December 21, 2025 Sienna commented on how lovely she thought the ornament was, and Camila smiled a little. She made it sound like it was some great masterpiece, but Camila knew that it was the sentimental value of it that really mattered. "I'll hang it on my tree when I get home," Sienna assured her, adding that, that way, she would always remember who it was from. Camila knew how quickly people were likely to drift in and out of her life because of her fame, including people whom she had once held dear as friends from before she had become famous, but she sincerely hoped that Sienna wouldn't be one of them. Still, she giggled at the wink Sienna gave her—because the comment had only been in jest, after all. They eventually paid for their ornaments and went off in search of something else to do or—what was even more likely—something else to buy. "Oh," that reminds me," Sienna started, and Camila turned her head briefly to glance at her as they kept walking. "I didn’t realize I’d forgotten a gift until I started wrapping them. But there should be something here, no?" "Of course," Camila agreed, and certainly not all of it was as tacky as the Santa hats and reindeer noses. "Do you have an idea?" she wondered, looking around as Sienna did. There must have been something suitable there, and probably something that was also relatively unique; they were luckily in the right place for it. Sienna Aurélie Linslee

Si bit her lip as she considered the rows and rows of stalls at the Christmas market as Camila asked what sort of idea she had about the gift. “I’m not sure,” she admitted as the two girls continued to wander, following the path at a steady pace and weaving around other shoppers. Sienna usually had a very defined idea of what she wanted to get people – if not a specific item, then at least a general idea of the theme she wanted to capture. But some people were incredibly hard to shop for, either because they were private about what they enjoyed or because she just didn’t know them well enough for it yet. “I’ll know it when I see it,” Si said decisively after a few moments of silently contemplating the dilemma. She wrapped her arm around Camila’s and chose a new direction to walk through a section of the market they hadn’t explored yet. “It’s bizarre to think this party will be mixed,” Si thought out-loud, doing her best to stay as vague as possible since they were still in a Muggle part of Wales. “I mean, people like us and people like my parents,” she clarified, although she was sure Camila would understand. Those two parts of Si’s life had always been completely independent of each other – she had her Muggle life at home, during visits with her father, and then her magical life that had started with a letter from Beauxbatons. There had never been much crossover, except what little she told her father about her career (even Muggles could understand a little something about potions) and her friends. But now, there’d apparently be both Muggles and wizards at the royal ball – and that was a difficult thought to wrap her head around. Would there be tension? Open displays of magic? Or maybe everything would be fine, and she was just being overly cautious. But Camila was a good conversation partner for this sort of sensitive topic. She'd grown up with one foot in each world, and understood most of Si's Muggle references (unlike most wizards that never had any contact with non-magical folk). Si wasn't comfortable discussing her Muggleborn status with many people, but Camila had managed very quickly to show how trustworthy she was. camila calderón

December 21, 2025 Sienna said that she wasn't sure about what to get. There were plenty of options, and it was sort of overwhelming. She probably couldn't have gone wrong with a lot of things, thought Camila, which didn't really help to narrow down what it was that she wanted to get to give to someone. "I'll know it when I see it," she explained, beginning to walk with her through a part of the market that they hadn't yet had the opportunity to explore. Though it seemed fairly small, there was still plenty for them to check out. Camila, without any sort of Legilimency at her disposal, sipped at what was left of her hot chocolate and figured that she was just along for the ride.
"It's bizarre to think this party will be mixed," Sienna commented as they walked along. "I mean, people like us and people like my parents," she told her. Even her own father was non-magical, so Camila understood Sienna's point completely once she got past the vagueness of it.
"It is… different," Camila agreed, although she wasn't sure if that word alone captured how she felt about it. She was less concerned about the fact that there would be Muggles there than she was about how it would be for her as a magical celebrity in general. The Muggles wouldn't really be a bother to her, or she didn't think that they would be. They had no idea who she was, and that was what made it possible for her to walk down the street around her flat—or walk around a cute market—without the need for security or anything else. Obviously, the Statute of Secrecy wasn't in her hands, so she felt better because of that, too. With as many people as had been invited, her career wouldn't be on the line if something were to happen. "It will be okay," Camila considered, trying to think through what she was saying. Mentioning a word like "wand" so openly in a non-magical location seemed risky, so she had to choose her words even more carefully. "It will be some people, maybe," she thought, "in the government, or…" She didn't think that royalty would be so open to flaunt magical connections, just because of the press that they would receive for it, so she was hopeful that maybe it wasn't something that would be so extreme.

‘Different’ was certainly one way to put it. Sienna wasn’t important enough to be invited to many high-profile events, so she couldn’t really be sure if there was any precedence for such open mixing between wizards and Muggles. But she did know that on a day-to-day basis, the two worlds were heavily separated from each other – even more so in magical communities outside Europe. So the idea that there would be Muggles present in an event mostly dominated by wizards, and even that there could be open displays of magic (that would surely be sorted out with the Ministry beforehand) was bizarre to her. “I’m sure they’ve already worked out all the details,” Sienna agreed with Camila as the two girls began to wonder what the event might look like and who might be there. Still, she could see that Camila’s mind also seemed to be wandering slightly, and Si wondered what she was thinking about. So she gave Camila’s arm a squeeze and said, “We’ll have to make sure we find each other. I know Gus will want to take that new car of his, so we’ll see each other there. Rudolph nose and everything.” The last bit was said in a teasing tone as she nudged Camila. Somehow she didn’t think the musician would be able to get her agent to sign off on such an outrageous costume choice, but it was still a funny thought. Sienna allowed her gaze to travel over the Christmas market – the sky was starting to darken so all the lights had been turned on, and it was a different environment from earlier. It was less packed now as families started to go home, and the silence punctured by steady conversation and laughter made for a beautiful, calming environment. The kind of calm you didn’t really find in Diagon Alley. It was still a few days early, but Sienna sighed happily and said cheerily, “Merry Christmas, Camila.” camila calderón [End post Si!]

December 21, 2025 Sienna squeezed her arm as they discussed the upcoming ball and told her that they would have to find each other while they were there. Camila wouldn't have it any other way; it would definitely be a "princess" moment for Sienna, and she wanted to share that with her. "I know Gus will want to take that new car of his," Sienna added, "so we'll see each other there. Rudolph nose and everything."
Camila shook her head, laughing. Leave it to Auguste to skirt magical secrecy with something so flashy, she thought, though showing up to such a formal event with a costume nose was one way to ensure that she would end up on the front page of every publication from there to Argentina. She wasn't actually concerned about having that happen—or at least not for the wrong reasons. She knew better than to go for anything quite so daring.
As the sky above them grew darker, the stalls around them were turning on their lights. The hustle and bustle of it all seemed to fade away along with the remaining sunlight. It was even more charming than it had been before, in Camila's opinion, and she let out a small gasp as she took in the scene at the market. It was like a fairytale, and Camila smiled as she heard Sienna wishing her a merry Christmas.
"Merry Christmas," Camila echoed, looking at all the lights around them in awe.
