APRIL 14, 2025 HISTORY OF MAGIC CLASSROOM
It was a few days after the triplet's birthday, which luckily for them had fallen over the weekend. They had exchanged gifts that they had gotten for each other and even the ones that were sent from home via owl. When Monday morning came around, she was giddy with excitement. She was no longer the young little sixteen-year-old but an older and much more mature seventeen-year-old. Though she barely felt a difference, she felt more bold, more powerful than she had before. She didn't know why, but she felt today would be a good day.
She made her way to the History of Magic classroom, one of the many classes that she was taking that term and sat down in her regular seat, talking and conversing with her fellow sixth years as they waited for the professor to appear. Not long after, they did, walking into the room and beginning the lesson. It was then that she heard her name, and her head snapped up in the direction of the professor.
And then came the question, one that they had yet to learn of yet and Peyton looked at the professor as if they had two heads. Why would she ask such a question if they had yet to learn about it? The Professor seemed to notice her hesitation, and they smiled once more, asking it one more time before saying that if she didn't know the answer, it was fine. However, Peyton frowned as she began hearing something as if someone was writing on a chalk-board and her attention slowly slipped towards the blank board in the corner.
Eyes widening, she noticed that an answer had appeared on the board, though it was ghostly as if it wasn't there. She narrowed her eyes at it, but just as quickly as it appeared, it was gone once more. She swallowed, looking at the professor and giving the very answer that was written before her. Much to her surprise and that of her peers, the professor exclaimed that she was right and praised her on reading ahead.
Later that day, she came back to speak to her professor, recounting the tale of what happened in class. The professor was stunned at first before a smile appeared on their face, and they nodded their head. "Seems to me like you have some form of photographic memory, though...if you've never heard about this before...it seems you can tap into someone else's memory,"
Peyton later did more research, learning that she had some form of photographic memory. And as the days passed, she realized just how much she could remember, but it only happened in the space that the memory came from...both her own and another. But seeing it wasn't the only way that she could, she could also hear it, as if someone were whispering the answer in her ear. And lastly, it seemed she had to focus on a question or be asked it before it triggered. She had much to learn about this newfound ability, and she was prepared to master it.
