OFF PEAK, THE TRAIN TO HOGSMEADE WASN'T half as long it had seemed as a student. Perhaps the Hogwart's Express took the 'scenic route', to show off the wondrous surroundings, or to confuse students as to how far away it really was. Albus wouldn't be surprised to discover the old steam train ran in circles for a good while, making them all dizzy while the gorged on the snack trolley and gossiped like old hens.
This time around, Albus didn't travel with his old, worn suitcase. He had a wrapped cardboard box, carefully taped at the top. And a small satchel that contained a hand sewn pocket for his wand, a book, and a thermal flask full of coffee.
Travelling across Hogsmeade's cold, frozen ground, Albus found it a rather strange comparison. He'd never been to the little village as a graduate. He'd never had reason to visit beforehand. Suddenly everything looked less enchanting and more common. Like any old village. He supposed that had something to do with it no longer being his one chance of freedom while attending school. The Zonko's was a joke shop. Honeyduke's was just another candy shop.
Although, even Albus hadn't been able to stop himself from ducking in to the candy shop for a red hot chilli sucker before arriving outside of the Three Broomstick's, where he'd agreed to wait for Lily. She was late, as she tended to be. And Albus was already half way through his chilli lollipop when he heard a very familiar laugh. Raucous and undeniable. Among the crowds of students, there she was. Little Lily Potter.

10.26.2024 Today was the day! Well, it was also a Hogsmeade day, but that wasn’t nearly as important as what it meant to be going to Hogsmeade today. The arrival of Albus’s snowy owl, Remy, earlier in the week during breakfast had Lily confused at first. Al sending her an owl was definitely out of the ordinary and at first she assumed her mum had sent her brother’s owl because the family one was already busy on another errand. That had happened before but with a postal owl instead of this feathered friend. She had always liked Remy, sneaking the bird treats whenever her brother wasn’t looking. It wasn’t like Al could get angry with her. She didn’t have her own owl to spoil, one of the only restrictions placed on her at the onset of her first year. Even at eleven years old, apparently everyone in the family was terrified of letting her keep a live animal. Lily didn’t quite understand that still because she kept herself alive, and she was a werewolf now. Or was that even more reason for them to be worried now?
Anyways, the point of her trip to Hogsmeade was to meet Albus at the Broomsticks because he had finally finished with the sugar drinks she had commissioned from him in the spring. At least that was what his letter had stated. Lily was positive she was going to be walking into the pub just to have her mum sitting with Albus shooting daggers at the two of them. A little energy potion making never hurt anyone, and it wasn’t like Al would screw them up to the point where they could harm her. Now if she had been the one making them that would be a different story and a completely understandable reason to be concerned. But that wasn’t what was going on here and she desperately wanted to get her energy drinks.
Casually strolling into the Broomsticks about ten minutes later than the agreed upon time, Lily immediately spotted the top of her brother’s head. It wasn’t often that she could do that, her rather small stature relegating her to her tippy-toes in order to see over crowds. There happened to be a gap in the one inside the Broomsticks today, which lasted just long enough to pinpoint Albus. “Sup dude,” she giggled as she pushed her way through the crowd and stopped at the edge of Albus’s table and gave him a quick side hug. She never would have done that a year ago, but things were different now and she wanted to have real memories of her family members in case another one of them disappeared on her. “So we doing this thing?” she pointed at the box Albus had as she took her seat at the table. “This is like a drug deal, isn’t it? I’ve been so excited for this stuff all week Al, you don’t even know how difficult it’s been to pay attention in class.” She laughed again, never afraid to let a hearty one go inside the Broomsticks. There were always louder people than her here, as hard as that was to believe.

