He said the cakes were all magnificent and she nodded. "I think I'll do three different flavors. So you pick one and I'll make sure it's there," she promised. She suggested she try another cake and she reached forward to take it. It was a dark purple color with some black laced throughout. She took a bite and her eyes widened, then she lowered it. "It's blueberry lavender! That's Blairs favorite," she said excitedly. "If the color wasn't enough. Oh, he's going to be so excited," she clapped her hands together, setting the cupcake down before doing so.
"I think I'll go for a chocolate one," she giggled. "Any thoughts on your favorite flavor so far?"

Jace nodded thoughtfully when Lydia suggested that he make one choice and she could choose the others. That sounded like a decent idea, since it was her engagement party, after all. She should be able to choose more. "All right," he agreed. If she didn't like his choice, he was sure she'd let him know, but all these cakes were great. She seemed delighted by her next taste of cake and Jace couldn't help but laugh. She exclaimed that this was her fiance's favorite flavor, deciding that would definitely be one of her choices.
Lydia added that she wanted a chocolate one and Jace shrugged, "I still like that first one ... salted caramel truffle I think?" Yeah, his first taste was definitely his favorite one. "If that's too similar to chocolate though I can choose something else." It was her wedding cake. Jace didn't want her to feel like she had to let Jace choose something.

"Oh no, no, it's perfect!" she giggled, reaching over to grab his arm with both hands to shake him a little. "Jace, one day when you get married promise me you're going to invite me to try out cakes! It's only fair," she giggled more. She tapped the tip of his nose with one of her fingers and leaned in a little. "My mum told me there's a potion that makes people feel relaxed and happy. Lots of people put them in their wedding cakes." she smirked a little devilishly. There were also options for making feel seem more... Generous, but she wasn't planning on telling Jace she'd be using those. What? She wanted people to give her enough starter galleons.

Lydia insisted that his choice was perfect, giggling as she did so, and Jace smiled in response. He liked making her laugh. He liked spending time with her. It was a shame she was engaged and marrying someone else, but he wouldn't say that. He didn't want to make her angry with him for anything. He laughed harder when she started talking about "when he got married." "Lydia, that's not going to happen for a loooooong while. You'll probably have forgotten all about me by then." He told her loftily with a sigh, looking up at the ceiling as though he was sad about it, while really he was glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. Then he smirked and looked down at her, "But yeah, I guess I can invite you anyway, if you remember me." She tapped his nose and he chuckled again, listening as she talked about a potion to make people feel happy. "Are you serious? Are you gonna do that?" he asked curiously. Jace never heard about something like that before.

Jace said he would invite her to his cake tasting if she hadn't forgotten about him by then. She gasped, placing a hand over her heart in surprise. "Jace, my darling," she reached her free hand that wasn't over her heart a ross to tap the tip of his nose and then clasp onto his chin, the way an aunt would while reprimanding a child. "I would never forget you. I do not forget people who like me,," she laughed. Releasing him.
He asked her if she was going to put the happy potion in her cupcakes, and she shrugged. "I haven't decided yet. I figure, why not? It's a wedding, and sometimes people get sad at weddings because they think about their own crappy wedding and I don't want anyone to feel sad at mine you know?"

Lydia was ... well, Jace actually couldn't place what exactly Lydia was, but she was fun. Easy to be around and talk to. Even when she took hold of his chin and "got after" him, it felt more like teasing than an actual reprimand or anything and he grinned. "Well, then I guess you'll be invited to my cake tasting then," he answered with a smirk. It was interesting to him that he didn't actually mind her doing things like that. It all just felt like part of the game.
He nodded slowly, "Yeah, that makes sense. And if no one's upset, they can't do something to upset the balance of the party." He hoped that what he was saying made sense, but really he was getting at the fact that sometimes people got upset at weddings and wanted everyone else to be miserable too. Jace didn't want that for Lydia's big day.

He said that she'd be invited to his cake tasting then, since she wouldn't forget him, and she grinned, squeezing his chin a little before she had let go. "Great! I will help you choose the best kinds. This is going to be wonderful. I'm sure it'll be a BIT longer before you get married," she giggled. He wasn't going to get betrothed or anything... right? "Have you thought about matchmaking, or would you rather wait? I know you're a huge flirt, so I'm sure you'd like to play the field a little," she giggled again.
He agreed that the happy potion in her cake made sense and she nodded, grinning. "See!? Though, a party isn't a party without a little drama, so maybe I'll only lace half the cupcakes in it, she laughed. The cake creator came over then, and Lydia told him their order. "But we'll try a few more, just in case," she assured them, but her tone was deadly serious. Basically, they would let her do whatever she wanted. They walked away again and Lydia picked up another cupcake.

Jace laughed at Lydia's enthusiasm when he accepted her offer. She was always so happy and fun. It was one of the things he really liked about her, though he knew it wouldn't go anywhere since she was engaged and very excited about that. "I expect you will make my wedding much more exciting than it would be if I were in charge of it," Jace answered with a smirk, "but I'm gonna say that you're going to have to wait quite a few years before I get to that point." It wasn't a bad thing, Jace just didn't see himself getting engaged or married soon after he graduated. He shrugged at her question, "I haven't really thought about it much at all. I think I want to explore the world a bit before I really start looking to get married, if that makes sense." Besides that, he did like flirting and having fun. Maybe he wouldn't want that to end so soon.
She suggested only lacing half of her cupcakes and Jace laughed, "Oh, so you want half of your guests to be deliriously happy and the other half to be jealous of them?" he teased with another chuckle. He quieted down when someone came over and Lydia started talking to them, a sly smile sneaking onto his face when she said they weren't done trying the cakes. "You could tell I needed some more?" he teased once the person walked away. Jace picked up another cupcake as well.
