Dinosaurs. Okay, Edmund liked dinosaurs, that was for sure. However, he had no idea how he got set up on a blind date for one. He'd never even heard of Blishwick Matchmaking Services until he got an owl telling him when and where his date was. Where did they get his name in the first place? Wasn't this sort of thing supposed to be volunteer based? From the way his older sister skirted around him, Ed had his suspicions. He guessed he'd see how it went and then he'd rib Susan about this. Confronting her about it now was probably not the best move. After all, it shouldn't be such a big deal spending a few hours with a stranger. He was taught from an early age how to act polite and charming, no matter the circumstance. And who knew? Maybe he'd even be able to have some fun with it.
He waited outside the Crystal Palace, looking around curiously. Who was he meeting here? He couldn't help but wonder if it was someone he knew or not ... though since he didn't send the application he had no idea what was on it. Susan might have included a list of people that he knew or something. Oh well. He looked around curiously with a smile on his face, ready to get started.

Celeste had not been in London long enough to know where she was going. She hadn't been in London long enough to know anyone to ask where she was going either so she ventured out to find this place the only way she knew how: on her own. Not knowing people was the whole reason she was doing this anyway. Her and her family had arrived in London a week ago to check out the city considering she was going to have to call it home during the next school year. She'd seen the ad for a blind dating service in the paper and thought it'd be a great way to meet someone. Not for love, she wasn't interested right now anyway. She did want to meet someone, anyone so that she wouldn't be going into Hogwarts totally blind. Like an inside source. So she filled out the application and sent it in. The time it took for her to get matched made her laugh. Literally two days later she had her letter in hand for the date and time for her meeting. She didn't want to call it a date because that wasn't what it was. It was a meeting. She was meeting with her source. Finding the park hadn't been too difficult. And she hadn't even had to stop to ask anyone. When she arrived, she took a quick look around, trying to see if anyone screamed 'blind date' to her; someone who was probably overdressed and all too ready to meet the love of their life. Everyone else around looked as if they knew where they were going. All except one anyway. A guy stood not too far away with a smile on his face. He wasn't overdressed but he did look eager. Better get any misconceptions out of the way. She approached him, an all-business look settled on her face. When she got near, she stuck her hand out for him to shake. "You must be the person I'm supposed to meet with. I'm Celeste." Tag; @edmund

It was a nice day and Edmund was all ready to get this date started, still trying to be positive about the entire thing. Why did his sister feel the need to meddle in his life? The thing was, he was pretty sure that he was falling for his best friend, which was yet another reason why he didn't want to be here. But he was, because it was the polite thing to do and he didn't want to leave anybody hanging. Hopefully whoever his date was wasn't going to be too enthusiastic.
Even with those thoughts, Edmund was definitely surprised when a girl walked up to him, stuck her hand out and introduced herself. He couldn't help but lift an eyebrow at her businesslike demeanor. Was she going to be like this the entire date? He hoped not, since that didn't sound like it would be fun at all. He took her hand a shook it firmly before releasing it, still smiling. "I'm Edmund," he introduced himself. Then he gestured to the building behind him. "Are you ready to get started?" Man, he hoped she relaxed a little, or this date might drag on for him. Then he really would have to kill his older sister.

Rocky watched as the guy raised his eyebrow; what he thought about her was written clear on his face and it actually made her want to laugh. Her eyes lit up in momentary amusement but she didn’t allow herself to break her persona. She needed to stay formal, professional. Even still, his smile returned and he shook her hand firmly while introducing himself as Edmund. Normal enough for her. Rocky followed the gesture of his hand as he pointed to the building they were standing in front of and she nodded at his inquiry. "Sure. I haven’t been in London that long so I’ve never heard of this place," she began walking towards the footpaths that started their trek around the park towards the statues. She was pretty sure this was a no-maj part of town too, which in her opinion was equally interesting and frustrating. She’d wanted to meet with someone so she could ask more about Britain’s magical world and Hogwarts but it would be a bit difficult if they were going to be surrounded by no-majs. She was still looking forward to seeing all of the dinosaurs though. Her steps were leisurely as she walked and hoped he kept up behind her. There was barely any heat around, to her anyway, but she was used to Southern Heat and considering how far up north they were she didn’t expect to ever experience heat like back at home. Once her feet hit the trail she took a deep breath and started the line of questioning she’d planned out. "So how old are you? Are you in school?" she asked casually.

