October 4, 2025 @emrys Finally. Jayli was home. They'd brought her home on the first, then taken a few days off work to spend some quality time as a family. It was pure bliss. Five years of waiting, desperately, for their family to start. Of course, their furbabies were their babies well, but they couldn't compare to the joy of Jayli. The record label was in good hands the past few days. Charlotta and her wife had been planning on the time off and arranged everything ahead of time. They still had a few more days of their vacation before they'd start work again, though they'd already made sure to rearrange their schedules going forward so that one of them could always be with the baby. They didn't plan on using any sort of babysitters for the first few months.
Today though, was a special day. Emrys, Charlotta's nephew, was stopping by. Ah, Emrys. Such a problem child. He'd been born when she was 15. She remembered holding his as a baby (though it hadn't been often, since his mother was from the Netherlands and she lived in Finland). He was also an artist at the label, and a constant headache. She loved him dearly, but he just had a knack for trouble. She'd told him, very clearly, that he'd get to come see the baby during the week if he didn't cause too much trouble (for once). Something that most didn't think he was capable of. To her surprise though, she hadn't found any scandalous tabloids about her nephew in a week. Had to be a record for him. So, she'd texted him that morning telling him he could come see his baby cousin.
CHarlotta and her wife had a house on the outskirts of a small muggle village named Timble, not to far from Leeds (where the record label was). IT was a nice, quiet place. Where they felt like they could raise their small family in peace but still wasn't too far from their work. Charlotta was working on fixing a bottle for the baby, her wife in the back, playing with the dogs, when there was a knock at the door. Setting the bottle down, Charlotta stepped away from the kitchen and headed to the front door. When she opened the door she smiled. "Emrys, come on in." she spoke in Finnish, her mother language and a second language for her nephew.

Emrys chose to life life in the moment, giving all his attention to the here and now. He only occasionally thought to the future, and the past was just that. He always knew what he wanted to do. He wanted to follow in his fathers foot prints, but do it his own way. His aunt had started a record label and helped him with his first demo. After seeing the promise that he held, her label picked him up. It had been a whirlwind since then, and he did his best to have fun when he could get it. Whenever he found his way into the tabloids, he could always expect a hearty lecture from his manager. He didn't always go looking for trouble, trouble often just found him, and encouraged less than idea behavior. Emrys just wanted to have fun.
Charlotta and her wife had taken a few days off while the acclimated to the newest addition to their lives. Before she left, she had plainly outlined her expectations. Don't cause "too much trouble" - whatever that meant - and he would be welcomed to their home to meet the new bundle. Now why on this earth would anyone actually want to have a child was beyond him. Now, his aunt had married her love since he was young, so the other women had always felt like apart of the family, but now they wanted a child.
Now, he was told to stay out of trouble. Did this mean that he didn't have fun for the past few days? No. That would have driven him insane, then there would be a real scandal on their hands. But he had successfully stayed out of the paper, and even kept from showing up on too many fan's feeds. It was possible. But it took work. Work in which he didn't always care to do. Why did he do it? Easy. He cared for Charlotta, even if he didn't always show it. He didn't her to receive a call at all hours of the night because of him. Both his aunts would have had enough with a new baby.
When he received the text, he had smiled, he had kept up with his antics, but he was just more cautious about not getting caught. The new little family lived in a quiet spot near a quite little muggle village. It all spelled one word to him B-O-A-R-I-N-G!! Emrys arrived at the little cottage, hearing the two dogs out, probably in the back, and knocked on the door. It wasn't long for the door to be opened. Taking time off did wonders for Charlotta. She looked good. He entered their dwelling. "Great place." he said, also in Finnish. "Got much sleep lately" He teased, giving his patented fanged grin. Most of his fans thought it was "adorable" or just plain "hot"

Charlotta had no doubt Emrys had gotten into quite a bit of trouble in the past week. No doubt at all. She knew him too well. No, he'd just simply managed not to get caught. Which, again, was still progress for him. Also, while he was always a handful she knew that he could "sort of" behave when it really mattered. Like now. When Charlotta and her wife were home with their baby. Finally feeling like real parents, midnight feedings and all. Babies were a lot of work, and would definitely run both women ragged. The last thing they needed was to worry about digging Emrys out of a hole he'd gotten into.
Emrys looked cocky as ever in the doorway, commenting on the cottage as he entered. She shut the door behind him, chuckling. "Plenty of room to grow, for less then half the price as the city." she answered strategically. It as cheaper to buy a place out here. Plus, being magical meant they could just apparate to the office, so living outside the city really didn't hinder them in that sense. Plus, she liked the quaint little village. In her lifestyle you didn't often get "quiet".
His tease about sleep made her laugh and she brushed her hair off her shoulders. "Less and less every night." But it was good. Nice to have Jayli home. Lack of sleep and all. "You have lunch yet? I was just fixing a bottle and there's Merimiespata in the oven. Should be done in half an hour."

