Piper thought blind dates were fascinating. She adored the idea of being spontaneously paired up with prince charming. It had been a while since she had been on a date, but she wasn't worried about that. The blonde loved the idea of meeting new people and making new friends. She made friends easily and was particularly chatty with anyone who would listen. As well as those who didn't...
Tonight, the Puff put together an outfit that made her feel her most confident. It consisted of a velvet floral dress and heeled ankle boots with fringe. Her hair was pinned back in loose curls, and her lips painted a romantic hue of red, which complimented the bright smile that adorned her face.
The owl she received instructed her to meet her date at the benches outside the cinema. She arrived with a few minutes to spare. Piper took a seat on one of the benches, where she decided to people watch Muggles in line while she waited for her date to arrive. She loved to watch people live their rather simple lives. Her eyes scanned the cinema courtyard until they stopped on a large, glorious fountain. She stared at the water shooting out and cascading in a dream-like trance, quickly losing track of how long she had been thoroughly entertained by falling water.
There was no one else around the benches where she was sitting, which made it a proper meet up spot.

Hugo was definitely looking forward to this blind date. He'd never been on one before, but Sav told him about having fun on one during the summer. From what he said, it was a nice way to meet new people, which was something Hugo was definitely trying to do lately. He wanted to make new friends, and was particularly looking forward to doing it outside of Hogwarts. Maybe the girl wouldn't know that he was Head Boy. That would be nice. Sometimes he felt like people expected him to behave a specific way because of his "status" and he hated it. They didn't know a thing about him.
The good thing was that it was winter. Hugo wore a coat, gloves and hat to try and cover as much of his skin as he could. Most people didn't know that he was clairvoyant, that when he touched someone he saw the way they died. He'd much rather that not be the first thing he learned about his date tonight, even if it made him seem wimpy. He'd just wear gloves the entire time, that way he could shake her hand and whatnot.
He approached the cinema, nodding to himself when he saw a girl sitting on the benches outside. That's where he was supposed to meet his date anyway. He smiled as he approached the girl. She was cute and definitely looked familiar, even though he didn't quite know her name. She was a seventh year, wasn't she. "Hey, you here for a blind date?" he asked cheerfully as he reached her. "I'm Hugo Weasley," Hugo extended his gloved hands, once again proud of himself for wearing them.

Piper was suddenly snapped out of her day dream when she hear a low males voice approaching. She perked up, tucking a blonde tress behind her ear. “Ooh, hello! It’s so nice to meet you, Hugo Weasley.” She chimed after him with a cheerful smile, and chipper tone to match. She shook his hand up and down a few times before offering him a friendly squeeze, “My name is Piper Putnam. Most call me Pie.” she told him with a friendly tone, immediately taking a spot beside him. Piper found it easy to talk to strangers most of the time, but today Hugo wouldn’t be a stranger for much longer, hopefully.
Piper cocked her head to the side, giving the boy a good look over, quite comically, with a dorky chin scratch. She wasn’t even trying to hide the fact that she was basically checking him out, he was easy on the eyes, tall, with a very sweet smile. ”I feel like I have seen you around Hogwarts before Hugo, what house are you in?” She told him with a smile, blinking way too much as she connected the dots. Piper didn’t know that he was Head Boy, she didn’t really pay attention to that stuff.

She didn't specifically say that she was here for a blind date, but she said it was nice to meet him, taking his hand and shaking it. Hugo smiled at her, not altogether sure if she was serious or not when she said that people called her Pie. "Pie?" he said softly, a little surprised. She wanted to be called after an American dessert? He chuckled, "I think I'm gonna start with Piper if you don't mind." He was being so awkward, but Hugo didn't really know how to fix that. "Do you?" Wow, this was a great way to start off a blind date.
Piper started to look him over and Hugo laughed. "You want me to spin in a circle?" he teased, holding his arms out. If there was one thing this girl learned about him tonight it would probably be the fact that Hugo was a huge tease. He was surprised when she said that she thought she'd seen him at Hogwarts. Did she not know he was Head Boy? Hugo liked that fact. It made him feel much more free, like he didn't have to fit into that persona. "I'm pretty sure you look familiar to me too. I'm Gryffindor, what house are you in?" he asked. She was definitely pretty. Hugo wanted to make sure he could find her after this, just in case they hit things off.

