Anna didn’t notice Sav shaking his head. She was too lost in her thoughts and memories of Oscar. He wouldn’t have left her. Not of his own will. She was positive of that. She paused for a second, looking up at Sav when he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. She’d almost forgotten she was talking to someone about this and not just herself. Anna stepped a little closer to him, appreciating the contact and support. Then he was apologizing. Really? Sav was apologizing? She figured it was more the sympathetic apology, but she shook her head softly. ”You don’t have to apologize,” Anna whispered. ”But no. Not that I found. I’m sure Lucy would have told me if she found something. I ... kind of lost it when I found his ring,” Anna admitted. ”Lucy brought me home. I don’t remember anything.” Anna blushed, embarrassed by her weakness. Surely Sav would think she was an idiot now, even if he was nice enough to let her talk about it. @sav

Anna explained the rest of the situation, ending with the fact that Lucy, her twin sister who Sav only knew through Anna, had brought her home and that Anna herself didn’t remember anything. “That sounds really hard and I hate that you had to go through that.” he told her. He knew there probably wasn’t anything he could do to help or make her feel better, but he was glad that she was telling him. Obviously she needed to talk to someone about it. “But you’re out and about now, attending high society parties and talking to old friends…” hopefully she was starting to be herself again.

Looking at Sav, Anna could finally believe that he didn’t think she was ridiculous, that he really was sympathizing with her. She appreciated that he was such a good listener. She nodded when he said that he hated she had to go through that. ”Me too,” Anna said, smiling a little as she reached up to wipe the tears off her cheek. ”Thanks for listening. You ... didn’t have to, but I really appreciate that you did.” She gave a small laugh when he said that she was out and about now. ”I’m trying not to be suspicious. I’m kind of a high-society person, just in case you didn’t know. Anna’s smile was more real now and she looked over to Sav. ”But I am glad I ran into you first at the party.” Sav made the whole thing endurable by paying attention to her and letting her do as she needed to. @sav

Sav had known Anna for a number of years since they were not only in the same house, but his parents were friends with the Weasley and Potter families and they had been around each other a bit as children. But throughout all the years that he knew Anna Weasley, he wasn’t sure he had ever seen her like this: so vulnerable and sad. It made him see her in a completely different way. Anna had always been someone who was fun to be around, some superhuman spirit of positivity. Now she was… normal, just like him. They were on the same level. “Anna I care about you, even if I haven’t seen you in a while. I’m glad we got a chance to talk.” he said, even though he hadn’t done much talking. He needed to work on being a better listener anyway. He talked enough, especially about himself. She teased about being a high society person and he gave a laugh, “Right, the Tri-Wizard Champion. Anna Weasley is now a household name.” he nudged her shoulder after removing his arm. Anna then said that she was glad she bumped into him at the party and they got to talk. “Yeah, me too. I didn’t think anything good would come from this.” but he was glad now he decided to wear a suit.

Talking with Sv tonight was very relaxing to Anna. She'd always considered him a friend, like most people, but she didn't think that most of her normal friends probably wouldn't do what he had tonight. Most people didn't come to a party willing to leave with someone who was having a hard time and she really appreciated Sav's willingness to do so. She smiled when he said that he cared about her and that he was glad they could talk, nodding along with him. "Me too," she told him honestly. Every time she thought about coming to this party, she tried to figure out how to keep control of her emotions and not let anyone know how hard of a time she was having. Anna was glad she didn't have to hide everything. She chuckled softly, smiling when he teased her about being a household them. Then she quirked an eyebrow at him, "Well don't I remember something about you planning on being a famous Quidditch Star? Maybe in a year or two everyone will forget all about me in favor of someone they can see playing games much more frequently." She was pretty sure Sav wouldn't change his mind about wanting to be a famous player. He'd do well at it, she was sure. His next words confused her thought. "You didn't think anything good would come from the party? Didn't you want to come?" Anna couldn't imagine why he wouldn't want to come, maybe he'd tell her. @sav

