A party was a welcome distraction from the boring every day routine. Both she and Noah were raised close to the ocean (different oceans but that didn’t matter), so they both enjoyed it. Noah more then herself but the boy was practically half fish so no surprise. Apparently both Hogwarts and Ilvermorny students wer invited so it’d be a good chance to get a feel of her new classmates. So... why not?
As was customary, Noel arrived before her boyfriend. He’d catch up eventually. She moved at a faster pace then his chilled and leisurely stroll. And she arrived just in time to hear the host introduce himself. ”Gilderoy? What sort of girly name is that?” Noel blurted out without any remorse. She never held her tongue, no matter how offensive it was. She eyed the boy up and down. ”Hmph. Suits you, I suppose. You’d snap like a twig.”
Her attention was soon drawn to the vibrant haired Asian and dark skinned boy near the water. Them she recognized and moved towards the pair. ”If either of you are too chicken to go in I’d be happy to give you a little shove!” she called out, sounding teasing but also quite serious at the same time.

How in the world owls kept finding him was beyond Daniel. Maybe if he had been staying in one place long enough he would understand but Daniel have been camping out in various places all over London and his father's owls kept finding him. He was just seeing sights and enjoying being away from his father though. It was amazing how freeing it was being on his own and his mood was only helped by the news that a large portion of the Illvermorny students body would be coming to Hogwarts. He was upset that Illvermorny had been damaged for a few days but now he found the positive in his fellow students coming here.
Still the owls from his father were getting old and he expected this mornings owl to be another one. Daniel was moments from ripping it up till he noticed it wasn't his father's owl, this one was different. He read it this time and it was a party invitation from... Gilderoy. Gilderoy of all people... why was he sending him a party invitation but as he read it it seemed this was sent to everyone from Hogwarts and Illvermorny. He took a moment to wonder what he counted as at this point. It didn't matter as Daniel RSVPed back that it was coming. Any excuse to see some friends possibly. He knew only some of the Illvermorny students would be here this early. The rest would be around when school officially started. Still this was his chance to see some familiar faces.
Daniel didn't plan on swimming as he knew how cold the waters of Europe could be, just as cold as back where he used to live. Still he brought swim trunks anyway as he packed up his things and stored them in the usual safe place. All before flooing from the leaky cauldron to the beach house. It seemed nice enough once he got there and Daniel could hear plenty of people outside. He was almost a little disappointed when he didn't see some of the people he had hoped to see. Still many of the faces were familiar and that was a start. He was about to walk out and see if he could remember more about the Illvermorny students that were here before seeing someone else. Normally he wouldn't have bothered but Crayla was standing alone watching everyone else as some started heading for the ocean. Before the school year was over he had actually asked someone what her name was but he wasn't about to tell her that or use it. "What? The new students keeping you away? You should be used to Americans by now." Daniel said laughing slightly as he walked a little closer. He laughed a little more as one girl insulted Gilderoy for a moment, he knew her sort of as they had been in thunderbird together and it was all starting to come back to him. "Honestly she makes you look sweet in comparison." Daniel added teasing slightly.

“Oh, don't try to challenge a Thunderbird and get away with it,” Kisumi teased him, and she had used her having grown up “on the ocean” as proof that she could handle it. Without another word, she took off the layers of clothing that she had been wearing over her swimsuit, its blue color in stark contrast with the pink color that her hair was presently dyed.
“Really?” Kisumi asked to the others around them. No one else?”
Judging by the silence, it seemed as though it would just be the two of them who were willing to test the waters, literally speaking. Fortunately for them in one regard, the ocean before them wasn't a swimming pool, meaning that they wouldn't receive the shock of diving straight into icy water. If it really was unbearable, only their feet and ankles would have to find out.
“On three it is,” the Thunderbird decided.
No sooner had she spoken than Zeke heard someone else's voice come over the sound of the others' conversations, clearly directed at him and Kisumi. It was another Thunderbird, a girl named Noel. “If either of you are too chicken to go in I’d be happy to give you a little shove!” Zeke could hear that she was joking, but he wouldn't put it past her, either.
Zeke looked to Kisumi and laughed. “What did you just say about challenging Thunderbirds?” They could be awfully stubborn when they wanted to be.
“This Pukwudgie ain't no chicken!” Zeke called back to Noel, laughing all the while. He wasn't a chicken about most things; he couldn't be if he wanted to become an Auror. As long as it didn't involve heights, he was fine, though he guessed that he probably used a little more sense than the average Thunderbird did in their quest for adventure. “Are you joining us or what?” he asked Noel, guessing that she wouldn't just call them chickens without going in for herself.

