When Dom got the owl inviting her to sign up for a blind date, she had her response owl sent in less than five minutes. Dating? Yes! A fun night with all expenses already paid? Of course! The interesting part was that it was a blind date. She'd heard of "blind" dates before where the two ended up knowing one another and knew that was a possibility, but she was curious to see what would happen with this one. Would she know the guy? Would she not? How exactly were they supposed to know who the other person was? Those were some questions she had, but once she arrived at the address ... the Rooftop, more like, she let all her questions go. This kind of an environment was just begging her to have fun. She decided to wait by the entrance for her date, but looked around curiously, an excited grin covering her features as she waited. This was going to be fabulous!

Finn had decided to sign himself up for this Blishwick Blind Date thing on a dare from his cousin Rai. Though of course in the end she'd signed up too, so today they were both on these dates this afternoon. He was to meet his date at a rooftop roller derby, which sounded pretty exciting. Somehow this had never ended up on his list of adventures, so he was thrilled to tick this one off the box. He dressed to impress, as was his style, and wore a maroon button down shirt, perfectly ironed and tailored to fit him, and black slacks with patent leather shoes. He'd of course be changing into roller blades once they got up there, but he liked to make a good first impression. As he walked up to the building, he spotted an insanely gorgeous redhead waiting at the side, and a wide grin spread across his face as he made his way over to her. "If you're my date, then I'm in trouble," he said cheerfully, giving her a slight bow. "Are you here for a night of romantic fun brought to you by Blishwish Matchmaking?" he asked, crossing his fingers behind his back that she was. @dominique

Dom was waiting, looking from side to side when she spotted a familiar face coming nearer. No way. There was no way that Kai from the Appleby Arrows was her blind date. He was an amazing beater, one that she'd admired for years as she practiced her own beating skills. She didn't let on that she knew him, though. She assumed that he got enough of that from people. Then he said that he was in trouble if she was his date and Dom smirked, hardly daring to believe she was going on a date with a famous Quidditch player. Perfect! "I guess you're in trouble then, cause I most certainly am." She twisted her head to the side a bit, almost as if she were sizing him up. "Are you ready to have an adventure?" Dom quirked her eyebrows at him. "Oh, I'm Dom, by the way. Dominique Weasley." He probably already assumed she was a Weasley, thanks to her hear, so she might as well get it out in the open anyway.

The girl flirted right back and Finn knew immediately that he was going to enjoy the night. He could have gotten anyone, from a crazy obsesed fan to someone...boring. She clearly was someone who was here to have a good time, and he would be happy to join her for that. "My dear, I am always ready for an adventure," he told her, taking her hand and pressing his lips to it. Letting her hand drop, he grinned as he heard the name. Ah, a Weasley, that explained the red hair. "Jones, Kai Jones," he introduced, then chuckled. "It's a pleasure to meet you Dom, truly," he told her sincerely. He extended the crook of his elbow to Dominique and they walked to the elevators in order to get to the rooftop. "I actually knew your sister Victoire a little in school. She and her gaggle of friends were a year ahead of me, but good people," he commented, then smiled. "I'm sure you get that all the time - oh you're a Weasley? I know such and such Weasley," he told her with a laugh.
They walked off the elevator onto the rooftop, and Finn had to admit, he was impressed. There were a parameter of igloos surrounding the roller rink in the middle of the roof. He looked over at Dom. "Shall we get drinks first, or shall we go right into roller skating?" he asked her.

Dom couldn't help but grin when he said he was ready for an adventure, and then he lifted her hand and kissed it. "I can see that," she answered once he released her. Man, this was definitely going to be a fun date! Naturally, he recognized her name and she smiled when he gave his. "Nice to meet you as well ... though I have to be honest with you. You have the same name and face as one of my favorite professional beaters," she winked, hoping he wouldn't mind that she recognized him. He should probably be used to that, but she didn't want to come off as obsessed or anything. She wasn't, but he was a beater and so was she ... so she looked up to him a bit. She took his elbow and followed him to the elevator, nodding when he spoke about Vic and then laughing when he commented about everyone knowing a Weasley. "Yeah, you're kind of spot on about that, but I don't mind. I'm used to it by now," she admitted with an easygoing shrug. Everyone knowing one of her family members or another was kind of a way of life for her.
She looked around with interest once they reached the rooftop, distracted from her date for a moment, actually. She couldn't help the mischievous smile that covered his face. This was going to be perfect. Kai spoke and Dom turned to look at him, "Roller skating!" she answered without hesitation. She'd never actually been skating before, but how hard could it be really? She looked around, "Where do we go for the skates?" Dom couldn't hide the enthusiasm she had for this, nor did she want to try to. She wasn't one for hiding her emotions.

