The first date of the summer. That's what this was and Ashley was excited, even though it was a blind date and she was sure her parents probably wouldn't approve. She had no idea who the date was with, what his social status was or anything. To her, that was part of the fun. It was a date with no strings attached, but with every chance of being fun. Despite the fact that she was in a new country, surrounded by new people, Ashley hadn't met many people yet, so she was looking forward to this. She walked into Hip Hop Karaoke, smiling as she looked around. She had no idea what this night was going to entail, but if there was any singing she was definitely game. She looked around, not really sure how she was supposed to know who this guy was that she was supposed to be meeting here. There were so many people. She walked over to an empty table and leaned on it, looking around and trying to spot someone who looked like he was looking for someone.

Sav had signed up for a blind date. The last time he had done so, it hadn’t gone very well for him. In fact, he had ended up with his sister. Half-sister, but still sister. And it had gone surprisingly well. He had needed to talk to her anyway. And now he felt like he had grown as a person. But he had tried again, what was he if not brave? He was a Gryffindor after all - and very proud of all of his Gryffindor traits. Sav entered the club where the sheet said to meet. He had the note in his hand to reference. He was in the right place. Now he had to find his date. He was fairly tall and could see over most of the crowd, however, no one in the club looked even vaguely familiar. Whoever it was wasn’t a Hogwarts student, that was for sure. He saw a blonde sitting alone at a table, she seemed to be waiting for someone, maybe he was that someone. “Pardon me, Miss. You wouldn’t happen to be here from the Blishwick matchmaking service, would you?” he asked. If she was a muggle and had no idea what he was talking about, he hadn’t given away anything that would actually...well.. Give anything away.

This was the part Ashley hated about blind dates. She hated the waiting. She sat in the club, looking around at the people surrounding her. Something she did like was the accents. British accents were so pretty! So at least she had something else she could focus on while she was waiting for her date to show up. Her eyes glanced around the room and she noticed instantly when a cute guy started making his way toward her. He was handsome and seemed confident. He stopped in front of her, asking if she was from the matchmaking service and Ashley grinned at him, "I definitely am," she answered. "I'm assuming you're my date? I'm Ashley, by the way." She looked around the room and then back to him. "You looking forward to this?" He was here, at least, which meant he was willing, but not that he was excited about it. Ash was nervous to get to know him a bit.

The blonde confirmed that she was his date and Sav felt a weight lift off of his shoulders when she did so. He had found her, and she wasn’t his sister! That alone was a pretty big score in his eyes. However, not only was she not related to him, she was fairly pretty too, and had an accent that the Gryffindor found interesting. She was definitely not from this country, he guessed that she was one of the American transfer students who came over to England to get to know the country before school started. Well, he was the perfect person to welcome her, wasn’t he? “Yeah I think I am. I’m Sav.” he introduced himself too. He then took it upon himself to sit down with her. They were on a date, he needed to make himself comfortable, didn’t he? “Um, for the date, yeah sure! For the music thing? Not quite so much. I don’t really sing. But I’m always up for trying new things so we’ll see how it goes.” he said with a laugh. “Can I get you something to drink?” he offered.

Ashley smiled when the boy said he thought he was her date and then introduced himself. "Nice to meet you," Ashley said, really meaning it. Even if he was a pureblood and not the kind of boy she could really be interested in, that didn't mean they couldn't have a fun night. Her smile widened when he said hew as ready for the date, but not as much for the music. "I'm sure you'll do just fine," she emphasized the last two words, teasing him. She might as well see how he'd respond to her flirting. She shrugged a little. "Singing isn't that big of a deal anyway. I'm sure it'll be great." Granted, she felt that way because she was good at singing, but she wasn't going to tell him that. She could surprise him with it later. He asked if he could get her a drink and a mischievous glint entered her eyes. She was only sixteen, so technically underage, but she wasn't going to tell him that if she could get away with it. Besides, she'd been to enough parties in America where the drinks were spiked. She was fine. "Sure! Whatever you want," she said with a grin. "I don't know what you call your drinks here, so just go ahead." This was definitely going to be an interesting night.

Sav almost said that he wasn’t much of a performer, but then something stopped him. He wasn’t much of a performer? Sav MacMillian?! The boy who showed off in any way possible as often as possible wasn’t much of a performer? Sav was the epitome of a performer. He was a Quidditch star, someone who was always willing to do crazy things for attention and someone who loved applause and people screaming his name from the stands. Maybe, it would be better to say that Sav wasn’t much into doing things that he knew he was going to fair at. “I’m an athlete, not a singer.” he admitted with a smirk. His voice was deep and terrible, not to mention that he had no idea about musical notes or tones or anything like that. “Great, I’ll be back then.” Sav stood up and went over to the bar to order for them. He came back with drinks in hand, nothing alcoholic, in the muggle world he still had to be 18 to drink even if 17 was legal age for wizards. And, since this was the first date, he wanted to put on a good impression. “Here you are.” He set the drink down in front of her. It was some fruity lemonade or something, he couldn’t remember. "So, tell me about yourself." he suggested, feeling the slight awkwardness that always accompanied first dates. He was just happy that this time he wasn't with his sister.