Piper wasn’t the type of person to get nervous or awkward easily in social situations. The Puff wanted people to be comfortable. She felt like she was pretty good at turning those situations around by changing the subject, or pretending like she didn’t hear them...sometimes staring off into space until they walked away was the most effective. There have been times she was painfully oblivious to the awkwardness altogether. Hugo seemed a bit awkward. She noticed the awkward smile when he said her name out loud. She wanted to make him feel more comfortable. Piper smiled, ”Call me whatever you like, Hugo. ” She told him sweetly, batting her lashes at him.
When Hugo made a comment about her checking him out, offering a full spin, she sang to him dramatically, “OoOoh, Hugo, yes! That is absolutely lovely! You are marvelous!” she encouraged him to do a full spin, clapping her hands and bending over slightly at the knees as she erupted into a fit of giggles. Hugo was already bunches of fun! ”Okay, my turn now!” she did a slow dramatic spin, her dress flouncing as she did a little playful Irish jig with her feet at the end. Hugo mentioned that he was a Gryffindor and asked her what house she was in return, so she turned to him, ”Guess my house, Hugo!” she challenged him playfully, shooting a quizzical wide eyed expression his way.

Hugo couldn't help but grin, the awkwardness fading when she teased him, obviously flirting. "Are you sure you want to leave my options that open?" He teased, winking at her. It was strange, since he hadn't really been on a date since Xan, but he'd been flirting with other girls the semester and thought he was getting used to talking to them again. At least Piper seemed pretty laid back.
He didn't really think she'd want him to do a full spin; Hugo was mostly teasing her again, but when she started clapping enthusiastically, Hugo laughed and spun in a circle for her. What? It wasn't like there were many people outside watching them and if they were he didn't care. Hugo didn't know anyone around here, so it was fine. He chuckled when she spun for him. She was really very pretty and looked good in her dress. "You look amazing," he commented, laughing at her dance steps.
She told him to guess her house and Hugo looked at her a little more carefully. He knew house stereotypes weren't always correct, but she wasn't in his house and didn't seem like the clever, mischievous type or the type to spend most of their time reading, so he thought he had a pretty good guess. He tapped his chin, pretending to be totally serious. "I'd have to say ... Slytherin." He made it maybe half a second before laughing, "Naaw, I'm just kidding. Are you in Hufflepuff?" Hugo was pretty sure he was right, but wanted her to confirm it anyway.

When Hugo teased her by asking her if she really wanted to give him that much freedom with her name, she quirked an eyebrow in his direction as she contemplated that question. Her head cocked to the side, "Well, if you decide on anything ridiculous, it'll just open doors for what I can call you then. And trust me, you don't wanna go there.." she drawled in a playful tone, giggling and beaming at him.
Piper loved it when Hugo complimented her. The smile couldn't be hidden from her face. She loved when people noticed that she took an effort to get ready. "Glad you likie." She waggled her eyebrows, grabbing the hem of her dress as she curtsied slowly with a dreamy smile. "Picked it out just for you." The blond giggled with a wink. She loved to flirt and play, so far it seemed like Hugo was okay with it too. He already knew how to tease her, but was still being extremely sweet about it. Her face faltered when he said that she seemed like a Slytherin. She glared at him for a moment comically. When he changed his answer to Hufflepuff, she hopped up and down excitedly. Much happier with that answer. "Ooh, you got me for a second there, Hugo." she snorted with a laugh while she slapped her knee animatedly.
The blonde took a step to his side, looping her arm through his puffy jacketed arm and gripping it. "Shall we commence our date now, Mister Weasley?" she inquired happily, batting her eyelashes at Hugo.

She retorted, saying that she could call him what she wanted if he did that. "Touche," he replied with a nod, unable to keep himself from chuckling. This girl was definitely fun. It'd be interesting getting to know her better tonight. "Guess I'll have to be careful with what I call you then," Hugo added thoughtfully. It wasn't really hard. He'd probably call her Piper until he knew her well. If they got to that point, he'd probably come up with some kind of a nickname for her.
Piper's smile was really sweet and Hugo smiled in returned, laughing a little when she curtsies and said she picked it just for him. "I feel so honored," he teased back. She definitely didn't seem to be the shy, uncertain type, which would make this cool. He laughed outright at the look on her face when he called her a Slytherin. He was just teasing, but she gave him exactly the reaction he expected, which made it just a little bit funnier. Piper was obviously happier when he named her house as Hufflepuff, and he assumed that was the right one, even though she didn't come outright and say it was.
Hugo held his ground as she stepped closer, taking his arm and then he smiled and nodded. "Yes, let's. I'm interested to see what kind of movie Blishwick chose for us. You have any idea what it is?" he asked, looking down at her as he lead her to the building. He gave the host his name and the couple were led to a table, with a view of the screen.