Emrys had been "good" over the past week. And by "good" he had just simply kept his exploits on the down low. Keeping things out of the eyes of the press, and mostly off of social media was not easy. He also needed to make sure that no one at the label found out either. That was easy enough. His aunt was no fool. He knew that she knew that he had gotten into trouble while she was out of the office. They both knew it. He wouldn't try to convince her otherwise. He didn't lie to her. Unfortunately, this did prove that he was able to keep things out of the news and media. But that, in no way meant that he would.
The cottage was nice, but Emrys would be in a casket before he would be found living in a place like this. He was more than happy to pay the high rent for a nice place in the city. He could afford it, and he wasn't planning on retiring any time soon. Plus, he was a vampire now, he had a lot longer, and he had the talent, and the face to keep things going for years to come. "So, your planning on more?" He gave a shrug, to each their own he guessed. "Guess it's not bad, for you." Visiting was enough.
She laughed at his comment, and that made him smile. "Less and less every night." But she seemed happy about it. She then asked if he had eaten and he shook his head. "I had something to drink before I came, but I could eat." He had made sure to drink some blood before coming, those in this house were...lets say, off the menu. "So, where is the little monster." He said in a half sarcastic, half playful tone.

Emrys didn't know everything that went on behind the scenes with Charlotta and her wife. While he'd known they wanted children, he'd never been given the full details of everything they'd gone through to get Jayli. Being both women there were obvious... issues in having their own biological children. While a child only being biologically related to one of them wouldn't have been an issue, they'd ultimately decided that adoption was the best route for them. After making that decision, it had been a battle. Five years of dealing with adoption agencies, and birth mothers. They'd gotten close to adopting a child a few times in those five years, it had always fallen through. It had been very trying for both of them, and often made them wonder if they were making the right decision. After all of it though, now that they had Jayli, their worries had been put at ease. So, when he asked if they were planning on more, she laughed. "Maybe someday." They'd probably discuss it one day, when Jayli was older. The fact that they'd finally gotten one child was blessing enough. Dare they even hope for a second? "Just wait, Emrys, you may not understand now. But you will some day," she teased. He might never want the same things as her, but he'd understand. Because, let's be honest. He took after his father, her brother. Radford and Emrys were free spirits. Practically in the definition of the words in the dictionary. But even Radford had matured a bit and loved his unplanned children. And if Emry kept up with his antics? Well, she wouldn't be surprised if very soon she'd be dealing with an all new type of tabloid scandal...
Charlotta shook her head, rolling her eyes teasingly as he mentioned having a drink already. She was still rather annoyed with him for his impulsive decision to become a Vampire. Barely an adult and making decisions on his own. But, they'd already long exhausted that topic of disagreement. As he mentioned the "little monster" she laughed. "If you think she's a monster now just wait until she enters the terrible twos. I can only pray she doesn't take after her cousin." She winked, teasing her nephews just a little, though also the idea of Jayli being two was crazy. She was so small right now, but growing fast. "Come on, she's in the nursey." She motioned for him to follow, heading up the stairs to the cute nursey they'd put together. They'd painted it a soothing blue with yellow accents. Tastefully (but also child safely) decorated. Jayli was currently cooing in the basinet and Charlotta carefully scooped her up, supporting her head and making sure she as secure, before turning so that Emrys could meet one and only cousin (so far.). "Look, Jayli. Your crazy cousin has come to see you," she spoke softly, though again, couldn't help but tease her nephew just a bit more. While she was usually pretty hard on him it was purely from a business standpoint. Here, in her home? He was simply her nephew. Her very ridiculous nephew, who she loved dearly.

