Gabriel had been cast in a small independent production on the muggle side of things and today was the third day of rehearsal. They had already done a read through and a blocking rehearsal for the first scene yesterday and today was the big love scene between him and - hilariously - Lucy Weasley. The characters apparently did a whole lot more than make out but thankfully the script didn't take it THAT far. It wasn't that graphic of a play. Sure, the CHARACTERS were intimate but the stage lights would go out before anything crazy had to be done acting wise.
He wasn't really nervous about it, he'd done romantic scenes before. Maybe not to this level but it wasn't a big deal. He got to rehearsal a few minute early, and got comfortable sitting on the bed on stage with the script in his hands, going over the scene while he waited for Lucy and everyone else.

Lucy always arrived 10 minutes early to call. That was it. 10 minutes. That was early enough that she maintained her professional status, but not so early that she was deemed eager. Lucy wasn’t eager, she was never eager, per say, but she was professional, and she needed to keep that professional status if she wanted to continue getting work. If she wanted to keep up the front of her being an actress and only an actress, and making her living off of such, then she needed to continue getting work, and that meant that she needed to be professional.
She walked into the rehearsal space and set her bag down on a chair as she sat down and changed from her own shoes into her rehearsal shoes. Most of her company was already there and her co-star, a boy she knew for years, was there and seemed to be going over the script, possibly, their scene for today. Lucy was far from uncomfortable with the sensitive nature of this script. She had done a lot worse for a paycheck than pretend to be intimate with a boy she knew from school. At least he was attractive, and someone she didn’t hate to be seen with. It was a nice break from working with muggles. “And how are you, today, Gabriel? Ready for the scene?” she teased, flashing him a smirk while she clasped the buckle on her character shoes.

Gabriel looked up when he heard her voice smiling at her with a nod, "well enough. Ready enough. I think," her smirk making him lean away a little. Not that it was bad or anything, it just reminded him of how this was all going to go. His family was probably going to come to this play and here he would be snogging with Lucy Weasley - who was not an unknown name in the wizarding community. Okay, maybe that was a little intimidating.
He leaned forward again, this time dropping his script onto the bed in front of him. He lifted a hand to run his fingers through his hair, "I brushed my teeth a few times so that'll be nice," he joked. "And my abs are always like this so," he literally lifted his shirt to reveal said six pack of abs and then lowered it down. "No problems here. Are YOU ready?"

Once her shoes were on, she fished her script out of her bag and walked up onto the stage to join him. He admitted that he was ready enough and she gave a little bit of a giggle. She loved how awkward people were with scenes like this. Lucy rarely took more notice of an intimate scene than she did any other scene. They were actors getting paid (thankfully) to act a part, the least they could do was act the part well. “You think? Is Gabriel Ollivander nervous?” she asked, flashing him her large, bright, teasing eyes, as she turned to the scene in her own script. He told her that he brushed his teeth a few extra times and then flashed her his abs, saying that they always stayed that way. She laughed when he did so, not in a mocking way, but just enjoying their banter. “It’s good to know that your body doesn’t magically morph overnight.” she replied. They were, after all surrounded by muggles, so any reference to magic was simple in jest. “Yes, I’m pretty sure I’m ready. I’m sure it comes as a large surprise, but you’re not the first man I’ve kissed, nor the first I’ve snogged on stage. I think I’ve got the hang of it.” Lucy wasn’t exactly the picture of a modest woman. In fact, she couldn’t count the number of men she had snogged even if she tried.

She came up to join him and he sat up a little straighter, dropping his script on the set bed in front of him. She questioned his answer, though, asking if he was nervous. He scoffed, shaking his head. "N-no. Of course not," he answered, "that was convincing, right? ACTING!" he raised a hand in the air dramatically.
She laughed when he lifted his shirt, but he hoped that didn't mean she was laughing AT the sight. He was very in shape, he made sure of it. She said it was good to know he didn't 'magically' morph overnight, and he shrugged, "what a spell that would be," he suggested. Even though they were in muggle territory no one would take that seriously.
She said she was ready, and that he wasn't the first man she'd kissed or snogged on stage. She had the 'hang of it'. He nodded slowly, "I... have not done it before," he admitted - though he quickly added, "on stage. Off stage yes," he explained.

Lucy Weasley laughed at his immediate response to her teasing. Whether he was being honest about being nervous or not wasn’t what was important. If he was nervous, he’d get over it in a day or two, once they had blocked and gone over the scene and knew what was happening. “Super convincing.” she teased by giving him a thumbs up. She shrugged at his next question. “I don’t know, I only got an Acceptable on my charms O.W.L.” she rolled her eyes. The only body modification spell she could think of at the moment was Engorgio, but she didn’t want to hit him with the inappropriate image right before he would be asked to focus and perform, especially if he was already nervous. Lucy turned away and paced the stage a bit for a moment, stretching out her neck and her back as she did so, feeling a little tense in her shoulders and not wanting to carry that into the scene. But when he admitted that he hadn’t kissed anyone before, she turned back to him. “Never?” she questioned. How was that possible? He was cute enough.

She said he was super convincing, giving him a thumbs up and he half bowed again. They she said she only got an 'Acceptable' on her Charms test and he chuckled, "eh, as an actor you only need one kind of charm, amiright?" he questioned, teasing again too. She paced a little as he spoke, but then she turned back to him and questioned that he hadn't kissed anyone on stage. He shrugged, "you'd think I'd be cast as the ingenue love interest more often but I'm type casted as the joke," he chuckled, "trying to break into the hero role, though - so we better do this well," he added.
The director, stage manager and others had filled in by that point and the SM called up to them, "okay guys, we're going to go from the top once with lines and then we'll get to blocking."