Hugo asked the blond if she knew what movie was chosen for their date, she shrugged with a smile, "Nope, I don't usually watch movies or tele." Piper admitted, cocking her head to the side as they approached the movie queue. "Hopefully something with action...dark and cozy rooms make me sleepy." Piper shared in an easy going tone. She squeezed the boys arm, "But you can pinch me, or kiss me to keep me awake. Your choice..." she told him flirtatiously, batting her eyelashes playfully at him. Sadly, Piper didn't mean it as a joke. Sometimes she made things too easy for boys, which was one of her biggest faults. She didn't value herself like she should.
Her large, dooey, brown eyes stared vacantly at the board of rotating movie times in front of them. "Looks like we have the choice between an action thriller spy movie and RomCom Musical..." she announced thoughtful tone before turning to him with a playful tone, "You don't seem like the RomCom type." she chirped, giving him a playful look over.

She said she didn't know what the choices were, mentioning that she didn't normally watch movies. Hugo quirked his head to the side curiously. "You don't? What do you normally do with your time?" He didn't normally watch movies either, but he'd tell her that later. Right now, he was trying to learn about her and the best way to do that was by not talking about himself. He laughed when she said she hoped it was something with action. "Me too, about wanting something action-filled," Hugo answered. It wasn't so much that he'd fall asleep, but he did have a hard time focusing on movies that weren't interesting to him. He chuckled as she teased him about pinching or kissing her. He definitely wouldn't be kissing her tonight. He didn't want to have a vision while on a date with her. Still, she didn't know that. "I'll keep that in mind ... you might want to take care not to fall asleep," he teased, poking her in the side to keep it going just a little more.
Apparently she could read him like a book. Either that, or she was choosing the movie she wanted as well. She already mentioned that she liked action movies more. "Naaaaw, not unless my mum and sister tie me down," he joked. "Besides, maybe an action movie can help keep you awake. Shall we?" he asked, stepping forward to hold the door open for her so she could enter first.

When Hugo asked ‘you don’t?’ she immediately felt the need to give explanation for not watching or liking movies. As he cocked his head to the side, she mirrored the action, “Me nan used to say that ‘tele rots the brain, turns it to mush’! she’d say — same goes for microwaves.” she used an animated old Irish lady accent when she imitated her nan, waggling her finger in the air as she nodded firmly, seemingly believing the above information that she shared. Since he asked her what her interests were, she perked up ever so slightly, always loving a reason to talk about the list of things she so passionately loved. Piper beamed dreamily at Hugo, ”I spend a lot of my time creating.” she shared dramatically emphasizing the word ‘creating’. She erupted with a giggle. ”As in..Painting, sculpting, sewing, poetry. I like creating beauty out of something that was once considered nothing..” she shared, unable to hide the passion from her voice when she spoke about art.
The lion joked about his mum and sister tying him down to watch the sappy movies. ”Hopefully you never had to sit through The Notebook.” she giggled with a hopeful look. As Hugo opened the door for her, she couldn’t hide the impressed grin from melting across her painted lips. ”Ooh, such a proper gentleman. Thank you.” she cooed with a dainty curtsy before stepping into the cinema, her skirt flouncing behind her. They promptly grabbed their tickets for the action movie at the ticket counter and were off to the designated theatre. Piper kept her arm looped through Hugo’s, she smiled. ”What do you like to do, Hugo? What is your passion?” she clapped over her heart as she asked him sweetly, genuinely curious to learn more about her date now since she shared a bit about herself.

Hugo nodded when Piper started explaining about her nan and the woman's feelings about television, and microwaves. He laughed near the end of her explanation. "I haven't gotten to watch lots, but my grandparents are muggles, so I definitely know how to work a tele and I've seen a few movies. I do know how to work a microwave, though." That's what happened when one spent a good deal of their summer with their grandparents, who didn't have any magic. He enjoyed his time with them still.
She started to explain that she liked to create things, her enthusiasm bubbling out as she spoke and Hugo watched her curiously. She was so energetic and cheerful, it was definitely nice to be around her. How come he hadn't really ever noticed her before? Then again, that wasn't a big surprise. Much of his focus in years past had been on Xan. His mood dropped slightly as he thought of her, but he pulled himself back to what Piper was saying. "That sounds really cool. Is there a specific kind of creating that you prefer? Like, if you could create whatever you wanted, what would you start with?" There. That would tell him more about her, though he was learning a good deal about her already.
He thought for a moment when she said she hoped he didn't have to sit through a specific movie. "I don't think I've heard of that one before ... so maybe if they bring it up I'll look for a reason to get out of it," he chuckled. She seemed surprised when he opened the door for him, thanking him and curtsying. Hugo smirked and nodded. Had she not really been on dates before this point? He couldn't help but wonder. They got their tickets, walking into the theater. He shrugged when she asked about his passion, finding his seat and sitting down before answering her. They still had a few minutes before the show started, which meant they could talk while they waited. "I ... like pulling pranks and finding ways to make people laugh," he answered, much more honestly than he expected to. Most of the time he kept his pranks to himself, Sav and Adrian. He wasn't used to telling other people about them. Still, she seemed to want to know.

