Sunshine filtered weakly through the cloud covered sky into the slanted windows of Felix's bedroom. He scrunched up his nose and kept his eyes closed, savouring the memory of the night before. His adoring exploration of every plane of Bianca's body, the softness of her skin, the curves of her lips. Every inch of her begged him for more, for the twining of their bodies to match the melding of their minds. For Felix had found something in Bianca that he hadn't dared hope for. She met his words with equal fervour, with knowledge and gumption to back up her rebuttals. Was it a trick of the universe for them to have come across one another? The universe that Felix claimed would swallow them whole one day, ending their existences without an errant thought towards whatever meaning they had contrived of their lives. But in the hours he had known Bianca, Felix had been forced to reevaluate his long-held beliefs that life was essentially meaningless. What else could he call their night together but meaningful?
Something buzzed nearby, and Felix opened his eyes. His head felt a bit fuzzy from all the drink the pair had consumed last night, but he knew that with or without it, the meeting of their two souls would have devolved into a meeting of two bodies. Felix felt around on the floor and found the cell phone Madeleine had given him. Madeleine. He was surprised to feel no pain at the thought of her, not even an ounce of regret. She had messaged him to say her flight had been pushed back due to bad weather. She wouldn't return until the next day now. Felix re-read the message, emotionless. He switched off the mobile and dumped it back on the floor. They would have to have a conversation at some point upon her return - he wouldn't mince words when he informed her that they weren't right for one another. How could they be when it was Bianca who had seen him so clearly, who had understood him in a way Madeleine never could? He held enough respect for Madeleine to speak to her in person when she returned from her holiday.
Felix rolled over to face Bianca, her black hair a stain on his unobtrusive bed linens. He watched the way her chest rose and fell with each inhale and exhale, the supple curve of her lips and the body he had spent the night exploring, learning every inch, filing away each moan of pleasure, each arch of her spine. His eyes rested on the scars on her side. He had noticed them last night, but had been too enthralled by their love making to bring them up. Even now, in the light of day, Felix did not wish to disturb her slumber to ask a painfully personal question. For he knew innately something about these scars ran more than skin deep.
Felix's fingers brush away an errant strand of hair marring Bianca's beautiful face. His fingers grazed her shoulder, a sudden urge to feel her skin on his overtaking him. He planted a soft trail of kisses in the wake of his finger tips, revelling in the slight spark he felt with each moment of pressure. Curious, thoughtful, a labyrinth that he was willing to brave. Bianca was much more than a stranger he had come across in a bar.

1 January 2026 Bianca found herself alone most of the time. In fact, she preferred it. She couldn’t live with anything less than absolute certainty, and people posed a puzzling conundrum in that there was nothing certain about them. You could spend years with someone, learning every pattern and habit and quirk of theirs, only for everything to change and collapse in a single moment. Bianca wasn’t interested in inviting that sort of chaos into her life – she had her stable, monochrome world, and she had found her fixed place in it. Opening yourself to someone meant opening yourself to the pain that would almost inevitably follow. There didn’t seem to be anything worth that, nothing it had to offer except trouble. Except even Bianca, alone by choice and never one to second-guess her decisions, could get lonely. She hadn’t gone to the Violet Hound with any intention except to waste an hour or two nursing a drink until she could ring in the new year alone in an empty apartment. Felix had been a surprise, an unexpected variable thrown into the equation. She hadn’t started that conversation with the expectation that it would lead anywhere, but there was something addicting about him. Felix spoke so differently from most people, who circled around meaningless small talk and polite conversation. He knew how to ask piercing questions that could cut to the heart of an issue, how to coax memories and intimate details out of her without prying or pushing. Even in the spaces between words, there had been nothing strange or unfamiliar about him – it was like looking into a reflection, one separated by only the barest inch of clear glass. There was no other way it could have ended. He knew how to unravel her slowly, and the minute Bianca had become