@lestrange & @will 10.19.2024 Everything lately was…quiet. Not because school had started back up and her sister was off and away at Hogwarts or that there wasn’t anything for her to do anymore; it was quite the contrary when it came to being busy. It felt like everything was normal. The job she had thought she had thrown herself into, the splintering of the Order and her taking initiative for half of it, was almost nothing. Finn was afraid that she wasn’t doing enough sometimes, and that the silence of late meant something bigger was lurking around unseen. Maybe that was just paranoia, her years of expecting the worst out of things creeping up on her now that she was content with her life. Regardless, she would take these months as they were, and go ahead one step at a time. There were more important things, more important people, right now that she was more focused on. And that was the goal of today’s trip.
The apartment inhabited by Will was intriguing to Finn for a number of reasons. First off, he already had a family castle. Why did he need a separate apartment as well? Obviously she understood the practical reasons of having two different housing situations, one formal and one for comfort, but it seemed all superfluous to her still. She had her cozy apartment, shared with her dog, Luke, and her sister when she was out of school. Having three people and a dog in that small of a space was perfect. Not too crowded, but lived in. The castle had absolutely baffled her when she first stepped into it, and she was preparing herself for the inevitable extravagance that was going to be the apartment.
Approaching the front entrance of the building, she hit the buzzer next to the door, rocking back and forth slowly on her heels as she waited for the person at the front desk to buzz her in. Trying to explain who she was there to see was going to be interesting, unsure if the employee even knew who Will was. There was no reason to be nervous, but she could feel the weight of it come down on her as the door audibly unlocked in front of her. Hand snatching out immediately to grab the handle, Finn squeezed through and made her way to the front desk. “Hi. I uhh…I don’t need to sign in as a visitor do I?” she asked, tapping on the counter a few times with her fingers, waiting patiently for a response or for Will to suddenly show up and take her away.

Andy had the day and evening off. Generally she didn't have this much time off in a row, but for some reason things were slow at the hit-office so she was able to take some time. She actually would rather be finding some kind of work to do rather than staying home at the Winsdor Apartment, but after sleeping in much longer than she thought she could she realized that maybe a restful day was overdue. She would even skip the gym today, if she could manage to convince herself to relax for that long. She considered a trip to the beach, and was still considering such when she heard the intercom ding next to her. "Yes?" she answered, pressing the button. "A visitor for Sir. William, miss. Should I send them in?" the clerk asked. "Yeah, go ahead," she confirmed. She stepped away from the intercom and started walking toward Will's room so she could fetch him. Before she reached the door, she paused when she heard the main door open behind her. With her back to it she knocked on Will's door. "Just a moment," Andy said back to the guest as she waited for Will to answer, her back still to the person. finn kylie nottingham

@lestrange & @will 10.19.2024 Sir William. The formality of it was astounding. Finn knew she should have been used to it by now, but it was still all so new. The only ‘royalty’ she ever found herself around while back home consisted of wealthy business owners, and that was just because they had boat loads of money that were beneficial to maintaining the magical world in the US. Calling them royalty, or even uttering their names in the same breath as the Windsor family’s’ seemed like a dishonor to the real royalty here. All the same, hearing ‘sir’ tacked on in front of Will’s name made her automatically straighten up, mind preparing for whatever was next – which apparently was that she was now allowed to enter his apartment. Now walking slightly stiffer than she had been when entering the apartment building, Finn made her way towards Will’s apartment, the directions graciously supplied by the front desk.
The building itself was deathly quiet, unlike any apartment she had ever stepped foot into. The ones in New York City were loud and rambunctious, and that was before factoring in the symphony of sounds coming from the street. It made sense that it was this quiet though: everyone that lived here had to be important, and having it this quiet allowed for maximum concentration. Or maybe all of this was actually Will’s, set up to seem like more people lived there, and as a disguise for who actually did. Finn was almost afraid to breathe too loudly as she made her way towards the apartment door, unsure if it was one, or the other. Heartbeat matching her feet pounding along the carpeted hall, she came to a halt as she reached the door. The person at the front desk had said she would be fine to enter once she reached there, so that must have meant that Will was right on the other side waiting for her. Taking a deep breath, Finn twisted the door knob and pushed the door to the apartment open, only to hear a woman’s voice tell her to hold on for a moment.
The statement confused Finn for a number of reasons, the first being that she had been unaware that anyone else had lived with Will, but quickly realizing it could have been one of his maids or secretaries. The second problem though, was that Finn could have sworn that the back of the head of the woman she was now looking at, was familiar. She had met Susan, the second eldest of the Windsor children, once before, but even once was enough to immediately realize that this wasn’t Susan. Still… “Andy?” The name came out before Finn was really able to process what was going on. The voice matched up, and there had been plenty of days spent in the gym where the two of them alternated on the punching bag, enough so that Finn could tell that this was her no-maj sparring partner. The odds that she also worked for Will? Almost unbelievable, but here she was, standing right there.

