Diagon Alley was a fascinating place, that much Atticus was certain of already - he had already been here often enough since arriving in London - and already he had managed to visit each store. Or - at least each one he seemed to be allowed to enter, oddly enough there seemed to be a few places that he was simply not allowed to enter. He wondered what they held inside that was so important or secretive. Either way, he had been having fun exploring yet again today. And then it had begun to rain, he was close enough though to be able to make a dash for one of the shops, grinning as his eyes landed on a sign that had already become a familiar one.
His hands tucked firmly into his jacket pocket, one hand clutching a small bag of money as he darted into the ice cream store, a small laugh escaping him as he shook his head - his hair now damp as it flew around before clinging to his face - one hand rising to brush it back as he moved up to the counter, dark eyes scanning the list of available treats. He was a little determined to try each and every one at least once before school began - perhaps it was a bit of an outrageous idea, but he wanted to at least try and see how far he got before he'd be on his way to Hogwarts for the first time.

Diagon Alley, a little area, located in London for all the witches and wizards looking to pick up a few things here and there. It was also the place to get everything one would need for Hogwarts, especially if you needed something new. She had come to get fitted for the Hogwarts uniform, something that seemed to take a long time. She had short legs, you see, which meant that the seamstress at the place had to fix it up a bit so that it laid just right. It was a nice little uniform, not much different from Ilvermorny, but it did have its changes to it. She quite liked it, and if you rolled the skirt up just a bit, it’d show off a lot of flesh. Though – she knew that she’d get in trouble just like she did at Ilvermorny for such an act. After what felt like an hour, she and her aunt were finally free from the uniform shopping and decided to split up; her aunt needed to grab a few things before they could leave and told Bianca to explore. So that was what she did, at least, until the downpour came crashing down. She shrieked, a little too loud that it drew attention to her, but she didn’t care. She’d look like a drowned rat, and that was so not about to happen. Quickly she slipped into the closest store, which turned out to be an ice cream shop and slipped right in. She began to shake her arms, at least, until she was splashed by droplets of a shorter male that entered a few seconds after her, she glared at him almost. “Hey—watch it,” she hissed at the boy as she moved an inch away – outside of the seemingly unavoidable splash zone. She was already wet herself, so a little bit of water wasn’t that bad, but she didn’t know if his hair was clean and if that water from his shaking was going to make her break out.

His hair clung to his face - still damp and wet, the usual curly locks now anything but their usual self. But his head jolted back up - quickly as he turned, brown eyes locking on the girl. "Oh.." he murmured quickly realizing what had happened, "Sorry about that." He spoke as he lifted his hand, brushing his wet hair back again - it was times like this he kind of wished he was allowed to use magic away from school. The thought made him pause - cause he was going to be going to another school - a new school. He wondered if the rules were the same or not. A quick drying charm would have been great right about now. "Are you okay?" Atticus frowned, honestly despite the fact that the girl was likely just as wet as he was, he did feel bad about splashing her - but he had nothing to offer her other than his apology and asking if she was okay. "Did you want some ice cream?" He tilted his head slightly, nodding towards the counter as he spoke. [ Bianca Alia Rivera]

“Yeah, you better be sorry,” she muttered to herself, but it was low enough she was sure the kid wouldn’t be able to hear. Quickly she ran her fingers through her now dark wet locks, brushing it back and pulling it up into a messy bun. Rule #1: always bring a spare hair-tie for emergencies. She waved her hand, rather her free hand, at the young boy as she pulled her hair back into the bun. With her mouth now free from holding the tie between her lips, she could speak. “I’m better than ever,” she said dryly to the young frowning boy who looked oddly familiar. Did she know him or someone he was related to? As he asked her if she wanted some ice cream, she frowned almost in distaste. “No—I do not want ice cream. Too many calories.”

