Lee shrugged at the question that Mazie asked. She couldn’t say for sure that Mazie telling Jack that she liked him wouldn’t make him feel awkward about her if he didn’t feel the same way about her that she felt about him. “it’s like a leap of faith.” Lee shrugged. She didn’t know how better to describe it to her little sister. “if it’s worth it, you just have to go for it. But only you can decide if it’s worth it. Do the possible pros outway the possible cons?”

Mazie frowned. Lee's words were absolutely no help at all! She wanted to know if she should do something about Jack or not, and being told that she had to go for it if it was worth it ... how was she supposed to know that?! "I don't know Lee! I mean, being able to date him would be amazing! But ... what if me being so forward about this makes him uncomfortable? What if he starts to avoid me or something? That definitely would not be worth it to me. I just ... don't know what to expect from him." She frowned as she thought a little more. "I don't know what I'd do without him. It was hard enough the past few months at home when I couldn't see him." She put a hand to her head, sighing in frustration. Why did things like this have to be so complicated? She hated it. @alyra

Lee wished she could be of more help, but she didn’t want to lead her little sister down the wrong path. She was trying to help in a logical way - the best way that lee knew how. And she knew it was frustrating. She was just better with facts and figures than she was with feelings. She was trying to work on that. “From what you’ve told me about Jack - he won’t stop being friends with you just because you like him, even if he doesn’t feel the same way about you.” she shrugged. “And hey, maybe he’s sitting there thinking this same thing. Maybe he’s not making any moves because he’s worried he’ll scare you off and you won’t be friends anymore.” that seemed logical. They were both teenagers and anxious about this sort of thing. “So if he means that much to you, maybe you should take that chance.”

Mazie waited for her sister to give her opinion. She loved it when Lee gave her advice. Firstly, Lee always knew just what to say to make Mazie feel better. Second, she looked at things in a different way than Mazie did. Mazie nodded as her sister talked about Jack and how he probably wouldn't stop being her friend, even if he felt different than she did. That was true. Mazie just wasn't entirely sure how to bring it up to him. "You're right Lee. I should talk to him about it. I just need to get out of my head about the whole thing. He's my best friend. Even if he doesn't feel romantically about me, we can still be friends." She just couldn't stop thinking about that kiss. Mazie leaned forward, wrapping her arms around her older sister. "Thanks sis." she whispered, glad that Lee was close enough they could get together and talk like this. @alyra

Lee nodded after her sister thanked her, she prayed and hoped that she wasn’t giving her bad advice. But from everything that Mazie had told her about Jack, she didn’t think she was. She couldn’t imagine a friendship like theirs being fragile enough to fall apart because one of them had a crush on another. They were teens and it was natural. Lee, however, was an adult. And so was Rory. So their having crushes on one another was a different story, the stakes were a bit higher. “It’s kind of funny that you’re going through this right now… I’ve got a crush on my best friend too.” she admitted. She wasn't even sure that mazie would remember Rory. Lee had mentioned him several times whenever she’d get a letter from him, but Mazie had never met him and Lee wouldn’t at all be surprised if this came as a complete shock to her. Lee had dated, but she had never introduced a boy to her family. She never really spoke to Mazie about that sort of thing. Mazie had always been too young. But she wasn’t really all that young anymore. It was about time they became friends as much as they were sisters.

Mazie's eyes widened as her sister revealed that she was going through something similar with her best friend. "Really? And what are you doing about it?" She asked, wanting to know a little bit more if she could. "Have I heard about him?" Mazie felt like she should, if the guy really was Lee's best friend, but at the same time she knew that she didn't know a lot of the people in Lee's life. Her sister led a much more exciting life than Mazie was aware of. "How long have the two of you been friends?"

Mazie seemed shocked that Lee was experiencing a similar thing and asked what she was doing about it. Lee shrugged. Actually, she knew, kind of. They had kissed on New Year's and that had been a few months ago. Since then they had gone out on a few dates, but nothing had been labeled. “I guess we’re just seeing how it goes.” she admitted. They were both very busy people. The only real days that Lee took off of work entirely were days when she was going to get to see the girls in Hogsmeade. Otherwise she was there at the ministry almost every day. “You may have, his name is Rory. We lived right next to one another when we lived here in England before you were born. And we kept in touch kind of after we moved to America.” she explained. “He’s really nice, maybe one day you’ll meet him.” Lee definitely liked him. But with all the things she had on her mind and on her plate already, she wasn’t sure she had time to commit to a man right now. The girls and her job were more important.
@mazie I think you can wrap this one up

Mazie nodded when her sister gave her a vague description of what was going on. Maybe she didn't really want to talk about it. That made sense. Talking about Jack when she didn't think he felt the same hurt Mazie. It was probably the same for Lee. Her eyes widened when her sister gave the name. Rory ... wasn't that Lee's friend from her childhood? She smiled, "That's really cool that you've been able to reconnect with him here. I'll bet he missed you." At least, he should. Alyra was amazing enough that everyone who knew her should miss her. "You'll let me know if anything happens?" Mazie said with a smirk. "I'll tell you about Jack if you keep me in the loop about Rory." She fully expected Lee to do that. They were sisters, after all. "Hey, come on, I want to show you something!" Mazie jumped up as she remembered the little shop around the corner that she thought her sister would love. The two spent the rest of her time at Hogsmeade together, enjoying one another's company. --- the end --- @alyra
