[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WON'T LET YOU FADE INTO DARKNESS [attr="class","next"] DECEMBER 2024 Christmas was just around the corner and St. Mungo’s was dressed to impress for the season. For the time that she had been at the hospital, she had loved the holiday season within it. Sure, she felt terrible for those that were away from their families because of different types of things, but she enjoyed the spirit that filled the hallways. Maternity was usually busier than the rest of the wards, from her experience, because so many women were getting pregnant and going into labor around the Christmas season. Rhea’s hair was up in a high ponytail, her uniform allowing people to know that she was an employee and not a family member, and her heels clicked against the ground as she walked through the hallways of the hospital. She left behind her ward and was heading to the break room to get a cup of tea and eat her lunch. Just as she turned the corner, she almost walked into someone and grabbed their arm to steady herself and the other person. “Oh—I am so sorry, are you okay?” she questioned the female, she looked familiar, but her name was not coming to mind.

Another Christmas without Noah was one thing Dana was used to. It had been a few months since she last saw Callisto, her decision in mind around the situation of his unexplainable coma. It was strange as to how and why he, or more so his body refused for the younger Knox to wake up but regardless it brought stress to the blonde. Every weekend, when she found herself relived from work she visited her brother in his ward, contacting those who cared on an update. There was barely anything for them to even pay attention to. He was the same.
Pushing the doors open to St. Mungo’s, Dana’s pure intentions for the evening was to spend it by his side, possibly skimming through a few books while her eyes would watch his small chest raise and drop – in time with his steady breathing. Turning a few corners, pale eyes caught onto sickly children embracing their loved ones and in time, shook her head, looking away. But the one thing she wasn’t expecting was to almost walk into another person, somewhat grateful as both of their bodies steadied before the collision.
”N-No it’s okay. I should’ve been watching where I was going.” She smiled, looking up at the woman. ”I’m perfectly fine, are you okay?” She questioned, repeating the woman’s words. Now that Dana had a closer look, she could’ve sworn she knew who the woman was. The same kind facial expressions shouted something at her mind and even the uniform too…But yet, she couldn’t put her finger on it.
@rhea & i'm possibly considering writing a one shot for her bro. seems silly for him to be semi ded for so long when magic is right there

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WON'T LET YOU FADE INTO DARKNESS [attr="class","next"] Luckily the two women had not collided, thankfully to Rhea’s quick thinking of grabbing the woman’s arm to steady the both of them. Quickly, her hand fell to her side as the woman began to speak, stating that she was perfectly fine. She nodded her head, “Yes—I am fine,” she said with a smile on her face, her Greece accent clear and thick as the day she left her home of Athens. Rhea had been working at the hospital since a few months before the attack at King Cross and has loved every minute of it, being able to help others that couldn’t be help and remove their pain—it was what she lived for. Now she knew the woman before her wasn’t a patient, but she seemed familiar to the woman. Perhaps a family member of a patient in her ward? Or maybe one from another that she had stopped by here and there? “Are you a family member of a patient here?” she questioned curiously, “You look familiar…sorry, I don’t mean to pry,” she said with a soft laugh, tucking a strand of brunette hair behind her ear. She didn’t want to seem like she was prying into someone’s life, especially if they were a family member of something that was seriously hurt within the hospital. Something she prayed was not the case.

Dana smiled once the woman confirmed she was okay. She noticed the hint of an European accent, but to where the Knox could link it escaped her mind. ”Good.” She breathed out, moving her arms behind her back, lightly rocking back on her feet. Looking around as the two stood in a brief silence, blue eyes lit up at the woman’s next question. ”Ah, yes! I’m usually here every other weekend and most of the major holidays. That us Brits have anyway.” She began, intertwining her hands behind her back.
”Noah. Noah Woods-Konx, he’s my younger brother. He’s been here for sometime now.” And here came the family story. ”All the Doctors and Nurses I’ve spoken to say his condition is rather strange….He’s stuck in a sort of coma, following an…incident. A Muggle sort.” Dana paused, gathering her thoughts, breathing deeply to prevent threatening tears. ”I think I’ve made up my mind for the beginning of the year to have him go under this…Surgery a friend recommended.” She didn’t mean to talk the Nurse’s ear off, but that was a summary of it all. ”But with Christmas coming, I just wanted to see him.” She smiled.
Dana cleared her throat before pushing some of her blonde curls over her shoulder. ”I’m Dana. Dana Woods-Knox.” She introduced, holding out her hand to the nurse in greeting.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WON'T LET YOU FADE INTO DARKNESS [attr="class","next"] The name Noah Woods-Knox sounded familiar, was that the same boy that was in the coma in one of the wards that she had visited? Seconds later, the young blonde was revealing that he was in fact in a coma due to a muggle accident. She nodded her head, he was a odd case but whenever Rhea went to visit him and take his hand, there was very little pain within him. When he had first came in, that had been a different story—but as time went on, the pain began to dull as if he were slowly waking up. She revealed that a friend had recommended a surgery that she was going to have him go under in the beginning of the new year, and the brunette nodded her head. She had heard of the surgery, but not many patients underwent it—not from what she had heard, at least. ‘I’m Dana. Dana Woods-Knox,’ Rhea smiled and took her outstretched hand and shook it, “Rhea, Rhea Dimas. I’m a healer in the creature-induced injury ward. But I’ve seen your brother, I sort of flutter around the ward due to my ability,” she said with a small smile on her face. She didn’t go into detail, some people wanted to know while others didn’t. If Dana asked, she would share.

TO MANY, NOAH’S case was filled with unanswered questions and investigations. After all, his fatal state had been obtained from a muggle incident but the truth behind his long-term coma had never been discovered. It was as if something in his sub-conscious held him back from waking up, or that’s what she was told by Callisto the last time she had visited. Even Dana, his older sister was confused by it all. Now as his legal guardian, she had taken the seriousness of his future…Quite seriously. What else could you do with no mother around? Taking the Muggle home that once belonged to her parents, Dana decided it would be best to bring Noah to a place he was familiar with upon his wakings. That is, if the future surgery was a success.
With their hands shaken, Dana’s forced smile soon formed a genuine one, especially at her job title. Long ago Dana was once interested in healers, medics, the whole ordeal of working within the hospital, given her mother’s own history in St. Mungos. But alas, her love for space and simply gazing off had steered her future into another direction. ”Nice to meet you Rhea.” Returning her hand by her side, the blonde felt her head cock to the side in interest. Ability? She had heard of many wizards picking up a strange but unique ability in her younger years and always those who did. ”What sort of ability?” She curiously asked.