Atticus wasn't sure what to think, or what to do. Clearly he had accidentally rubbed her the wrong way - making a mistake here, but it had been an accident. He watched as she pulled her hair back, his hand rubbing the back of his head, he was still pretty much drenched himself. Making him wonder why the stores didn't have someone to do a drying charm or something. It was a magical place Diagon Alley, surely there was something available to help them dry off right? He glanced back at the girl, still feeling bad about having upset her, "Oh.." he murmured softly, his nose scrunching in thought. Was she worried about gaining weight or something? Girls could be rather strange sometimes that was for sure. "You look - I mean. I think you look pretty - why are you worried about calories for?" There was a hint of curiosity in his voice, at the same time though he was honestly worried about pissing the girl off a bit more as well. But - she was pretty, why would she be so worried about icecream having calories of all things? [ Bianca Alia Rivera]

The moment she said that ice cream was too many calories, she watched his nose scrunch up. She was waiting for it, waiting for him to say something along the lines of that being stupid or that she shouldn’t be watching such a thing, but she got it all the time. Sure, she had a high metabolism so she could get away with eating a ton of ice cream and all that would happen is she would lose some more weight, at least, she prayed that was how her body still was. Though she did exercise regularly, she could have gotten away with a little bit of ice cream. She was pulled from her thoughts just as he said that she looked pretty, and why was she worrying about calories. “Because I don’t want to get fat, and, ice cream is a lot of sugar – ever heard of diabetes?” she questioned with a raised eyebrow. She, however, was quite gentle because he called her pretty. “Anyways—” she started as she shook her head out before taking once more, “You look oddly familiar…you weren’t from Ilvermorny, were you? Or maybe related to someone from there?” she questioned with a questioning gaze in her eyes.

Atticus was a huge fan of icecream himself - a guilty pleasure of his really. Honestly since being here this was the most he had actually eaten of icecream so soon after each other. Still he was completely confused why this girl seemed so worried about things like calories.. then again, maybe it was one of those strange girl things he just didn't understand. Having sisters - it led him to know more and understand more than most boys his own age at least, but still - they were an utter mystery all the same. He scrunched his nose though, hand messing with his hair as he frowned and listened to her explain all the same. "Well yes.. but one icecream wouldn't do that." he pointed out carefully, simply offering a small smile, "I'm sure it would do no harm if you just had one icecream, but its your choice I suppose. Honestly though, I don't think it is something you need to worry about." He smiled properly once more before nodding at her question, "Yes, I am from Ilvermorny. Former Thunderbird," he paused at the reminder - it was still strange to know that soon he would be sorted into a different house. [ Bianca Alia Rivera]

Bianca made a face as if contemplating the younger boy’s words. She could always get a scope of something that sounded like it could be sugar-free, and she was sure there was something that was, and then go for a long run once she got home. She tapped her finger against her chin, ruby red nails shinning against the well-lit room. “I guess you are right, there isn’t much harm if I get a scope,” she breathed out with a small smile. Why she was nice to this kid now, she didn’t know…maybe it was all the compliments. Especially when it said that she didn’t have to worry about ice cream making her fat. She liked this kid already. It was then that the kid revealed that he was, in fact, from Ilvermorny and was a Thunderbird, or rather a former member of that house, and she nodded. “Wasn’t my house, but heard it was rather nice. I’m a former Wampus, had to come over during my last year of schooling,” she said with a shrug of her shoulders and a twirl of her hair between tan fingers.

Atticus glanced at the girl, curious when he saw her reaction - a tiny part of him was proud that he could even make the older girl consider it, at the same time he was also happy though - as far as he could see the girl really didn't have anything to worry about when it came to silly things like calories. She was honestly very pretty already. Sometimes girls were so utterly confusing and puzzling - maybe it was just because he was a guy that he didn't understand. Or maybe girls just really were a puzzle he'd never work out, maybe he should ask his brother if he knew how girls minds worked. His thoughts were distracted when he heard the girl speak again - actually saying he was right and there wasn't harm in just one scoop. "Exactly!" he happily spoke, smiling back at her, "I'm sure there will be something you'll want to try, there is all sorts of icecream here." He nodded happily, pleased she was at least going to try. Talking about Ilvermorny was something both good and bad, he already missed the school and it was - strange really to know he wouldn't be back for his Fifth year there, "Oh, I have a couple friends in Wampus. It's going to be my Fourth year." He spoke as he moved towards the line near the counter, nodding for her to join him as they spoke, "Do you miss it? Ilvermorny I mean." [ Bianca Alia Rivera ]

