▲ Zen had a good point. Who did she have to brag to? Not that it was inherently a bad thing, since she still had friends to talk to, but her point was made loud and clear as Steve leaned back into the bone couch and felt every bit of it as he did so. He could walk around the castle blabbering about his accomplishment all day, and he wouldn’t care if anyone actually listened to him or not. But he lived to talk, and not doing that would kill him. Zen was the opposite of that. “I can do it for you,” he stated, as he leaned forward on the piece of furniture again. Whatever was digging into his back was not comfortable at all. “Boost your rep. Then maybe more people will approach you and you can use that as a way to practice talking.” It sounded all well and good to him. Even if more people only meant another one or two that she could confidently interact with, that would be a success in his opinion. “Up to you though,” Steve said as he slid off the couch, and walked back towards her. “We could always just tell a little white lie about how you hopped right onto it without a second thought. Those sorts of things get me through every day.” And the second half of that statement was absolutely an exaggeration. Stretching the truth was pretty easy to do, and Steve liked to think that everyone did that. It was harmless in the end, and no one was going to second guess a half-vampire that regularly drank blood and could walk on walls about whether or not she sat on a couch made out of bones. As far as the rest of the students currently enrolled at Hogwarts knew, Zen could have an entire mansion filled with that sort of furniture. Being creepy was cool, and it paid off. to figure out what it is. CONSIDERING ZEN DIDN'T HAVE MANY friends in Hogwarts, she generally wondered who she would brag to about having the opportunity of sitting on a bone couch. She mainly hanged out with Steve and his sister, Sari whenever she was around, or Kaylee and Ellie. Daniel was an additional bonus but since he had graduated, Zen could only express such excitement through an Owl. But both Kaylee and Ellie would have been creeped out by the fact there was even a bone-like store somewhere in England. Watching as Steve relaxed back into the couch, Zen's eyes widened at his suggestion.
"Huh?!" She blurted out. She appreciated the offer of him boosting her rep, but the thought of talking more than she needed to, only filled the Novell with sheer anxiety. "I-Is that absolutely n-necessary?.." Her stutter had been improving from sole practice with her aunt and even with Steve and Zen's other friends but knowing Steve...He wouldn't take that for an answer. Instead he would probably force encourage the half-vampire to speak to more people.
"W-Would anyone even...b-believe that lie?.." She asked in response, knowing that Zen wasn't a typical popular choice within Hogwarts. If people had a smart bone in their body, they would see right through Steve's exaggeration. But then again...Zenevieva was one of many half-vampires in Hogwarts, and drank blood more often than the rest due to the sudden change that left one of her eyes a crimson red. Maybe no one would actually challenge such a thing.

▲ Necessary? Nope. But Steve liked the idea of getting his friend to a point where she was comfortable in most social situations. He obviously didn’t want to force her into it, but a lot of good things came out of being able to communicate and deal with people that otherwise wouldn’t be possible if she stayed as reserved as she was. The vampire bit was only part of it – he understood what that was sort of like – though he also knew that it was possible to capitalize on it and make people interested in being friends with her. “Oh yeah. Imagine people saying how badass that Zen girl is because she conquered a whole living room of furniture made out of bones in Knockturn Alley,” Steve said with a voice that wasn’t his, to mimic someone else saying it. “I don’t know, I think it would work. White lies have never actually hurt anyone before.”At the most, they got him in trouble with his mom. Like the time he accidentally knocked over the blood fridge in the basement of their old house in Canada. That went over real well. His mom had him sussed out before she even knew what had really happened. Quite the mess it had made too. If it had been anything other than blood, he probably would have been forced to clean it up himself, but the trace and needing to get rid of it immediately meant that his parents had to do it themselves. “But it’s up to you. Going into Knockturn is hardcore enough as it is,” he reasoned. Not many students would willingly wander in, mainly because they had zero business in this part of the shopping district. As half-vampires, that sort of alleviated a lot of problems that he and Zen would possibly run into otherwise. Technically they fit in here more than anywhere else, which he thought was funny. to figure out what it is. ZEN HONESTLY COULDN'T IMAGINE HERSELF speaking to more than six people. Two or three of them being her close friends and then the others potentially Professors or even her aunt. She knew Steve had good intentions, potentially to help with her confidence and even rid herself of a stutter even faster, but the thought of people coming up to her, to praise her or question her for something she didn't even do...Frightened the Novell. Strangely enough. The way Steve spoke was enough for a small smile to rise to Zen's lips though, knowing he was doing it in an attempt to cheer her up from her own mind.
"I d-don't know.." She began, looking down at her feet. It seemed like a decent enough opportunity to make other friends - despite loving the friends she currently had - and maybe Steve was right. "O-Okay.." She added, nodding as if she believed in her final answer. "I d-don't mind you t-telling everyone..Even i-if it's a lie..." People seemed to be interested in them anyway considering they were half-vampires, but half-vampires going to Knockturn Alley for the fun of it?..Zen always wondered why doing such a thing was seemed as 'cool'.
"B-But if I end up...S-stuttering you have to help.." She added, knowing that regardless Steve would be around to either help or speak up for the Novell anyway.