ALBUS WAS SHOCKED WHEN HE STOOD AND LILY began reaching for him, he began to cringe away instinctively, expecting to be pinched or punched. When she reached around him in an awkward, one armed hug, he stiffened further. Was this all because he'd made some energy drinks? He was beginning to second-guess completing the request at all when she finally sat down in front of him.
Her entire body seemed to lean towards him, round eyes gleaming and dangerous with promise. Yup, he was definitely thinking twice now that he'd seen her. She radiated a volatile energy naturally, always had done. But, lately it was hard to say no to her. Especially when she came to him with inane requests like a personalised drink. He couldn't give her much, not a proper hug or a regular owl, but he could make her a stupid drink. Gently, he put a halting hand on top of the box, firm and resolute.
"This is not a drug deal," He hissed at her, looking over his shoulder nervously as he instinctively pulled to the box towards himself. "There's nothing illegal in it." He'd been very careful about the concoction, rejigging it a good few times before he was happy with the results. He'd even tested it on himself. Albus didn't like coffee, or fizzy drinks all that much. He barely slept as it was. But, he'd gone a good twelve hours more on his latest recipe.
"I have some rules before I give you it." Albus stated firmly, his face grave as he drummed his fingers on top of the box, pushing it forward a half inch. "First, one bottle per day, you hear me?" He waited a moment to make sure she was listening before he proceeded. "Two, don't share it, everybody reacts different to a potion like this." He snapped his fingers once when it looked like he was losing her, jaw tightening as he yanked the box back an inch in warning. "Three, only drink it in the morning, I don't wanna get a Howler from mum when you pass out from exhaustion at dinner, or something."
He pushed the box a little closer, teasing her with the pass over before he quickly revoked the space and yanked it back once more. "Finally!" Now he was just dragging it out for his own enjoyment. "Do... not... drink more than one." He knew that by telling Lily this more than once he was probably ensuring that she go ahead and do it anyway's, but he felt it was important he said it anyway's. At least then he wouldn't be responsible when she consumed the entire box and started jittering like a hatching dragon's egg in the Hogwart's Infirmary.

10.26.2024 Watching Albus squirming away from the hug was hilarious. She knew exactly what he was thinking too, because too many times that inviting embrace had been followed up with a violent jab into the shoulder or an attempted headlock. Despite only being a few inches taller than her, Lily always seemed to have trouble getting a full grasp on her brother. He was a squirrely one. She had taught him well. “I mean, it kind of is. I made an order, you concocted some sort of mysterious liquid, and now you’re handing it over to me in a-” she turned her head on the side to see if she could read the bit of label sticking around the bottom edge of the box. “Is that a licorice wands box? Merlin Al, didn’t know you liked them that much.” Lily had no idea if that was actually what the box was, but the sticker looked like it came from the backroom of their Uncle George’s shop. He always had an infinite amount of boxes to steal from. “You know, saying it like that makes it sound more like a drug deal. Stop acting so sketched out. Pretend it’s a late birthday present for me or something.” It was hilarious how serious he was taking this. All he had to do was chill out and be nonchalant about it. The only person that would get angry at him was their mum, and what she didn’t know didn’t hurt her.
Lily took a seat as her brother started laying out the rules for the drinks. She knew there would be rules. There always were. She resorted to twirling a strand of hair around one of her fingers as Albus went on and on about only drinking one a day and how she wasn’t to hand them out willy-nilly to anyone else. Like heck she was going to do that! These were her energy drinks and hers alone. Maybe the only person she would poison them with would be Cordelia, because that would hilarious to see the Hufflepuff bouncing off the walls. A small grin formed on her face at the thought of it, only going away when Albus started to slide the box towards her. Her greedy little fingers found their way towards it, just in time to have it yanked away from them. “Okay! Okay! Only one a day. I got it Al. Pinky promise I won’t drink them all the second I get back to my dorm. Can I have them now?” she said, sticking her little finger across the table for her brother to agree on. Like she was going to actually listen to him! Energy drinks, Potter made or not, couldn’t stop her.

HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN SHE'D STAND FIRM ON the 'drug' front. Anything to make it sound cooler than it actually was. His little sister had always had a flair for the dramatics. "It's not 'mysterious'," He said firmly, rolling his eyes with a sigh as he realised how futile it would be to tell her. "I made it myself, there's an ingredients list printed on the back." He informed her, though he doubted she'd ever take much time to look at such a boring list.
However, Lily's careful squinting at the box he'd brought them all in made him immediately uncomfortable. "I... didn't eat a whole box-" He snapped, covering the label with his hand as he scowled at her haughtily. "Don't be stupid, I asked for an empty spare." He liked liquorice, but nobody liked it that much.
Despite his many rules, Albus didn't think he was being unreasonable. He stared at her silently, and sternly, his hand still firmly on the box. He could get in trouble if somebody reacted badly to it. It was a favour to her, but also an experiment of sorts for him. He'd always loved a challenge. And as silly as it seemed, he accepted her offered pinkie, squeezing her tiny finger once before letting go. Just as they'd done as children. After a another moment of silent glaring, he relinquished his hold on the box and let her snatch it up. Holding his hands up as he muttered, "It's your problem now."
Sitting back, Albus felt relieved to have them off his hands. He'd been perfecting his formula for weeks, it felt good to pass them on to the 'customer'. Though, he didn't entirely trust her with them, he wouldn't know until he gave her a chance. Crossing his arms, he frowned at her devilish little smile. "You know I won't make you more if you mess this up, right?" He informed her carefully, donning a little smirk of his own. "So, you better follow my rules." He shrugged his shoulders in self-satisfaction. "And I'll find out if you don't." He didn't know for sure, but he still acted like he would. He liked her thinking he had little spies still roaming the halls.

10.26.2024 “Sure it is,” Lily shot back. “I’m calling it mysterious, therefore it is.” She didn’t really care if there was an ingredients list on the back or not, because once all of it was put together as one drink, there was no telling what it would do to her. Al said it was an energy drink, but maybe that was only to him. It could be poison for her, which still would be pretty fun. A story for the ages, how she enlisted her brother to make her a magical energy drink only for it to almost do her in. Still, Lily flipped the box around so she could look at the ingredients list that he was talking about, only giving it a solid second of her attention before turning it back around again. “Yeah looks safe to me. Still mysterious though.” Flashing a toothy grin at him, she leaned back in her chair as he stuttered out his response about not eating the whole box of licorice wands. The way he reacted to her inquisition made it seem like he actually had. Not like that was inherently a bad thing; she had done that plenty of times in the past, usually accompanied by a stomachache a few hours later. “It’s nothing to be embarrassed about Al. Just means were basically the same person. Except I got the looks.” Wiggling her eyebrows at him daringly, she crossed her arms across her chest to await his response.
Lily didn’t maintain her vigilance long though, because her offered pinky-promise was met, and she switched gears to the deal they were striking. He kept warning about not making any more if she screwed it up, yadda yadda, something about how he would know if she did, blah blah blah, and that she had to follow the rules. How many times was he going to repeat the same thing over and over again? Despite doing the pink-swear and her chiding him about treating it like a drug deal, he still was. “I pinky promised Al,” she said again as she took hold of the box, tugging on it gently until he finally let go of it. Now it was all hers. She had half the mind to pick it up and run out of the Broomsticks, leaving Al in her dust. But that wouldn’t bode well for her future orders of the drink. Playing by his rules (at least in front of him) was going to be her best bet to secure more of the drink. “So what exactly happens if I drink more than one?” she asked, curious to know the side effects of the drink and what she was getting herself into. Not that those really mattered to her at the end of the day. Becoming a jittery mess was in her future, energy drinks or not.

