Gods, gods it was so comfortable here. Adonia wasn't sure if she had ever felt anyone this warm. She'd had plenty of heated moments, sure, but no one was this warm. Adonia could tell that it was even warmer inside Cara, in her heart and her soul. In the parts no one reached... or rather, the parts Adonia assumed no one had reached. She secretly hoped they hadn't. Adonia wanted them. Cara said she knew that nothing shoulder hinder creativity, sighing to say that nothing had stopped her before, that the vacation would help her get over it. Adonia nodded just a little against Caras shoulder, "you will. I know you will," she said sweetly, her voice soft. Then Cara asked where she would go, and Adonias answer was instant, "India, first," she answered. She let her only working hand stroke Caras fingers slowly as she continued, "I want to see the parts with all the bright colors and beautiful fabrics. Fancy buildings and detailed things..." she paused, and so did her fingers, "I know it's bad that I want to avoid the less fortunate parts but... I'm not sure I'm so good with that stuff. Sad stuff."cara june bainbridge

@adonia Merlin…every time Adonia reinforced the fact that she could in fact write a novel if she wanted to, Cara felt a part of her barrier chip away. The one that she had put up for years, not wanting anyone to see that she struggled with things too sometimes – that her bossiness was the only way to fully control all aspects of her life without failure. Opening up about her issues with outlining her book had become more frequent lately, and while her siblings and Dominic had been a dumping point for that, they mostly nodded their head and went along with what she said. Even though Adonia was doing the same thing right now, Cara knew she meant it more than the rest. Sure, Seph and Kinsey would read it and give her feedback if she asked for it. But that was if she asked for it, and knowing her sisters, that was too much in the way for them to accurately judge it. Adonia seemed to be an impartial judge on all of that because she too was trying to break into entertainment. It felt like everything fit better with her.
Her heartbeat picked up as Adonia touched her fingers, explaining that she wanted to go to India. Focusing on the actual content of what the other girl was saying was hard to take in when she was trying to sort her own internal thoughts out. “I don’t think that’s wrong of you,” she said, taking a deep breath to figure out how to continue. “Trying to take care of others before yourself isn’t always the best…and neither is completely shutting people out. I know what that’s like. But we also deserve to be selfish if we want to.”

Adonia liked Cara's fingers, and liked touching them lightly. It was like she was gently checking if Cara was really there, or if she was imagining some beautiful creature just because she was so, so depressed and broken right now. But Cara was here. She was sure of that. If she forgot that this was real she'd check with the nurses for confirmation. The beautiful blonde was here. Cara said she didn't think it was wrong of Adonia to avoid the sad parts of India, and other sad things. She said to take care of herself first, that it was often better than trying to care for others ahead of that. Adonia would never shut people out. That wasn't her style, not one bit. "Well, I'll gladly be selfish if it means I can steal you away from the world for a while," she commented. "And where would you go? Where would inspire you?" maybe they could go there this summer. Or anytime, really, since they weren't students anymore. The world was wide open. cara june bainbridge

@adonia Her entire body was screaming for her to squirm while Adonia touched her hands. No one had really ever done that to her before. Sure, she was physical with Dominic at times, mostly just attaching herself to him, but never the other way around. This was something else completely. If Adonia had her head leaned on the other shoulder, over her heart, she would have heard exactly how nervous Cara was about this. Her brain was telling her it was the good kind of nervousness though, the type she should let in. There were so many things to think about though. She didn’t want to move in case it hurt Adonia, and she also didn’t want to go because she liked being where she was. The problem (and this was a good problem, which she was having trouble wrapping her head around), was that she was afraid Adonia would take the nervousness the wrong way. Talking helped avoid it, since it distracted the other girl. Unless she had already figured it out already.
Cara swallowed, feeling her breath catch again as Adonia said that being selfish meant she could get a hold of her for some time, quickly asking where she would go if she had the chance. Inspiration was an odd thing, seeing as she wrote down notes and ideas whenever and wherever. There wasn’t anything or anywhere specific that triggered these thoughts because she was always thinking. “Somewhere quiet, I think,” she started. “Like a beach in the early morning or late at night, when no one else is around. Or a forest. Whenever I needed to think at school I went down to the lake and sat behind a tree nobody ever went near,” Cara sighed as she thought back on her tree. “So nowhere specific.”

Adonia normally would be incredibly aware of every move Cara made and every sound, but she was too buried in grief for her senses to be as capable as usual. Cara spoke about how she would go somewhere quiet, which was the opposite of where Adonia would want to be. She wasn't too into the quiet. But, some quiet with Cara didn't sound so bad. It could be fun, and that was the most important. Adonia nodded, leaning back just a little now to get a better look at Caras face. "I can picture you there, looking all picturesque, changing the world one word at a time," she giggled, and her eyes shifted to look at Caras lips. She didn't bother looking away, but just looked at them for a moment. If she was feeling better, she may have kissed her but... she wasn't sure if it was fair to make that kind of move while on drugs. Suddenly, a healer, that Callisto girl, stepped into the room and cleared her throat sharply. "Visiting hours are up. Sorry, Miss Nystrom," she nodded at Cara, and waited. Adonia looked back at Cara's eyes, "I'll see you soon?"cara june bainbridge

@adonia Taking in the scenery in order to write was where she hoped to be one day as well. So far nothing had come of it, but that was hopefully going to be changing soon. As for being picturesque, as Adonia envisioned, Cara would probably disagree with that. Furiously writing down things or running through her thoughts and ideas wasn’t exactly the most attractive thing in the world to watch. Especially because she knew she talked to herself quite a bit while doing so. That was why she needed somewhere secluded. Her room at home already had a noise cancellation charm on it – something that had been placed there years earlier. Diana had never complained about the mumbling of ideas and concepts, but the rest of the family didn’t need to be disturbed by it. “Maybe not changing the world…” she looked down at their hands again, smiling a bit. All she wanted to do was give people the same kind of entertainment that she had while reading stories.
Caught up in her own thoughts, Cara hadn’t heard the door to the hospital room open. It wasn’t until the throat being cleared that her head snapped up to see the healer standing there. Of course it was someone she recognized. There was no way she would ever have remembered Cara, they had been years apart while in school. “Guess that means time to leave,” she said as she gently pulled herself away from Adonia and off of the bed. “After I get back from the family trip?” Giving a small wave to the other girl Cara turned to leave. As she passed Callisto, she gave the healer an awkward smile, feeling her face start to burn up as she got by her and exited the room. That kind of feeling had never happened before.