Anna teased him about his Quidditch ambitions and he gave a chuckle. “I won’t need a year or two.” He smirked. He was entirely confident in his skills, but he was also just being cocky for the purpose of making her laugh. He knew he’d have to work hard to get where he wanted to go. And he was absolutely willing to put in that work. He already was. Even if Gryffindor wasn’t playing very well this season. Anna questioned why he came to the part in the first place and Sav shrugged his shoulders. “seemed like a good place to pick up chicks.” He joked. But he had thought he might get a little flirting in today. “who am I to turn down a party?” .

Anna laughed when Sav responded that he wouldn't need a year or two. She quirked an eyebrow at him, "Oh, so you're going to rise to the top that quickly?" she teased. She didn't doubt he could do it, she'd seen him play and knew he was amazing. Anna was just teasing him for teh sake of the conversation, and because he was being such a good sport about everything. "Do you have a specific team you want to join?" Anna asked curiously. She always knew what he planned on, but Anna was never sure how specific Sav's goals were. She chuckled again when he said he came to the party to pick up chicks. She smirked, "I can find someone else to talk to, if you're still interested in that," she answered smoothly. She appreciated Sav coming and talking to her. He definitely lifted her spirits in a way she hadn't expected today, but she also didn't want to hold him back from any plans he might have. If he wanted to talk to other girls and flirt or whatever, she didn't want to stand in his way. @sav

Sav liked that Anna didn’t give him too much of a hard time for his comment, but she still teased him about it a little bit and didn’t let him get away with being too cocky and egotistical about his skill. He knew he was good. But he knew he had room to grow. This was a hard year on him. “I don’t have a preference really. Whatever team gives me the best odds.” he shrugged. He wanted to start as a player, not sit as a reserve. So he’d go to whatever team would give him that air time. She said she could find someone else to talk to him if he wanted to go find a girl to talk to and he shook his head. “nah. Most everyone is a little young for me.” he winked at the red head. It was kind of true though. A majority of the people there were likely friends with the bride, who was young. “I think I’ll hang around, if that's okay with you.”

Talking to Sav and teasing him felt normal and natural. Anna was enjoying it far more than she expected to when they started talking a while ago. He didn't get upset when she called him out on his bragging, which was nice. A lot of the guys in auror training were arrogant, but if you said anything about it or teased them, they got super defensive and upset. His response was much better. She nodded at his answer, "That makes sense. So do you know when they'll start looking for players and making offers? Or have they already started?" Anna knew absolutely nothing about how professional Quidditch worked, though she loved going to the games and admired the players. He didn't want to go and find someone else to talk to, saying that everyone here was too young for him. Anna chuckled, "Imagine being here as a graduate," she teased. "I feel like I've been gone for a decade instead of a year." It was ridiculous, but true. Everyone here seemed so small and young. She smiled when he said he'd hang around if she was okay with that. "That's more than okay," Anna answered, "I don't think anyone else would notice me if you left ... I'd probably just go home or something." She laughed, but it was true. Sav helped her feel comfortable here. Without him and on her own, Anna wouldn't last more than a minute. @sav

Anna asked when they would start being watched by scouts and Sav smirked “I think it started when we joined the team.” He admitted. “they like to see us grow and progress because it shows that we can improve and work hard.” he knew he had been being watched for at least the last year or two. Especially this year though. Eyes were on the Gryffindor captain, which was why the losses thus far this season were killing him.
Sav smirked when Anna said that it felt like it had been a decade since she had been a part of this crowd. A lot had changed for her. He nodded. “well Hogwarts misses you.” he smiled sheepishly. “or at least I do.” he winked playfully. Not in a flirty way, but he wanted to see her smile. He hoped she would. She explained that she would go home if he left her and he decided not to let that happen. She was here now. She should make the most of it. “well, wanna dance?” He asked. He held out his hand and then escorted her to the dance floor.