She seemed almost determined not to smile and Ed found himself getting slightly more annoyed. Why did she sign up for this? Wasn't the point of a blind date to get to know someone and make a good impression? Granted, she might not have signed herself up, since that's what happened to him, but at least he was trying to make it into a positive thing. However, it was somewhat of a relief that he wasn't going to have someone thinking that he was in love with them after one date. He'd heard about how some girls got like that and really hoped his date wouldn't be. Apparently he'd gotten his wish. He nodded when she said she was ready. "I've lived here my whole life and I've never gone inside," he admitted after a moment, trying to avoid awkward silence. Edmund might not be the best conversationalist, but being Royalty had it's ... well, he didn't want to call them perks, but he supposed that was what others would label them as. At least he knew how to talk with people. Then she started asking questions and he answered them. "I'm sixteen, about to enter my seventh year at Hogwarts. What about you?" He assumed, from her accent, that she was one of the transfers from Ilvermorny, but he'd let her explain that herself. At least it was something else they could talk about.

"You've lived here all of your life? Where are some of the best places to go?" she asked him suddenly at what she felt was a perfect segue to her next question. Everything was going just as she'd wanted it to go. She'd wanted to get more information about what she was getting herself into in the UK and that is exactly what she was going to get with her planned out lines of questioning. Sure, she venturing out on her own was always interesting but if she could go out with as much information as possible, why not do that? She'd done her own research before her and her family had come out to the UK but she'd prefer asking someone who'd lived there a long time. It was one of the things she'd learned from journalism. Research only took you so far. He answered her first question, saying that he was sixteen and going into his later year at Hogwarts. He was a little bit older but that was okay, great even. Being older definitely meant he'd had more time and experience at Hogwarts so he would have more information to give her. "I'm fifteen. I'm actually from Ilvermorny, if you couldn't tell by my accent. But I'll be in my fifth year when I go to Hogwarts. I'm sure we'll see each other around" she commented with a nod. They were approaching what she assumed was the first set of statues. Even from where they were she could see a few of them sitting in a gated pond. "Hmm that's interesting. How to do you feel about dinosaurs?" That one wasn't really planned but it was appropriate considering what they were doing.

She asked him where the best places to go were and Edmund shrugged a little, not really sure what to say. If she wanted to know about the muggle tourist attractions, he could tell her all about those, but when it came to magical places he didn't know much. "It depends on what you're looking for," he hedged. "Are you more interested in magical sites or muggle ones." Please say muggle, please say muggle! Granted, he wasn't particularly trying to impress her, but he would look like an idiot if he didn't know magical sites. Then it would also make it obvious that he was muggleborn. He had no idea whether or not that would matter to her, but it mattered to some and he didn't really want to make an enemy out of his blind date just because of his blood status. He nodded, a little surprised when she said she was only fifteen. Maybe that's why she came here obviously not wanting something romantic, which was completely fine by him. He smiled when she mentioned being from Ilvermorny and him probably already knowing that because of her accent. "I'm sure we will," he agreed. "What kinds of classes are you taking?" Not that they would have any together, but he was curious. The classes one took said quite a bit about them, Ed thought. He smiled when she asked about dinosaurs. "I was fascinated by them as a child," he admitted, "My father got me all sorts of dinosaur books and toys for me, so I know a little bit about them, but it's been a while since I've looked at any of that stuff." Mostly because looking at it made him think of his father, which he didn't want to do ... but she didn't need to know that. "Do you like them?"

She frowned just a little when he shrugged at her question, thinking that he wasn’t going to answer because he didn’t have any information for her to give. It could definitely be possible considering how much information she’d already gathered just by researching on her own. When he asked her whether she meant muggle sites or magical sites, she turned to him with a smi8le on her face. "Both! Definitely both. I want to get to know this place as much as possible. If I have to live here I want to know it as if I’ve lived here for a while." she’d started off her sentence extremely excited at the prospect of learning both muggle and magical points of interest but after realizing she was a little too excited and probably weirded the guy out a bit, she cleared her throat and spoke calmly. She’d just expected him to offer magical places anyway but muggle ones too, that would be perfect. Considering he’d lived in London his entire life he’d know for sure the best places. She was still staring at the dinosaur statues when as he asked her about the classes she would be taking at Hogwarts. She figured all of the usual one, she was only going to be in fifth year after all. "All of the core classes of course along with Native American Magic, Dueling, and Home Ec. You?," she listed off her classes like it was no big deal before turning the question back around on him. Another question that wasn’t quite on the agenda but that was okay too. He was her source. It wouldn’t be too bad to get to know more about her source. Where she could find him if she needed him. Actually that would work out perfectly. He talked about how he used to be into dinosaurs when he was younger and she wondered if it was just age that pulled him out it. That was usually the thing to do it. They still liked them enough but didn’t really speak about it. Other interests took over. "Not as much as most people. I mean they’re pretty cool but I’m not obsessed or anything." It was on to the next one for her. She started following the path once again and looked behind her just to make sure he was following.

