Aug. 10th

Well, Andy was living at the Winsdors super fancy apartment penthouse thing now, and wasn't sure if she'd ever be moving back to the Leaky or Longbottom Manor. Phil was living at the Manor, so she probably wouldn't go there just for their own sanitys sake, and it was nice being here and going to work with Susan every day. Plus, Will was here and he had been good company for Andy this summer. It was fun, going on random dates to play croquet, ride horses, row a boat -- they did a bunch of hilarious things that Andy found to be flashy and gaudy, but it suited the way both of them were raised. With lots of money and fancy things. The dates had almost been a joke for them, to see how many cliches they could get away with. They'd even gone in public enough that one or two pictures of them in the muggle magazines. It was all just funny, and Andy knew now that Susan had asked him to do it -- but that didn't make it any less fun.

Today, she had come home from work early, having only had a half day at work, and left Susan a note at the Ministry explaining that she'd already be at home. She got all settled in the living room with her new violin beside her when she opened the case and saw Anna and Oscars wedding invitation on top of the violin. Right! She had put it in there so she'd remember to get a date!

Will was just doing his own stuff today. He didn't have anything to do with Parliament or the Order and he didn't have a job, so it was easy for him to just take a day off to do whatever. He walked into the sitting room to find Andy there, holding something in her hand and standing near an open violin case. "Hey beautiful," he joked, that was kind of their thing this summer anyway. It was like they were fake dating, and they both were getting quite the stress relief out of it so it was a good thing to do with their time. Plus, Andy was pretty and that was always a nice bonus.

He crossed over to her, "what's that? A love note, for me?" he teased. He stopped a few feet away from her, his eyes surveying the violin. He actually had forgotten that she played, but he vaguely remembered her doing something with it at school back in the day.

Andy looked up at Wills voice and laughed, shaking her head. "No, cocky," she said, turning the invitation around to hold it up for him to see, "it's an invitation to a wedding. Annelise Weasley," she explained. Then it dawned on her. Duh. Who had she been going on dates with all summer? Not that they were really interested in each other, but they had fun together, so why not? "Hey, did you want to go with me? As my date? Could be fun. We could dress all fancy and dance, and Jamie will be there," she said wiggling her eyebrows at him a little. She laughed. Will had mentioned Jamie, not in detail but... he had mentioned her. He'd also mentioned another girl, but he didn't give her name for some reason. Maybe mystery was the fun part of that relationship.

She called him cocky and he gasped in mock indignation, "rude," he said, pointing a finger at her firmly. He nodded when she said what the paper was and stepped forward to take it, getting a better look, "she looks really happy. I bet these past two months have been hard for her... and him," he guessed the guy was French from the last name and maybe even was a Beauxbatons student, wait... he was the Beauxbatons student. Will had read his name in the report about the survivors. He frowned a little, but then looked past the invitation to Andy when she asked about being his date. He smirked, "Andromeda Les- no, Longbottom," he corrected, "are you asking me on a date? I must say, I wasn't expecting this turn of events," he chuckled, lowering the invitation to take another step toward her. "I'd love to, my lady," he said, reaching to take her hand. He was about to lift it to his lips but he raised an eyebrow at her, "what's that look for?"

He talked about how happy Anna looked and Andy nodded, then frowned a little as well about how hard the last few months must have been for both of them. Then he lowered the invite, looking at her and teasing her for asking him to go with her. She rolled her eyes but was smiling as he chuckled. He said yes, and his hand took hers, and for some reason she felt like her heart was leaping into her throat.

His blond hair caught the light and for a brief moment she saw Phil standing in front of her. She caught her breath, her eyes widening and suddenly feeling misty. She didn't want to get back together with Phil, no, they would both grow better apart but something about the way Wills hand felt in hers reminded her of how it good it felt to be in love. It also felt good to kiss people -

Holy crap, she was kissing William Winsdor.

Edmund walked into their family apartment, looking for his older brother. That in and of itself wasn't a very normal thing, even now. Will and Ed finally got along most days now, but he rarely went looking for his older brother. However, this was kind of an emergency and he didn't know who else to go to. Not Susan for sure because he was pretty sure this was all her fault! At least, half of it was her fault. The thing was, after Addi came and visited him the other day, Ed started to realize that he might could possibly potentially like her as more than just a friend ... but seriously though, he was starting to feel something for his best friend. THEN to make life even more complicated he got this letter from the Blishwick Matchmaking Services saying that he was signed up for a blind date in a few days. What the h*ll?! Of course Susan would sign him up for something ridiculous like this right when he didn't want it ... though if he was being completely honest with himself, he never wanted it. He didn't need his older sister to interfere in his dating life. Ever.

"Will?" he called, but not really loudly. For all he knew the Lestrange girl was here and he was supposed to be nice to her. Did yelling for his brother make him not nice? "Will?" Ed's voice was a little louder, but there was no response. He rolled his eyes and started walking through the apartment instead of shouting like he wanted to. "Will!" He called again as he opened the door to the sitting room, trying to keep his emotions in check. He wasn't mad at Will, he was mad at - woah. Edmund's eyes widened and his jaw fell open for a moment when he walked in to see Will standing there, kissing her and holding her hands ... or was that her waist? Why did Ed care?! What the h*ll was Will doing?! Was this what the two were doing all alone together this summer? He knew they'd been going on dates, but he assumed it was Will keeping his promise to Susan and being nice to the girl. 

"Sorry," Ed grunted, though he doubted they'd notice. He pivoted quickly, exiting the room and pulling the door shut a little harder than he meant to. It slammed. He stalked towards the front door, thoroughly ticked off. Who was he supposed to talk to now? Stupid siblings.

She was kissing him. Okay, okay. He dropped the invitation and instinctively took her waist, pulling her closer and kissing her back. What? He was a guy and she was a girl and she was kissing him and they were close, it was okay to kiss people you were close to. Maybe not if he was actually officially dating someone else, but he wasn't yet... in all fairness he wasn't really thinking, just kissing.

He didn't hear someone calling his name, it was like the ocean was rushing into his ears. Or maybe it was just the sound of Andy's breathing. The door opened and Will didn't quite hear it, but Andy did. "Jam- wait-" his eyes were still closed for a second and then they shot open.

It was like he had vanished into a very, very weird parallel universe for a second.

He turned to look, hand still in Andys but the one that was at her waist had dropped. "Ed, hey-" but his brother was turning to leave the room, slamming the door. He turned back to Andy, making eye contact with her and then broke into a very, very loud laugh.

Thank goodness someone opened the door. Andy pulled away quickly, catching her breath. Her eyes shot toward Edmund and she felt terrible that he had just witnessed that very, very strange moment. She frowned and turned back to Will, but he started to laugh. Then she did, too, just as loudly. They were still clasping hands, tightly now, as they laughed, barely able to contain themselves.

"You-" he paused, "you should go after him," she said between laughs. Pressing her free hand against her chest to try and calm herself down. "We'll talk about all about the wedding later, and the fact that you did not call me by my name just then," Jam, he had said. "Go," she said, releasing his hand.

He nodded at her words, "yes, okay. Fair. Wedding -- yes, I'm in. Remind me when I get home and I'll put it on my calendar. As for the other thing... yeah... we'll talk about that," he was still laughing, then she released his hand and he stepped forward to kiss her cheek, briefly. He pulled back at quickly tapped the tip of her nose with his finger, "now don't kiss me again, Andromeda. I've got someone in my sights, you know this," he teased before turning to run after Ed, leaving the door open behind him.

What. A. Day.