▲ He felt like Zen was only agreeing to it because he was playing it up. Actually making her speak up about the store, or him doing it in her stead, was only going to happen if she was absolutely fine with it. White lie or not. Steve knew that his enthusiasm could get away from him at times, especially when coupled with his sister’s aggressiveness to do everything at over one-hundred percent, but that didn’t mean he needed to force it all onto Zen too. That was part of the learning process here. It was always just him and Nora, and a few other kids in their community that also happened to have magic in their blood. Being tossed into Hogwarts and London like this was a lot, and even a year later, overwhelming. If anything, Zen handled it a lot better than he did at times. She knew the boundaries and when to do what she could. He was still extending his feelers and trying to get a grasp on what school was, and how to interact with other teens. He was glad that there were a bunch of others like him though, that way it wasn’t just him and Nora on their own again. “Got it, my dude,” Steve said, flashing a grin at her. “I’ll let you know when and where, that way you can get prepared for whatever comes next. Or tell me not to go through with it.” That seemed to be the most reasonable way to go about it, considering her social anxiety. And he was definitely keeping the plan between them. Nora wasn’t going to know unless she happened to be around them when they went through with it. Her tendency to blabber and brag was bigger than his at times, and Zen deserved to revoke his lie before it actually got out there if she wanted to. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

to figure out what it is. SOMEWHERE WITHIN ZEN, THE HALF vampire knew she was simply agreeing to something like this to avoid Nora's confrontation of it in the long run. Steve was definitely the smooth talker between the twins, using his 'charms' or charisma in order to convince Zen to do such random ridiculous things (like visit this store for instances), while Nora more-so...demanded. The Novell didn't mind it though, as a lot of the time she just needed that little (loud in Nora's case) voice at the back of her mind in order to convince and hype herself up.
But with something like this, Zen only feared people would be able to see through Steve's lies quicker than he could tell the story. Zenevieva knew the suggestion was only to give her a slight boost and practice speaking with others that weren't in her close circle, but even she knew she wasn't too ready, despite the story-telling not even happening yet.
As Steve flashed a grin her way, the blonde forced her best smile, grabbing the insides of her jacket to keep her nerves from spiking high. "T-Thank you.." She stuttered out, smiling at Steve's mention of not going along with it. "Can...Can w-we get out of here?" Honestly just standing while Steve relaxed on the bone couch was enough to creep the Novell out ten times more. "I'll b-buy us snacks o-or drinks elsewhere just..P-Please?.."

▲ Whatever the outcome ended up being, he wasn’t going to jump on it until Zen gave him the go ahead. It was a lot easier this year than it had been during his first one at Hogwarts, to the point where he didn’t feel like he needed to be jumping the gun in his friendships here. He and Zen were cool so there wasn’t a reason to overstep her comfort even if he knew it would benefit her in the long run. Forcing that would only mess up everything he had been working towards since having to come to England. While he would still technically have Nora as a forever built in friend, he wasn’t about to ruin one with another half-vampire. Zen wanted to leave the store, and Steve was perfectly fine with that. He had gotten his fill with the bone couch and pretty soon here they would probably have the storeowner breathing down their necks about playing with the merchandise. It was all fun and games until getting yelled at started up. He didn’t want to be around for that. “Blood pops?” he asked, knowing that they could both enjoy that. “Oh!” Steve exclaimed, “What about ice cream? I think they’ve got blood infused flavors now. Been meaning to try that out.” If Zen didn’t want to, he could definitely convince his sister to go at some point. The fact that the ice cream parlor was tailoring flavors to their kind was super awesome, and he wasn’t even big into blood flavored foods outside of the candies. “I’m all set here. But once I get a place of my own after school, this bad boy is going front and center in my living room,” he joked as he gave the couch one last look before turning to leave the store.
