He scrunched his nose and rolled his eyes and she laughed a little. He asked if she could make an exception for him and then she rolled her eyes, "that defeats the whole point of the program, you baby," she countered. "But I suppose we can be 'unofficial' assigned buddies," she suggested, her smile growing again. He was so easy to talk to, it was such a relief compared to the summer she had and her relationships with her siblings. It always surprised her how natural it was to be with him. He asked when he had ever done a harmful prank and she shrugged, "just making sure!" He hadn't ever been much of a prankster, not unless he wasn't aware that he was assisting in a prank, which Addilyn was sure she had utilized against him more than once. Then the water fight was on and she screamed-laughed as he sprayed a large amount at her, soaking her curly hair. She fought back, moving closer so that her blows would be even better. Though, that did make her more vulnerable. @edmund

Addi responded exactly the way he thought she would and Ed laughed, though he was very pleased when she said they could be unassigned buddies. "Sweet. Does that mean you have to spend more time with me?" he teased, unable to resist. Sure, he was a little disappointed that they hadn't spent lots of time together since coming back to school, but she was busy with her duties and he was busy as Quidditch captain. It wasn't like she was avoiding him or anything.
Ed rolled his eyes when she said she was just making sure. Like she didn't already know. Addi was the one person Ed didn't mind telling everything to. He had no secrets from her, so she would definitely know if he'd harmed anyone with a prank. He laughed when she joined in the water fight, splashing her mercilessly. Then she moved closer and Ed's next move was totally instinctual. He ran at her and pushed her over, wrapping his arms around her so they both fell into the water. He tried to take most of the fall, sitting up almost instantly. "I win," he declared, smirking over at his best friend.

Addilyn shrugged, feigning a 'devil-may-care' persona. "I suppose... If you don't bore me to death, that is," she teased, smirking at him. The truth was that yes, they were busy, but she really could make time for him. She has just been distracted in her free time thus far and slightly ashamed to be with him after that little fling with Steve Kolstad. But, they were mending and spending more time together was important. She did not expect what came next, to be tackled into the water. She barely even had time to let out a short yelp before he were down, though he turned so he got the most of the blow. She adjusted herself, shaking her head so her curly hair whipped water into his face. "Fine. Fine. You win," she agreed, smiling at him. Sooner, rather than later, it would be so cold they wouldnt be able to stand the water, so she was glad they were making use of it - abeit unexpectedly. @edmund

Ed's jaw dropped as his best friend teased him. "Oh? Since when have I been boring?" He demanded. Ed might be many things- brooding, tempermental and rude to name a few- but he'd never thought of himself as boring for. He still didn't. He knew Addi had to be teasing, but still he was going to see if he could get her to explain herself. Sometimes she would, but Addi was one of those people who always did exactly what she wanted. She didn't do things simply because others wanted her to.
He laughed when Addi admitted that he'd won the game. Really, there was no competition. Once he'd gotten her into the water, it was basically a given. He laughed, rising to his feet and offering a hand to help her up. "Finally. I've been waiting for you to admit that for seven years. Finally I get to win at something," he teased. He looked around them, "Is there anything else you want to do out here?" Edmund could stay by the Black Lake all day, but that wasn't the point. What he wanted to do right now was spend some good, quality time with his best friend.
@addilyn (you wanna end it?)

Ed questioned when he had been boring and she shrugged, "not yet so far, but hey it could happen. You never know," she teased. Really Ed was not boring at all in her eyes. Sure, maybe he occasionally talked softly or didn't have much to say at all but that didn't equate to being boring. Plus, when it was just the two of them he wasn't shy in any capacity. They were best friends, after all. He said he had been waiting for seven years to win something and she rolled her eyes, "oh come on, I'm sure you've one another things," she said. Then he asked what else she wanted to do and she shrugged, "well, it's September and it's cold.. and we're wet. So let's go dry of and go from there?" she offered, ready to lead the way back inside. "Then we could just walk around the lake." And so they did. @edmund the end and they lived happily ever after