The visitor spoke, and Andy was shocked to hear that it was her name they said. She furrowed her brow and slowly turned around. It took her a moment to register that it was her boxing buddy from the muggle gym, because why on Earth would Finn be here? Well, Will lived a great deal of his life in the muggle world so it was very possible that he knew this girl somewhere through those channels. But that was very odd to think about, that in this whole world her and Will happened to befriend a same person? "What- what are you doing here?" she asked slowly, her eyebrow raising inquisitively. "I mean, obviously you're here to see Will -erh- Lord Winsdor or whatever," she corrected. It was hard to talk about Will in that way, and it actually made her crack a smile because she was trying not to laugh. Sir. Lord William Peter Windsor, what a dorky name. She heard movement coming from Will's door and figured he'd be opening it any second, so she took a few steps back as to not block the view of Finn. @will shall go next finn kylie nottingham

Wil heard the knock on his door and slowly got up from his couch, the one that liked to eat him. He chuckled at the thought of the first time he'd brought Finn home and they had made so many jokes about being trapped on that same type of couch. That was probably who the knock on the door was from, or at least one of his siblings or Andy letting him know that Finn was there. He caught site of himself in a mirror on the wall and paused to straighten his shirt and flatten his hair just a little. He had definitely fallen asleep and didn't mean to take an impromptu nap, but alas it had happened. Not that Finn would really care how disheveled he looked, but he was a gentleman and a royal and he didn't approve of looking like he'd just woken up from an eternal sleep when he saw his... whatever they were. There wasn't really a title or anything, but that wasn't a big deal to Will. He opened the door to see Andy stranding off to the side and Finn up ahead. He grinned, "thanks Andy," he said, giving her a short nod before starting to cross toward Finn. But then he paused, turning back toward Andy to survey the look on her face. Then he looked back to Finn. "Uhhh... you guys okay?"finn kylie nottingham @lestrange

@lestrange & @will 10.19.2024 Finn desperately wanted to ask Andy the same question: what was she doing here? Was the world really that small that the girl she had been boxing with at the gym also happened to be associated with Will in some manner? The odds of that happening had to be astronomical. Obviously so was the fact that she bumped into a member of royalty and happened to…yeah…but that was different. Andy hadn’t struck her as the type to work for Will, but that would explain the constant training and martial arts she took an interest in. Finn had lied, or bent the truth rather, during their first encounter as well, saying she was a former police officer. Will would understand what she meant by that if the question came back up in the next few minutes or so.
All Finn managed to do was nod her head at Andy as she filled in the words for her. Yes, she was here to see Lord Windsor. Will. The formality of it all had to mean that the girl was an employee. Before she could ask anything, the door Andy had knocked on opened up, and out stepped Will. Finn’s eyes darted back and forth between the two, and Will must have picked up on the strange interaction that was happening, because he spoke up. “Yeah, no we’re fine. It’s just…we’ve met before,” Finn explained slowly, turning to look at Andy again. There was still some doubt casting itself in her mind. Was this really the same Andy? She looked and sounded the same, sure, but the chances of her being here of all places. That was strange. “Quite a few times actually. We go to the same gym.” So anticlimactic. Finn was sure Will would have enjoyed some crazy story about a wild encounter they had, but nope. All they did was punch boxing bags to release pent up energy. Finn wanted to add more, but she was still at a loss for words, shooting Will a confused look in the process. Maybe he would be able to explain it better.

Well, this was incredibly awkward. The fact that Finn and Will were... wait, was this the girl Will had talked about? Andy hadn't seen her, but she knew he was seeing somebody just because of general conversation. Plus, Susan knew basically everything, but Andy either didn't hear the name or ignored it because she really didn't care that much. Had she somehow been gym buddies with Will's new girlfriend all along? It didn't surprise her that Will liked Finn, she was definitely his type. He liked the girls who could stand up for themselves, the confident ones. At least as far as Andy knew what with Claire and sort of herself and all. Not that Will was ever really into her - but yeah. Finn spoke first, answering Will's question. Andy nodded, "we're boxing, mostly," she added, her tone oddly strained. This wasn't that weird! The strangest part was probably that Andy's wand was in her pocket and she realized she had no idea if Finn knew anything about Will's magical side... and she didn't want to awkwardly bring that up if she didn't know. Oh dear, consorting with muggles did get complicated. @will finn kylie nottingham