WITH A WORLD WEARY SIGH, ALBUS ROLLED HIS eyes at his little sister, but didn't fight her any longer. His disdain for her position was clear on his face. That was the only viable way to argue with Lily and feel like you had won. As long as she thought she had the last word, he could get away with it. Let her think what she wanted, he knew exactly what had went in to it and had tested it for months before he even considered telling her he'd fully agreed.
Leaning back on his seat, Albus rubbed at his nose in agitation. He loved his sister, but there wasn't a line she didn't bite. "Yeah, right." He scoffed, lifting his brows as he wrinkled his nose at her. "You keep telling yourself that." He pretended to entertain the idea before adding. "You're more like James." He said that as if it were an insult, his lifted brows a dare as he smirked at her. He loved his older brother, but James had always been a little bit vain. As Lily was unpredictable.
He finally relinquished the box, and was already regretting it. She lorded over it like a magpie would over a piece of silver. But, he'd done his best to warn her, it was her responsibility now. But, responsibility and Lily didn't exactly go hand in hand. Deep down, he felt like she'd already done exactly what he'd told her not to. And they hadn't even parted ways yet. "Really?" He snapped, exasperated. The fact that she even asked seemed to prove a point to him. He had to warn her off somehow. "Heart palpitations, blurred vision, vomiting, you could pass out." He was sort of exaggerating, those side effects only seemed to happen if a person consumed more than four at one time.
"I did the tests, Lily." He grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest as he narrowed his eyes at her. "There's a reason you didn't get them until October." The best he could do was be very clear, and answer any curiosities she might have that would prompt her to find out for herself. "And that's not even factoring in a metabolism effected by lycanthrope." He gave her a very stern look before forcing himself to relax, one facial muscle at a time. "One is more than enough, greedy." It was up to Lily whether or not she'd like to learn that lesson the easy way or the hard way.

10.26.2024 Getting under her brother’s skin was too easy. All she had to do was open her mouth, say a few ridiculous things, and he was irritated. Obviously in a situation like this, where he had produced magical liquid energy that had the potential to kill her if she downed the entire case in one sitting, she needed to push all of his buttons until he was red in the face, a volcano of Potter fury ready to explode at any second. What Al lacked in their mum’s red-hair, he made up for in his temperament, and Lily was the perfect person to bring that part out of him.
“What’s wrong with being like James?” she asked, tilting her head to the side in a challenging manner, trying to pull him back in once again. “I think you’re more like him, personally. What you need to do, Al, is loosen up a bit. Get a girlfriend, get laid, you know, the usual.” Lily could imagine the look on their mum’s face if she had heard the words that had just come out of her daughter’s mouth. She had said worse for sure, but egging on Albus required a specific set of vulgarity and immaturity, both of which were right up her alley.
She waved off the side-effects as Albus began to list them. Those were nothing compared to what she went through every month. Not like he knew what that was actually like. “That doesn’t sound all that bad. Playing Quidditch in a thunderstorm does the same thing.” She knew she wasn’t wrong, and she couldn’t hide the smirk on her face because of it. Her added feign of surprise as Albus went on to say that he had ‘run tests’ on the drinks to make sure they were fine for her hopefully wouldn’t be lost. At most, she expected him to brew the things up and then fork them over. He was going all out this time to actually make something that worked. “But you make it sound like I could have at least two at a time and not be effected by it,” Lily said quickly. She would wear the title of greedy on her sleeve for the rest of her life if it meant she could get her way now.

