Jess stepped off the train, looking around herself with interest. She'd never been to Dublin. Apart from attending school at Hogwarts and visiting Hogsmeade, she hadn't really ever left London either. It was an exciting experience to be going somewhere new, and an even better one to be going with Fin. She was excited for this week they were going to spend together. By some miracle, she'd been able to get work off for the week between Christmas and New Year's and he had too, so they were going to be to themselves for two whole weeks! It almost seemed too good to be true.
She glanced back to Fin, smiling and reaching over to take his hand. "So ... we're here. What do you want to do first?" This was his place, she was perfectly content to see anything and everything that Fin wanted to show her, and since they had a week there was also no rush. It was perfect.

Fin was glad they decided to take the train instead of a car or portkey or anything. The train ride had some of the best views. Once they stepped off, she asked what he wanted to do first and he looked forward, toward the line of taxi's waiting for guests, "first, we get my car," he suggested. Yeah, he had one of those parked at a friends house. "We can walk it," he suggested, straightening his backpack and taking his bag and her bag in each hand. He nodded toward the exit of the station and started to lead the way. "We've got castle, rolling hills, but not as many bridges as France," he challenged.

Jess listened, nodding when he suggested they got his car. "I didn't know you had a car," she told him in a light tone and following him easily. She was ready to walk. Granted, during the train ride she saw so many beautiful views, but her legs were ready to get stretched out and move a bit. He was carrying their bags, so Jess walked beside him, half a step slower since she wasn't really sure where she was going. She laughed when he mentioned that there weren't as many bridges here as there were in France. "Well I've never been to France, so I don't have much to compare it to. I can't wait to see it all!" Honestly, the idea of spending an entire week with Fin made her so happy she was sure that whatever he showed her would quickly become her favorite. She looked from side to side as they walked, trying to take everything in. It was so beautiful here!

She said she didn't know he had a car and he shrugged, "yeah, I don't take it to England though. A friend and I share it," he explained. "It's at his house now. We'll take it with his around this week - I already told him," he explained. "You can meet him later, he's great. You'll like him."
They were walking, which Fin enjoyed and he knew Jess liked that too. She said she'd never been to France, and that she couldn't wait to see all of Ireland. "You've never visited? I would think you'd want to see the place of your ancestors,"he joked. "Just make sure you keep an eye ahead too so that you don't fall or run into people," he chuckled. The most exciting sights would come later, once they drove into the hills.
He turned a corner, "so we can stay with my friend tonight if you want, but then we'll go explore a little further and stay at a bed and breakfast or something," he suggested.

Jess nodded as Fin explained his car situation. It made sense, especially since it wasn't just his, that it was here. She was kind of excited to see it though. "That sounds great. I'm excited to meet your friend and see your car," she teased lightly, leaning closely and nudging him a little. If she could she'd take his hand, but he was busy carrying their things so she wouldn't make that harder on him.
She laughed as he teased her. "I've never really had the chance. Maybe we could go see it together ... have you ever been to France?" It sounded like he had, but she was still curious. She laughed as his teasing. "Don't jinx me, you know how clumsy I can be. I might fall or run into people even if I'm watching where I'm going." Her toe caught on something and she ran forward a few steps until she caught her balance, then turned to shoot Fin a fake glare. "Told you you'd jinx me."
He turned and Jess followed him. Obviously, she didn't know where they were going. "That all sounds great. Meeting your friend, and especially the exploring part." Really, Jess just wanted to be with Fin. They didn't normally get tons of time together, since they were both so busy. She was crazy excited about this trip with him.

She nudged him as she spoke of her excitement at the days plans. Granted, she was probably excited about all their plans. He was too, not that he overly showed it. But the idea of her seeing all the places he loves was like sharing a part of himself, and that meant a lot to him.
She asked if he'd been to France, suggesting that they go together. He nodded, "that's a great idea. I have been before but only for business and I didn't see that much," he admitted. And of course she scolded him for possibly jinxing her on the subject of tripping, and then tripped. That wasn't a big surprise, but he still gasped a little and then laughed. "Sorry, I'm sorry completely my fault."
She agreed to his plans, and was especially excited for the exploring party. He grinned, "Ireland is one of the most beautiful places in the world, anyone will tell you, not just the Irish."
As they turned a corner, a cute little house was nestled between some larger buildings. He nodded toward it, and the Red Charger in the driveway.
"Here it is."

