HOGSMEADE WEEKEND: December 2024Hogsmeade weekend was still Joe's favorite part of Hogwarts. Probably because it meant that he wasn't really at Hogwarts. It was the one time he was away from the castle, other than when he was on the quidditch pitch. Slowly, he was getting used to it. Making new friends had definitely helped. Dom was one of those new friends. Today Joe was planning on hand delivering an invitation to his family's New Years Eve party to her. The party would be back in New York, but the invitation information led to a portkey on the night of the party. His family took their parties very seriously. Not only did they love to show off their house and material items, they loved any reason to have a good time and entertain. Mother and Father Fontaine were very hospitable and people liked to joke that they had more money than they could spend.
The one place Joe was certain that he could find the redhead was the candy shop in Hogsmeade. He remembered her telling him that she ended up getting the job at Honeydukes the last time he saw her, so he figured he'd try to find her personally before sending her an owl. As Joe stepped into Honeydukes, he was pleased to see Dom at the counter helping a mother and child with their selection. His eyes curiously scanned the shelves of goodies as he waited for Dom to complete her sale, silently judging the goodies as he patiently waited for Dom. He wasn't in any rush, the only reason he went to Hogsmeade today was to chat with Dom and drop off her invitation. @dominique

The one thing Dom learned from the last few months was that being a shopkeeper was definitely not something on her to-do list. Being a cashier was lame enough! She didn't have a hard time with the work of course. It was simple to help people find what they needed and take their money once they were ready to buy it, but it was so boring. She lived for the weekends when students could come to the village. While some people didn't like working those weekends, they were the highlight of her job. The students brought excitement to the village and an energy that she loved. Many of them recognized her and so she had lots of fun conversations too.
Dom actually switched shifts with a coworker today so she could work the morning when students would be allowed to come to Hogsmeade. Of course, most of them didn't come early. It was December and they wanted to sleep in, she figured. So, she helped with the older people that came in, waiting for someone she knew to walk through the doors.
Annoyingly enough, the first person to walk in the shop that she actually knew came in just after a young mother and her daughter. Dom was already helping the pair when she noticed Joe walk in. Just seeing him made her smile a little more real. Someone was here! She could only hope that he wouldn't leave when he saw she was busy. Dom tried to help the mother and daughter find their sweets quickly, but they were being very indecisive and she found herself getting more and more impatient with them, though she tried to hide it with a smile. "Have a great day, we hope to see you again soon," Dom said once the woman finished paying and started walking away.
Joe was on the other side of the room, looking at a display of sweets. Dom came out from behind the counter and made her way over to him. "Fancy seeing you here," she commented softly as she approached. She couldn't see her boss and didn't want him to get annoyed by her flirting with customers, but this was Joe! She couldn't help it.

HOGSMEADE WEEKEND: December 2024Joe wasn't too concerned about the indecisive customer she was helping, he was honestly happy to not have to work a candy counter, he wouldn't have enough patience for people indecisiveness and allergies. As he followed the length of the counter curiously, he heard the till close and Dom bidding the customers farewell. Joe smiled when she approached, offering her a quick hug, nothing that would make her boss raise a brow. The last thing Joe wanted to do was get her into trouble at her new job. "Hey, You." he greeted with a wink and charming grin.
His expression fell on her when he scanned the empty shop. "You got a minute to take a break or something?" Joe asked curiously, shooting her a hopeful look. His green eyes glinted slightly when he was talking to her and he didn't even notice it. Dom was gorgeous, and very charismatic. He really enjoyed her company the last couple of times he spent time with her and he was hoping to spend time with her on New Years if she was interested. Joe wasn't looking for anything serious and he knew that Dom wasn't either, she was just a fun and flirty girl, so she was the perfect candidate as a date for his family's party.

She could tell that Joe knew she was walking up to him, even before she arrived there. He was smiling at the candy and then at her, giving her a quick hug. Dom chuckled and hugged him back before stepping back a little, just in case her boss was watching. Ugh, how she hated having to act professional in situations like this. Normally Dom would've given him a kiss on the cheek as a greeting, like she did when she saw most of her friends outside of work, but that wasn't an option right now. She smiled right back at him when he winked. "Hey," she said simply.
He asked if she could take a break and Dom's eyes lit up. She loved reasons to take breaks! She glanced over at the clock. It was almost time for one of her breaks. "Give me a minute," she answered softly. "Don't go anywhere," Dom added as a joke, winking at him now before walking toward the door that led to the back. She found her boss and asked if she could take her break right now, telling him that it was still pretty slow. He agreed, standing up to come onto the floor so she could leave. When he saw the young man standing in his store, looking expectantly at Dom, he told her to take her time, but make sure she was back by the time it was busy. Dom grinned and nodded, thanking him before making her way back over to Joe. "I'm all yours," she said, grabbing his hand because she knew it would make her boss excited. Also, she didn't mind holding hands with people, especially someone fun like Joe. She already knew he wouldn't read too much into it.