The redheaded girl introduced herself first, after saying that she and the boy with her were just about to go over and join the others. She also said that her name was Anna. That meant that she must have been the one who had won the Triwizard Tournament. From what Kaylee remembered of the coverage of the competition that they had gotten stateside, "Anna" was just her nickname—her middle name was Annelise, or something like that.
The boy with her remained quiet, so Kaylee went ahead and introduced herself as the three of them started back over towards the rest of the party. “I'm Kaylee,” she said, smiling at them both. “I'm one of the new students from Ilvermorny.”
Seeing how Anna took the lead over the young man she was with—combined with his scars—Kaylee wondered if he was from Beauxbatons or Durmstrang. It would explain why he had been injured, and it would explain why he would have been so apprehensive. Her dad didn't really talk about what it was like for him to lose his legs, either.
Looking at how many people had arrived in the short time since she'd broken away from Sav and Gilderoy, Kaylee was surprised. She overheard someone say that they should do introductions, and she couldn't disagree with that. A few people looked to be headed for the water, but starting with an icebreaker was never a bad idea.

Brooke still wasn’t very happy to be in England, however, she was getting used to it by now and was starting to accept her fate. There were some parts of being here that Brooke loved, she loved the idea to adventure and getting to explore a new place, she just hated not being home for the summer and she really hated Diagon Alley. She hated how crowded it was, especially since a majority of her classmates had joined them in the new country for the summer before the school year started. Brooke had figured that she’d meet a majority of the people she’d be going to school with once the school year started, but an owl showed up at their apartment and invited her and her brothers to a party hosted by a Hogwarts student at a beach somewhere in the country, Brooke couldn’t turn down the opportunity.
The Thunderbird took the floo network to the location and upon arriving saw a lot of familiar faces mixed into the crowd of potential new friends. There was a group running to the water, something Brooke felt compelled to participate in, however, knowing how far North they were, and being from the North herself, she wasn’t sure if it was a good idea. Instead, she fixed in on the most familiar face in the crowd, Jace was a good place to start. The Brunette made her way to the group. “Hey.” she said, nudging Jace’s shoulder to announce her arrival. “I’m Brooke.” she said confidently, introducing herself to the others.

Sav MacMillian, soon-to-be professional Quidditch player and already professional flirt, kept his smirk on his face as each new person made it to the party. Of course, there were some he recognized and some he would never even try to go after, but most of these girls were new chances, hopefully at least some of them were easy going and up for at least a flirty conversation. He hadn’t even snogged anyone since the Durmstrang girl in the forest, and that had been far too long ago. Sav knew he had a reputation to protect, even if few people knew that he had been the one to spike the punch at the last party back in March, those who did would expect him to do it again. And he had come prepared. "I'm Sav." He introduced himself again to the new faces as they joined the group, most of them seemed younger than him, but not all.
Gilderoy pointed out where he had laid out the food and drink and Sav didn’t really want to waste any time, plus, it was probably better to do it sooner rather than later, less people around were less people who might notice him, especially, since he didn’t know if any of the Ilvermorny students would be stricter about underage drinking than most of his classmates were. “I should go check that out then.” Sav decided with a chuckle and a smirk to the party host, who surely knew what Sav had in mind regarding the refreshment situation. He made his way over to the table and poured himself a glass of the punch, just to get a taste of what he was working with before he added any firewhisky.

