Rocky didn't answer the girl's muttered question as they entered about the stacks considering she was certain the answer had to be most definitely. Just standing outside of the shop and hearing the explosions her cousin was making just trying to choose a wand, that definitely wasn't the first time that had happened and she was certain that had probably been even worse accidents from young wizards and witches picking out their wands. Unless the wand maker had some kind of spell on the boxes to keep them solid and in place, she was sure the boxes fell on a daily, if not, hourly basis from one explosion or another. Her cousin was there with the wand maker; she assumed they were going to to be done pretty soon so it would be their turn next. ”Let's just hope for the best. You'll get your wand in no time and I'll get mine in no time. No explosions.” She said the words, trying to put that energy out into the universe and hoping that it obliged. She really didn't want there to be any trouble when she chose hers. Annika mentioned having her parents with her when she chose her wand, saying that it was the third or fourth wand that had been the final choice for her. She wondered then if Ilvermorny had let her bring a wand in; most students only got theirs when they attended the school. The wand maker chose then to come over to the two of them, greeting and looking between the two of them. ”She can go first, she was here before me,” she offered before waving Annika forward. She wanted to watch the process first anyway so she was perfectly fine in letting her companion go first.

Now they were actually going into the small shop, Annika's eyes were eagerly taking in all that she could see - even if most of what she could see were simply stacks and stacks of wands. Piles of them were well.. everywhere basically - it was a wonder that there was even room for them to move around and stand without bumping into a stack of wand boxes. But - it was still facinating all the same and the small redhead couldn't help but smile as she saw her cousin was done and her Aunt was paying for the new wand. Annika nodded at Rocky's words, a small giggle escaping at the last two words, "True... no explosions." she gave a tiny grin, she did miss her parents and wondered if this would be similiar to her last time or not. She knew how she had gotten her wand had been a little different than some others had after all.
Her thoughts were shook when she noticed the wand maker approaching, but it was Rocky's words that sparked her attention, "A-Are you sure?" She was honestly feeling a little nervous now but with Rocky waving her forward she unconciously moved, taking a step first with a small nod, "Okay - I'm first then." Her shoulders straightened as she was gestured closer - and without saying another word the wand maker was muttering and looking through boxes before a wand was jostled into her hand. "Okay.." Annika mumbled, giving a tiny wave of the wand only to give a small yelp as a flurry of sparks escape the wand - and then the wand was quickly taken away and placed back into a box.
With a small look of confusion she glances at the other girl, this was certainly a bit of a strange experience.

The apprehension that went through the younger girl just as the wandmaker approached was quite visible in her stance and in her eyes. It wasn’t that nerve wracking to Rocky. It was just something new to experience. She could understand why the girl felt the way she did though, especially with the way the wandmaker approached the two of them. She nodded, bidding her to go first just so she could watch the way the wand pairing worked and the wandmaker went off to one of the many piles, pulling out one of the indistinguishable boxes and handing her the wand that lay inside. She held her breath, curious if the wandmaker would get it right on the first try, if the wand would accept the redhead as its new owner. With just a wave, sparks flew out of the wand and Rocky held her hands up to her eyes to shield them from the sudden burst of light. She knew the coast was clear when she heard the wandmaker mumbling about that one not being quite right, so she uncovered her eyes and offered Annika a small smile. ”That’s only the first one. I know most people don’t match with the first wand that they’re handed,” she offered the words for support though she said them in a straightforward manner. She really hoped she got lucky again and matched hers on the first try. She knew it was unlikely but that didn’t stop her from hoping once again that it’d be over quickly. The wand maker grabbed another black box and pulled out another pretty wand, examined it, gave Annika a once over and handed it to her. Celeste held her breath in wait once again to see if this would be the one she’d match with. She’d always been a little bit curious about wandlore, why people matched with the wands that they did but she never pursued the interest fully. As long as she had her wand she was fine. Now she wanted to start her own matching just so she could have her own wand again.