HOGSMEADE WEEKEND: December 2024Dom told Joe to stay where he was while she disappeared to the back, probably to ask for permission to take a break. Within seconds she was back and pulling him toward the shop door, telling him that she was all his. That was how he liked it. "Perfect. Thanks for making time for me." he smiled, opening the door for her to lead her out of the shop. Some fresh air would be good for her. As they stepped out onto the cobblestone walkway, Joe turned toward Dom so that he could get a good look at her, she was just as radiant as ever.
"Do you have any plans for New Years Eve?" Joe asked Dom, extending a crisp white envelope toward the pretty redhead. After his question, he continued with more information. "My family has a huge New Years Eve party every year, and I wanted to personally invite you to New York for the celebration if you were interested." He told her, hoping that she would accept the invitation.

Joe followed easily enough as Dom pulled him toward the door. He held it open for her like a gentleman and Dom rolled her eyes at him. "Honestly, like there was any question of that. I was hoping someone would show up and get me out of there," Dom answered with a grin. Once outside in the fresh air, she closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath in, appreciating the beautiful, chill air. She loved this time of year. Walking outside and being able to see your breath, playing in the snow and sliding on ice. It was just plain fun. She opened her eyes, a little surprised when she saw Joe watching her, but she didn't mind that at all. She quirked an eyebrow at him inquisitively, but didn't say anything.
He did. The next thing she knew, he was asking if she had plans for New Years Eve and holding out an envelope towards her. Dom shook her head, taking the envelope as her smile widened. She looked at the envelope for a second. It seemed fancy and expensive. When he continued, she looked up at him with interest. "You're inviting me to come to New York to celebrate New Years?" she echoed, her eyes twinkling with delight. "Of course I'm interested! That sounds amazing!" She leaned forward, wrapping her arms around him in a big, tight hug. When she pulled away, she was smirking. "So are you delivering these personally to all the cute girls you know or am I special? Just so I can know what to expect at this party." Dom looked up at him, a faux innocent expression on her face that she was certain he would see through. Of course she was teasing him. This was Dom, after all.

HOGSMEADE WEEKEND: December 2024Joe nodded his head up and down with a smile to confirm her question. Doms arms wrapped around his neck for a hug and he laughed, quite amused by her joke about him hand delivering invitations to all the cute girls. Normally, he didn't care to hand deliver invitations because it was more of an open invite thing, but since Dom didn't go to Hogwarts he wanted to be sure she got the news before it was too late. Shaking his head in disagreement, "Just hand delivering it to my date." Joe hinted, a grin spreading across his face. "Hopefully she says yes..." The snake joked, feigning a dreamily hopeful expression to make Dom laugh. He knew that she would make an incredible date because she wasn't going to try to tie him down or force him to behave. She'd be willing to partake in whatever shenanigans that were happening that night. Joe quirked an eyebrow at Dom, "What do you say, Dom? You ready to party like New Yorker?" he asked, enunciating New Yorker dramatically.

Joe was laughing, probably because of her ridiculous teasing and jokes, but that's what they were for so Dom wasn't really concerned at all. If anything, she was glad that it worked. She liked finding things that could make people laugh, because then it was always easier for her to make them laugh in the future. Still, Dom waited to see how he'd answer her question, or what he'd say after them. He surprised her by saying that he was hand delivering an invitation to his date and hoping that she'd say yes. Dom laughed at the childishly hopeful look on his face, positive that he was being goofy just for her and loving it, but ... she loved teasing more. Dom was never one to pass up the opportunity, so she quirked her head to the side, tapping her chin thoughtfully as she looked over at Joe. Of course, she was going to say yes, but she wondered if it was possible to make him squirm, wondering what she was going to say, or if he already knew what her answer would be. She laughed when he asked if she was ready to party like a New Yorker. "Absolutely not!" She answered fervently, smirking up at him, "I'm ready to show New Yorkers how to really party!" Just in case that wasn't clear enough, she giggled before adding, "I'm definitely going to look forward to our date." There. Joe wouldn't misunderstand that.
She laughed again, grabbing his hand to pull him further down the street, away from the candy shop where she worked. "Okay, so what are we going to do now? My boss told me I didn't have to hurry back, as long as I was there when it got busy, so I've still got time." She turned to face Joe, a challenging expression on her face. "How do you plan to entertain me today, Mr. Fontaine?

