It was Aerick’s first night bartending at Club Indigo and he was feeling a mix of emotions. He had only arrived in this country a few weeks ago, fresh off of graduation from Ilvermorny back in the States, and fresh off the betrayal of his common, NoMaj father. He knew his mother was sad to see him leave home so soon, especially after what her husband did to his family. He felt guilty about the lie, the fake letter from the famous wand shop Ollivanders offering him an apprenticeship to learn more about wand-making, but he knew his mother did not want to follow his father to Europe to seek revenge on him. What she didn’t know, couldn’t hurt her. He had followed around Uriah for the day, learning the ins and outs of bartending. It wasn’t hard, and it wasn’t as if Aerick did not know he was good looking. So he settled into his first night, pouring drinks like he was born to, and shamelessly flirting with a few girls. About halfway through the night, a pretty blonde caught his eye. She seemed to be truly enjoying herself, having the time of her life. So he decided when she came over for a drink that he had to talk to her. “What’s your poison?” he asked, giving her one of his winning grins. @angie

September 2019 - Angie was 3 months Graduated and enjoying every minute of not having to go back to the Hogwarts castle when the rest of the students were summoned back on the first of the month. She was free to finally enjoy life. She was working as a part time personal assistant during the day and spent all night, every night out. She’d slide into her parents house at 3 or 4 am every night and then sleep until 10 when she’d get up to go and meet the woman she was working for at her office in downtown London. The woman was a politician, Angie was working for a muggle. However, she knew it wasn’t going to last. It wasn’t a career that she cared about - her parents just insisted she take the first job she could until she found something she really wanted to do. She saw an add in a muggle newspaper for an assistant, just someone to run errands and answer phones. Sitting behind a desk drove Angie crazy, but she loved the short hours, and she loved the pay. It wasn’t as though she had any expenses at all, so all of the money could go into her nights of fun - like this one.
She had come to the popular wizard club with a girl who had been in her year and was someone that Angie actually liked. A lot of their classmates had gotten real jobs and were focusing on their careers. Angie felt like she was too young to take life so seriously. She was too young to stop having fun. She walked up the bar, leaving her friend dancing with a man she met on the dance floor. “Hey there - Blue eyes.” Angie smirked as she reached the bar counter. The bartender asked for her drink and Angie soaked in his accent, or lack thereof. “What would you suggest? Surprise me. I’m not picky I promise.” she bit her lip, kind of just wanting him to speak again.

Aerick chuckled at the girls’ obvious flirtation; for once however he did not mind in the slightest. He found her to be quite attractive, and if they both played their cards right, perhaps they wouldn’t be going home alone tonight. “Hmm….” Aerick pondered, tapping a forefinger to his lips as he contemplated what to make her. He had a few options weaving through his brain as she had arrived at the bar, but he decided on one drink in particular. With fluid motions, Aerick made the drink of his choice, pouring in vodka, peach schnapps and cranberry juice into his mixer and shaking it well before straining it into a glass. He garnished the drink with an orange and handed it to her with another smile. “Sex on the beach, on the house in case you don’t care for it,” he told her with a wink.
“And the name is Aerick, but blue eyes works well too,” Aerick added with a chuckle. His American accent, touched by the Brooklyn accent he had grown up around, always seemed to be quite endearing to the English women he served at Club Indigo, and this girl seemed to be no exception. That was alright though; Aerick had a weakness for the English accent himself, so it was a win win situation. “And what should I call you?” he asked as he waited for her to taste the drink he’d made for her.

“Well that sounds lovely, doesn’t it?” she giggled, jokingly of course, since there were no beaches in England where that would be deemed possible, not to mention really none nearby. She understood the sign that he was sending. She was a very flirty person and had learned back in school how to read the signs that others were giving her in response to her own behavior. He was eating it up, which she was pleased about since she wasn’t sure she had never filtered with any American and it was about time that she checked that off of the bucket list. He insisted her drink was on the house, just in case she didn’t like it. She smirked. “As long as there’s alcohol in it - I bet you I like it.” while he might take that as a joke, she meant it. And if she didn’t like it for some reason, she could always just plug her nose and down it so she could order something else. “I go by Angie.” she introduced herself. She head learned long ago to not include last names while giving first introductions, especially in a place like this. Aerick, he said his name was. She didn’t think she had ever heard the name before. “So - how did the club end up graced with your presence?” she asked, his accent just begging her to ask the question she was sure he heard a million times.