Well, well. Will had an interesting opportunity here. The two had met at a muggle gym it seemed, which meant that they probably didn't know that the other was a magical being, which meant that Will could have a little fun. Granted, neither of these girls were really one to fall for a prank of any kind... but maybe he could make them question just enough if he was about to give away the statute of secrecy to some other muggle person. He could maybe make them squirm a little. At least, he had to try. The funniest part was, Andy and Finn had both been members of the original Order, but Andy had been MIA at the start of the summer when it came to meetings, and then the break up happened and they went different ways. They clearly didn't know each other that way, otherwise they would have said something now. They both knew Will was a member of Ouroboros, obviously, so the only reason they'd have to not mention it is if they didn't know. "Andy is a friend who lives with us," Will explained, taking a few more steps toward Finn. "And Andy, Finn's the one I've been telling you about," he explained, nodding back at Andy. "We could pop into the kitchen for a snack if you guys wanted?"@finn @lestrange

@lestrange & @will 10.19.2024 Yeah. Boxing buddies. Andy finished off the awkward statement with her own. Finn could tell that they were both looking for answers to their questions, mostly directed towards Will, but he wasn’t helping at all. Finally he explained that Andy was a family friend of sorts and lived with them. Finn nodded her head slowly, her mouth slightly open as if she wanted to say something. Nothing came out though because she wasn’t sure what to say. So that meant Andy didn’t work for them and she was more like a roommate. Maybe the one sister’s roommate? That would make sense. Having a no-maj friend to divert attention away from the mysterious second life the Windsor family lead. That could also mean Andy was from some other noble family. She certainly didn’t act like one, but then again Will didn’t always act like one either.
Finn was still going through all of this when Will continued to talk, telling Andy that she was the one he had been talking about. He was telling other people about her? Being re-introduced in this manner was way more embarrassing than she had imagined it would be, and she already knew Andy! Or thought she had. But the same could be said on her side as well. They were both hiding things, in a way. “Or a drink maybe?” Finn laughed awkwardly. “Sorry if I’m making this weird. I’ve seen some weird things in my uh…line of work so I know what it looks like,” she said, pointing at herself as she continued to laugh. Her favorite strange story was when the entire basement in a Staten Island home had been overrun by doxy nests and required Auror assistance to clear it out. Finn had offered up the idea of burning the place down, which didn’t sit well with the magizoologists there. What a mess that had been…

Finn suggested a drink instead, and Andy also laughed awkwardly along with her. She said she was sorry if she was making this weird, saying she had seen weird things in her 'line of work' so she new what it looked like. Andy nodded, "tell me about it," she agreed. Granted, she couldn't say exactly what her line of work was... actually, she had forgotten if she had even given Finn a fake job that first day they met. Now she had to wrack her brains for that as well as try to keep the conversation as muggle as possible. That second part was easy at the gym, where Andy didn't have her wand in her pocket or wasn't around other magical people, like Will... but he seemed entirely calm, even amused, by all this. "A drink, then," Andy agreed, and turned on her heel to head toward the kitchen as Will had suggested. She got into the kitchen first and moved to get glasses, though she wasn't sure what kind of drinks they had in stock. She'd leave Will to that. While she opened the cupboard, she slipped her wand inside, pushing it to the back, so it wasn't so obviously on her person... finn kylie nottingham @will

Will couldn't help the laugh that escaped his lips when the girls agreed that this was awkward. He didn't find it that bad, mostly because he was thoroughly amused by it all. Finn suggested a drink and Will nodded, laughing again as Andy agreed. He let Andy go in ahead, then stepped up to greet Fin properly by taking her hand and squeezing it. "Glad you're here," he commented, grinning stupidly at her. Partly because he was so into her, and partly because of how hilarious the situation was. "I guess I don't have to warn you about Andy's... blunt nature," he commented. Blunt was the perfect word to describe the girl, but it was good enough to get his point across. He tugged on her hand and moved toward the kitchen, entering just as Andy closed the cupboard she had been doing something with. "The top left," he nodded, telling Andy where the drinks would be kept. Well, at least the good ones. @lestrange finn kylie nottingham