Finn chuckled at Dominique’s flirty comment. At least, he thought she was being flirtatious. And why not? They WERE on a date after all, granted a blind date set up by the infamous Jimbo Blishwick, but a date nonetheless. “Oh really? Then I guess I must be him. Do you play yourself?” he asked, grinning broadly at her. She wasn’t like some of the fans he had met before; she seemed to be someone who could control herself in public, which was perfect. Not that Finn had dozens of groveling fans, but he definitely had caught one poking through his rubbish bins recently. How she had found out where he lived was an entirely different story. “Well we don’t have to talk about your family if you don’t want to. Tonight you are simply Dominique,” he stated matter-of-factly, wanting her to know that he would not think of her as a Weasley but as an individual.
Finn laughed at Dominique’s enthusiasm on roller blades. His mother hadn’t been that much of a fan of them, but he’d tried them out once or twice as a kid. He wasn’t that bad - or so he thought. Today would prove if those childhood skills could be put to the test. “Over here,” he said, gently pressing his palm in the middle of her back, not too low to be seen as presumptuous, and guided her over towards the skate rental. He got both of their skates and chose a spot near the rink to tie them onto his feet. “Have you done this before?” he asked her curiously, tying up his laces while looking over at her.

Dom was pleasantly surprised when he laughed a little. So he didn't mind her already knowing who he was? That was nice. Hopefully he wouldn't think she was one of those crazies that stalked their favorite Quidditch players. She grinned and nodded when he asked if she played. "Of course!" Dom shrugged a little, her eyes dancing with humor. "I'm a beater, used to be the Captain of the Ravenclaw team." She didn't mind him knowing. She wasn't going into Quidditch- couldn't really even consider doing it without Ethan, honestly- but she still loved the game and she was good at it. No point hiding that. "I'm nowhere as good as you though," Dom added with a flirtatious wink. He mentioned that they didn't have to talk about her family if she didn't want to and Dom laughed. She didn't mind talking about her family, it just wasn't her first choice when it came to topics of conversation. "If you want to talk about them, I don't mind. Don't worry, I won't let you forget that you're here with me." She was teasing him, not really sure if what she said made sense, but hey! It was Dom and she didn't really worry about those sorts of thinks.
He started leading her somewhere and Dom followed, laughing softly to herself. She knew she really shouldn't be this giddy at the chance to roller skate, of all things, but she also didn't care. She was going to have fun with a guy who looked like he knew to have fun. It would be great! He got skates for them and Dom sat down to put them on. She looked up at him when he asked if she'd been skating before and smirked. It was a good thing she always smiled so much, or her cheeks would probably be hurting right now. "Nope! I'm sure it won't be a problem though." She'd been ice skating, and wasn't that almost the same thing? Maybe not, but when it came to physical activities, Dom didn't normally struggle at all. This was going to be a blast. "You?" she asked him in return.

Finn perked up immensely when Dominique revealed she had been Captain and Beater of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. Now this was someone who clearly understood the fundamental details of his beloved sport, and would be able to follow along in a Quidditch heavy conversation. His type of girl, to be frank. “Oho well look at you!” he said in a complementary manner, grinning widely. “When did you start to play? I got on the team my...fourth year, so played for four years, captained my seventh. Perhaps we played against each other,” he added, not bothering to hide that he was proud of his accomplishments. He had also been recruited to the Arrows immediately after Hogwarts, but that was obvious enough. He wasn’t entirely sure just how old Dominique was either; she had graduated obviously, from the past tense term of Captained, but he didn’t know how long ago that was. Either way, he was pretty sure he would have remembered her if he had been on the opposing team.
Finn laughed as Dominique brightly admitted she had never been rollerblading before. “Well...I’d say think of it like Quidditch, but it’s entirely different,” he started, laughing a little as he began to stand up in his skates. “Instead of a broom between your legs you have wheels on your feet, so the motion of movement is a little different,” he explained. He wobbled a bit as he scooted forward, but laughed at himself. Sure, he knew he could come off as a little cocky sometimes, but he liked to laugh and have fun, even at his own expense sometimes. Turning slightly, he offered a hand to Dominique. “Shall we join the hoards in this roller rink? I promise not to let go until you say so,” he asked with a grin.