Ashley lifted her eyebrows when he said he was an athlete and she couldn't help but grin at him. "You're an athlete? What do you play?" She assumed he played Quidditch, since that was popular here, but she was curious to get to know him a little bit. He was cute and seemed to be really nice and she suddenly found herself glad that she signed up for this in the first place. Then she shrugged a little bit, trying to decide if she wanted to tell him if she was a good singer or not. Then he was gone to get drinks and she thought about it a little more. Maybe she'd tell him a little later, or just show off for him. He came back with the drink, asking questions and she smiled, refusing to let herself feel awkward. "Tell you about myself, huh? That's specific," she teased. "Well, I'm from New York, came here because my school got messed up," she tried to make light of it, to hide how much she was annoyed by that fact. "I have two older brothers and a younger one, I like rain and having fun and trying new things." Ashley shrugged a little bit, "What about you? It's your turn now." She smiled softly.

When Sav had told her that he was an athlete, he figured that would prompt a few questions to come from the blonde sitting next to him. She asked him what he played and he told her, “Quidditch. I’m a beater, and captain this year for the Gryffindor team at Hogwarts.” he said in a quieter voice, since they were surrounded by muggles at a muggle spot in muggle London. He didn’t want to get strange looks from anyone else around them, the place was starting to fill up as the main event for the evening was drawing closer. “Do you play any?” he asked her. Just out of curiosity. Though, if he had to guess, he wouldn’t say that she looked like someone who would play sports.
She told him a bit about herself, about where she was from and why she was here (which he had guessed based on the fact that she was an American), and that she had brothers. He nodded. She then asked him to talk about himself, he shrugged. “I’m from here. I’ve got a brother. A Twin actually. I’m a Gryffindor, which you already know, and Quidditch is my life.” really he didn’t do anything else. Besides eat and sleep. He ran to stay in shape for Quidditch. He worked out to stay in shape for Quidditch. Flirting was something that he did, he had quite the reputation around Hogwarts, but, that wasn’t something to talk about on a first date.

He said that he played Quidditch and Ashley nodded, not entirely surprised by that. Quidditch was popular here, so if he did play a sport ... it was probably that one. She shook her head at his question. "No, I'm terrible at Quidditch," she told him. "I mean, I'm a decent flier, but if you give me a bat and make balls fly at me ... I'm not so good." She paused a moment and then added, "But I do like watching it. I actually get pretty into games ..." yeah, that wasn't something she told just anybody. Ash could get really competitive when she wanted. Why did she tell him that?
She quirked her head to the side when he said he had a twin. That was unique. She grinned at him, "So that's all I need to know about you? You have a twin, are in Gryffindor and obsessed with Quidditch?" Ashley was teasing, and she was sure he would know that. She looked at him a little more carefully. "How do you feel about giving new girls tours? I mean, I'm in a new place and it could be fun to see new places with someone I already know ... provided this goes well, of course." She winked at him confidently.

She admitted that she was awful at Quidditch, and Sav wondered a bit about how she knew the game as well as she seemed to know it. They didn’t play Quidditch in America. They played Quadpot. Maybe she was one of those people who was just into sports and knew about a lot of different sports even if they weren’t played in her country. Or, maybe she had just done her research before she moved to england. That would make sense. He’d look into how Quadpot was played if he ever moved to America. But that would never happen. Savtaj MacMillian was happy to stay in Britain for his entire life. Or, at least Europe. “What about Quadpot? You play that?” he asked. It was a different sport, maybe she was better at it than she thought that she would be at Quidditch.
She teased him a little about his summary of himself, but the honest truth was: that was it. If he wasn’t eating or sleeping he was thinking about Quidditch. So, he just shrugged with a playful smirk on his lips. There really wasn’t much more to tell. Not that he’d tell on a first date, at least. “I’m sure a tour could be arranged.” Sav nodded with the same smirk still plastered on his handsome face. Tour Guide Sav was quite an experience to be had. “Of the castle, grounds, village, you name it.” he teased back.

