March 5th Gabriel hadn't visited the store for a few weeks now, which was odd for him. But WADA had been keeping him busy, and he was enjoying every second of it. Still, he kind of missed the old Diagon Alley stomping grounds. He was out in the alley now, walking on the cobblestone streets, enjoying the sunlight and the summer air. School was still in session for a little longer before the summer break, but today was a Saturday so he thought he'd swing by the shop.
He didn't quite make it there though, before seeing Vasilia Fortescue up ahead of him. She looked to be going the opposite direction of her shop, which made him curious as to where she was headed. They hadn't really talked much since... well, since he went to Hogwarts and she didn't.
He froze in the middle of the walkway. A part of him wanting to say hello, another part of him wanting to duck out of the way.

@gabriel
Since starting culinary school Vasilia had been forced to cut down on some of her hours at the Ice Cream parlour during normal business hours (though not her total hours, just hours when it was actually open). While some days she was there from opening to closing, others she was forced to leave early for her classes. Today happened to be one of those days. She’d gone in extra early (before dawn) to do any last minute cleaning, make all the ice cream for the day, and do all the prep work in case they had a situation and needed to make more. She opened with one of the cashiers, made sure that there wasn’t any sort of morning disasters, and then she was heading out the door to her classes. Sure, she was leaving fairly early, but she liked taking the longer and more scenic route to school.
She’d just left the shop, and was digging through her side bag, when she looked up and spotted someone quite familiar. Sure, they hadn’t spoken in a long time, but when both your families ran shops in the same neighborhood you tended to at least catch glimpses of each other fairly frequently. Gabriel Ollivander. They were the same age, and used to be in the same friend circles. At least until he headed off to Hogwarts. After that, even though they’d still ‘seen’ each other each summer he was quite distant. Vas had spent her life in customer service and she’d become quite good at reading non verbal signs such as body language. So his behavior had been very noticeable, though she had never asked. People changed, especially during their schooling years.
Even with that knowledge though, Vasilia wasn’t the sort of person to just ignore others, especially when she knew though. As she got close enough, she stopped digging in her bag, and offered a smile. ”Hi, Gabriel. Haven’t seen you around much, how are you?” She slowed her walk, enough that if he responded positively she could ease to a stop, but quick enough that she could just keep going if he ended the conversation before it really began.

Thankfully, he didn't have to make any decision about her. Vasilia approached him all on her own, offering a smile and greeting him. "I'm... I'm good," he suggested, his feet finally moving so that he could just walk with her if she kept going. "Can I walk you somewhere? How have you been?" he was talking too quickly now, obviously uncomfortable. Well, obvious to him. He still, subconsciously, kept a little distance between the two of them. "I was just planning to stop in the shop and say hi to Nell - Eleanor," he was sure that his sister would be there right now. She was often there, especially when it was business hours. Though, with the recent return of their older brother it was a little hard to guess where anyone in his family would be at any given time.