Annika was doing her best to be brave right now, to not show just how overwhelmed and nervous she was feeling - it wasn't completely working of course but, it was helping a little as she managed to not turn into a mess of nerves and anxieties. Her back straightened as she glanced back, feeling a little better knowing that she wasn't alone - of course her cousins weren't too far away but, Annika as much as she loved them, often felt a little ... odd, compared to them. She may have only just met Rocky but she felt a odd strength in the other girls presence, it was oddly comforting and the red haired girl wasn't going to question it all that much.
As the first wand was quickly snatched from her hand, she blinked quickly - trying to adjust her eyes after almost being blinded. She shook her head quickly, blinking once more and then there was a second wand placed into her hand, "Maybe second time is the charm?" She mumbled it mostly to herself before giving a small swish - almost dropping the wand though as a loud crack sounded before several boxes went flying towards her. "Nope!" she yelped and quickly handed it back to the wand maker, her eyes wide as she takes a quick step back, almost bumping into Rocky.
"I really don't think that wand liked me too much." she glances back at the wand maker who seemed to be oddly excited by the reaction that she had caused with the last wand, already he was moving to grab another one for her to try - this one seemed to be the same kind of wood as the previous one, but as he spoke of it being different - a different core most likely, she offered a slightly wary smile before reaching out to give it a try. She was more nervous now, but hopefully this would be the the one.

Just before Annika raised the wand to give it a try, Rocky hoped it would be the right fit when a thunderous crack rang out through the shop and Rocky covered her ears suddenly at the deafening sound, a wince on her face. She watched as Annika jumped and then quickly held the wand out for the maker to take from her, clearly frightened by the sound she’d just produced. The wandmaker, though, seemed oddly excited about the sound Annika had produced. Whether that meant they were closer to getting it right or not, Rocky didn’t know. She had to uncover her ears suddenly as well when the girl stepped back suddenly as well, almost bumped into her. Her hands went out instinctively as if to catch her before she fell. Once she’d righted herself, she went back to watching the interactions of the wandmaker. This made her a bit worried for what would happen when it was her turn. Would the wand maker be this creepy with her? Either way, she was definitely questioning the abilities of the wandmaker; the ones back in the States definitely did a much better job with matching witches and wizards with their wands. ”Or maybe it’s the direct opposite of that. Maybe it liked you too much. It’s just a matter of time now though.” Once again, her words were offered in support. She watched the wandmaker approach with another wand and willed herself not to wince just before Annika took hold of it. Maybe the sounds would get progressively louder. She could only hope that the third time really was the charm. And once again hope that her matching wouldn’t be filled with loud noises and blinding lights.

The sound had certainly startled her, it hadn't just been loud - it had been utterly deafening and after releasing the wand from her grasp - her own hands had jumped to her ears, although she had already heard the full blast of the noise. It was more to rub her poor ears and try and take the slight ache away that the noise had caused. Honestly she had never heard a noise like that before and she was worried it would happen again. Once more she was sad to think about her old wand, it would have never had that happen when she used it, still she did need a new wand. Annika hadn't even noticed she almost bumped right into Rocky until she felt the girl lightly catch her before she ended up falling.
With her face now almost as bright as her hair she offered a sheepish little smile of thanks, before starting back at the wand maker. He was.... interesting to say the least. Quirky and odd - perhaps a little more eccentric than most others. Annika glances back at Rocky, a tiny giggle escaping as she shrugs her shoulders at the girls words, "Perhaps it did like me a little too much - maybe thats why... " she trailed off looking back at the wand maker. She really did hope this wouldn't take too long - her cousin had taken a great length of time before finally finding his own. As he approached with the other wand she holds her breath, nodding slowly - pausing to offer another smal lsmile at Rocky before closing her hand over the newest wand, this time it seemed nothing happened until she gave a very light swish - facing away from those standing with her.
And then a soft humming noise sounded as a soft light bursts forth, and several boxes rose and twirled around before landing where they started. The wand maker seemed even more excited by this before rambling that it was perfect - a perfect fit, and how wonderful it was. Yes.. this wand-maker was certainly eccentric to say the least.
