Today was Liam's birthday! Happy birthday to him, he was working! Unlike most people, to him this was a good thing. Liam absolutely loved his job. Working in the Time Room was fascinating to him, with the added benefit of being an Unspeakable, which meant he never had to tell anyone what he did for his work. It was better that way. His ultimate goal in this position was to be able to create new time-turners like the ones that the ministry lost all those years ago, but in order to build up to such a large project he had to work on small ones first.
His project for the last few months was working with a special kind of watch, trying to get the mechanics to work more smoothly with different magical features. Of course, Liam tried to include different features that he was developing, like a 15-second do-over (which was not working for him at all). Either way, he was fascinated by these watches. He thought about them constantly, while he was at work or not. His mind constantly thought of new ways to improve them and make them more useful.
Quite frequently, things went wrong when one was working in the Time Room, or in other rooms in his department. They normally weren't major things that would injure someone, but hearing the occasional explosion wasn't really anything to be concerned about. Every person who worked here was quite smart and new how to handle things.
Today, Liam just happened to be alone in the room when it happened. In all honesty, he didn't know exactly what did happen. Only that one moment he was trying a new charm on one of the watches. The next thing he knew there was a loud boom and he found himself waking up five minutes later on the ground. Liam moaned, a weird buzzing feeling in his stomach. He didn't know what just happened, but he felt strange. He got up, wanting to work on the watches a bit more, but his head was ringing and he decided it would be better if he just headed home for the night.
It wasn't until he got home that he was able to figure out what really happened to him.