He looked curious, perhaps a tiny bit confused and Ashley smiled. She liked how that looked. Well, okay she just liked his looks in general, but he seemed like a very confident guy, so she was pretty positive that he wasn't used to being unsure about things. He probably wouldn't look like that again tonight, so she was going to notice it now. Then he asked about Quodpot and she wrinkled her nose before shaking her head and laughing. "No, I'm no good at that either. I can fly, but I'm not good at multi-tasking while I do it." She laughed a little more, "and I'm not really a fan of having a ball blow up in my face." That might make her seem less adventurous to this guy, but oh well. Ashley was going to be entirely honest and see how that went.
Sav was smirking, obviously having just as much fun as she was when it came to teasing and Ashley was glad. She lifted an eyebrow when he said he was sure he could give her a tease. She pursed her lips and pretended to think for a moment. "But what if I need a tour of all those places. Are you too busy for something like that?" It was unlikely that she would really ask him to show her all around Hogwarts, but she might as well gauge and see how interested he would be in something like that. Then she'd be able to determine when she wanted to ask for his help and when not to.

Sav couldn’t help but give a bit of a chuckle as she insisted that she couldn’t fly and play a game at the same time. Fair enough. He was good at those things, but that didn’t mean that everyone would be. “Well someone has to sit in the stands.” he said with a smirk. “Otherwise there would be no one to cheer.” he suddenly got a wave of de ja vu. He had said that before, hadn’t he? Yep. He had. On a date with a girl back in March. It was still just as true now as it had been when he said it in March. Someone needed to wear his name on their shirt and write his number on their face. Otherwise why was he even playing? She then asked about wanting a tour of all of the places that he listed and he smirked, “I’m sure that could be arranged.” he gave a nod and took a swig of his drink.
Music started from the front of the club and a man got on stage announcing the events of the evening. Sav was never one to shy away from anything fun, however, he wasn’t sure that this was necessarily what he would call fun. However, now that he had met his date and actually thought that she was worth trying to impress, he was in his full confidence and very willing to participate. “I’ll go first.” Sav volunteered when the man at the front asked for volunteers. It was a hip-hop karaoke contest, which the Gryffindor was fairly sure that he was going to lose. And even as a competitive person, he was alright with that. This wasn’t his game.

Ashley lifted an eyebrow when he mentioned that they needed people in the stands to cheer. "Oh? So all I'd be good for in the stands is to cheer you on?" She tapped her chin thoughtfully, "I'm not sure if that's enough of a reason for me to want to go to the Quidditch games." Of course, she was planning on it already, since most cute boys would be at the games, and since she wouldn't mind seeing this guy play. With his confidence, he had to be very good. She grinned when he was sure he could arrange showing her all around. "I'm glad," she answered.
Then the music started and some man was announcing the events. He had Ashley's full attention. She fully intended to participate in the karaoke, since it would be fun and she could show off a little for her date, so she wanted to know how they were going to do things. She turned to Sav, impressed when he said that he'd volunteer to go first. "You want to sing on your own or do a duet?" she asked, smirkng just a little. She was good either way, but was interested to see what he wanted. A part of her just wanted to watch him sing, but singing with him could be just as fun. Ashley couldn't make up her mind, but she did know that she was about to have lots of fun.

She made a remark about being in the stands just to cheer him on didn’t seem like a good reason to go to the games and Sav couldn’t help the smirk on his face grow a bit wider, “That’s because you haven’t seen my play yet. Trust me, when you’re there, with my number painted on your face and everyone else screaming and cheering for me, you’ll catch the spirit.” he teased, realizing that she could interpret him as being completely serious. He was serious, but only about half so. “If things go well, maybe I’ll dedicate my match to you.” he added with a playful shrug while he took another swig of his drink.
Once he volunteered to go first, his date asked if he wanted to go on his own or sing a duet, he smirked and stood up from the table, reaching his hand out to her, “if you’re up for it…” he invited her to accompany him to the stage area. He was kind of glad, now, that he was in a club full of muggles. No one here, except for his date, would know him and be able to remind him of how badly he was surely going to humiliate himself.

He was so confident. Ashley absolutely loved it! On some men, this kind of self-assurance was really annoying to her, but with this guy it was so attractive. She smirked right back at him, "And what makes you so confident that your number will be on my face? Are you going to paint it on me yourself?" She quirked an eyebrow at him as another thought occurred to her, "And what if I don't get placed in your house? Don't I have an obligation to cheer for my house team?" She laughed softly when he mentioned possibly dedicating his match to her. "Well I hope you'd only dedicate it to me if things go well ... otherwise I'll have a bunch of Gryffindors mad at me for jinxing you."
Sav stood and extended a hand to her and Ashley smirked as she reached forward and took his hand. "I'm always up for singing," she answered, rising to her feet. "Especially if a handsome guy with a nice accent is my partner." She moved toward the stage, tugging his hand a tiny bit. "Any preference to what song?" She was confident she'd know any songs he did and if not, there was always the screen with the words. Muggles did get some things right.