She was so excited at the idea of having someone show her both muggle and magical places and Edmund couldn't help but smile just a little at her enthusiasm. "Well then I'm definitely someone that can help you out. I've spent quite a bit of time on both sides." Honestly though, ever since he learned he was a wizard he spent as much time as he could getting to know them, while on the flip side he'd always liked getting out of the house and seeing muggle sights when he was growing up. Before his father was killed. "Do you care which one we start with?" He wasn't exactly sure if she was wanting him to show her around today or another day, but he'd ask that question in a bit.
As he continued to look at the dinosaurs, Ed nodded when she explained her classes. Then he shrugged, "I'm taking the main courses as well, and also flying and Care of Magical Creatures." He preferred flying out of those two, but the creatures were pretty interesting most of the time.
Okay so she didn't like dinosaurs as much as he had as a child. At least she knew what they were. That was definitely a bit plus. He chuckled softly, "Well I'm glad you think they're cool. That means this won't be an entirely boring date." He thought that dates had more to do with just the company. If you weren't interested in the activity, it was often no fun. He smirked when they arrived at the next dinosaur, "Do you know what this one is?" He couldn't help but tease. This one was pretty well-know. Triceratops, one with three horns on its head. He wouldn't mind if she didn't know, but he was curious.

Rocky's eyes lit up with pure excitement that she couldn't quite contain. Her face stretched into a bright smile. They couldn't have chosen a better source for her if she had picked him herself! He said he had experience with both the wizarding and muggle worlds, spent time in both of them, which was perfect. It was exactly what she needed from her source. He would have the best information, the best of both worlds, and all of the secrets. And if he didn't have them already he would have access to them so that she could be able to obtain them herself. She clasped her hands together, shaking her head side to side when he asked if she cared which one they started at. "No, not at all! Take me everywhere! Show me everything you know!" she felt so much more excited about the date now. He mentioned his class schedule and she nodded once again, making a mental note of everything so she would know where to find him if she needed to. It was a good thing too, she needed to be able to get into contact with her source when ever she needed new information. Hopefully though, with this outing, she'd be able to find out as much as she could so she wouldn't have to contact him a lot. They reached the next dinosaur on the path and she looked it over though barely paying attention to it because she was itching to get out of there to find all of the places he knew to be points of interest. Apparently the Crystal Dinosaur palace wasn't one of those places because he hadn't come there before. "It's a Triceratops of course. Look, dinosaurs are cool and everything but let's get out of here! I would love to go see the places you know today! We're already out so why not?" she was trying to sound stern and take control of the conversation but she only sounded excited and ready go. She grabbed onto his arm and tugged on him back the way they'd come. Luckily they hadn't walked too far from the entrance. "Lead the way Edmund!"

She was obviously excited, but Ed wasn't entirely sure why. It was obvious that she was glad that he was willing to help her out with showing him around, so that was a good thing. He smiled when she said that he should take her everywhere, then couldn't help but laugh a little. Since it was obvious she wasn't trying to date him or anything, he was definitely willing to participate. "Okay. Sounds like a plan then." He wasn't really sure if she wanted to be here, but he was glad that he felt more comfortable now. He smiled when she named the dinosaur and then laughed as she continued. "Alright, let's go then. Anywhere specific you'd like to go first?" He was walking towards the entrance with her now, not really sure where to head first. He wasn't quite sure what to do, since he'd never been in a situation like this before. He wasn't really good at improv ... ugh, why was this complicated? He waited to see what she wanted to do.

Of course, she had done some research before she’d come to England on interesting landmarks, wizarding and not, but when he suddenly asked her where she wanted to go, she drew up a blank. He was asking for somewhere specific from her even though she’d asked him for advice, which made her frown just a little bit. Her research rushed back to her in a sudden and gasped, grabbing on to him in her excitement. "Oh I know! You have got to take me to the Daily Prophet," she demanded anxiously. Sure, a newspaper headquarters wasn’t the first thing most people wanted to see and, most definitely, the Daily Prophet wasn’t the best newspaper to exist, wizarding world and muggle word publications included. It was the wizarding world newspaper in England and if she was going to be living here for the next year, she wanted to see what she’d be dealing with. She’d gotten her hands on a one or two old prints but she was interested in what the Headquarters looked like. That would be the decided factor for her. Or, one of the deciding factors on if she approved or not. "I want to go inside and see what it looks like. We should be able to do that, right?" She really wanted to. She was going to get to see it one way or another, that was for certain. "Have you been there? What’s it like? Do you read the Daily Prophet?" she asked her questions quickly before realizing that she’d gotten away from herself. Clearing her throat she straightened up and put her serious face back on. She needed to act like a professional! ”I mean the Daily Prophet building could be a good start and then just show me other stuff around there that would be useful." It wouldn’t be a bad idea at all to use the Daily Prophet headquarters as a point of reference for where other things were located. Especially if she liked the headquarters.