HOGSMEADE WEEKEND: December 2024His lips curled upwards when she playfully declined the offer to his family's party. He knew that she was playing around, Dom was fun like that, he should have expected some sort of reaction like that. "That's what I like to hear. Plus, c'mon, isn't it fun having a reason to dress all fancy?" Joe asked, nudging her playfully. Of course he'd like to see her in party attire. Joe was sure that Dom knew how to have a good time, all while effortlessly looking good.
When the redhead said that she didn't have to go back to work right away, he perked up slightly. "Oooh, I don't have to return you right away?" Joe asked, slightly surprised, his expression melting into a humorous discovering smile. That sounded like a great deal. Honestly, last time Dom was so busy when he tried to stop by the candy store, he didn't think he'd have much time to hang out with her, so he didn't really think of anything. Joe was great at impromptu hang outs though. It was easy to follow wherever the wind took him.
Joe turned to Dom, the corners of his lips curling upwards. "Hmm...I think I have an idea.." he said, finally thinking of something. He was pretty sure he saw a park in Hogsmeade somewhere. Since Dom had already taken his hand, Joe pulled in in the direction of the park, curious if she'd know where he was going already..

Dom was proud of Joe. They hadn't been able to really see one another since their impromptu date after their adventure in the Shrieking Shack, but he obviously understood her sense of humor. She quirked an eyebrow at him. "Oh? So you're not going to argue and try to convince me that you'll be the one teaching me?" she teased, laughing almost immediately after and shrugging. "I like dressing nice, when I have a reason to." Dom leaned back and looked up at Joe as if she was trying to read his mind. "So ... tell me what you'd prefer. Really fancy Dom that, I'm sure when coupled with you, will easily get the attention of everyone in the room or fancy Dom that's forgettable enough she can slip off with you and do mischief? Though I have a feeling we'll get into mischief either way ... I suppose I'm asking how jealous we want to make everyone else?" Dom laughed, knowing she sounded ridiculous but not even caring.
She shook her head, grinning up at him when he asked if he had to return her. She liked that look on his face, the one that showed he was thinking about something to do. Good. She tilted her head to the side as she waited for him to tell her what they were going to do. She knew Joe understood that she couldn't stay away forever, but she knew he was clever enough to think of something fun they could do. He started pulling her down the street, saying he had an idea and Dom chuckled. At first she had no idea where he was leading her, but then she got an idea. "So ... why are you taking me to the park, sir?" she teased softly, squeezing his hand a little. It was nice that she could flirt with Joe and not worry about it. He was like her in that way, just wanting to have fun and being good at doing it.

HOGSMEADE WEEKEND: December 2024Joe laughed when Dom challenged him to the party comment. "There's no argument needed when I will be showing you first hand." Joe winked with a smile, loving that they could flirt and mess around so effortlessly. She asked him some opinions on attire, more out of jest, but he maintained a straight face. His green eyes met Doms flirtatiously, "I'm sure anything you wear will be unforgettable. All of the girls will be jealous of you regardless, just look at you.." Joe told her, loving any chance he could get to butter her up. They had only hung out on one other occasion, the first time they met, but they connected the moment they met. She was so fun and interesting, it immediately kept him wanting to come back for more... which was why he was here today. Dom was definitely the kind of girl he could get to know, but he was more than happy with playing it easy and breezy, if she was cool with it. Their first encounter had ended in a pretty steamy kiss, so they definitely weren't lacking physical chemistry.
Dom was already onto him asking him dragging her to the park. Dang, maybe he was that predictable. Joe laughed, squeezing her hand, "You're working too hard and need to let out your inner child, hop off some swings, or spin on that carousel-thing you puke." He spun her around by the hand, and stopped comically, offering her a funny look. "Actually, swings would probably be safer, you gotta go back to work..." Joe said as matter of factly with a breathy laugh. "Hop on!" Joe instructed, gesturing to the swings so that he could push her.