Aerick winked again at the blonde, knowing she got the innuendo and the joke. Some of the workers at Club Indigo were against fraternization with the patrons, but their boss had never spoken outwardly against it, so Aerick took it to mean it was alright. He was just a mere eighteen years old after all, and he couldn’t help himself most times. He had been the same way at Ilvermorny; he’d had countless dates with countless girls, but almost none of them had really gone further than a few stolen kisses in the broom closet. Almost, with the exception of Tania, his first and only girlfriend so far in his life. She had wanted to come with him to England after his father ran off, but Aerick’s emotions had become callous and cold by that point and had harshly broken things off. Perhaps one day he’d find her again and apologize, but for now he had things to do. “Oh you know, wanted to stretch my legs and see the world,” Aerick replied to her question breezily, wondering if she could in fact read minds. Uriah so far had been the only person to know about his actual reasons for being in the United Kingdom, and it would stay that way for as long as possible. “They needed a good-looking bartender who brings in the customers, and found me instead,” he added jokingly. “So Miss Angie, what is it you do?” he asked, pouring himself a glass of water and taking a long sip. @angie

Angie wasn’t so much actually interested on why he was in London, as much as she just wanted to create an excuse to hear more words come out of his mouth in his darling, American accent. And he didn’t fail her. He explained that he wanted to get out and see the world, a feeling that she admired and actually sort of agreed with. He then made joke, insinuating that he wasn’t handsome, but he obviously had to be joking, since Angie couldn’t imagine that anyone in this bar would call him unattractive, and he had to know it about himself too. Attractive people knew how good they looked. However, she found it charming, and gave a bit of a laugh with an eye roll after he said it. "Welcome to London then." she said. Angie was still waiting for her drink, but she didn’t really mind, she had got distracted by the barman, and he seemed a little distracted by her as well. “This.” she admitted with a smirk when he asked what she did. Angie was unemployed, and pretty blissfully so. She knew she had to get a job soon, her parents were starting to really get on her about figuring out what she wanted to do with her life, however, tonight was not the night. “Drink. Dance. Chat up cute, American bartenders.” she twirled a piece of her blonde hair in between her fingers.

Aerick smirked and inclined his head towards the girl. She was brazenly flirting with him, but he liked it. Too many girls their age liked to play games where they pretended they weren’t interested, then acted all jealous when someone else grabbed his attention. He was an eighteen year old male for crying out loud; he wanted one thing, and he didn’t want to do a song and dance to figure out if a girl liked him or not. Angela clearly wasn’t like most girls. She knew what she wanted, and if she continued this way, she would get it. A few hours passed, with Aerick continuing to openly flirt with Angela, much to the chagrin of some of the other girls in the club. He didn’t care though; they had tried and failed to gain his attention. Angela was blonde, beautiful and sparkled out on the dance floor. He couldn’t help but watch her move through the throngs of people. He felt a nudge and his fellow bartender nodded out to the dance floor. Aerick chuckled; the man would cover for him if he wanted a dance with Angela, which he certainly did. So he checked to see that he smelled good (he did), put the dish rag on the rack and headed out to the dance floor, running his hands through his hair. As he reached the girl, he reached out and placed a hand gently on her shoulder. “Can you spare a dance for this cute, American bartender?” he asked her, flashing her a winning smile. @angie

It wasn’t uncommon for the young woman to stay out until all hours of the night. Especially not if she was having fun. And tonight was turning out to be a lot more fun than she thought that it would be. Angie had always been a very outgoing characters who sometimes came off too strong for some people's liking, however, it seemed that she had met her match in the American bartender. He was just as flirty as she was and also seemed like someone who was down for a good time. A few drinks and a few hours later, Angie felt a hand on her shoulder. Her friends had seen him approach her before she noticed. She was almost surprised to see him away from the bar. Had his shift ended? “Are you allowed to dance with the customers?” she teased before biting her lower lip and nodding. Of course she’d dance with him. It didn't hurt that this act was making her the envy of the club. Angie loved being the center of attention.