The young boy seemed rather excited that he had gotten her to agree, and she almost felt like she had been cornered into it. But as long as the kid was happy and not annoyed, then she could care less. He quickly, and happily, stated that he was sure there was something she would want to try. All she did was nod her head, her face a mask of no emotion. She showed nothing of excitement, annoyance, or anything – just a clean canvas of ivory skin. She had already tried to ice cream place within Diagon Alley, and she had enjoyed it, but that had been on her cheat day. Today was not that day, but she allowed it to be, it just meant that this coming day of cheating would not happen. She watched the young boy, curiosity appearing on her face, as he stated that he had friends in Wampus and even when he revealed that he was a fourth year. She nodded her head, plastering on a small smile, “Fourth year is fun,” she concluded wanting to make it seem like she wasn’t ignoring the poor boy. It was then that the infamous question slithered from his mouth, did she miss Ilvermorny. She shrugged her shoulders, “Not really, I don’t know…I miss that I won’t be able to graduate from there, and instead will have to graduate with people I don’t know, it’s—it’s rather complicated in my mind whether I miss it or just the familiarity of it,”

Atticus was always a pretty happy kid, rarely was he not happy or positive at the very least. To see him without a smile, was a very strange thing indeed, but still - being able to convince someone to have a bit of fun or relax and forget something that in his mind wasn't important. That was a true win for sure, so his excitement in her actually agreeing - well, he couldn't hide that all too well at all. Regardless of if she was someone he knew, or someone he just met - he had convinced her to relax and have an icecream, even if it was mostly to make him stop asking or something. He simply gave a wide grin at her words, tilting his head slightly as he nodded, "It's still gonna be odd though, being at a different school - even if I know people, I don't know the school or all the secret spots like I did at Ilvermorny." It was if he stopped and thought about it, a little odd that he was telling someone he didn't even really know about this, let alone that he doubted she cared how he felt about it, but - maybe it was easier speaking to someone he didn't know very well but was still in a similiar situation, sometimes talking to his brother wasn't as easy when it came to certain things. "I get it.. I think." he paused and shrugged, "You've been at Ilvermorny since the start - but you won't finish there, its weird and strange. Now its a new place you don't know." He went quiet as he offered a smile, quickly stepping up to the counter and asking for todays choice he had decided he wanted to try, pausing to look back at her, "What are you gonna pick?" A small laugh left Bianca’s lips as the young kid talked about not knowing all the secret spots, and she smiled almost as if she were his age again. “Well—at least you have a few years to uncover them. I sadly, only have one,” she said not once letting the smile waver. For once she was nice, maybe it was because she knew how the kid felt or maybe it was because he was younger than her and he brought out a side of her that she kept hidden. “But I know how you feel…being somewhere foreign with only a few that you know, it’s a bit overwhelming. But trust me, you’ll get used to it eventually. And hey, maybe Ilvermorny will fix itself before you graduate and you can return,” she said trying to lift his spirits, maybe even a little. She had changed from that rather rude and aggressive Bianca she was when she first ran into the establishment, but then again, she knew this was the true her hidden inside. The world had just broken her enough that she feared to show it. The young boy, whom she realized she didn’t know the name of still, quickly told her that he got it. Pretty much retelling her entire Ilvermorny journey and ending with what she already knew, she nodded her head as he smiled. He had hit it right on the head, but not only that, she was dragged away from where her parents and younger sibling were laid to rest. Not that she could blame her aunt for dragging her away, she lived in London and Hogwarts was the only school there, plus, she was still too young to be considered an adult and live on her own. Pulled, rather quickly, from that thought was when the boy asked what she was going to pick, she looked at the flavors before deciding swiftly what she wanted. “I’ll have the same, in a bowl,” she said to the person collecting the orders and getting the ice cream put together. She looked at the boy and shrugged her shoulders, “Sounded delicious,” she said with a small smile on her lips.