A beach party, now that was the right thing to say to Noah. It sounded fun. It was also a nice opportunity to get to meet or at least see some of the European students that he would be attending school with. He had even heard that they were going to be sorted into the Hogwarts houses. It would be nice to get to know some of them. Plus, Noah just saw this as an adventure. For whatever reason, Noel was adamant to go first. Everyone in Ilvermorny knew them as a couple. They had been dating for quite a few years. He arrived and looked at the northern beach. He looked out to the ocean longingly. He knew all too well that the ocean this far from the equator was cold. He missed his sunny Hawaiian beach back home. And his surf board. The smell was the same. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath in. The smell of the ocean brought a smile to the boys face. He wore one of his surfing competition t-shirts. That was a good competition.
His eyes were still closed, as noah took another deep breath as he heard the voice of his girlfriend insult the apparent host of this party. He opened his eyes and looked over to the dark haired beauty and smiled as she made her way to some Ilvermorny kids that he recognized. He didn’t think he would join them just yet. The boy watched the scene play out, as his girlfriend made her way over to the group, Noah made his way over to the two boys. ”Hey, I’m Noah, and the tactless girl over there is Noel.” He moved to shake the boys hand. He did seem a bit more flamboyant than any straight man that he had ever meat before. Maybe he wasn’t. But that was his business.
@lockhart @sav @noel @ anyone who wants to talk with Noah. (I really want a girl to come and flirt/be overly friendly with him, it will be hilarious.)

"What? The new students keeping you away? You should be used to Americans by now." Crayla felt the tiny hairs on the back of her neck stand up when she heard the unfortunately familiar voice approach her from behind. She had done her best to avoid the Gryffindor, American boy for the rest of the school year and hadn’t even thought about seeing him over the summer, or at the party. Why hadn’t she thought about it? If the new American students would be here, of course the American idiot would show up. Cray wasn't turned off by most Americans, and just like the foreigner students from last year, she was interested in the new students, however, not quite as much since they were all “New World” and seen as way less that any European pureblood family, which she was still looking to work her way into. “Well hopefully not all Americans are as obnoxious as you are.” Cray half-mumbled with a roll of her eyes to top it off. How could anyone see her talking with this Gryffindor and not pull her away? Where was Zaire when she needed him? Or anyone else she wouldn’t mind being seen with.
A dark haired girl made a crack at Gilderoy, someone whom she didn’t hate, however, despite her relationship with Gilderoy, Crayla couldn’t hold back a snicker. The girl had spunk, she had to give that to her. There was a reason Cray was in Hexen. However, when Daniel laughed also and made a comment about the girl making Cray seem sweet, she rolled her eyes again. “She should be just your type then, maybe you can leave me alone and go flirt with your own kind.” she crossed her arms over her chest.

Katherine loved the beach, and when she got wind of this party she was ready to be there. Plus, her future classmates would be there, however... strange they may be. And British. She didn't know any of them, and didn't bother to check if Jake was going. The second she showed up, her eyes immediately found Daniel and she rolled her eyes. Her ex boyfriend, why she ever dated someone so low and the IQ scale, she'd never know. He was talking to a girl, and she slowly made her way over. She arrived just in time for the girl to fold her arms, telling Daniel to flirt with her own kind. "Oh, Daniel barking up the wrong tree again?" she said, easing her way near them. She looked the girl up and down, "I can see he's aiming out of his league," she turned to look at Daniel, lifting a hand to give a little wave, "Surprise, surprise. Who's this?" she glanced back at the girl but then looked past her to see Noel, Zeke and Kisumi by the water. She grinned. Noel was a vicious creature, and Katherine adored that brat. @crimson1 @cray (mentions: @noel and @ezekiel and @kisumi