He was visibly interested when Dom mentioned that she was a Beater too and she couldn't help but smile widely at him. She liked impressing people and this was turning out to be very fun. She shrugged a little. "I've been playing my whole life. Weasley, remember?" She winked and then chuckled. "I joined the Ravenclaw Team my fourth year as well, so it was the same as you." Dom narrowed her eyes and looked at him carefully. "I don't remember playing against anyone as handsome as you though." Honestly she didn't know how much older he was than her, so she had no idea if she had played against him, but Dom just wanted to have fun, so she was flirting.
She laughed at his explanation of roller skating and then rolled her eyes, "Don't worry about me. I'm good with things like this." At least, when it came to physical activities, Dom rarely had any kind of struggles. It came naturally to her. She watched as he stood and wobbled a little. She should go on blind dates more often, for sure. This was fun! Dom paused for a moment and then stood up, slowly sliding forward and then smirking at him. She felt slightly off balance, but she wasn't going to show it. Dom didn't need to. She was good at faking things like this. He offered his hand to her and Dom shrugged, lifting a teasing eyebrow as he spoke. She took his hand after just a moment, "It sounds like you have everything figured out. Lead the way," Dom said, as she started to roll forward, toward the large group of people.

Finn laughed jovially as Dom commented that he had everything figured out. “Listen Miss Weasley, I always come prepared to a date, especially when it’s with someone as lovely as yourself,” he told her, not hiding the fact that he was flirting. She was a pretty girl, and had a vivacious personality to match. Her hand felt warm in his and he gave it a little squeeze as they rolled forward. He paused before they joined the circle of people skating round and round so that they didn’t get run over immediately. He shifted his weight from left to right as they started skating with the crowd, holding Dom’s hand loosely in case she wanted to let go to do something wild - he had a feeling it could be something she’d be into.
“Well I am twenty four so likely you were wildly cheering for me in the stands when I was playing,” Finn told her with a roguish wink. He was pretty sure Victoire’s sister was several years younger than them, but not too young that they hadn’t crossed paths at Hogwarts. “Perhaps my playing inspired you to join your team,” he added jokingly with a chuckle. He could get a big head sometimes, but he wasn’t completely arrogant. “In all seriousness, what made you decide to play?” he asked as a followup, making sure she knew he was just teasing about him being her idol.

Dom grinned at his flirting, "Oh, but how did you know you'd be with someone as lovely as me? Or do you just prepare for every eventuality?" She laughed, having more fun than she'd had in a while. Kai seemed to like to have fun just as much as she did, so she was excited to see what happened tonight. Once they joined the group, he loosened his hand around hers. Dom wondered for a moment what that was about, but she quickly became distracted. This was easy! She laughed when she realized her natural balance was definitely helping her out. She pulled away a little and spun so she was going backward, aware of how much space she had between her and the nearest people. Dom was really good with spacial awareness. She quirked an eyebrow at him, "You're going a little slower than I expected from a famous Quidditch player," she teased, moving so she was skating right beside him, still going backwards. "How can we make this more interesting?" Dom asked, curious to see what he'd come up with.
Dom laughed as he teased her, "You got me there. When I cheer for people, I go all out," she admitted instantly. She narrowed her eyes at him, "Naw, it couldn't have been you. It was an amazing Gryffindor beater that inspired me." She was taking a guess that he was a Gryffindor, but he seemed the type. Honestly, it was Ethan that got her to join the Ravenclaw team, but Dom was always a fan of Quidditch. Kai didn't need to know that though. She laughed and then shrugged, "My best friend was on the Ravenclaw team and I knew I did pretty good with family skirmishes, so I tried out and made it." Dom spoke casually, as though it wasn't that big of a deal, but being on the Quidditch team meant more to her than most other things.

