BEING CURIOUS ENOUGH ABOUT WOLFSBANE and werewolves as a whole had Sari wondering if she was annoying the Potter with her a million and one questions. But Sari watched with slight excitement as Lily answered her question, nodding her head along to show that she was indeed listening to every detail. Her eyes widened at times of Lily's explanation, filled with curiosity and shock that werewolves had to go to such measures just to make sure they didn't shift on the full moon. "Wait wait.." She began after Lily paused. "You take a potion every day during the week before the full moon?...So seven potions in a week?" Surely that wasn't healthy. Sari herself didn't understand the purpose of ingesting potions, nor did she not pay attention to when her father lectured her and her siblings about the dangers of potion consumption. Especially with the rumours of upcoming dark potioneers too.
"That must be a cool job to have..." She murmured to herself. It seemed thoroughly organised as well, having to create seven potions for a werewolf and making sure they were delivered on time. Sari didn't have the time or patience to wound up with such a role but she supported anyone who did. Sari only smiled small at Lily's laugh, her mind taking her else where. What would've happened if one of the werewolves or vampires had suddenly...turned or changed negatively? Surely Hogwarts could've been shut-down immediately. "Where do they keep you guys?...Just in case something happens?..." Sari assumed they wouldn't just be cozied up in their bedrooms on the night of full-moons.
The more Lily talked, the more Sari ended up learning. Her family treated dark creatures as if they were a problem - in the broader perspective only the dangerous ones were - but Sari herself has no issues with dark creatures. Especially since she had become friends with quite a few of them. "Oh right...The full moon is soon isn't it?.." It must have sucked being a werewolf, but Sari wouldn't of mentioned that thought aloud - she didn't want to potentially offend Lily, especially since it seemed like Lily didn't mind or even loved being one. "So you've been out here all day?...Playing stone skipping alone?.." The Fawley found herself slightly frowning at Lily's mention of how she got after the day of the full moon. "At least you kind of get a few extra days to relax or something right?..Or do they have you back in classes right after?" Sari was one year younger than Lily so she hadn't entirely noticed the pattern of Lily being in or out of classes anyway.
Sari had kind of wished then she knew about 'Squidy' long before discussing it with Lily, but since attending Hogwarts since her First Year, she hadn't really been one to explore somewhat around the grounds. Sari was more drawn to the Court Yard or even the Hufflepuff common room. "I kind of regret not coming out here until now.." Now was the perfect time anyway since the Fawley had a lot on her mind.

▲ “Yup!” Seven potions in seven days. It was easily the most annoying thing in the world, but she had gotten used to it. Far easier at Hogwarts too, since she would basically be hunted down by one of the nurses in the Hospital Wing if she got to dinner without taking it. “All for safety too. Like, I’m horrid at a lot of things, but I don’t mess around with Wolfsbane. That’s a big no-no with the Ministry.” There had been warnings after the first few months of slip-ups, something that was apparently common with newer werewolves. Technically she hadn’t wanted to take the potion at that point, because she failed to see how it was necessary when she felt like she was in complete control of the wolf. Apparently that was because there weren’t any people wandering the forest to attack. She had since been shown photographs of the aftermath of werewolf attacks, and the shock value was enough to get her taking the Wolfsbane every month. As for making the potion, she didn’t actually know what the full process was. Apparently it used to be pretty expensive, but last she had heard, Jamie, and another potioneer she worked with, were looking into ways to making it cheaper and for the werewolves to remain aware of what was going on while turned. If that was the case, Lily was actually looking forward to it. Right now, it was sort of boring. “In the dungeons, locked up. But it’s better than the hotel I have to go to in London when I’m home during breaks. Some of the werewolves that stay there are weird, but it’s really the only place to go.” And she disliked leaving in the morning, the weird walk that always followed leaving the building. Sari seemed surprised that it was strange for Lily to be on her own. Like sure, she was always hanging onto someone or jumping into groups up at the castle, but that didn’t mean she was required to be around people all day. “I’m not alone! Squidy is here too, remember?” Even though technically she was on her own up until Sari arrived. “And yeah, sometimes I have to sit out from classes. But usually I’m already skipping anyways, so it doesn’t really matter.” It seemed kind of silly to blame her tardiness all on the wolf, but it did happen on occasion. “Yeah it’s pretty awesome here. Even better when it’s frozen over. Except then Squidy is asleep, so I don’t know.”@sari ● 421 ● Bible by Ghost MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