Daniel would move on after he had some fun. There had to be some other people here he knew well enough from Illvermorny. Still this girl was fun to talk to at times, they didn’t get along at all and that was most of the fun in this. Daniel needed an outlet for being a smart-ass sometimes and not feel bad. “I wasn’t aware I was being obnoxious but if you thought I was bad. That’s just the tip of the American iceberg I’m afraid.” Daniel replied with a small smirk, no most of the Illvermorny students were nice. At least as far as he was concerned. It was just a shame that one of those examples was Noel as she insulted Gilderoy after he had said that. Still it was funny to watch someone insult the egomaniac, he could probably use it.
He didn’t consider anything he had said flirting and was truly hoping she wasn’t being serious here. Sure if she thought he was he could use it to make another joke. Still he didn’t want her thinking he was actually trying anything. “I wasn’t aware you considered this flirting. I’ll try to tone down the compliments I g-“ Daniel got out before he heard a familiar voice and he cut himself short. This wasn’t something he needed right now and he had come here hoping to find old friends. No as he looked over he found something far worse than Crayla, Gilderoy or no friends at all. He found Katherine, or more so she found him. He hadn’t even thought of the people he didn’t want coming here. “Oh, Katherine, what a relief. I thought it was getting colder out here. Glad it wasn’t just my imagination.” Daniel didn’t hate Katherine and how she felt about him he wasn’t sure nor did he care. Arguing was just all they did since they broke up and he was used to it. Or at least he was till he spent a year away from her.
“Oh you know me, I have a certain type. Pretty, dark hair and they have to hate my guts.” He replied as Katherine commented about him aiming for someone out of his league. This conversation was just going to go well he could tell. She asked who the girl was finally and while he could have said her name after finding it out from someone else he decided not to. “Honestly I don’t know but I get the feeling you two already have plenty in common.”

Everyone in his family was confused including Jacob when invitations started coming in about a beach party. Three came in each addressed to the three siblings. It sounded interesting at the very least and a good time. From the invitation it seemed everyone from Illvermorny was invited as well as the Hogwarts students. Jacob didn't know who this Gilderoy was but Jacob wasn't going to turn down the chance to see some friends and get a feel for the rest of the Hogwarts students. His few run-ins with them had gone well so he could only hope the rest of the year would go smoothly. If not for his sake than for his sister and little brother. He RSVPed back that he was going and made sure to read the directions for how to get there by floo.
Jacob wasn't sure if he was going to go swimming but decided there was nothing wrong with just showing up in swimming trunks and a shirt. If he didn't swim then it was just like wearing shorts after all. Thankfully their apartments fireplace had just been connected to the floo network. While he took some time to wonder how this place had a fireplace without a chimney. He Flooed shortly after Katherine did, he didn’t want to go at the same time as he didn’t plan on hanging out with her. He loved his sister mostly because he had to as she was family but he also needed a break. Once to the beach house and after a moment of getting his bearing he could here people outside the house, as well as the smell of the sea air. It was assuring enough that he was in the right place than somewhere else by accident.
Before exiting the house he grabbed himself a plate of mostly cookies from the snack table inside. Once outside he found the people and the music. Some were familiar, Jacob was glad to see he wasn't one of the only Illvermorny students here. Jacob was content for a moment as he leaned forward on the railing of the patio. Just watching over for a moment not feeling like jumping into others conversations. It also helped that there was quite a show going on, Noel had just insulted someone before running off which wasn’t anything new. Also Katherine had just found an ex boyfriend and he could only laugh at how awkward this was going to be as he was ready to watch that happened next. He almost didn’t notice the other girl nearby till he looked around, he wasn’t sure when she showed up or if he had actually missed her when he got to the patio. “Oh sorry, didn’t see you. Probably too distracted with the show out on the beach. Cookie?” Jacob offered his plate holding it slightly closer to her trying not to be rude. “I’ve made better but they aren’t half bad.” He explained to the stranger almost a little proudly at that.