Fin liked the idea of going to France with her! Jess couldn’t keep herself from grinning when he agreed to her idea. She was expecting to have a blast here with Fin, but it could be even more fun exploring a place they didn’t know together. Really, anything would be exciting as long as she was with him. “We’ll have to see if we can figure out a time to do it,” she suggested with a shrug. She didn’t want Fin to feel like he had to, but he seemed to like the idea and even though they were just starting on this trip together, she liked the idea of having another one planned, even if it was just a little.
She made a face at him when he laughed at her tripping and then took the blame for it. “Yes it is,” she agreed, faking a glare at him for a second before smiling and chuckling a little.
He explained how everyone knew that Ireland was one of the most beautiful places in the world. “Well I’m excited to be able to tell other people that I’ve been there then,” she teased.
Then he was gesturing to a little house with a red car in the drive. Her eyes widened, “There?” Jess asked, a smile growing quickly on her face. “It’s so cute! I love it!” She started walking just a little more quickly before turning to Fin. “You want me to help with any of that?” she asked. If his hands were so full, how were they going to get in, or what was the plan? “Are we dropping our things off and then exploring a little or what do you want to do?” Jess was ready for anything now, so long as Fin was beside her.

"Time is not an issue," he suggested. Really, it was hard to get away from work and Elaine and all the crazy duties he had in his life in order to do this, but he didn't want her to think that she was any kind of burden in any way. Maybe he was overdoing it a little with the comment, but that's just how he was with Jess. He said what he wanted to say... usually with a little extra flair.
She agreed that the trip was his fault and he couldn't help but chuckle a little more along with her and that fake glare. She said she was excited to tell people that she had been to Ireland and he grinned, "as you should be. It's an adventure all should take," he commented.
She looked at the house and the car and he smirked, shaking his head a little - due to an abundance of affection - at her excited walk toward the car. She asked if he wanted help and he shook his head, "why would you ask at the last second?" he teased, of course she had offered before. He nodded his head toward the car and the trunk opened, thanks to some wandless, wordless magic. He placed their stuff inside and then closed it. "Ben will bring it in for us, he'd insist. Come on, we're going to say hi," he moved toward the house and knocked on the door.
And incredibly old man answered, hunched over from his age and a wide grin spread on his face "Finley Jameson! You haven't been in too long," Fin shook his his head, he was just there three months ago. "Agreed. Any amount of time is too long. Benjamin, this is Jess," he took a step to the side to reveal Jess, placing a hand at the small of her back.

Fin insisted that timing wasn’t an issue and Jess smiled up at him, though she rolled her eyes. “Maybe not for you, but I’ve got to get time off work if we’re going to go on lots of trips together.” She didn’t mind in the slightest. Spending time with Fin was worth any and all time off. Really, she just liked being able to spend her time with him. Any time she could get.
“Yes, but not everyone can have such an amazing guide,” she told Fin without hesitation. Coming to Ireland with anyone else wouldn’t be half as enjoyable. At least, not for her. The idea of seeing this place with him made her excited.
Fin teased her and Jess stuck her tongue out at him playfully. “I offered ages ago, but you insisted on doing it all your own,” she reminded him, sure he already knew that. He was just a tease with her, which was a side of him she knew he didn’t share with most people. He put the bags in the trunk, telling her Ben would take care of it. “Ben?” She asked. Had he already mentioned a “Ben”? Honestly, she couldn’t remember. He’d told her so much about this trip that it was impossible for her to remember it all. She’d given up a while ago.
They went to the door together and then an old man was greeting Fin warmly. Jess smiled, content to watch the interaction, but then Fin was introducing her, leading her forward with his hand on her back. Jess smiled at the elderly man. “It’s nice to meet you, Benjamin,” she greeted cheerfully, offering her hand. His smile grew as he looked over to Fin, “Well now at least I understand why you’re too busy for little old me.” Then he looked back to Jess, taking her hand. “It’s nice to meet you too. Glad Fin’s finally brought someone to meet me.” He lifted her hand and kissed it and Jess glanced over at Fin with a smile. Now what?