enraptured by him it was a foregone conclusion. He was one of the few people who could match her level of intensity, spar with her in these heavy philosophical topics without giving an inch of ground. The rest of the bar had faded away until it was just him, and her, and them. Bianca hadn’t been seized by a moment in ages, but she allowed this moment to engulf her completely, to lose herself completely in Felix. Pressing herself close until every inch of them aligned, returning every kiss fiercely and eagerly to coax out every gasp and moan and sound of his. It was impossible not to succumb to him completely, nails digging possessively into his back and moaning into his neck as he touched her not as if she were fragile, but like she had value. Now, in that hazy area between being awake and asleep, Bianca became aware of a nearby source of warmth and instinctively shifted towards it. She stirred awake, eyes fluttering open as her gaze drifted down to take in the sight of Felix, bare skin glowing in the rays of sunlight. She gave a low hum of contentment at the irresistible pressure of his lips on her skin, bringing her fingertips to skim down his back and pull him back up towards her. Bianca kissed him slowly, languidly, a stark contrast to their burning kisses the night before. Then she pulled away slightly to murmur, “That’s a unique way to say good morning.” She shifted so she could press him into his mattress, propping herself up on an elbow to hover over him. Her lips found his ear as she continued in a teasingly low voice, “Unless that would only be assigning value to an otherwise meaningless morning.” Bianca hardly waited for him to respond before continuing her path downwards to kiss his neck. Though the daylight filtering through his windows roused him, Felix still felt like he was in a dream like trance. His fingers brushed the soft skin of Bianca's shoulders, his lips marking each spot as a reminder to revisit later. She stirred, and a smile curved on Felix's lips. Their bare limbs intertwined, her own tanned body moulding around his pale one. Her fingertips grazed his back, sending a shiver down his spine. Unimportant thoughts flitted through his mind, each less attention grabbing than the last. Bianca pulled Felix to her and kissed him, no less intense than any they had shared previously but without the rush and fervour of the night. It was slow and languid, and warmed him right to the tips of his toes.
"Good morning," said Felix, his voice husky with disuse. "Is that more usual?" he asked, pressing his lips to the hollow between her shoulder and throat before kissing her briefly on the lips. Bianca pressed him flat on his back, and arousal stirred within him. He swallowed thickly, sure that she knew exactly what she was doing to him. That husky voice in his ear, the purr of her voice eliciting the expected autonomous response. Felix chuckled breathlessly. "You've already made me eat my words, but that's not all..." he trailed off suggestively, his breath hitching as her lips made a path down his neck. Felix couldn't help but squirm, pleasure racing through his veins.
Felix twined his fingers through Bianca's dark hair, tilting her face so he could kiss her fully. He pulled away ever so slightly, appraising her. "Philosophical discussion aside, did you sleep alright?" Felix felt like something of a different person in the morning light. Like the events of last night led to a shift in his very soul, chipping away at the ice that surrounded his heart. Never before had he been able to connect with a stranger, let alone feel the wave of emotions that surged over him. Felix was one to dampen his feelings, to bottle things up and never show his hands. But Bianca pried this out of him, and reminded him that there was warmth in the world.
Pressing his lips to her forehead, Felix shifted beneath her. "Are you hungry?" he murmured, his stomach rumbling. As much as he wanted to stay in bed all day, it was not to be. He stretched, capturing her lips in one more kiss before throwing the sheet off him. He rose from the bed, pulling on a pair of pants. He glanced over his shoulder at the lounging Bianca, feeling a warmth spread across his chest that had nothing to do with the heating. "I'm afraid I'm not much of a chef, but I don't mess up toast," said Felix with a smirk, padding out of the room. Something sparkled on the hallway and curious, Felix went to investigate. It was a shattered picture frame, one that Madeleine had gotten him earlier this month. He discarded it on the table weeks ago, and had promptly forgotten about it. They were both smiling behind the broken glass, though Felix could see no warmth in either of their eyes. With a frown, he collected the remaining broken glass and binned it. It felt somewhat ironic that the shattered photo frame was indicative of that relationship.