Lucy Weasley still couldn’t believe when he confirmed that he had never kissed anyone, how could he had gone through school without having got caught up in some game of spin the bottle or something along those lines, they seemed to be happening every weekend or so. But maybe he just hadn’t wanted to kiss anyone at the time. Maybe he was trying to wait to find the right girl, or boy, or person. Lucy didn’t know, nor did she really care, but she felt a weird need to be charitable, so she walked up to the young man, her co star, held his cheek and gave him a light peck on the lips. “Your first kiss can’t be a stage kiss.” she told him, rolling her eyes before she turned her attention to the Stage manager.
The SM explained to them what was going to happen now and Lucy nodded, they’d go through the lines and then start to block the scene, she tucked her pencil behind her ear and opened her script to the appropriate scene. They ran through the lines, not moving as they did so, at least not moving in character, Lucy paced a tiny bit along the stage, she always had a hard time staying still once she was warmed up, she didn’t want her body to release back into her casual mode.

Suddenly she was walking up to him and he held his ground, a little dumbfounded at the look on her face. She kissed him, saying his first kiss couldn't be a stage kiss, and his eyes widened a little. He thought to correct her, but decided against it. Even though she rolled her eyes at him. She was... something, Lucy Weasley. He wasn't surprised she was an actress. They needed confidence like that.
He listened to the instructions and he opened his script. He held still while reading, as he often did. He wasn't much of a pacer when it came to preparing. He liked to hold all his energy in, like a water dam, and then let it all out when the time came.
And the time came. The director started to block them and soon they were sitting on the edge of the bed, leading up to their kissing moment. The director took Gabriels hands and placed them on Lucy's shoulders, "so, he's a bit nervous at first, right? But the kiss can't be nervous at all. The confidence comes then. Give it a try," he directed.
Gabriel nodded, turning to Lucy, he said the line prior to the kiss, "don't... don't go," he said, then he clasped her shoulders tightly and pulled her toward him, meeting her halfway, and kissed her.

With no idea that she had just made a fool out of herself more than she was helpful, Lucy listened as they were given instructions for the scene and before too long they were blocking the scene. Lucy wrote down her movements in her own, still developing, form of shorthand. Everything slowed down when they were sat on the edge of the bed towards the end of the scene and Gabe’s hands fell upon her shoulders, put there by their director, who was standing on stage with them for this walk through. After a little more information, the director took a step back and told them to run it from there. Gabe said is line as Lucy started to get up from the bed, but then he kissed her and she stopped.
The rest of the rehearsal ran fairly smoothly and after the stage manager had released them all and yelled about the call time for the next rehearsal, reminding them to check their emails daily, Lucy made her way back to get bag and unclasped her character shoes, letting the heels fall onto the floor. “I think we made good progress here.” she said to Gabe, half teasing as she sat down in a chair in the audience.

Things went well and, as it was every time, Gabriel was a little sad that rehearsal had ended. The scene had led them into quite a bit more kissing and their characters had a rather deep relationship. He always loved playing people how had such intricate stories. His life was fairly plain, or so he thought, and he was happy to let the fake people have all the drama. Though... a little drama in his life wouldn't be the worst thing.
She said they made good progress and he laughed, taking a spot in the seat next to her. There was something insanely relaxing about sitting in a theater chair, watching the lights his the stage. They were just work lights right now, but still. he turned to look at her, "you're insanely talented. Like, I can't believe I never knew," he complimented, shaking his head. "Where do you pull from?"

Gabe complimented her talent and then asked where she pulled from. Lucy tried to stifle her laugh and it came out as just forced amount of air being breathed through her nose with the tiniest little nose coming from her throat. That was such an actor thing to ask. Lucy and Gabe went to school together, and something they were taught in their acting courses was to draw from their real experiences, Lucy shrugged. “Life I guess.” she had been pretending for her entire life, well, as long as she could remember. Since she had started school at least. She had kept who she really was quiet and had kept her views, more recently, quiet from her family, instead choosing to act like the perfect little Weasley girl. It was better acting experience than they were getting at that dumb conservatory. “Where do you pull from?” she tightened the laces on her shoes.

She breathed weird and he wasn't entirely sure if she was alright, or if she was trying to laugh? Either way, he didn't press it. She said she drew from life, and he nodded. She must have had a lot more interesting of a life than he had. "I kind of have to really go through the characters journey from beginning to end and try to be them... make their memories my memories. I pull from other fictional characters too. My life, admittedly, has been pretty dull," he chuckled. He honestly wished that he had a little more interesting things to pull from, even an actual girlfriend to find a feeling for, but he didn't have that or anything else that interesting. Other than the situation with his siblings being super tense, he had nothing that exciting.

Lucy listened as Gabe explained his acting process. She had to assume that most actors went through a process similarly to him. However, Lucy didn’t usually care about getting into character like that. She didn’t need to know the characters backstory, for the most part at least. She just needed to know the now. She needed to know what to channel to get her to the now. She was a good liar. She was good at faking it. Acting was just lying for money and the entertainment of others. “maybe we need to get you some experiences to drawn from, then.” she smirked, wiggling her eyebrows a little.

She suggested that he needed experiences to draw from and he laughed, shaking his head. "Nah, I think that I'll just keep doing it the way I'm doing it," he laughed. "Though, my older sister did promise to introduce me to some of her cute friends, so who knows," he added. He actually rather liked dating, though it wasn't so hard to pretend to be romantic with someone. That was an easy emotion to access. It was real pain and heartbreak that was harder for him to fathom. He hadn't dealt with much of that... and the parts he did deal with he didn't want to bring out.
