JI-YU HADN’T BEEN AROUND DURING the olden chaos of Voldemort or his wars with the younger students and even Harry Potter. Sure, she was alive then, but Ji-Yu was only a baby when the events had ended. And even then, she was hundreds of miles apart from the chaos of it all. Even as she grew though, there wasn’t a moment the Choi didn’t hear about the events, as it was deemed an important moment in all of wizards’ kind, but she was simply intrigued in it, so it didn’t bother her much. Though, chaos had only seemed to follow the newer generation of students, the children of those a time before now with the Purifiers coming along, and Ji-Yu hoped she wouldn’t face it all for long.
Considering how blunt Blaise was, his choice of words no longer surprised Ji-Yu, especially how freely he spoke about his father’s supposed death. Quietly, Ji-Yu listened to his explanation, eyes widening and returning back to normal with every moment. Blaise had seemed to live a wild life from pretty much birth. ”A fair choice of words…I suppose?” But it was nice to hear the story of his wife. People tended to reconnect in the strangest of ways. ”That’s nice though! We all connect and reconnect in odd ways so I’m glad the two of you were able to.”
She nodded in understanding now, and began to perhaps reconsider her motives for when Gilderoy would attend her classes. Sure, each student with a popular name had something to them, but she couldn’t be nice to every individual. ”I tried to give one of his stories a read, but I couldn’t bring myself to finishing the novel. The story felt too fake.” She admitted with a smile.

▲ The Zabini family history always brought out the same reaction in everyone Blaise recounted it to. These were tales of old – something that the Ministry and other magical governing bodies would look into these days since they had nothing better to do. The terrible fates of his step-fathers were mostly due to age related illnesses and other non-magical occurrences. Their individual bank accounts being added to his mother’s was quite nice though, and one day that would be all his to do nothing with. He already lived lavishly as it was, and the only positive he could see coming from it was helping his children with whatever monetary issues they could potentially come under. Knowing both of them though, that probably wouldn’t happen either. That only left a really nice spot to retire to. Going back to Italy sounded perfect to him. “Yes, well, I didn’t think very highly of her while we were in school. The same went for most of my classmates though. All I needed was a little dose of reality and it all fell into place.” Being broken over and over again during the hit-wizard training did wonders for the eighteen year old Zabini boy. It instilled values where there had been none previously and showed him that he was nothing. That had changed over the years, of course, and he actually had something to show for all that hard work now. If only his students could see that the same would apply to them if they gave it a chance. Instead, they were always dramatic about everything. Professor Choi voiced her own thoughts on one of Lockhart Sr.’s books, and Blaise couldn’t help contain his grin. She wasn’t wrong at all. He had always assumed that the rave reviews on the books were because they were close to reality and that everyone was a fan of Lockhart’s charm would overlook the obvious fallacies in his stories. Or maybe that was assuming too much of people. “Just goes to show how even an unassuming person such as Lockhart will go to great lengths to achieve popularity. Can’t say I approve of that at all.”@jiyu ● 358 ● Final Hours - Remixed by Theophany MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

JI-YU ONLY WISHED THAT HER life would somehow be…eventful as she grew but with a lot less chaos weaved in. In her twenty-six years of living, the only interesting thing Ji-Yu could write in a biography of her life was that she had finally taken the chance to travel and learn things that were different from her own culture growing up. She hadn’t faced off an evil wizard, fought against dozens or done any of the sort…But it would be somewhat cool if she ever had the opportunity to sometime in her life. ”I feel like that’s love at its finest though. You don’t think about much of it until you’re with the person.” She shrugged at the thought though, considering the Charms Professor hadn’t experienced…love herself. And she was growing old with each passing day.
Ji-Yu then laughed at Blaise’s words, her hand raising to slightly cover her mouth as she did. ”I just can’t believe people actually…let him publish those things? Especially the works involving vampires…I think that was the funniest of his works I attempted to read.”

▲ “That is a very accurate observation on love, Professor Choi,” Blaise chuckled. What had taken him over two decades to fully understand and a few more to expertly describe, his newest colleague wisely put into two sentences with what seemed to be very little effort. Apparently everyone figured it out at different paces and he wasn’t nearly as devoid of it during his formative as he thought he had been. Throwing children into the mix of it certainly helped with his understanding of the emotion, and, in a way, it could be argued that the love for his children was even stronger than that of his wife. In different ways, of course, since they were born from differing emotions and times in his life. “Everything does happen for a reason, scarily enough. It all depends on if you take advantage of it when it presents itself, or let it go for another try later on,” he mused. If someone had told him while he was in school that he would someday marry Daphne Greengrass, Blaise would have laughed them all the way out of the castle. But like he just said, everything happened for a reason, and in this case, it worked out in his favor. Blaise shrugged at her question. There were a lot of things that didn’t make sense in the magical community. Gilderoy Lockhart Sr. writing a series of best-selling novels didn’t surprise him in the slightest. “He pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes. That’s really all I can say about it.” Reading Lockhart’s books now (which Blaise would never do because he disliked both Senior and Junior immensely), would probably prove to be a nice source of fictional reading. He was positive his wife still had her old autographed set somewhere at home, tucked away in a dusty corner of their library with Lockhart’s pearly white teeth flashing from the cover every once in a while. Aside from teaching his son, having the books in his home was the closest Blaise ever wanted to be to dealing with his former professor again. The man was a scam artist and a fool, and deserved everything that had happened to him. @jiyu ● 363 ● Unaware by Billie Martin MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