Bianca smirked into his neck as she felt him swallow, although she pulled back slightly to appraise him more fully. There was something immensely satisfying about watching him react to her, feeling him shift under her and squirm as she teased him with a low voice in his ear. Warmth coiled inside her and Bianca felt herself flush in pleasure as Felix responded to her breathlessly before kissing her again. “Mmm, someone’s feeling clever today,” she murmured against his lips at his cheeky comment. Things looked different in the morning light, less rushed and urgent. Last night she’d been desperate to feel his hands on her and eliminate any hint of space between them. The atmosphere now was slow and lazy, although Bianca wasn’t quite ready to ground herself completely again. They were in the middle of a moment, nearing its end perhaps. But she wasn’t inclined to end it just yet. She searched his face at his question, expression settling into something that more closely resembled her typical serious demeanor. Bianca hated going to sleep, if only because it was the only time of day where her thoughts were completely unguarded and she had no control over her mind. It meant she suffered from nightmares often, memories from her darkest days in the field. Last night had been different. She couldn’t remember dreaming anything at all. “Better,” she replied succinctly. He’d proven that he had the ability to draw information out of her easily, guiding the conversation into topics she normally stayed far away from. But she couldn’t help the apprehensive feeling that it was only a matter of time until he asked about her scars, or her job, or even the subject of her brother again. So she continued in a softer tone, "That must be the first time you've ever said those words. Philosophical discussion aside." In a perfect world, she would have kept him in bed much longer – she was nowhere near finished. But her phone had been off since her decision to stop by the Violet Hound, and there was only so long she could ignore the outside world and the responsibilities her job entailed. So Bianca made a small noise of protest but didn’t stop Felix from leaving the bed. Instead she leaned back into the pillows and watched him stand, eyes raking down his body. “Don’t be so hard on yourself,” Bianca began with a slight smirk as she mimicked him and got up slowly to hunt for her underwear. “It can be devastatingly difficult to use a toaster. Most wizards can barely use their wands.” She didn’t pause to see his reaction, only making an amused sound before following the trail of clothing into the hallway to slip on her pants and blouse – although she couldn’t immediately find her bra. Felix had gone to investigate something in the hallway, but Bianca let her gaze trail over the rest of his apartment as she walked into the kitchen area. Her attention had been completely taken last night, but now she took in the clean lines of the furniture and the sunlight filtering through the windows. She toyed with her phone in her hand, although she didn’t immediately turn it on. A few more minutes of irresponsibility, she decided, setting it on the counter. FELIX CICERO TELLER

Felix let a throaty chuckle escape. She found the words when he could not. "It's a miracle I can even string together two words with you next to me, beautiful," said Felix, kissing the hollow between her shoulder and her throat. He wished this moment could stretch for forever, that biology and physiology and all the other ologies would cease to exist. But because the universe didn't listen to those who existed within it, Felix rose, kissing Bianca one last, lingering time before pulling on pants to go burn some toast.
After cleaning up the shattered glass in the hallway, Felix padded sleepily into the kitchen. He paused for a moment to appreciate just how stunning Bianca looked with her mussed hair, dark burning eyes and slightly flushed cheeks. He approached her, trying his best not to look like a beast stalking his prey. It would be very difficult for him to fight the primal urge blooming in his belly, though he managed the resist to pop two pieces of toast into the toaster. He turned to face Bianca, basking in the glow of her natural beauty.
Felix sauntered to Bianca, placing his hands firmly on her hips before lifting her onto the counter. He settled between her legs, his arms encircling her waist. Felix pressed a slow kiss to her lips, savouring her taste, the way her body moulded to his so effortlessly. So drunk on her presence, Felix could barely find the words to describe the absolute ecstasy he was feeling. Instead, he let his body do the talking, dipping his head to kiss a trail of breathless kisses from her lips down her centre. His mind was filled with her, her scent filtering through every sense. "You've got me at a loss for words, for the first time in my life," said Felix, smiling into his skin. An then, they didn't need to talk anymore, so buried in each other they were.