@lestrange & @will 10.19.2024 She felt Will’s hand take hers as Andy agreed to drinks as well, before she went into what Finn assumed was the kitchen. Or one of the kitchens. After seeing Will’s house (castle?) last time, she was hesitant to assume this was the only kitchen that he had inside his apartment. Last time there were multiple wings, main family common areas, and even private studies. She had no idea if he owned several floors in this apartment building or if what she had seen so far was it. “I’m glad too,” she smiled, looking up at him and returning with a hand squeeze of her own. “But this is still so weird…” She wanted to ask if Andy was a no-maj bodyguard or something – it would make sense, since she was always at the gym working out. But then wouldn’t that also make her a terrible guard because she was never with her employer? “I think she’s interesting. Maybe a little cold in how she puts things, but she was open to letting me work-out with her,” Finn said while trying to keep her voice low. The deviation of going to the gym with Andy was what she needed in her life right now, among other things.
Into the kitchen they went, Finn letting Will lead her. Andy was pulling something out of a cupboard, which based on Will’s directions, had to either be drinks or glasses. “So what do you do for work Andy? Or are you at a university right now? Don’t think I ever caught that.” She was curious, mostly in how the younger girl was associated with Will. It was hard to tell exactly how old she was too, because she acted mature and had the scars to match. Finn had even given her no-maj job up the first time they had met. If Will heard that she used the NYPD as her scapegoat she would never hear the end of it. The funny part was how similar being an auror and an actual police officer in New York City were. They dealt with the same crap at the end of the day.

Will and Finn joined her in the kitchen after a moment and Andy found herself wondering what was said in the hallway for that brief time they were separated. Obviously nothing bad, she hoped, considering this was Will and Finn she was talking about. Plus, the two had better things to do than talk about her, she was sure... maybe she was interrupting by staying to have a drink with them? Oh dear, now she'd have to find an excuse to leave so she didn't feel she was bothering them... she was already here for now, though. She finished pulling the glasses out first when they arrived, nodding when Will said where the drinks were. She went to that cupboard, opening it and assessing the small number of drinks inside. It really wasn't that many, which wasn't surprising. None of the Windsors were really big drinkers. "Scotch, bourbon, cognac or wine?" she asked the two. Finn asked what she did for work, or if she was at school, and Andy wracked her brain quickly, her eyes still on the drinks. "Training to be in law enforcement,"n she answered, sure that if she had mentioned it before that's what she would have said since it was the easiest answer. She turned to look at them, "hoping to eventually make it to a higher task force, mostly action based," she explained, her eyes flickering to Will. Did he look... amused? She gave him a small glare. @will finn kylie nottingham

She said she as glad to be there too, even if it was still weird because of already knowing Andy. She said Andy was interesting, albeit cold and all. "I bet she's terrifying to box with," he joked, chuckling a little. He had seen Andy in action only once before, and it was intense. Not real action, but practice action and that was scary enough. He admired her willingness to go all in, though. She seemed fearless sometimes, though Will knew that she wasn't. "I'm sure you're pretty terrifying too," he added, joking still, so she wouldn't feel 'left out'. "Cognac for me," Will answered. He wasn't always a brandy fan, but when he was he usually went for this particular bottle. "Just half a glass," he said, moving to take a seat on one of the stools by the island in the middle of the kitchen, tugging Finn along with him by the hand. "Yeah, Andy is a great duel-fighter," Will said, pretending that almost saying 'duel' was a mistake. finn kylie nottingham@lestrange

@lestrange & @will 10.19.2024 Andy terrifying to watch box? Uhh yeah she was. The girl had a lot of steam to blow off from the looks of it, and one of the reasons Finn had found herself talking to her in the first place was because she was practically knocking the punching bag off the chain. Really precise jabs were required to send an object flying like that. “We keep it to the bags, but she can throw a punch for sure,” she said quietly as they walked into the kitchen. “With other things, I am. Not so much physical fights. Have you seen how little these hands are?” Finn laughed, lifting up the one Will was holding. In her auror days, making a big entrance and catching the bad guys off guard was more her style. If she didn’t have the upper-hand from the start, then she was bound to lose in the endurance part. Not so surprising, criminals were very good at running away. Catching up to them with a whole 5’5” was difficult sometimes. The ones she hated the most were when they jumped over fences or gates that she couldn’t reach the top of. She could blame television shows for that one.
“Scotch, please,” she requested, sending a flash of a smile at Andy as Will pulled her towards the counter. While she was prepping the drinks, Andy explained that she was training to be in law enforcement. How come she hadn’t said that the first time they had met? “Well, if you have any questions about what it’s like I’d be glad to answer them. New York City might be a little more intense than London though…” she chuckled, mostly to herself because the few no-maj police officers she had seen here always looked so bored. London was basically a sleepy city compared to home.
Then Will spoke, and her head whipped around to face him, her hand squeezing his harder than she would have liked. Unless ‘duel-fighter’ was some weird British lingo she hadn’t heard yet, he had just blurted out words he shouldn’t have. “You mean boxer?” she asked, trying to feign that she had no idea what he was talking about, her voice slightly higher and more pronounced than usual. Her free hand slowly found its way into her pocket where her wand was, mouthing ‘seriously?’ at Will as she did so. She liked Andy and didn’t want to have to wipe the last few minutes off of her memory because of a little hiccup like this.
