Katherine seemed to consider the option for a second but then her mood changed in the same instant. She said no coldly and then gripped the hand rail on the stairs. Sav let her move a little bit ahead and then followed her. “okay well I’ll just come with you then.” He decided. There was no reason to get back on his broom at this point. Walking would only take a little bit longer and he didn’t really want to abandon her. They were partners after all and he wanted her to be comfortable. He knew her well enough by now that she’s speak her mind and tell him if she didn’t want him to follow her. So he followed. “not a fan of flying?” He asked innocently as they climbed down.

He followed her, holding onto his broom. He said he'd go with her, which she thought was a little weird. Don'y flying people like to do it as much as possible? She didn't say anything about it, though. Just nodded and started to make her way down the stairs. He followed, and then asked if she wasn't a fan of flying. She felt her muscle tense at the question. She did NOT like to talk about her weaknesses, no matter what they were. It wasn't like she thought she was better than her issues, but more than she would rather pretend that they weren't there then address them. That was the exact reason that her and Lance had broken up. She was angry, she didn't explain it, and he didn't bother fighting for her at all. Really, in the long run, the only constant was numbers. She shook her head, holding onto the railing quite tightly still as she slid her hand down it. "It's none of your business," she said. Her voice wasn't harsh, necessarily. More than it was a defeated kind of tone, like she was exasperated with the fact that she had this weakness at all.

Sav shrugged. She was right. It wasn’t his business. Sav liked to be friendly and chat with people, but he didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable by asking about things they didn’t want to talk about. He tried to be good about that because he didn’t want others to feel like he had to share with them because they shared with him. There was plenty that Sav chose to keep to himself. They finally made it Down to the pitch and he set his broom with the rest of his stuff on the sideline. “so what were you thinking as far as the plan? Just a clean go through?” they had got their routine set, so at this point they just had to get comfortable with it.

She was surprised he didn't press it. Most people around here, as far as Katherine noticed, were obnoxiously nosy. She was... happy, that he didn't push the issue. Once they were down on the pitch, she walked with him to his stuff and got her wand out of her robes. "Yeah... I think we should just practice it piece by piece and if something is difficult for us then we'll go back and practice that section again and again until it's right. Going all the way to the end without knowing what exactly needs work isn't smart," she explained. She was much more relaxed when talking about equations and things of the like and that was basically all this was. A physical, active one, but an equation nonetheless. Their plans put into action. She stepped onto the pitch, raising her wand toward him, "I guess you're first," she remembered. @sav (maybe just do like 4 attacks/blocks each? so 8 movement total.)

Sav was always a leader, but right now he followed Katherines lead on the pitch, not feeling the need to control this situation. She got out her wand and agreed With what he asked. She explained that they should stop if anything was difficult and he nodded, he also wanted to ensure it would all be easy since something could go really bad if someone messed up or didn’t have enough energy to put into the spell. She took up her position and once again he followed, taking out his wand from his back pocket and aiming it at her. She reminded him that is was his move first and he nodded, going over the script in his head. He started with an attack. “Petrificus Totalus!” He cast at her.

"Protego!" Kat shouted a the tail end of his spell. It blocked the cast from hitting her, which was the point. It wasn't like a real duel when you knew a spell was coming, but at least they were showing they knew how to cast the spells. She then countered back, as the script stated, "Impedimenta!" she cast. She was trying to remember what came next, and reached into the pocket of her robe to check the list they had written down while he did his counter spell. But, alas, the list wasn't in her pocket. "Wait, wait. Before you go next, what's my next block?" she asked, cursing herself under her breath that she couldn't recall where she had put the script. She didn't want to be unprepared when his spell came toward her. She continued searching her pockets, but to no avail. She groaned with frustration.
@sav (Sav 1 Attack, Kat 1 Block, 1 Attack. Sav Blocks and Attacks next)
((– Impedimenta: Impediment Jinx; prevents the victim from approaching the caster (by knocking back, tripping, etc.))

Katherine blocked his spell and then shot another one at him, but right after she had sent the spell she announced that she had forgotten her next block. He raised his wand, caught off guard but had just enough time to cast his block before her spell hit him. He was fairly good at dueling, he had quick reflexes. She looked around for her script and couldn’t seem to find it. “here…” He could see that she was flustered, so he ran over to his bag and pulled his own out, it was crumbled a little, but he handed it to her before jogging back over to his spot. “let me know when you’re ready.”

He moved over to his bag, after successfully blocking her spell, and he grimaced at him. Since when was the British Gryffindor Quidditch kid the more prepared one? He handed it to her and she looked down at it, her brows knitting together even more fiercely. "F*ck," she grumbled to herself, flattening the paper out with both hands so she could read over it. She looked at the whole thing so she didn't have to check again. Needing it at all was embarrassing enough. "Okay, okay," she snapped, lifting her wand and shoving the paper into her pocket. "I'm ready," she announced, maybe a little harshly. She didn't not like looking like a fool in front of people. Especially not when she was already on edge about those stupid Quidditch stands that were a million feet in the air.

Sav hadn’t minded at all that his partner needed a little bit of help, that was part of the educational process wasn’t it? He hated school but he was all for learning, at least learning the things that interested him. And he couldn’t count the number of times he had failed at a move in Quidditch before he finally got it. That was part of the whole experience. She decided that she was ready after looking the script over and raised her wand back up. He count tell that she wasn’t in the best mood anymore. “Diffindo!” he cast back at her once she looked like she was ready. @katie

As he cast the cutting charm, Kat was ready. She threw up an ice wall to block, which his charm sliced through - cutting the wall in half so it fell in two pieces on either side of her. The second the opening split, though, she moved onto the next attack whether he was ready or not. She non verbally sent a blast of fiendfyre toward him and too late realized that she was supposed to pause until he was ready to throw up his block. She cursed under her breath and rushed over the broken ice toward him. "Hey, hey, are you okay?" she asked, her tone a little panicked. She was already irritated enough due to things that had nothing to do with him... (I'm just going to where he gets hurt cuz I'm lost :,D)

Sav knew what spell was coming next, but he also knew that there was a moment where he could put his defenses up before she would send it his way. He trusted she was giving him that time, but as soon as he raised his wand, the flames barreled towards him, engulfing him in a smothering heat and searing his skin. Sav howled in pain and instinctively doused himself in water from the tip of his wand. Once the fire was out. He let himself collapse a little. His arms were burnt, and his neck. His wand also sported a few, new, sear marks from the flames. She was rushing over to him, asking if he was okay. “Uh, yeah. I think.” he was alive, so he was okay. “Could be better. Think I should get something on these burns…” he didn’t want to blame her, but he was kind of having a hard time looking at her.

She reached a hand out toward him, her brow furrowed and her eyes filled with concern. Her tone, however, remained as flat as usual. "No, no. We've got to get to the hospital wing, come on," she didn't touch him, not necessarily wanting to intrude on his space but... he wasn't looking at her. What the hell? She swallowed hard and cleared her throat, letting her concern move aside for a businesslike suit. "Come on, it's not that far," she said, maybe a tad harsh. She led the way, but she had no idea how to talk to him now... so she didn't. @sav (the end haha)