Piper laughed heartily when Hugo shared that he knew how to use a microwave. "No personal disdain against the appliances. Me Pa is a Muggle so he loves his tele and microwave. The radioactive duo." she snorted, enjoying the easy conversation. It seemed like Hugo wasn't the judgemental type so she didn't have to be afraid of hiding blood purity, and if he was, at least she'd find out now and they could briefly end the date if they needed to. She knew that wouldn't happen though. She had a good feeling about the boy, he was very genuine and had a charming smile.
When Hugo asked Piper her preferred method of creating, she cocked her head to the side with a smile. Now that was something she'd have to think about. There were so many things she loved to do to express herself. She bit down on her lip before opening her mouth ro answer, "I like painting. At school mostly canvas, but I enjoy painting abstract wall murals with many colors, lines, and layers. Like graffiti art, but not really graffiti." she mused, holding the tip of her chin thoughtfully as she thought out loud about it. She breathed before speaking again, "Orrr making clothing pieces!" the blonde nodded her head firmly, locking in her answer. She turned to him with a happy smile. "I am the art club Captain if you'd ever like to try and get your hands dirty." The Puff offered in a slightly challenging tone, but it was meant to be more friendly or flirty than anything.
As the pair got themselves situated in their seats, she listened to Hugo as he explained what he liked to do. She liked his answer. He seemed like a sincere person. "That's excellent!" she smiled, suddenly struck with curiosity. "What kind of pranks do you like to pull? Do they ever get you into trouble?" she asked him with a giggle, her dooey brown eyes flickering with interest. The blonde wanted to hear about his shenanigans.

She started to explain about her dad being a muggle and using his appliances and Hugo smiled and nodded. He liked how it was easy to talk with her, and how she wasn't afraid to admit that her dad was a muggle. Of course, Hugo didn't care. He never cared about people's "blood purity". He'd much rather hang out with people he could have fun with. That was what was more important. Besides, most people that did care about that sort of thing considered him and his family blood traitors so he couldn't do things with them most of the time. "Sounds like fun," he quipped easily.
Hugo nodded, listening intently as she started explaining how much she liked painting. Honestly, painting still made him think of Xan a bit, but it wasn't a bad thing that Piper liked it too. Maybe Hugo just had a type ... huh. Probably not something he should be thinking of right now though. He tried to focus on the girl in front of him, laughing when she changed directions, talking about making clothing. "Clothing pieces? You don't like making clothes, just the pieces?" Hugo asked, just a little confused. He laughed when she declared herself the art captain. "I'm always down for getting my hands dirty. You'll just have to let me know if you guys are having a fun activity," he answered. He used to do artistic things with Xan sometimes, so it wasn't an entirely foreign concept.
Piper seemed very interested in his pranks. Who wouldn't be? He chuckled, "I don't know if I can tell you that ... you see, as of yet I've never been caught and I hardly know you. How do I know you won't go off and tell someone that can get me into trouble? Besides, I'm supposed to set a good example for everyone, so my mum'd be mad if I broke my record." Sure, Hugo was certain that the teachers often suspected him for his pranks, but they hadn't caught him yet. He was mostly teasing Piper though, curious to see what she'd think of that.

It didn't seem that Hugo knew what she meant when she mentioned making her own clothes. His question caused her to quirk a brow, before snorting and waving a hand, "Oh no, silly. Like dresses, skirts, shirts, and stuff. I like to make clothing." she smiled widely with a giggle, hoping she gave enough detail this time. Piper really just enjoyed being creative.
Now she was curious... Hugo was being so mysterious about his recreational activities, it had piqued her interest. The blondes face flickered with excitement, her dooey brown eyes widening with a slow spreading naughty smile. Piper loved gossip. What she loved even more? Secrets!
"What if I told you something sketchy that I do that you could use against me?" The Puff proposed, nudging him in the side with her boney elbow. The movie hadn't started yet, she was quite enjoying their conversation. It was a shame they'd have to be quiet for the movie for the next two hours once it started.