Finn chuckled. “Because I have good luck when it comes to certain things, and I knew deep down that I’d be paired with someone as lovely as you,” he told her with a wide grin. “And for the record, I was a Gryffindor Beater,” he added, his chest puffing out slightly as if it gave more confirmation. Ah, the good old days of the Inter-house Quidditch challenge. Finn had been silly to think that the competition in between the Hogwarts houses was anything like in professional Quidditch. Of course, he may have aided in that one; during one interview after a big game, he had sort of….bad mouthed one of the other players on the Wasps, and she had taken it quite personally. They’d had a fierce sort of rivalry since then, both on and off the field. Finn was friendly with most other players off the field, but there was always the air of tension whenever she was around.
At Dominique’s challenge, Finn’s face set in complete determination. “Oh, going too slow am I?” he questioned, beginning to skate faster while she kept pace. He thought of how to make things a bit more interesting and then snapped his fingers together. “Have you ever played a game called snake?” he asked, taking a tighter hold on her hand as he began to explain. “Basically, its a game where you weave through people, and when you find one you grab their hand, making the ‘snake’ chain of people larger. If we can convince enough people we could probably get a pretty big snake going,” he suggested. “First thing is first though; do you want to lead or do you want to follow and add onto the snake?” he asked, letting her choose which she wanted to do.

Dom merely smirked and gave a light shrug when he said he knew that he'd be on a date with someone pretty. Sure he did. She wasn't going to fight him though, she was having far too much fun with this. She lifted her eyebrows and made an overly surprised expression when he said he was a Gryffindor Beater. "Noooo," she dragged the word out and fought to keep herself from grinning. "You mean to say that you might have been my inspiration?" She looked him over again, narrowing her eyes. "I mean ... it might've been. I can't seem to remember." Dom was having more fun than she'd had in a while.
However, she couldn't keep her smile away when his expression became determined and he moved faster. She had no problem keeping up, but enjoyed the wind rushing by her face, playing with her hair. She turned to look at him when he snapped and then lifted a curious eyebrow, not saying anything. She didn't need to, for he started explaining in the next instant. He asked what she wanted to do and Dom laughed. If he'd ever met her before, there would have been no question. "Lead, of course!" She winked at him, "Not going to lie, I'm not very good at following." Dom tipped her head to the side, still skating, "So are you going to be holding onto my hand and following, or convincing others to join and then be somewhere in the middle yourself?" She might as well try to understand what exactly was going to happen, since she was a little bit confused about it.

Finn laughed. “I’ll be holding your hand the entire time and be the one instigating the first person to join us. Then it’ll catch on and hopefully we can create just one giant snake,” he explained, hoping that it would make more sense now. He gave her hand a squeeze, signalling it was time to begin. They skated forward, Finn scanning the crowds to find the perfect person to add to their snake. He finally decided on a pair that were skating and chatting. Grinning, as they passed by them, Finn grabbed the hand of one of the girls. “Join the snake!” he called with a laugh. The girl joined in the laughter and grabbed her friends hand to make a chain of four.
Pretty soon there was a chain of at least twelve people gliding behind them; the sounds of shrieks and laughter filling the air. “Take a look back and see our handiwork!” he called to Dominique as another person joined the chain. They would be taking up most of the rink at this rate, so Finn decided it would be a good time to break off from the group now. “Shall we go get some food?” he asked her loudly, hearing his stomach rumble in agreement.

Dom grinned as Kai explained what they were going to do. It sounded like fun, and she would definitely enjoy leading a large snake of people around the place. He caught on to her personality quickly, which was a point in his favor. She started when he squeezed her hand and before she knew it there were a bunch of people following her. Dom laughed. A real laugh. She hadn't felt so free for a while. At least, not with all the attacks and Ethan's death and everything. It was nice to be able to relax for a bit, even if it wouldn't last long. She looked back and grinned at the man who planned this.
He told her to see what they did and Dom looked past him, her smile widening as she did so. He asked if she wanted to get food and Dom nodded. She was always game for food, and he wouldn't have asked if he wasn't hungry as well. She knew that much about people. "Sounds like a great idea to me!" She turned sharply, tugging on his hand and expecting him to break from the chain. Since she was at the beginning, she wasn't in charge of that. She laughed as she saw all the people still on it. "That was great," Dom commented. Then she looked up at Kai. "Where's the food?" she asked, cocking her head to the side.