“I’m on break, I’m allowed to do whatever I want, with whomever I want,” Aerick breathed in her ear as his hands slid around her waist. They danced in rhythm with one another, though he had no idea what song was blasting over the speakers. All he was focused on was the girl currently dancing with, even though he could certainly feel the eyes of people watching them enviously. “Let’s give them something to look at shall we?” he whispered, spinning her around so that their faces were a mere few inches apart. He smiled slyly at her before leaning down to press his lips against hers. It was a nice feeling, and he didn’t break away from her until he needed to come up for air. “Why don’t you meet me at the bar in two hours? If you’re still around,” he suggested with a smirk. He knew the suggestion in his words would not go unnoticed by her, so with a wink he slipped his arms from around her waist and headed back to the bar, as though nothing had just happened. He slung a towel over his shoulder and ignored the look his co worker was currently giving him. He only had to make it through a few more hours, then he’d know if he was going to have some female company tonight or not. @angie

She felt his words as much as she heard them. He was so close to her. His hands were around her waist and they were swaying on the same beat, keeping rhythm together. Angie wasn't shy and she rarely got flustered around members of the opposite sex, however, it had been a while since she had come across anyone quite as confident as she was. Someone was cocky and smooth as Aerick the bartender appeared to be. Angie, who was already a fair few drinks into her night wasn’t about to turn down the opportunity to be the envy of the club, it was what she was meant to be. He spoke again and drew their faces closer together, lingering for just long enough for her to realize what was happening before he kissed her. Oh he was good. Angie felt herself think. She had met her match in his man, normally she was the one to initiate an y sort of physical contact but she enjoyed being so close to someone who knew what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to go for it. “Well that was certainly eye catching.” Angie whispered once they broke apart. His request and wink certainly didn’t go unnoticed but Angie just gave a playful shrug instead of saying anything else. He went back to work and she didn’t allow her eyes to follow him, even though watching him walk away probably would have been as satisfying as watching him approach. ~ 2 hours passed and Angie was still at the club, however, most of her friends had filtered out or were getting ready to go and find their next spot for the night. It was unusual for them to stay in one place all night when there were more men and more drinks waiting at other bars. But when the time came, Angie found herself seated on one of the bar stools, sipping what would likely be her last drink for the night. @aerick

Aerick was pleased to see that Angie had stuck around; it showed that the girl had stamina, something he liked in women. Some of the girls he had wanted to...associate with over the past few months hadn’t lasted the entire night he was on the bar for. Already this night was going better than others. He swiped his cloth over the bar as she sipped on her last drink. There were barely any people left in the bar, and Aerick watched as the people Angie had come with left without her. That left very little to the imagination of what was going to happen over the next few hours. Aerick poured himself a glass of bourbon and drained it, just as Angie finished her drink. He gave her one of his charming, New York smiles. “Well Miss Angie, let’s take this back to my place for a nightcap,” he suggested, already knowing the answer to the question. He let her take his arm and led her a few blocks away to his flat over the pizza shop. He opened the door for her, a perfect gentleman. He went over to the small bar cart he kept in his kitchen and pulled out two glass tumblers and a decanter full of Scotch. He poured in some ice and poured a few fingers worth of Scotch. He handed one of the glasses over to Angie, and toasted her. “To new...friends,” he said with a smirk, winking at her as he downed his drink. @angie

Aerick suggested that they take this back to his place and Angie agreed and accepted his invitation. She took his arm as he lead her out of the club, away from the sounds of music and laughter and overly loud conversation to make up for the previous two. The numbers within had dwindled as the hours past, but there was still quite a few enjoying the remaining hours of night when they left. His apartment was nice enough, just about what she was expecting from a young man living alone in a little flat about a pizza shop. She took of her jacket once they entered and held it over her arm, not sure where to put it down and still trying to put off an aura of being slightly put together, she’d abandon that within the next few minutes, she was sure. She knew why she was here. She knew why he invited her here and she was completely on the same page. He poured two glasses of scotch and gave one to her, offering a toast new friends before downing his. “New friends.” Angie repeated with a wink before taking hers as well. “So… you live here alone?” she asked, just clarifying that no one should be walking in. She then laid her jacket over the arm of a chair and looked around again, trying to locate the bedroom.