She was frowning for a second, but then her excitement came back and Edmund smiled in response. He nodded at her suggestion. "Okay, the Daily Prophet it is!" Celeste went on, explaining how she wanted to go inside and look around. "Yeah, I think we can do that." He wasn't exactly sure of that, but he couldn't see why the Daily Prophet people wouldn't want others to come inside. It'd be more publicity, which was always a good thing right? He shook his head at her next question. "I haven't gone inside, but I've seen the building. So I guess we'll both be seeing it for the first time." His shoulders moved up and down. "I read it sometimes. When I'm in the mood, or when I know something big is happening." That was honest, as least. Ed wasn't really into the paper, but he knew it was important to lots of other people. He smiled. "Good starting place. I can show you around there. It'll be fun!" He was excited to see her reaction to the place, even though he'd never been there. At least it would be an interesting date, and he'd probably see some new things as well.Ed led them outside and around the building, going to a place where no one could see them and held out a hand to her. "I can apparate ... it's faster than walking?" he shrugged, waiting to see if she'd want him to apparate them there, or if she'd rather walk. Either way, he'd do whatever she wanted, but since she was so excited he might as well get her there as quickly as possible. If she wanted that, at least.

She clasped her hands together in excitement when he agreed to go to take her to the Daily Prophet headquarters as well as going in with her. She could go to the building by herself but she felt like he was her guide now and he couldn’t just abandon her. The thought suddenly shifted in her head when he admitted he’d never been into the building himself, which she couldn’t understand why. Even if she wasn’t as into journalism as she was she would have at least tried to visit every wizarding building that she could. Wizarding areas weren’t that big; they couldn’t be at the risk of discovery by no-majs. It was nice not to feel like a complete newbie somewhere but his quality as a source had gone down a teensy bit. It was when he mentioned apparating to the area that her eyes lit up once again. She couldn’t apparate yet herself, they hadn’t taught her at Ilvermorny because she was still too young to learn, in their eyes, not hers. It was such a useful tool that she felt like people should learn when they were ready. The fact that he could fixed any previous thought of him not being a good source. "Ooh let’s apparate! The faster we get there, the more places we’ll be able to see," she nodded quickly, grabbing onto his arm once again. This time it was deliberate, preparing herself for apparation. It would be the first time she’d ever done it with someone who wasn’t a family member. It made her feel slightly cautious. "Wait, how good are you at apparating? Have you ever side-long apparated with someone?" she asked? It would be just her luck for her to get splinched. Maybe the hospital was nearby the Daily Prophet? Her parents would be upset though and that was the last thing she wanted right now. They might regret allowing her to come to Hogwarts. "Just pretty please don’t lose focus. I need my arms to write," she sighed before linking her arm with his once again and closing her eyes.

It was interesting how their conversation had changed the girl's interest. When he first saw her approaching him, Ed dreaded the date and what was to come. She obviously hadn't signed up to find the love of her life, which was fine with him, but he sort of wished the person he had to go on a date with was at least interested in it. Now that they had a plan and were leaving the museum he realized she was interested. Not in him, which one again was fine, but in the magical sites he could show her. Ed wasn't an expert, but he'd do what he could.
He smiled at her obvious excitement when he said that he could apparate. It was one of his favorite things that he'd learned last year and every time he had the opportunity to apparate somewhere he did. She grabbed his arm, agreeing that apparating would be faster and then they'd be able to see more. That was fine with him. He laughed when she started to ask about his apparition skills. "I'm very good, and yes I have. I took my sister to Diagon Alley with me from our house." He lifted an eyebrow at her curiously, wondering if that would be good enough for her. She was already telling him to go ahead. He chuckled again. "It'll be fine." He thought a moment and spun on his heel and the next instant they were in Diagon Alley. Ed glanced over at Celeste. "See? I told you it'd be fine. Wanna go to the Daily Prophet first?" He was already walking in that direction, but if she changed her mind, he could take her somewhere else instead.
