Dom nodded as Parvati explained that nothing really dramatic happened so far between the students. That was good news, but Dom wasn't particularly surprised. Hogwarts students were used to having visitors. It was a little different this year since the visitors were living in their houses, but still ... visitors were visitors. She thought it sounded fun. "I'm glad it also seems to be working pretty well then," she answered when Parvati started going on about the Head Boy and Girl. While Dom was pretty proud of her cousin for becoming Head Boy despite the fact that he loved pranking, she wasn't going to bring that up right now. Parvati expressed a wish that they would have treated the Triwizard Visitors the same way they were treating the Americans and Dom shrugged. "Well, it's harder when you're competing against them," she answered in defense of her school. "And some of us did a very good job at that. Take Anna, for instance," Dom commented, bringing up her cousin because she actually married one of the foreign students. Dom was happy for her, even if she didn't quite understand the draw. Then again, her ideal man was still her best friend that passed on so it wasn't really much of a surprise. parvati patil macmillan

It was interesting to see how much things had changed at Hogwarts between having had the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang delegations there the previous year and having so many more students from Ilvermorny there now. Dominique voiced that it would have been harder for them to integrate with the foreign students in the same way because they had been in competition with one another, and Parvati nodded in some sort of half-hearted agreement at that. There had been tensions back in her fourth year, too, but Beauxbatons and Durmstrang seemed to have brought some incredibly strong personalities to represent them in 2023.
"And some of us did a very good job at that. Take Anna, for instance," Dominique stated.
"Of course she did," Parvati agreed of Dominique's cousin. Biased though she certainly was in favor of the former Gryffindor, Parvati truly felt as though Anna had managed to embody the spirit of the competition. It was probably a bit much to think that two students would go on to marry one another not even a year after meeting for the first time, as Anna and Oscar had, but Parvati hated how burdensome the expectations had been on all of the students.
The media, thank Merlin, had kept out of this one. "I just don't think that it was… exactly fair to any of the seventh-years," Parvati explained, "that we adults didn't think things over a bit more." They could have stood to, after what had happened to Cedric Diggory. "Watching teenagers crack under pressure, asking them to perform feats most adults couldn't even manage properly."

Parvati- also known as Madam Macmillan ... Dom didn't know what to call her- agreed instantly, saying that Anna did a great job of getting to know the foreign visitors. Granted, she'd fallen in love with one of them. Dom wasn't quite sure whether or not her cousin had really given any others the time of day. She suspected not, but she wasn't about to bring that up now. It was obvious to Dom that the woman in front of her really liked her cousin. She started talking about how she didn't think last year's situation was really fair to any of the seventh years. Dom wasn't entirely sure what she was talking about, but she didn't really want to ask either. Dom had just finished her drink and was ready to get out of there. "Yeah, maybe that would have been a good thing to do, work it out more," Dom answered with a smile. "I'm sorry, but I have to go now. It's been really nice talking to you!" She stood and started to leave, ready to get some of her boundless energy out now. parvati patil macmillan(you can end it!)

Dominique agreed that maybe they should have worked out the Triwizard Tournament more than they had. The students who were chosen had been equipped for it, with a little bit of assistance, but expecting them to know how to handle all manner of situations that they were likely never to encounter otherwise. How much had those kids been through without adults creating dangerous scenarios for them to work their way out of for the entertainment of their schoolmates and the general public? They didn't need more stress, on top of murders and kidnappings and everything else.
Quite abruptly, Dominique must have realized the time, however, seeing as she quickly apologized for having to leave then. "I'm sorry, but I have to go now. It's been really nice talking to you!"
"Not a problem, Dominique," Parvati answered her, though the girl had already gotten up to leave. "Take care."