The two were approached by another girl. A new girl, she assumed, based on the fact that she had never seen this new girl before. However, the girl seemed to know Daniel. Even better: another annoying American. Cray debated leaving right then and there, before she heard the new comer speak, she had assumed they would side with Daniel and already be making enemies with the wrong girl before they even started at Hogwarts. However, the girls words hooked Cray and she felt a smirk grow on her lips. The Slytherin found herself in the presence of someone else who hated the Gryffindor American as much as she did. Interesting. “I can’t imagine all Americans are bad if there’s at least one with sense enough to agree with me.” Cray shrugged off Daniel’s comment about him being the tip of the iceberg.
“Don’t be rude to our guests, Gryffindor. We’re expected to give them a warm welcome.” Cray teased ever so slightly, she had no plans on giving a majority of the American students a warm welcome, or even glancing twice at most of them, however, as she expected, there had to be a few that we either attractive enough, rich enough or interesting enough to keep her attention. And this new girl had at least 2 out of the 3, Cray couldn’t determine her family's financial status from their first meeting. “Oh you know me, I have a certain type. Pretty, dark hair and they have to hate my guts.” “Well that would explain why you’re still alone then.” She waved him off, turning instead to the girl. “Cray Howlan. And you?” she asked, allowing her French accent to come out a little more.

Oscar shook his head when Anna asked if he was ready. He wasn’t ready, really, but he wasn’t sure that he ever would be. The longer he stood at the edge of the party, the less sure he was that he wanted to do this at all, especially with the ocean looming so close to them. Oscar hadn’t been near the water since the accident, but he was beginning to realize that he was… a little afraid of it. He hadn’t come close to drowning, not really, but it was a bit unsettling to realize how close he had been, and how many of his classmates had perished in the ocean. Oscar forced himself not to dwell on that. He was going to get married on a beach, he reminded himself, and that was as good of a reason as anything to get comfortable with being on the sand.
A girl from the group of people approached them, and Oscar stiffened slightly, trying not to show how tightly he was gripping onto Anna. She asked if they were going to join them, and Anna answered for the both of them – though she only introduced himself. “Oscar.” He answered, clearing his throat a little. “I see I am not the only one not from England here.” He commented. Oscar hadn’t been keeping up with the news as much as he ought to have, but even someone living under a rock would have heard about Ilvermorny exploding, and he assumed that was why the girl didn’t sound British.

The boy finally introduced himself as Oscar, and he commented that he saw that he wasn’t the only one there who wasn’t from England. By his accent, he sounded French, though he didn’t say where he was from for her to know for certain. For all she knew, he could have been from Belgium or Switzerland or something.
“You’re not,” Kaylee smiled, looking around at how many of her fellow students from Ilvermorny had shown up to the party so far. “There are tons of us from Ilvermorny here,” she pointed out. Even Daniel McKay was there, and—even if he wasn’t technically an Ilvermorny student anymore—he still counted as someone who wasn’t from England, as Oscar had said.
“I’m from Hawaii, myself,” Kaylee explained to Anna and Oscar. Geographically, she and Noah Sawyer were the farthest from their actual homes, of the people there. Speaking of Noah, Kaylee observed that he was—shockingly—unattached from Noel Hochberg. “So… different beaches,” she laughed. It was different from what she was used to, but it was similar enough that it made Kaylee feel like she was home—if only a little bit.
“I can introduce you two to some of my classmates, if you want?” she offered. It didn’t look as though everyone was completely engrossed in other things yet.

Nora had received an invitation to this beach party. She figured it was a good way to meet some of her fellow students, even though she'd have to avoid the sun the whole time. She wore a leather jacket with a hoodie underneath, hood pulled up over her head to block out the sunlight. Complete with giant black sunglasses, she was pretty well protected from the sun. She was sure she'd spend most of this party inside, but most of the people were out here right now. She was creeping hard, as usual, her arms folded and her eyes trained out the people around her. And then she smelled cookies. Her head snapped to the side, watching the boy come out of the house with the plate. She stayed silent and held perfectly, perfectly still. She was very, very good at that. Then he spoke to her and she lifted a finger to her glasses, gently pulling them down a little to reveal her eyes. "Sure, they smell great," she smiled, replacing her glasses and using that hand to take a cookie. "And you are?" she was talking in her sultry 'vampire power' voice, and why not? @jacob