AT LILY'S RESPONSE, SARI SHOOK her head. Seven potions for seven days was more than enough to piss anyone off. Sari got annoyed herself when she fell ill and had to rely on her mother and family nurse, taking potions to help calm and soothe whatever issue she had, so she couldn't imagine such a strict prescription to help control werewolf tendencies. "That's one of the many things I won't envy you about then." She replied fairly quietly. "No-No with the Ministry?" She repeated, raising her brow a little. "You can essentially get into trouble even if you accidentally miss one?...Have you ever missed one?.." Sari hoped Lily wasn't getting annoyed with all of her questions but now was the longest time she had spoken to the Potter without something randomly happening in between.
A hotel in London for werewolves was the first time Sari had heard of something, but considering her family - their strictness and how they wish to raise each Fawley child...Sari knew she couldn't entirely blame herself. "What's it like there?...Is it funded for you or do you need to pay every time you're there?" With the more the Potter informed her, the Fawley's interest only grew stronger. She hadn't had a werewolf 'friend' or acquaintance before, considering the only 'dark-being' she had spoken to with joy was Zen.
"Oh-Oh right." Sari responded, smiling down at the water, guessing where Squidy would be. "Assuming with the full-moon coming..This is probably the week they let you off for skipping right?.." It was just a guess after all. "Poor Squidy..He probably gets lonely over Winter, not knowing that you come here enough to try and see him." Sari continued, her smile small but genuine as she imagined a smaller Lily trying to find the Squid.

▲ Sari asking all of these questions was like begging for a story time, and Lily was ready to provide an endless amount of them for her. In terms of missing, or rather skipping, potions, that had happened plenty of times. Nowadays, that didn’t really matter much because she was going to be locked up regardless of whether everything worked. The dungeon room was a safe place and well-guarded apparently. “We’re all on a list supposedly. Like a registry? When I was turned, they swung by the hospital wing and took down a lot of information and got me all set up with the process and stuff,” she explained as she hurled another stone across the pond. Throughout that entire post-bite visit to the hospital wing, she had difficulty hiding her giddiness from her family and the Ministry workers. Just thinking back on it made her want to laugh uncontrollably. They still didn’t know that it was Adrian that turned her. “In trouble in the sense that they would have to dispatch Aurors to restrain me if I got out and went on a rampage. The school didn’t really lock me up tight the first few times so I went running in the woods. But that stopped after they realized what was happening.” And all she walked away with was a slap on the wrist. Feigning that she didn’t know any better could only work so many times. The hotel was a different story. She had to stop and think about Sari’s question regarding it, not really sure what the best way to answer it would be. “I think it’s funded by the Ministry? They know that I’m supposed to be there, so I check in before and after, and that’s sort of it. Even though I sleep through most of the night, the wolf still likes to destroy the bed they put out,” she added at the end, laughing a bit about the first time she had gone there, being the summer after she had turned. The ones at Hogwarts had to have been charmed because she had never gone crazy on those ones, or rather, she didn’t remember doing so. “I’m still expected to show up unless I have a note from the nurse. And they only give me one if the effects are really bad. Won’t get anything because I feel like I need to move, like today.” Those were the kind of days where she really felt like skipping. The flu-like symptoms that she had seen plague some of the other werewolves she had come into contact with didn’t occur nearly as often with her as she felt like they should. Then again, she didn’t really get sick in general, so there was that. “I think he knows I visit, even though he’s sleeping. We have that sort of bond, you know?”@sari ● 475 ● She by Pale Waves MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

THE THOUGHT OF BEING PUT onto a registry, simply for her entire life to be tracked was a frightening one. But knowing Lily Potter, or at least the things the Fawley had heard of her, as long as the Gryffindor had some sort of freedom, things would be fine for her. Lily's explanation in regards to everything only had the Hufflepuff nodding intensely, eager to learn more about it all. Sari didn't know what she could do with such information but retain it for her eventual internship at the Ministry. Looking up as Lily threw another stone across the water, she frowned slightly. "You're so young as well...Isn't it..like a burden?.." While Lily was older than her, Sari still couldn't picture her life as a dark creature. Continuing to nod in understanding, Sari's mouth formed a small 'o' shape at Lily's next few words. "The woods?..As in..That way?" Sari questioned, pointing in the direction of the woods in which students weren't really allowed to be within.
At Lily's answer, Sari nodded. While dark creatures weren't typically...liked by purebloods or the 'majority' of people, Sari felt somewhat happier, knowing that the Ministry provided support to them all. She guessed it was to prevent the existence of dark creatures, witches and wizards from being revealed to Muggles. But Sari felt if someone, in particular a Muggle simply asked the Potter, she would probably admit to being such a thing. "That's oddly fascinating...Not cool obviously since it must be a pain for you to do that monthly...But still..."
As Lily revealed she needed a note from the nurse to essentially skip her upcoming classes, Sari's lips twitched up into a small smile. "So...You're skipping right now right?.." She wouldn't snitch of course, she had no reason to. "I'll help you keep moving if you want.." She needed to keep her mind off of everything that burdened her currently, so even hanging out with someone that the Fawley had rarely hung out with...Was promising. "An unspeakable bond?" Sari added in question, her smile a little wider. "I get what you mean though..He seems like a cool squid."