Dom laughed, biting her lip to stifle the sound a little as she shook her head, "Oh, it's on now Fontaine." Dom's voice was obviously a challenge to his claim, but that would make it more fun, she thought. "We're going to have to see who can party better when the time comes." It would be fun. She was certain that she and Joe would have a good evening together and she was glad that he'd thought to invite her specifically as his date. She giggled again, tossing her hair over her shoulder as he flattered her, "I guess you are right. Who wouldn't be jealous of me? You'd better stay on your toes so no one will try and steal your date." Of course, Dom didn't see herself that way. Sure, she thought she was pretty, but she didn't think less of others for looking different. Mostly, she was just enjoying the opportunity to tease Joe. He took it so well and was fun to talk to and hang around with. She enjoyed it.
He suggested that she needed to let out her inner child because she was working too hard and Dom giggled again, quirking an eyebrow at him. "You know, my sister would say the opposite and tell me I need to mature more ... but I'm definitely game to let my inner child out." She often did, though not at work. He spun her in a circle before amending his previous comment and suggesting swings instead. "I can do that!" She said, skipping over to the swing and jumping on with ease. She was about to start off when she realized Joe wasn't on the swing beside her. She twisted around to see what he was doing. "You're not going to swing?" Dom asked curiously, suppressing most of the smile on her face in an attempt to tease him yet again.

HOGSMEADE WEEKEND: December 2024An amused smirk danced at the corners of his lips, “Ooh, you’d do me like that, huh?” He nudged her playfully, challenging her with a smile when the redhead joked about finding another date when arriving to the party. “If you wanna break my heart go right for it. At least I got to say a girl as pretty as you was my date, even it was for an hour.” Joe joked with a wink, looking to butter her up or at least make her laugh. He would probably be pretty bummed if she ditched him for some other guy because he enjoyed hanging out with her, but he wouldn’t be mad at her. He didn’t really know her well enough to make a claim on her like that.
Joe pulled the chains of the swing back as far as he could, pulling her over him and pushing her on the back firm but gently to give her maximum air. When her swing came back, he ran under her quickly like a ninja, offering her a goofy smile when he got in front of her. Joe waggled his eyebrows at her, “Psh’yeah I’m gonna swing. Just trying to give you more air...” Joe laughed, before plopping on the swing next to her and swinging next to her. They were actually pretty nice, he never really realized how soothing swinging or rocking could be. @dominique

Joe was so good at understanding her teasing. He nudged her and Dom shrugged, smirking over at him. No, she wouldn't ditch him for someone else, but that was mostly because he was so much fun to be around. He teased her a little bit more about it and Dom laughed, not expecting that at all. "Well let me put your worries to rest. You're the one who invited me. Even if everyone else is jealous, I'm fairly certain I already know who I'll be spending my time with," she said. "Besides, I'm pretty sure there'll be plenty of girls staring at you too. We'll just have to protect one another from everyone else." Dom was still joking, but part of her was serious. She was looking forward to getting to know Joe more. He was fun and interesting and knew how to make her laugh. What wasn't to like about that?
He pulled her swing backwards and let her go and Dom giggled. She couldn't remember the last time someone pushed her in a swing and she surprisingly found the gesture pretty sweet. Then, the next time she came back, he was pushing as he ducked under her and she laughed again. "Thanks for the air. I'm glad you could give me a boost," she teased, starting to pump her legs so she could keep it going. She glanced over at Joe. "I'll bet I can swing higher than you," Dom challenged, unable to help herself. She was a competitive girl. If Joe spent any amount of time with her, he'd learn that quickly.

HOGSMEADE WEEKEND: December 2024Joe was completely consumed by Dominique's teasing and sense of humor. He loved how she kept him on his toes constantly. The fact that the redhead was absolutely gorgeous made him happy to take the teasing remarks, because they were almost always laced with a flirtatious intent. Joe loved a girl who was a challenge. She definitely didn't make things easy for him. He learned that during their first expedition at The Shrieking Shack. It was a completely exhilarating experience with Dom and he found himself thinking about her a lot after that day. Joe knew that he wasn't looking for anything serious relationship-wise...for the longest time he found Kinsey enchanting, but she wasn't really on the market like that. Joe and Kinsey had an interesting relationship, he was willing to ride that wave to see how long it went, but he wasn't expecting anything serious from it. The Ravenclaw had become a very good friend and he cherished the time they spent together. She was a great friend.
The snake chuckled when she challenged him to a swinging competition. "You got shorter legs than me, Shorty, you sure you wanna challenge me...I will leave you in the dust!" he taunted her playfully - his own way of agreeing to the competition. He pumped his legs so that he would swing higher and faster, enjoying the wind in his hair and the freeing feeling that it gave him. "The real competition is seeing how far you can jump." Joe added to the challenge, always ready for any sort of competition. This was much more fun that he anticipated. @dominique
