It was almost time to get off and Jess was relieved. After a long day running errands for everyone, she was a bit tired. Honestly, Jess couldn't wait until she wasn't an intern anymore. She hated running errands, and would much rather actually write. She got a small glimpse of that the other week when she was asked to interview one of the ministry workers about the Tournament. Jess felt the interview went pretty well, and her article about it went it the paper. That was good, but it made it even harder to go back to real life as an intern.
At least it was almost time to go home. One of the head editors asked her to take an article they didn't like and send it back to the writer via owl. This happened a lot; they would get an article that didn't quite fit, write comments all over it and then ask her (or another intern) to go send it back so the writer could revise and send another one quickly. It wasn't a bad thing, but Jess had been about to leave when he asked her. So she left her bag in her small locker and went to take the envelope to the owl. When she got back, she smiled at the sight of a friend by the lockers.
Hunter was another intern here, a friend. "Hey Hunter, you ready to go home?" she asked with a cheery smile as she approached, opening her locker and grabbing her bag out for the second time today.
