As she had, Anna voiced her feelings that it was a good thing that Britain and Hogwarts had remained trusted. "It's a good thing after everything that happened last year," she said. The deaths of so many foreigners right after the Triwizard Tournament had ended could have ruined Britain's and Hogwarts' relations with most of the rest of the world. Still, some of those who had every reason to want never to see Britain again had stayed, Parvati knew; that included Anna's husband, Oscar. "Do those students seem all right?" Anna asked, her concern becoming apparent as she spoke. "Like, they don't seem worried to be in Hogwarts or anything?"
Most of the new students seemed to have arrived at Hogwarts with an understanding of what had happened at the start of the summer before their arrival, if not knowledge of what had happened in the years prior. Even with Émile Chevalier's siblings in attendance, whatever apprehensions many of the new students had seemed to be related to their transition into their new environment, above all. Since the Houses at Ilvermorny were different from the ones at Hogwarts and didn't exactly correlate, the Ilvermorny students had been Sorted into Houses again. That had brought with it some conflict, while others had been separated from the people they were closest to.
For the time being—however long that ended up being—another attack seemed distant for most. The students Parvati had met with for counseling from Ilvermorny—whose thoughts she had gotten to hear in greater detail—had various concerns, upon opening up to her. Some had problems at home that they were concerned about; some had had problems since they'd arrived, and some had admitted that they were concerned about the future.
"Some of the students who have spoken to me have their fears," Parvati responded to Anna's question. "Being so far from home, a few parents have sent letters, as well, wanting to make sure that their children are alright. No Howlers, touch wood," she laughed, trying to relax the mood of their conversation again.
"There are a few students from quite far away by the Americans' standards, as well—Alaska and Hawaii, some of them," she noted. "I can't imagine how strange it must be for them."