She said time wasn't an issue for him but she had to get time off work and he shrugged, "so do I, but they'll get over it," he argued. She also mentioned that not everyone could have such an amazing guide for Ireland when he spoke of the adventures of being there. He felt his cheeks heat up a little at that. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered. He still couldn't believe they were together and that she thought HE was amazing. Weird. She questioned his Soon they were at the door, and Jess smiled at Ben and greeted him. Ben mentioned how he understood why Fin was too busy for him and Fin chuckled, shaking his head. "That, and I have a job Ben. Someone has to pay the rent when their old friends won't fund their lifestyle," he teased. After Ben kissed Jess's hand he took a step back, "please, please come in. Leave the bags there Finley I'll put them in a room for you two," he paused. "One room or two, eh?" he wiggled his eyebrows and Fin froze, eyes wide. He turned to Jess. @jessavette )making you decide (

Jess chuckled when Fin answered by saying that they'd get over him asking for so much time off. "Well if you don't mind, I definitely don't," she answered with a grin. She liked the fact that he wanted to take lots of time off to be with her, to travel together. They'd just barely arrived in Dublin, but Jess could already sense how much fun they were going to have here. It would be nice to do things and not have to worry about running into people. Not that she minded running into people, but privacy would be nice.
Jess watched Fin and Ben interact with interest. It was nice to see that Fin could tease and joke around with someone that wasn't her. She always got the impression that he was more serious around other people. It was a fun side to see. She stepped into the place when Ben invited them in, looking around herself curiously, until the old man asked if they wanted one room or two. Her eyes shot instantly to Fin, who was staring at her in return. Jess' face grew hot and she spluttered, "S-s-sure." Ben laughed, "I think I'll take that as one room," he said with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Don't worry, I'll get it all ready for ya. You two can do whatever you want now. Go on a walk or relax here inside." He started shuffling away and Jess turned her attention back to Fin. "I didn't know what to say!" she whispered at him, her blush deepening as she spoke.

"S-sure," she answered. Fin wasn't sure what that meant, which answer, but Ben took it as one. Fin couldn't open his mouth. Been shuffled away and Fin and Jess were left there. She exclaimed that she didn't know what to say and he blinked, coming back to life. "No, no it's cool. I like it. It'll be fun," his eyes widened again and he cleared his throat. "Tour of the house?" he suggested, shuffling past her quickly to go deeper in. Then his eyes widened as he had a realization and he poked his head up the stairs, "Ben! Don't you dare give us your room!" Been grumbled, shuffling across the hallway to the guest room instead. Fin shook his head and turned back to Jess, "he's too good to me. Practically raised me when I wasn't at school. Not a wizard, but he knows some," he explained.

Jess felt mortified by how Ben interpreted her answer, but even more nervous that Fin wouldn't be happy about it. He insisted that he liked it, that it would be fun and Jess gave a nervous chuckle, noticing that maybe he was as nervous as she was. That was interesting. She nodded when he asked if she wanted a tour. "Yeah, show me around please," she answered, trying to bring back a more confident vibe. She didn't want this to be awkward, she wanted to have fun with Fin. Her jaw dropped when Fin shouted at Ben that he'd better not give them his room. He would do that? She smiled as Fin looked back to her. "He seems like a really nice man." At least Fin had someone here who was there for him when he was younger, since she knew his mother wasn't. Jess didn't know anything about Fin's father, and she didn't want to ask.

Jess agreed to the tour, adding that Ben was a nice man. "He's my best 🐻 friend, don't laugh," he chuckled. "Age is just a number, especially when it comes to friendship, you know?" he explained. He beckoned her forward, leading her toward the back to where the kitchen was. "The sitting room is through that door there," he opened the door to show it. It was incredibly small, a little messy, with a tiny tv set. "He refuses to upgrade," he shook his head. sarah jane oliveira

Jess grinned when Fin told her that Ben was his best friend. "Me? Laugh at you?" she teased, starting to feel more comfortable again. She nodded to the comment about age just being a number. That was true. She'd made several friends with her job at the daily prophet who were quite a bit older than her. She followed Fin to the back, smiling as she walked through the little house. It wasn't decorated, per se, but it still had that well-lived-in, cute feel to it. Though she likely wouldn't tell Fin or Ben that she thought it was cute. She didn't want to offend them. She chuckled as she looked into the sitting room. "I like it. A more classic kind of TV," Jess commented. "It's very ... comfortable here," she added, nodding her approval to Fin. She liked it.
