The past school year hadn’t been the best. Not that anything actually bad had happened to the Gryffindor boy directly, however, nothing entirely too good had happened either. Except one thing - well one person - and he wasn’t sure if she was even alive. He had never got her name and he hadn’t seen her sense. He tried not to dwell on it, though. There was nothing he could do about it either way and it wasn’t exactly like he was expecting to ever see her again.
The next year was looking up, however. It was his last year. It was the last year he’d have to sit through boring classes, it was the last year he’d have a curfew and be made to stay in the castle after dark. And, it was the year that he’d be leading the Gryffindor Quidditch team! Sav had been working his way up to captain since he joined the team in his 3rd year as a beater. And finally he had been awarded the honor. He missed Quidditch so much more than he could even understand. Quidditch and girls were the only things that he felt like truly gave him purpose and both of them had been severely lacking last year. But not this year, the Gryffindor thought to himself as he walked down the Alley that July day.

Hood up, sunglasses on, she hated sunny days. Luckily, the Alley had a lot of shady spots and stores she could duck into if the sun was starting to irritate her half-vampire skin too much. She was walking fast right now, headed down, because the sun was shining right on this site of the Alley. She was just trying to get to Quality Quidditch Supplies to get new gloves, that was all she wanted. She had been given a new bat when they moved here, and she wanted some new gloves, too. She heard the teams at Hogwarts were pretty full, but she'd still try out for Beater. She was a demon with a bat. She grumbled to herself, annoyed at the bright sun when suddenly she realized she was about to walk into someone, if she kept at her speed and path. So, she started to adjust course, but then she looked at him. She lifted her head, "hi," she said, surprising herself a little, as she almost passed him, taking her sunglasses off. "Is this the fastest way to the Quidditch store?"@sav

Sav had noticed the girl before she stopped and spoke to him. The fact that she was wearing a hood and sunglasses caught his eye. A fair amount of people were wearing sunglasses, since it was a nice day out, a rarity for London, but this girl in particular looked like she didn’t want to be seen. She caught his eye, he smirked, and she stopped walking and took off her sunglasses before speaking. When she spoke, he suddenly understood why she was dressed the way that she was. She was a vampire, wasn’t she? He had met a few of them in his life, there were a few of them at Hogwarts, he thought. But, never had he really interacted with one. He was intrigued. Very intrigued. “Yeah, it’s just down the Alley, this way.” he nodded, with a lack-luster point in the direction of the shop. She didn’t sound like she was from England, he wondered if she had to be one of the transfer students. “You play?” he asked. He had thought that they played a different game over there.

The boy said it was just down the Alley, and gave a sort of point. She nodded, but didn't take her eyes off him. He asked if she played and she grinned, nodding, "beater," she explained. "Never been on a full team, though. I went to a small school in Canada," she explained. "I play the game though, definitely. I'm going to Hogwarts this fall," she explained, so he'd no she wasn't just visiting. "Do you go there? Or... graduated?" he looked like he could be old enough to already be out of school, but she didn't just want to assume one or the other. She pocketed her sunglasses and started to move, just a little, toward the direction of the Quidditch shop. She was more interested in the boy in front of her then the shop at this moment in time, though. Attractive people had a way of distracting her. Especially if they knew anything about Quidditch. @sav

She explained that she was a beater and he smirked. Interesting. She certainly caught his attention with that statement about herself. She also went on to explain that she had never been on a full team since she was coming here from a small homeschool in Canada. She was going to Hogwarts this fall. Sav kept his little smirk on his face. He was already captivated. He had been telling Hugo that this was going to be his year, he was a 7th year, and he was the Quidditch captain. He was on top of the food chain, at least in his own head. And being on top, to Sav, brought the girls along with it. “Yeah, I go to Hogwarts. Quidditch captain for my house, actually. I play beater too,” he admitted. The fact that she played beater made her all the more interesting to him. Beaters had to be strong and able to handle a bit of pain in the event that they got hit with either the bludger or a fly bat. They often got in their own way. Sav always liked a girl who could keep up with him, or better yet, challenge him. “You know, I was actually just heading over there.” Sav lied. He was heading the other direction entirely, but nowhere particularly. She took off of her sunglasses and began to walk in the direction that he pointed her, he turned and walked along with her, figuring she would tell him to bugger off if she wasn’t interested.

He smirked at the mention of her playing beater, and she was considering asking about that, but she didn't push it yet. He said he was Quidditch captain, and also a beater, and she got it. She grinned. "And which house is that? I have a pretty good idea where I'll end up," she explained, her tone proud. She was very self aware, and that was something she prided herself in. He said he was headed to the Quidditch store and she grinned, "Please, show me the way," she said, almost using her alluring vampire tone but deciding against it. He seemed pretty willing anyway, and they headed off. "So, you're the captain. Is that a recent development or did you do it last year too?"@sav

“Gryffindor - house of the brave and strong.” he answered proudly when she asked what house he was the captain for. He was proud of his house and he was proud to be in Gryffindor. He felt it fit him well. However, he wasn’t one of the more intense Gryffindors who believed that their house was superior to any other house in any way. Sav thought every house had their merits. However, he knew he wouldn’t thrive as well in any other house. She took his bait and insisted that he show her the way to the Quidditch shop, he turned in his tracks and began walking alongside her, taking his time, not letting himself walk at his normal pace, wanting to spend a little more time talking to her. He was completely captivated and hadn’t met a girl that caught his interest so quickly since the girl in the forest at the end of the school year. “It’s recent. Though everyone saw it coming. I’ve been on the team since my second year. Bound to have my pick of pro teams to join.” He bragged a little. Maybe a little more than a little. He was proud of all of the work that he put into this. It was all he wanted and it was all that he had worked towards since he was young and had gone to his very first Quidditch match. "How long have you been playing?" he asked.

He said which house he was in and, of course, it was the one she was sure that she would be in when she got there. She simply nodded, grinning. She liked the idea of a Gryffindor Quidditch team. They sounded intense and fun, and that was her kind of people. He said that everyone saw it coming that he would be captain, and that he had been on the team since second year, and he'd go pro. "You're confident," she giggled. He asked how long she'd been playing and she shrugged, "we kind of just were always playing, my brother and me," she answered. And, like magic, Steve appeared ahead, raising an eyebrow at her for walking around with some guy, of course. She sighed, "I actually might have to skip out on the store. Rain check?" she winked, then ran off to her brother. @sav (the end, haha classic)