Atticus was pleased that he had made her laugh, while he had been extremely wary and unsure when he had seemed to upset her at first - now she seemed a little more relaxed and Atticus was enjoying talking with her. He gave a small but eager nod when she responded, "Yeah - I got plenty of time I guess. But I suppose that means you should make the most of what you have. Right?" He gave a wide smile before shaking his head. At least that was what he would do, maybe she thought differently though. He listened when she continued talking, his eyes watching as he nodded, it was kind of nice to talk to someone else about this. "Maybe, but - we still gotta stay here for now, I'm a little bit nervous - but super excited too. It's a weird mix of feelings I guess... very confusing and totally overwhelming." He wasn't sure how to feel about any of this experience but he was trying to make the most of it, even if right now that just consisted on testing as many flavors of icecream before school began. At least for right now he wouldn't be doing that on his own, he glanced back at the girl - realizing he still wasn't sure on what her name was. His grin brightened as she made her icecream choice, quietly approving as he nodded his head, "Good choice." he praised after a moment, eagerly reaching out to accept his own, digging in his pocket to pull out his money to pay for the treat - pausing before he handed it over, "I'd like to treat you - if thats alright? Consider it an apology for earlier." He was glad she seemed to have relaxed around him and honestly he was enjoying the company of her now, "I'm Atticus by the way." Bianca Alia Rivera

She felt pride fill her when he nodded his head and seemed to agree with her, even giving his advice of making the most of the time that you had, she smiled widely. “Yeah, you’re right,” she said truthfully, “Carpe diem, right?” she said hoping that he knew what that meant. She had liked that motto, had seen it on a television show a long time ago; it had to do something about living in the moment because one doesn’t know what the future would bring. Of course, that show had said something along the lines of being dead tomorrow, but she didn’t want to sound morbid. “Believe me, I know that feeling. I’m ready for the adventure, but I’m also one of those people that enjoys the normality of daily life. So, the change is a big one,” she said with a small laugh as she played with a curly strand of hair. It was then that he offered to treat her and her eyes widened a bit, “Are you sure? You don’t have to, really,” she breathed out, somewhat shocked by the experience. One minute she was mean to him and the next he was buying her ice cream? What kind of dream was she trapped in? “Bianca,” she breathed out as he introduced himself, “It’s nice to officially meet you Atticus,” she added in the same tone.

There were many things that Atticus held dear, many things that his mother had said or taught him - even though it had been years now since he had seen her or heard her voice. He still remembered a few things clearly - she always told him to find the light even when things weren't the best, something he was trying hard to do right now - his life had been picked up and dropped off in another country. He was going to start at a new school, in that same new country. And his mother... the mystery surrounding her disappearing - that was still back in America.. He was afraid, he was scared. He knew people were stopping to find her, but Atticus was still fighting - not wanting to give up even if it looked dark - he was still looking for the light. "Seize the Day." The saying was familiar, a soft smile tugged at his lips, "My Mom used to say that," He gave a small nod, he was certainly not forgetting that one. "I'm looking forward to the adventures too, and it is a little scary but... we're all dealing with the changes right? Once we're at school things will be a little better - we'll have classes and stuff again." He gave a small laugh, nodding his head at her question, "Of course!" Atticus grinned and handed over the money for hers as well, smiling at the woman behind the counter before grabbing his own icecream before turning back to Bianca, "It's nice to meet you too Bianca. Shall we find somewhere to sit until the rain settles?" Bianca Alia Rivera