Aerick’s glass clinked with Angela’s and he downed the scotch in one gulp. Even at his tender age of eighteen he still knew how to tell what was good scotch - that was something he learned from his father. He had learned a lot from this man whose entire life had been a sham; he tried to deny himself anything that his father had said was good, but this one luxury he allowed himself to have. But tonight, he wasn’t going to think about his father, or what he had come to London to do in the first place. He had a good looking girl in front of him, who had waited until the early hours of the morning for him to finish up, and she deserved his attention. “I do,” Aerick said with a nod. Without any hesitation, he reached out and gently lifted the glass from Angela’s hands, setting it down on the coffee table. “I think we’re both past the small talk stage, don’t you agree?” he asked with a small smirk. He stood up and held out his hand. “My bedroom is through here,” he told her, nodding towards the closed door next to the bar cart. He knew that was what Angie was looking for, and he was only too happy to continue the night behind the closed door of his room. @angie

Angie was a fan of distracting oneself from burdensome thoughts, that was why she went out nearly every night and why she was willing to do things, like stay at a bar past her friends breaking points in order to go home with an attractive, American bar tender. She finished her drink shortly after he did. He took it at once and she took a little more time with it, not wanting to get sloppy or appear out of control in anyway. While she normally was fine throwing back a drink and loved the fun and burn of taking shots, she wanted to appear a little more classy in this situation. He took her glass as he answered her question, and without wasting any time, got down to the real reason that they were there. “Well then.” she cooed with a smirk on her red lips. She leaned in and placed a small kiss on his neck before whispering near his ear, “let’s get more comfortable.” she let go of his hand and walked into the door he had nodded to, fully knowing that he was right behind her. ~ Almost 2 months later Angie found herself standing outside of Aerick’s apartment, trying to work up the courage to knock on the door. She hadn’t expected to be back here like this. She had never before been nervous to talk to someone, but she had to talk to him. She couldn’t keep this a secret. Right? He had to know. At least, her mother seemed to think that he had a right to know. She wasn’t even sure what she wanted yet. She had only just found out, or, more likely, she had only just accepted. The signs had been there for a while but she didn’t want to believe it. She knew it was Aerick’s, he was the last person she had been with, and it didn’t make sense, timeline wise, for it to be anyone else's. So, after a deep breath, the blonde knocked on the door. @aerick

It had been two months since an eventful night Aerick had had with Angie, the girl he'd met from Club Indigo. They had parted ways early the next morning; there was no breakfast, no plans for any time of future encounters. While Aerick had had a great time, he just wasn't looking to settle down with anyone. He was just eighteen after all, and had bigger fish to fry. He had been introduced by his colleague to Alastor Draven, who had, in so many words, agreed to help Aerick find his father. But first, Aerick had to prove his worth to Draven. So far he had been on three missions; the last one he had had to use his python Animagus form to extract what he wanted out of the man, and had nearly killed him. Normally, that would have freaked Aerick out, but ever since the reveal of his father as a blood traitor and a coward had hardened his heart. He would do anything to extract the revenge he so desired. Anything. He had just woken up after a late shift at the Club when he heard a knock at his apartment door. Curious who would be bothering him at this time (Alastor had so far been mindful of his shifts at the club he owned) he shuffled over to the door, his hair still a mess from lying in bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He opened the door and his eyes widened in mild surprise to see Angela standing there. "Hey...." he said, not moving from the doorframe to let her in. "What are you doing here?" he asked, not unkindly. He had been pretty sure they had both agreed their tryst was just a one time thing, so he was wondering what she was doing here now. @angie
