Eeva shouldn't be here. She knew it. Could feel it. As the ship approached the island. It was wrong. There was a knot in her stomach, growing tighter and tighter... Those feelings intensified the moment her feet touched the strange, red glittering sand... Wrong, twisted. All the color drained from her face, leaving her looking ashen. But she had to keep going. She was here for a reason. She had to see if this... this was the Wyrdness. The one from the stories. This feeling alone confirmed those thoughts.
She and another member of Heliopath, had been paired together. Different pairs were investigating different parts of the island. She and Levi were investigating the statues. The huge, monolith statues that were like sentries around the island.
From her spot on the beach she was about as close to the monolithic stone statue as possible (without being in a boat). She'd get closer eventually, but she wanted to check it out from a safe distance first. Though.. the feelings of wrongness were so.. so distracting. She crouched on the sand, her head between her knees as she took a shaky breath, trying to settle her churning stomach, but it didn't help. She raised her head, though stayed crouched there. No, she needed to focus on the mission. Somehow.

Levi had been sold the idea of Heliopath pretty easily from Rhys. There was a group out there actively working against the purifiers. A group who seemed to be made up of mostly those who believed in blood purity. Which was exactly they type people his family was. So even the better if he could work for a group that was against them. Once he joined, which was a pretty quick process, he got a little more background on what was going on. The mess of what really happened at the quidditch championship and so much more. He wasn’t exactly prepared for all that. He had mostly joined just to be a thorn in the side of the purifiers. Yet the more he did learn the more Levi felt he was actually doing the right thing.
Receiving information that he would be going to an island that recently just appeared out of nowhere was new to him. If that’s the mission that was handed down to him he would accept it. It would certainly make life more interesting it say the least. He wasn’t going alone either. A number of members were being sent to different parts of the island to investigate it. Levi felt all kind of emotions as the boat drew closer to the island. It certainly did seem off as other people had claimed and yet it didn’t at the same time. He didn’t have that same sense of disliking the island or intense rush of anxiety. This island while creepy and foreign looking didn’t feel like a bad place to him. He wasn’t sure if it was because he was just excited to be somewhere new or something more. Like it just felt familiar to him even if this was his first time seeing it.
Levi and another team member were tasked with investigating the many statues that boarded the island. One being nearby from where their boat docked. His partner for this, Eeva, was already at the beach looking toward the statue. It was a good distance away from the shore but the thing was big enough that it was still easy to make out. While walking closer toward her he kept being drawn to the curiously red sand. “How do you even get red sand... you know what, I probably don’t want to know how actually.” Levi asked himself, mostly thinking out loud. He didn’t think it involved blood. It was probably some weird magic and natural reaction. yet with this island he didn’t question the chances it could be blood related. Still he found himself less concerned about that than he probably should have been. “You doing okay?” He asked Eeva who was just crouched on the sand. He felt fine which given other people’s responses to this island was odd enough in its own right.

Eeva tied to focus on the statue in the water. Watching the waves beat against it. It had clearly once been an elaborate and huge piece, but time had erroded it. Leaving only remnants of waht might have been. Only the deepest of carvings remained. Those were where she kept her attention as she crouched there. Then, she glanced down at the dance and began to trace one of the shapes from the monolith into the sand. It reminded her of druid symbol, but which one? It was missing some key features. All she got from it was "ward". A ward for what? To keep something in, or out? To protect, or to repel? She stared at the symbol in the sand. Then, she heard foot steps. The other Heliopath member, Levi, approaching. He was muttering something about red sand, but personally, she didn't find it that odd. There were already variant sand colors in the known world. While an unusual color, different colored sand didn't really stand out to her. Though... it was quite fascinating.
As he asked if she was alright, she tilted her head to look at him. No doubt she looked awful. Redheads were naturally pale to begin with, but even she knew her current ashen skin tone was not. Her stomach still churned. Every fiber of her being felt like she was unwanted. Like everything wanted her gone. And the otherwordly unnatural nature... IT was unlike anything she'd felt and that alone made her want to throw up. When something was so wrong it just made you nauseous. "I'll manage," she answered. She had other things to focus on then how she as feeling (despite how hard it was to ignore.). She looked back down at the symbol she'd drawn in the sand. "I can see this symbol on it. It'd quite warn so I can't make it out fully. It's some kind of warding symbol. An old one. I've only seen something similar in old text and shrines."