TILTING HIS HEAD LIKE THE MERE IDEA DEEPLY insulted him, Albus leaned over and pinched his sisters wrist when she compared him to James. Though their brother was a highly respected individual among his peers, Albus had very little patience for his theatrics. Much the same as with his little sister Lily. "Take that back!" He snapped, his eyes narrowing to slits. "It's fine for you," He grumbled, rolling his eyes skyward as he sat back in a slump. "You didn't have to play messenger for all his little fangirls." Twisting his lips in a grimace, he sniffed at her, wishing they could trade places.
"As for my love life," His eyes roamed the pub self consciously, jaw grinding. "That's none of your business." Albus knew that Lily liked to poke and prod at him. More than once their mum had had to separate the two scrapping siblings, as Lily liked a fight and Albus fell to easily in to one. He had an inferno for a temper. "And I'm not taking suggestions." His arms crossed stiffly, and he suddenly wished he hadn't bothered visiting at all. And then he felt immediately guilty, because he knew that his sister tended to struggle and without him there to help pull her back on to the right path, he worried after her often.
"Well," Albus sighed, feeling a little wicked as he smirked at her. "Not like you're playing anymore, anyways, right?" Because Quidditch had been something his sister had been truly good at. It paid to have a father and a mother with a true affinity for it. She'd sucked up all the good remaining sports genes after James. The fact that she wasn't playing any more was incredibly telling. Of her shift in attitude and priority. Both troubling if you looked too long.
A very severe look overcame him and he shot it towards her. Face full of firm lines and a wrinkle between his brows. "You could," He said plainly, his fingers splayed across the table between them as he seemed to be working up to the rest of his sentence. "But I'd know, and then I'd never make you any more." It was, for him, as simple as that. Sure, she might get sick, and that could fall back on him, but he'd win in the end. "Plus," He picked a loose thread from his shirt sleeve and discarded it casually. "Do you really want to worry mum any more than usual?" This was, perhaps, the lowest blow. But, Albus was willing to go there.

10.26.2024 “Ow!” she yelled as Albus’s hand sped across the table and pinched her. She could have screamed it louder and even the people at the table next to them wouldn’t have noticed. That was why the Three Broomsticks was the perfect place for possible illegal drink transactions and maybe the best place to plan a murder. “That’s because they knew they could use you Al. You’re kind of easy like that,” she said honestly. A simple no was all he had to say to them. At the same time though, these were James’s fangirls they were talking about, and some of the ones that existed in school were raving lunatics about him. Harry Potter’s son and a Quidditch prodigy. There were times where it even made Lily a little sick to her stomach, and she was often called out as the Hogwarts looney. Love struck and bonkers mad was solely reserved for Adrian, and she didn’t have any competition there.
Lily stuck her tongue out in retaliation to the pinch and Albus’s indignation to her words. “It’s one-hundred percent my business. I need to know who to drive away from you and who gets a free pass to a glorious life with Albus Potter. That’s basically my number one job as your sister, you know.” He blew off her offer for suggestions before she even made it, and a number of names of girls she knew went with it. One day she would shove some unsuspecting, poor soul into her brother’s arms and off they would go into eternal bliss. Maybe. Albus probably wouldn’t let her get away with that, because it would ultimately be another win for her.
“Your point? If this does everything to me that Quidditch does, without the effort, then I’m all in. And I don’t have to play if I don’t want to.” Her excuse as of late whenever someone asked her why she had left the house team was that she had gotten bored of it. The real reason was because getting on her broom reminded her of her dad, and he wasn’t there to watch her play anymore. Lily found it easier to wallow in her own sorrow behind a mask, and she was doing pretty well with it by throwing it on around Albus.
It was dirty to use their mum like that. Lily’s lip curled up in a snarl at her brother, and she stood up from her chair abruptly, the force from her legs knocking it down behind her. “What’s wrong with you?” she asked, hoping she would get the answer she wanted. If not, she was debating whether to leave the stupid drinks with him. She didn’t need them if they were going to be tainted with that.

