James was making moves to leave his parents house. He had been graduated for a year now and he felt it was time to move out on his own, though the timing now felt awful. A part of him didn't want to leave his mother, Lily and Albus after the disappearance of their father. But James had felt so much pain within these walls in the last year that he couldn't bring himself to really stay anymore. He knew what he was doing was really for the best. Plus, he could always Apparate to visit them. It wasn't like he would be far.
The Gryffindor alum came down into the kitchen looking for his mother so that he could gently tell her the news. Unfortunately, he didn't see her in there. It occurred to him then that this could be one of the last few times he stood in the kitchen as a member of the Potter household, alone. He took in a deep breath as happy memories of baking with his family at holidays, with Natalia, and more memories of his father in the morning at the table flooded his mind. Since he was alone, he didn't stop the little sting he felt in his eye as he let a little sniff slip out.

Unlike her mother, Ginny liked the busy herself with housework, especially these days. While she knew the spells her mother cast on the cleaning supplies within their home that used to clean the house, cook the dinner, and everything else, she very rarely used them. Ginny enjoyed cleaning whenever she needed to, and one of those times was today. She had been in the kitchen, of course, not doing much besides brewing up some tea for the day, and had even placed some cookies into the oven. But once that was done, she went to dusting the foyer area, at least, until she could smell the cookies and wanted to check on them. And with that, she walked towards the kitchen area and was stopped by that fact that her eldest son, James, was standing in the kitchen. “Hey James,” she said with a smile as she moved closer to him, that was until she hears a sniffle come from his direction. “Hey—are you okay?” she questioned with concern, her body going into her mama-bear mode.