▲ Lily had never viewed being a werewolf as a burden. The mere thought of it made her scrunch her nose up as much as it would go, as if it elicited a bad smell. She actively liked the wolf, despite what others seemed to think of it. If she hadn’t wanted to become one in the first place, she simply wouldn’t have pestered Adrian into it. There was also the part where he could have said no along the way (in which he definitely had dozens of times until she finally roped him in), but that was neither here nor there. All of that was in the past and now she was living with the consequences of her actions. Which was basically the story of her life up to this point. Being young and a werewolf seemed normal to her, only because all of the ones she knew at Hogwarts had been like that since they were young. She admittedly knew plenty of younger werewolves, more so than ones that had fully lived out their lives as ones, most likely because of the stigma that once surrounded it. “Yup! Those woods. I’ve got a secret hideout out deep in there, so I would go out there and turn,” she said as she tossed another stone. “Far enough from wandering students but before you get to the spiders. So it isn’t all that dangerous.” A follow-up throw of another stone almost hit her record of bounces, but cut under the water a few hops before it, causing Lily to prematurely jump with excitement. She nodded her head at Sari as the Hufflepuff girl seemed to be coming to terms with what it meant to live life as a werewolf. There were a lot of different facets to the wolf, and not everyone wanted to sit down and listen to her talk about them. Probably because she was fairly frank about what most considered to be a horrid transformation into a beast. Sari asked her if she was skipping class currently, and that made Lily pause. Was she? She couldn’t even remember anymore. “Dude, I don’t even know what time it is right now. So maybe?” she admitted. There was an offer to keep walking around the lake, and Lily pondered it for a second. It was probably a good idea to do another lap or two and then call it quits. She would still be energized until the full moon at this rate, but there was still time to burn it all off. “Yeah I could do with some walking and talking,” Lily agreed as she threw the rock in her hand, not bothering to watch where it plopped into the lake. “It’s absolutely unspeakable,” she yelled behind her as she walked off without seeing if Sari was following. “But the second I figure out squid-speak, you can bet your Bertie Bott’s Beans I’m sticking my head in the water and chatting him up.”@sari ● 493 ● My Walden by Nightwish MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

SARI KNEW THE WOODS WAS fairly large but she hadn't imagined how large. Nor did she want to know, she realised. Though as Lily threw another rock, Sari watched with a small smile as she started to jump with excitement - indicating a new 'high-score' before the Fawley realised Lily was just slightly off from it. The conversation itself left the Hufflepuff in realisation of how different their lives were, but how similar the Ministry makes it out to be. Minus the registration and whatnot. As long as Lily didn't feel like an outsider or hurt anyone, Sari believed it was somewhat okay to live however she wanted. "You know...You're kind of cool Lily." Sari added with a smile, knowing that Lily must have been through enough in the last few years anyway.
At Lily's next response, Sari couldn't help but let out a quiet laugh. The last time Sari had seen the time, it had just turned eleven, so anytime soon, lunch would be ready for everyone. "Assuming we've been talking for like an hour or something...Maybe it's almost time for lunch?" She presumed, wishing she had a watch on her. "Either way..When we start to hear other people, then we'll know its time to head in." Watching the rock plop into the lake before realising Lily was already on the move, the Fawley jogged a bit to catch up with her. Happy that Lily accepted her offer of walking around the lake some more, Sari then kept up with Lily's pace. "Squid-speak? Is there even any way to study or learn that?" She found herself asking.

▲ Lily was beaming when Sari called her cool. Like, she knew that she was and everything, but lately it seemed like everything had been way too serious for her to be complimented in that manner. The professors were warning her every day about her grades, her parents were telling her she needed to pick up the pace on getting work done, and even her housemates were talking less with her now that exams were coming. She knew that wasn’t any of their fault and that it was mostly her own problem, but it absolutely sucked to be ignored because she was seen as a distraction or annoyance. Normally that didn’t bring her down at all, yet here she was. “Thanks!” she said brightly, her confidence coming back with the compliment. “Not everyone thinks the stuff I do is worth it, but I don’t know. I like being who I am, and if that makes me cool, then awesome!” Time was always a problem with her. Late to class, late to bed (if she even slept in the first place), late to everything. Sari seemed to think that they had been talking for almost an hour, which had Lily nodding her head in agreement even though she didn’t know. “My stomach hasn’t growled yet, so it can’t be that close, right?” she answered Sari’s question with her own. On the other hand, she had devoured her breakfast, so that would explain why she wouldn’t be hungry yet. Sari’s reasoning for when they could leave to get food made sense, and she threw a thumbs up at the Hufflepuff as she walked backwards, facing the other girl. “Yeah! Talking to squids. I bet if I learned mermish or something that would work. I’ve seen people stick their head in the lake before and talk to the mermaids.” She had heard stories about it from her parents too. Apparently her dad even met the mermaids in the Black Lake once! @sari ● 327 ● Malice of Rites by Slaughter to Prevail MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
