Seasons Greetings, my dear friend! I hope you, Ed, and the rest of your family are having a joyous holiday together!
I guess it's kind of silly to wish you a Merry Christmas since it has past, but I also wanted to write you to make sure everything was okay after the dragon attack that happened in Hogsmeade over the weekend. It looks like a lot of people got hurt and are shook up up after the incident. The Daily Prophet mentioned that they got the damages sorted within 24 hours and everything is up and running again, so that's good, but I don't think I'd really want to go there for a while after that.
It's crazy how we got paired up for the Blishwick blind date thing! I had a great time with you at our 'friend date'. Such a small world we live in, haha. Anyways, how has your break been? Have you read any good books lately? I hope everything is going excellent for you!

It’s good to hear from you, I hope you had fun when you came over, even if it was a little weird. It’s always weird bringing friends to the castle. Sorry about that!
The attack was crazy. Ed and I were there on the day and it was terrifying. Thankfully we both came out alright, but yeah, I get it, I might be scared from Hogsmeade for a while…
The date was a great time, but the ice cream was probably the best part, let’s be real. The rest of the holiday has gone by pretty slowly. I haven’t left the castle since the attack, but my Italian tutor says I’m getting really good! Maybe I can fool some Italians this summer!

Hey! No need for any sorries, it wasn't weird at all! Family functions tend to have their awkward moments, I totally get it... My family is crazy. Thanks again for having me though! It was a great time.
You're absolutely right about the ice cream. If you wanna get away from the castle again someday we should get together again.
Am I a morbid nerd for already missing school? This time of the year is so strange. However, I will admit it's nice being able to wake up later and read whatever strikes a fancy, but my family gets kind of annoying.
That's no surprise there! You'll be speaking like a native in no time. Can't wait to hear your progress, you gotta teach me some new stuff.

If you’re a nerd for missing school than so I am. I would much rather be in class than just sitting around the castle here all day. Though I guess I am still kind of in classes now with my Italian tutor. It’s not the same though. I can’t even take my wand out of the trunk most days. It’s a little suffocating to be watched by so many muggles all of the time.
Have you done anything else fun this break?