ALBUS SCOWLED AT LILY'S PLAIN DEDUCTION OF him, disagreeing completely as he rolled his eyes. Secretly, however, he wondered if maybe she was right. Maybe he was too easy, too soft, too weak to refuse a couple of moon-eyed girls convinced they could win his brother's heart. "Least I'm not a neurotic psycho!" He snapped back, his voice an octave higher and strung like a bow. She'd smarted his pride, as usual. Lily just said whatever came in to her mind, never thinking about the consequences. Al hated that about her.
And then, Lily would say something so ridiculous that it made Al laugh. He snorted without restraint, his hands pulling at a cardboard coaster on the table, unable to stop himself from pulling at a tear in the corner as he rolled his eyes. "I don't need you to play match-making for me." He told her with a shrewd stare, knowing that if she got an idea in to her head she always seemed to make it true. "Just... mind your business, troll-face." He'd given her the potions, but that wasn't an invitation for her to stick her nose in to his business. That part of her had been harder to avoid in school. But, now that he had graduated and gone off on his own path he'd been suspiciously free of Lily's patented meddling.
"Whatever," Al drawled, knowing that Lily took to meddling even less than he did. In fact, perhaps it was even as he crossed his arms and huffed. "I know you still love it." He accused her, shaking his head in disbelief at her own stubbornness. Al didn't know why Lily didn't fly any more, but he knew her well enough - had avoided losing his head from the swipe of an overhead broomstick long enough - to know that his sister loved flying in a way that she couldn't shake. "Maybe you'll convince mum because she doesn't know any better most of the time, but not me."
Ginny had lost her memory and with it some of the deepest understandings of her children. Her instincts were as sharp as ever, but Al knew she struggled in some places. He knew that he felt a certain absence sometimes. Doubled down by their father's disappearance. He'd always felt seen on some level, but not any more. He wondered if Lily felt the same way. She was up in her seat in a shot, and Al hadn't meant anything by his fleeting comment. He'd been honest, as he usually was, and Lily had taken it badly - as she usually did.
"Sit down!" He hissed at her, his nostrils flaring. "You're making a scene over nothing!" This he said with a furious contempt as he stared up at her seething figure, his eyes furtively glances at the tables around them. "Why do you act like that?" He asked her haughtily, his nose wrinkling. "Not everything is an attack, you know." He told her, gripping the edge of the table like he wanted to shoot to his feet too. "It's important that we keep our cool right now." He meant this in many different ways. "Mum doesn't need anything else to worry about." Al added, his tone lowering as he dropped his gaze. "It doesn't have to be about you, Lily."

▲ Rolling her eyes at Albus really should’ve been added as an Olympic sport because years of doing it to him had led her to complete perfection. There had probably never been a conversation between the two of them that didn’t at least one hard, fully invested eye roll at him, and today was no different. “I’ll take that as a compliment, as long as you don’t mind,” Lily countered. She was only proving her point that he was ridiculous by accepting that, and he was also sort of correct. In a way. That was what made her, her, after all. Better to be a psycho and allowed to do whatever she wanted in life than to be a plain Jane like Albus was. Everything he did with his life was boring. How on earth did he manage to get up in the morning and not be bored with his own existence? Taking everything so seriously had definitely stunted his growth or something. Having her and James as siblings should’ve made him enjoy life. It wasn’t that difficult to do in the Potter household. “Just because of that, I’m definitely doubling down and finding you a nice, plain, boring girl. I think I know a few already. And guess what? They’ll love me, and you’ll have to deal with that the rest of your life. Because I’m not going to ever let it go.” She was serious about that too. Because Albus was never going to act on his own. His prospective partners would either be a bore or complete control freaks. Lily preferred the former because she wanted to him to be at least a little happy, but someone to put him in his place when she wasn’t around would be fine too. She ignored the bit about Quidditch, because quite frankly, she was done with the sport. It hurt not to be playing, and there were plenty of days where her hands literally ached to grab a broom and fly around wildly. But that was done with. She skipped out on going to the Quidditch matches and had given up on reading about the professional teams, except for when she knew James was playing. He was her only connection to the sport anymore, and supporting him thoroughly was better than bending to their family’s legacy. Plus, she didn’t owe Al an explanation for why she stopped. If he used his minimal brain cells to think about it, he’d understand too. Quidditch didn’t really matter when there were more important things to worry about out there. Lily wanted to yell and make a scene, and for a moment, she almost did. The clattering of the chair on the ground behind her had definitely drawn a few looks, the prickly feeling of eyes staring at the back of her head indicating so, before life in the pub returned to normal. She left the chair where it was though, her hands clenched tightly into tiny fists and her jaw locked in place. “Then don’t make it about me. She doesn’t have to worry about me. And obviously dad doesn’t either. I’m perfectly fine without their input.” MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