Emrys figured it hadn't been exactly easy to get their current small bundle of "joy." They had taken time off to adjust to their new responsibilities. But even after some time, they still wanted more, "someday." He shrugged, not entirely sure why, sure, babies were cute, but Emrys couldn't imagine himself ever having one himself. She said that he would understand some day and he chuckled. "Doubt it." Emrys knew the possibilities of an accidental child, he was one after all. Because of that, he was careful, in that since. He feared the time when something like that did happen, and hoped that if it was, it was simply because he was famous, not that it was actually his.
He mentioned having already drank, and saw the woman's reaction. He knew that she didn't like it. He hadn't told anyone about it until it was done. He was sure that she would have been first in line to stop him if she had known. But three days after graduation, it was done and she took him on regardless. There had many times that it was brought up, but what he had done was done now, there was nothing more that she could do about it now. He couldn't help but laugh as Charlotta mentioned her hope that the little Jayli didn't take after him. That would be double the handful. Emrys knew that he wasn't the easiest to manage, but he also wasn't going to be anyone but himself.
She motioned where the little bundle was and he smiled "You're the one who wanted her. Maybe I can show her how to have some fun." He said winking at his aunt and followed her through the house. He looked around the room, it had been well decorated, and he could see the time and love that went into it. As Charlotta turned to show him the baby, he smiled wide, his pointed fangs showing. While he never wanted a kid, he had to admit that this one was cute, especially with the thought of him never having to care for it. "Hey," He said, mimicking his aunts soft tone. "I'm going to be the one showing you all the things your moms don't want you to do." He said chuckling a little and winking at his aunt. He knew that she cared about him. She was like a mother to him. But he couldn't help but tease her a bit, especially after the "crazy cousin" comment.

Charlotta gave him a knowing look at his "doubt it". HE wouldn't be doubting it if he knocked up some girl. "That's probably what your father thought before you three," She commented. By three she meant her brother's three children. He'd fathered three children so far (and thankfully only three), which Emrys being the middle of the half siblings. Though it was rather... frustrating at he'd fathered the three children with three different mothers.
To be honest, Emrys hadn't been a bad child. She'd watched him grow up, baby sitting him when she was old enough, teaching him about music. That was what they'd bounded over. In many senses when he was born she' been like a big sister to him, and when she got older and married it had somehow switched to a more motherly role. Though, there were still times that she felt like a protective big sister to him instead of just his aunt. At least if Jayli did take after Emrys she already knew how to deal with her nephew and his antics. "You better not show her your type of fun," she scolded him. While he was quite childish, his "fun" was very R r rated and adult. She'd definitely have to make sure that he knew what was and wasn't age appropriate for babies....
Charlotta made a face at Emrys as he spoke and winked at her, confirming his taunting words. "At least wait until she's walking and talking," she answered jokingly. She wasn't actually worried about him doing anything inappropriate intentionally. Emrys wasn't a bad guy. While most thought him to be completely unruly and wild, Charlotta knew better. When it really mattered? He could be serious. "Now come on and hold out your arms. You're holding her right now because we both know you'll weasel out of all future opportunities." She'd never ask him to babysit or watch the baby. It simply wasn't Emrys' nature. "Plus, I promised your grandparents they'd get a picture of you two," Charlotta didn't see her parents, Emrys' grandparents, often. They were overjoyed at the idea of another grandchild (at last), and were no doubt excited at the new addition to the Holopainen family.

Emrys was careful with his activities. True, there was always a chance, but the last thing he wanted was for his fun to turn into one of those. He knew that was partly what had happened with his mother and father, by having him. But he wouldn't make the same mistake his old man did. He wouldn't settle down, ever. Charlotta did have a point though, but he was smart and had thought about that early in his intermingling life. Not that he would tell her. She'd pick it apart. It wasn't a good plan, but he had no intention of being a father. He simply shrugged at her comment.
Charlotta was someone that Emrys cared a lot about. That was saying something. He tended not to care too much about those who weren't around him regularly. Sure, he loved his parents and all his half siblings, but there was a separation, a distance to that love. Charlotta seemed to catch on and told him not to. He chuckled in a care free way. "Oh come on. Who else is going to give her her first cigarette or first beer." He'd let her discover her own sexuality, though he would definitely be there to help her through that too, not that the infants mother needed to know that. "When she's older, of cores."
He teased the woman more, and she seemed to give in a bit. She mentioned walking and talking and he nodded. "Sure, I got a few fun words I think she'd like to try out." He poked back. It was clear that he was going to be a bad influence on the child. But Charlotta already knew that. But he would still care for the kid, and wouldn't teach her anything harmful to her, just things that were all in good fun. He wasn't one who liked to show a serious side often. Few in his family had seen it, and even less outside.
All fun ended when Charlotta spoke again. His smile vanished, and he stepped away. "Um, no." He had no intention of holding a baby, ever. He had held some of his mothers children after him, but he was young, and seated. Holing a child wasn't something he was equipped for. What if he broke it? He bit his lip as she mentioned his grandparents. She had promised a picture of him holding a baby? How could she? The traitor. "Cant you just photoshop me in?" He knew enough about the muggle technology. And he couldn't stress more that he had no intention of holding the tiny creature.
