When was the last time he had seen her this excitable? One of many Christmases? Leaving for Hogwarts? Jimbo’s own excitement came in the form of a big pitch about love to two well-off pureblood families, meaning loads of money for his Gringotts account and plenty more customers in the future. Potential clients coming in because of word of mouth was second only to watching Jameson talk about her experience inside the Daily Prophet. He had to have been that way once, though resigned to the fact that he would spend the rest of his days in the family business. Jimbo wouldn’t have it any other way though, and he was sure the same could be said about his daughter when it came to making strides in the world of journalism. “The editor?” he asked, her pokes into his arm making him correct himself. “Ah. The Editor. That’s…impressive. I haven’t even met them.” How in Merlin’s overused name did she manage to pull that off? Slow news day? Or was the fiery Blishwick attitude and persuasion all she needed? That coupled with her innate ability to question and push could have done the trick.
But they were on their way to lunch now, somewhere fancy. That was easy enough. Nowhere in Diagon was going to work for this occasion though. Jimbo knew of quite a few places that fit the bill for upper crust, a benefit of work meetings. Apparently flaunting money and status meant something to those silly folks. Being happy and content was more his flavor of success. “It’s going to be a bit of a walk to the place I have in mind,” he explained as they started their walk. “But yes, professional indeed,” Jimbo continued chuckling as he looked down at her, hands latched onto his arm tightly. “I’m proud of you. Keep it up, and the Prophet won’t know what hit them.”

IT TOOK HER FATHER A SECOND BUT WHEN recognition hit him, she nodded her head. Of course, she didn't expect her father to know exactly how she felt. He was always much more concerned with trivial matters, like love and romance. She allowed him a brief moment before it settled him. Pleased when he acknowledged how impressive it was. Even if he was faking it a little bit.
"You haven't?" She said, her nose scrunching as she tilted her head. Her ego inflated a few sizes more. Jimmie always thought of her father as an 'everybody' man. He knew everybody. It was a perk of the job. "Well, they're pretty cool." She added, attempting to appear aloof as she straightened the front of her coat, her nose in the air.
Jimmie's heels almost clicked together as she began walking with her father. He appeared to have put a bit of thought in to their fancy lunch, which bode well for Jimmie. Her father might not know the editor, but he had been to his fair share of fancy restaurants. She knew because she often peeked at the receipts in his pockets when he returned home. For research purposes...
"I can walk." Jimmie said, pretending she wasn't jittery with impatience. Though, she was still grinning happily. Her lips pulling back over her teeth when her father added how proud he was of her. Though she hid much of it behind her hand, her cheeks turning a bit pink. "I'm gonna be the best journalist they've ever seen."