ALBUS FELT HIS IRRITATION MOUNTING AS HIS little sister clung to her ridiculous notions. He knew, however, that this was precisely what she wanted. She wanted him to blow up and perhaps lash out, that would certainly mean she had won their battle of wills. Or at least, that is how he viewed her ill intentions. He couldn't possible consider the fact that she was utterly serious.
"They could be the love of my life and I'd still say no." Albus said spitefully, a sour little smile on his face. "So go ahead and waste your time." He crossed his arms firmly and leaned back in his seat. "Anything so you don't have to do any actual work, right?" This, of course, was a snipe at Lily's poor scores and complete lack of academic success, a low blow some might say, but Albus was tired of covering for her. Though things had gotten considerably worse after their dad had died.
Al felt his cheeks heat with embarrassment and shame as he watched a few bystanders crane their heads to see why Lily had made such a ruckus. He knew he'd look like the jackass in this situation, but he really didn't think that he was. Lily was just...
"You're so bloody dramatic." He told her with superiority, his expression stiff as he flicked his wrist and the chair righted itself behind her silently, even pushing in to catch her at the back of the legs and force her bottom back on to it. Reaching in to his pocket, he pulled out his sack of coins and dropped a few sickles and a couple of galleons on to the table.
"She worries about all of us, you know." Albus said as he pocketed his pouch of coins and began clearing up after himself. "But I guess it's my job to keep clearing up after you, right?" His expression was almost resentful as he watched closely. "Sometimes appearances are all we've got." And then he stood up and grabbed his coat, ready to leave. "Owl me if you overdose, yeah?" And then just before he left, his expression almost defeated, he added, "Don't owl mum first." Which seemed obvious, but he wanted it on record.

▲ Finding Al the love his life wasn’t a distraction from anything she was doing! How stupid was that? She could do it in between classes or even recruit Jimmie Blishwick’s dad to do it for her! Especially if Al was going to be this stubborn about the whole thing. He needed that special someone in his life literally just so he wasn’t so wound up all the time when he was around family. She was starting to get tired of his whining and attempts at pushing her buttons. All she was trying to do was help him, and apparently he didn’t see it that way. “Merlin Al, I just want you to be happy for once in your life. There’s nothing wrong with that, you know?” Lily shook her head, knowing that now was the time to stop with all of that. He would continue to shut down until she gave up anyways, and it was better to end it on her terms. At least then they could come back to it on another day without too much heat on it. There were other problems at hand anyways. Like how he was absolutely correct about her need to escalate everything to a level of drama incapable by other people. Sure, jumping out of her chair was probably a step too far for a public place, but it wasn’t like this was anything new for the Broomsticks. People were always yelling and getting into it here. That was part of the Broomsticks’ charm. Lily’s indignation on the topic of their parents wasn’t going to budge a centimeter as long as it meant she was right. She didn’t want anyone to worry about her, since she was perfectly fine. Albus seemed done with her for the day though, collecting his jacket and preparing to leave, letting her know that she had to let him know first if anything bad happened with his drinks. “Yeah, whatever. If I’m half dead the school will notify her first anyways,” she grumbled as he walked by her and left the pub. Lily gave him a few minutes for a head start before collecting up her drinks and placing the chair she had knocked over back to where it belonged, immediately departing the Broomsticks so that she could go back to her dorm and hide her drinks. She supposed she could heed his warnings and drink them one at a time on special occasions… [THE END] MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
