Jan. 14, 2025 Mazie was definitely excited to be going to Hogwarts. The school was new and exciting, and all the people she'd known the first five years of her magical education experience were here. Well, all the ones who hadn't graduated yet. Missing last semester was definitely still a bit of a sore point for Mazie. As much as she loved her parents, being stuck at home with them for months while all the rest of her friends were here was definitely not her idea of fun, or a good education. At least she was here now. Also, it was definitely fun running into old friends and acquaintances, surprising them and convincing them to join her in new adventures. Granted, that wasn't super difficult. Mazie got along with just about everybody. Who wouldn't want to hang out with her? Today she got out of classes and decided to wander the castle. Sure, she had homework that she should probably be doing, but she was too excited! She'd been here for a little bit over a week and she was itching to know the castle and grounds better. As she walked, Mazie studied the walls and the portraits, trying to memorize every inch of the school. It was a long process, but she didn't care, and if she ran into a friend, well, she'd take a break for some fun. She turned the corner and saw a familiar face ahead. Mazie grinned as she skipped up to the boy wearing Ravenclaw colors. "Wait ... you're here?! Chase, how in the world are you in a different house than me?" She demanded, bouncing up to him cheerfully. "Didja miss me?" She smiled up at him, shrugging a shoulder. Man, it had been way too long since she saw her friend. She waited for his answer before glancing around conspiratorially, "Are you ready for an adventure?" No, she didn't know where she was going to lead him or what they'd do, but she had a reputation to uphold. One of fun explorations and whatnot. @chasehunter

Chase himself was a mixture of excited and anxious. This was the furthest he had been from home, and the furthest he had been from his beloved pup. Sure, he'd been a good distance away at Ilvermorny but this was even more different. This was a continent, an ocean away, away from the familiar, where he hardly saw any of his friends anymore. Hell, he didn't even see his twin brother all that often anymore. Blake was in a different house completely!
He ran into a girl in Gryffindor colors and for a moment was startled, but soon realized who it was. He gave a bright look "I did. It's so great to see familiar faces here!" His eyes were warm and bright. "And it seems like the Sorting Hat kind of thinks I fit Ravenclaw more. But don't think that adventurous Thunderbird spirit has left me!" He gave a huge grin. If anything, he was even kind of amused that both of his houses had mascots based on avians.
He placed his hands together, folded as though in prayer, and lifted them in front of his face. He would take a deep breath in, then exhale, lowering the hands away from his mouth. He almost made it look like he was going to say "no", but smirked. "Of course I am. Hogwarts is a hell of an adventure, after all."

Mazie grinned when Chase said that he missed her, though her expression turned to a grimace as he told her that the sorting hat said he fit more with Ravenclaw. "But what if I want an adventure in the middle of the night? I can't just go and wake you up and convince you to go with me ..." she pouted, though she didn't normally wake people up in the middle of the night. She just didn't like not having the option if she wanted to do it. "Oh yeah? Tell me one adventurous thing you've done since attending here," Mazie demanded, challenging him. It was all in good fun though. She watched Chase closely, smiling again when he agreed to come on an adventure with her. "Great! Okay, do you have anything about Hogwarts that you can show me since I missed last semester or do you want to help me find something cool that we can show off to other people?" Mazie could be accommodating, if she thought someone might have a preference, and if she didn't care about what she did. @chasehunter

Chase scratched his head. That was going to be the hard part to explain. He tilted his head thoughtfully. "Well, you could always send an owl to me. Owls do like to wake someone up for the middle of the night." He laughed warmly. He then snickered. "I'll have you know that I've been trying to make a comprehensive map of every corridor!" He had a bright chuckle.
He then tapped his chin. "Let's find something to show off. I'm still mapping out the campus after all. And you never know when you might find a new room that you never saw before, eh?" He chirped with a bright grin.

Mazie quirked an eyebrow as Chase obviously had to think of a way to answer her, eventually saying that she could send an owl in the middle of the night. "Would that work? Or would you just go back to bed," she teased. It was a lot easier to make sure someone got up when you were with them in person. Not that she didn't trust him, Mazie was just curious. Her eyes widened at his mention of making a map of the castle. "Really?! Merlin, you have to show me that!" She was all for exploring places she didn't know, but understanding this castle was also something on her list of things to do. At least Chase was down for some fun today. Mazie grinned at him, nodding at his suggestion. "Yeah, let's go somewhere you haven't mapped out yet. Maybe we'll be able to find something you've never seen before." She loved that idea. "Okay, so where should we start?" Since he was the one who had the comprehensive map, he should definitely be the one to lead them. @chasehunter
