Lee nodded. She understood why they wanted her to go with them, but the alley was also supposed to be a safe place. She supposed so was Hogsmeade before the attack. She wasn’t even fond of the girls being allowed to go there on student weekends throughout the rest of the year, but she had signed the papers anyway allowing them to. “well go together. We’ll get all the supplies and then lunch or something… or dinner… what time is it?” she checked the clock. Mid afternoon. This time zone had her biological clock so messed up. It was morning back in Los Angeles. “probably dinner then by the time we’re done.” she nodded.
Mazie said she was ready and Lee nodded, tossing her purse over her shoulder. Chrissy said she needed to use the bathroom first and Lee nodded, sitting down on the edge of the supplied sofa while they waited. “it’ll be a lot easier to be here once we’ve slept.” she said to her sister while they waited. “I don’t really feel like myself today.”

Mazie nodded when Lee agreed, saying that she'd take them and they could all go together. Good. As adventurous as Mazie Pond was, she didn't really want to investigate this area all on her own. Not with those convicts escaped from Azkaban and on the loose. It just didn't seem super smart. "Dinner afterword sounds like a good idea," she agreed. She would never be against food, of course. She was about ready to jump up and leave when the other girl said she needed to go to the bathroom. Mazie sighed and laid down on the couch, trying to be patient, though it definitely wasn't her best quality. She nodded, not looking at her sister when she spoke. "Yeah, food and sleep will probably help," she agreed, staring up at the ceiling. She could say that she didn't feel like herself, but she'd be lying. Mazie knew why she wasn't acting like she normally did, and that was because she was annoyed at her sister. When was that girl going to come back so they could go? @chrissy @alyra

December 29, 2024 Chrissy could still hear pieces of what Alyra and Mazie were saying as she was in the bathroom, though their voices were muffled slightly by the wall and door. Lee said something about not having slept and not feeling like herself, and Mazie agreed with her. Chrissy, too, felt that food and sleep were definitely necessities—ideally food that wasn't all individually wrapped and served on some plastic tray with barely any taste. Being able to sleep for real and in a bed instead of in some seat on the plane also sounded nice, almost luxurious.
In the hope that she wouldn't feel so groggy if she did, Chrissy splashed some water on her face before she left the bathroom. All that did was get her face wet, she realized, as water also fell from her face and hands and onto her shirt. Of course she had no way of drying it off quickly enough—not without a wand—so she figured that she would just have to zip her coat back up over it and live with being a little damp and cold for a while.
She studied her face in the mirror as she reached for the door handle to unlock it again. Dark circles had formed under her eyes, and her skin was dry. There wasn't much that she could do about either, though, and she fiddled with the lock again until it went back to its original position.
"I'm ready," Chrissy spoke, returning to the room. Even if she didn't feel as though she was, it let Lee know that the bathroom was free for her if she needed it.

Mazie laid back on the couch when Chrissy ran into the bathroom and Lee fiddled through her purse, making sure that she had the small sack of UK wizard currency that she exchanged back at the MACUSA before she had gone to get the girls. They were there, at the bottom of her purse. She fished the sack out and set it closer to the top where she could easily reach it. She’d have to get some more out but she wasn’t anxious to go to the bank today. She wasn’t really itching to do anything today. Chrissy came out of the bathroom and said she was ready, so Lee tossed the bag over her shoulder and nodded, leading the way out the door. Their apartment was in an alley off from Diagon, so they didn’t have far to go before they were in the lane with shops on either side and people rushing everywhere. “okay well. Where to first? Books? Potions supplies?” she asked. Lee didn’t really have a preference, she just hoped the girls remembered to bring their lists.

The girl finally came out of the bathroom, saying she was ready to go and Mazie looked to her older sister, wondering if Lee would want to go to the bathroom too or if they were really ready to go. To her surprise, Lee stood up and started straight for a door. With a small smile, Mazie got up and followed her. Getting out and about was definitely something that could cheer her up. She didn't want to stay stuck in this place all day. "I say books, but where do you think?" Mazie turned to the other girl, wanting to make sure she wasn't rude or anything. Really, she didn't care, she just wanted to get out. @chrissy @alyra (do we wanna fade out or continue? I'm happy with either)

December 29, 2024 After she had come back, Lee immediately went and put her purse on her shoulder, ready to go out and run their errands. Lee led their way out the door, Mazie following behind her. Chrissy then grabbed her coat, zipped it back up, and followed behind Mazie.
Lee asked them where they should go first, suggesting books or potions supplies. Books seemed a little bit more important to Chrissy, and that was also how Mazie answered. "I say books, but where do you think?"
Chrissy looked to the blonde, nodding in agreement. "Books, for sure." If they had their new school books with them, that would also give them something to do with their time when they weren't running errands in preparation for going to Hogwarts, and Chrissy didn't mind the sound of that.

OOC: I say we go ahead and fade this one.

Lee could tell that they all felt a little more awake once they stepped into the hustle and bustle of the alley. Maybe it was what they needed in order to beat jet lag and actually sleep at a normal time tonight. Lee had been awake going on 48 hours now besides the little bit of light sleep she had managed on the airplane and it was really weighing on her. Both girls agreed to start with their books and Lee nodded. At least that was simple and they didn’t want to go off in different directions. She was thankful for that. “flourish and blotts it is then.” Lee said, reading the sign above the bookstore. She lead the way in, pulling out the two girls school lists out of her purse as they stepped inside. She handed them each their own list, which explained the necessities for their respective years, and let them go to collect their books.
