Occlumency: ”You useless, useless girl! If you can’t learn this, than you have no place in this family!” shrieked the elder woman in Chinese. Before her cowered a child, couldn’t be more than eleven years old. Still very much a child, in all aspects. ”Do you know what our family is known for? Do you know what we’ve accomplished?!”
The girl finally looked up. She might have been cowering before her grandmother, but her eyes held no fear. ”I know.” was her quiet answer, barely above a whisper.
”Do you? DO YOU?! Legilimens!” cried Ambrosia’s grandmother once more, wand waved as she ripped her way into Ambrosia’s young mind. Again. And again. And again.
Years later and far frailer, Ambrosia’s grandmother tried again. ”legilimens!” Despite the slight shaking in her hands her grip was steady on her wand, pointed at her only grandchild. Only this time, this time nothing happened.
Ambrosia stood tall, her dark gaze cold as she gaze down at her grandmother. ”Not anymore.” Her voice, though still a whisper, was strong, assertive. ”I’m the next head of the Hong family, and no one will ever enter my mind again.”

Legilimency: Ambrosia, a young woman now, sat alone behind the reception desk of a doctor’s office. Several medical books depicting the brain open in front of her. The office was quiet today except for a few laughs from the employee lounge, nurses and assistants enjoying the small break.
One of the doctors, young, handsome, and known for his womanizer ways, approached Ambrosia from behind, leaning over her shoulder to see what she was reading. ”That’s some pretty advanced stuff there. Why don’t I help you.” He didn’t wait for her answer, taking the seat next to her and pulling the book towards him. Ambrosia immediately looked up and over at him, reaching out to stop him from taking the book.
”No, no, it’s fine. I understand.” She answered, her thick accent quite the contrast to his American. He just smiled and kept pulling the book towards him, yanking it from her grasp.
”Really, let me do it. It’s so complicated. I know English is hard enough for you, this is way too advanced for you on your own.”
”Legilimens.” Ambrosia’s wand came out from her sleeve and pointed right at his temple. He didn’t stand a chance again her sudden penetration of his mind. ”I know more about the human mind than you can ever hope.” she whispered as she began to navigate the man’s mind, delving into his deepest secrets, ripping apart his guards and penetrating his memories. Finally Ambrosia broke the spell, and he slumped. ”Such a sad, sad little man you are. Nothing but an insect, ready to be swat. Talk to me again, and I’ll tear your mind apart. You won’t even know your own name.” Taking her book back she snapped it shut, stood up, and quietly left the doctor’s office. And no one remembered who ‘Ambrosia Hong’ even was in that office after that day.