Bianca let her phone drop to the counter after choosing to give herself the luxury of a few more minutes offline. It was usually her primary focus in the morning – catching up on everything since leaving work. Emails, texts, breaking news. But Felix had walked into the room, and Bianca couldn’t take her eyes off his lean frame. She watched him with a heavy-lidded gaze first as he made his way to the toaster, then as he stalked towards her. With his pale skin, she could easily see his skin flush, in his cheeks and then creeping down his chest. Even with this new distance, she still itched to follow that blush with her lips and see where it went. Bianca’s expression didn’t change as he approached, but a sound of approval escaped her as he lifted her suddenly onto the counter. Her eyes flashed, and she didn’t hesitate to hook her fingers into his belt loops and pull him close. He kissed her slowly, and Bianca brought her hands up to dig into his shoulders as she deepened the kiss. She gave a low laugh at his words – he had proven to have a silver tongue. He dipped his head to kiss her neck and then lower, and there was a wicked look in her eyes as she weaved a hand through his hair and yanked in pleasure. “That’s alright-“ Bianca stopped to gasp and she let her head fall back as he kissed his way down her chest. One hand still tightly clutched his hair while she leaned back on the other to support her weight on the counter. She wrapped her legs around his hips so he wouldn’t dare move away, and her next words came out breathless. She had to fight back a moan. “There are much better things to be doing with your mouth.” (Fade to black cause…ya know} She needed to reevaluate her first impression of Felix. He had seemed…awkward. A deep thinker, someone who spent much of his time evaluating his role in the universe and the meaning of the human condition. But without many people to share those thoughts with. But he had shown an uncanny ability to unravel her, first with his words and then with his kisses. She couldn’t help but just let go as he whispered sweet nothings in her ear and she could do nothing but reciprocate and push him – harder, faster. Bianca didn’t often let herself indulge in non-work events. And something like this? Not since her father had died. But she’d needed it – she hadn’t realized how wound she was until she felt the pressure loosen. Bianca let out a low sigh as she let her head drop onto Felix’s shoulder. She kept her legs loosely wound around him, although her gaze eventually slid sideways to her still-dark phone. It had never been off this long before – her inbox must be overflowing at this point. She tore her gaze away and focused on Felix’s light, piercing eyes instead. “I believe you promised me breakfast,” Bianca murmured, “which was the only reason I let you leave bed to begin with.” FELIX CICERO TELLER

Felix had the distinct impression that he would never tire of this sort of company. He was drunk on her closeness, inebriated by her very breath. Release rolled through them both like a storm. Felix dropped his forehead to her shoulder, slick with sweat. He pressed a lingering kiss to the skin there, tasting salt on his lips. He brushed his lips along her neck, before capturing her mouth with his, kissing her deeply, fully. Felix dusted his fingers along her sides, raising goosebumps on her caramel skin.
They indulged in one another, kisses brimming with desire. Too soon, they had to separate. Felix grabbed a roll of kitchen towel and handed it to Bianca wordlessly, his body flushed with the pleasures in which they had lost themselves in. He gazed at the woman before him, his eyes bright with appreciation at the curve of her breast, the pucker of her lips, the curl over her night dark hair. He couldn’t resist her pull, and kissed her slowly once more.
Reality settled slowly upon them, and Bianca mentioned breakfast. Their primal needs fulfilled, his mind turned to food and found his stomach grumbling. He chuckled. ”I wouldn’t say breakfast - more of a cobbled together nourishment,” he replied, finally breaking free of the trance she’d put him under. He pulled a loaf of sliced bread out of a breadbox his sister had crafted for him, and popped a few pieces of toast. He turned his gaze back to Bianca. ”Do you prefer butter or jam? Or both?” asked Felix, retrieving both and placing them on the counter.
Felix hoped that Bianca had no plans to leave him today. He was coiled with energy, and there was only one release he wanted. He was distracted by the glimmer in her eye, drawn to her as if held by an invisible string. ”You are honestly impossible to resist, Miss Bianca,” said Felix, pressing his lips to the hollow under her ear. A burning smell drew Felix from his reverie, and he swore, swiftly turning his attention to the toast which was completely black. ”Bollocks. I told you this would happen,” said Felix sheepishly, binning the ruined toast and trying again. ”No distractions. This is hard, focused work,” said Felix, staring intently at the bread as it popped down into the toaster.
”Coffee?” asked Felix, trying to keep himself busy so he wouldn’t fall into the web of desire she was spinning with that sinful bare skin. He put the kettle on and poured coffee grounds into a cafetiere before turning to face Bianca. ”How is it that we’ve found ourselves here in this very moment?” asked Felix, remembering to pop the toast out before it burned. He’d not gotten so lucky last time.

Bianca felt completely unwound, a deep sense of satisfaction settling into her bones as she kept her legs loosely wrapped around Felix’s hips and her arms settled lazily around his neck. Bianca gasped softly at the sensation of his lips on her neck, and she couldn’t do much more than reciprocate languidly as he kissed her deeply, still basking in the warm afterglow. His warmth was intoxicating, and in the cool air of the kitchen Bianca kept him pressed against her as her eyes fluttered closed and she enjoyed their closeness and the feeling of his slow exhales on her skin. After depriving herself of the opportunity for so long, the combined experience of his wandering eyes and hands was almost too much, and she struggled to catch her breath even as she felt herself flush in pleasure at his attention. She took the roll wordlessly, although she exhaled slightly in amusement at his thoughtful gesture. He was gazing at her intently, and the intensity warmed her from the inside out. Her eyes trailed appreciatively over his lean frame and she found herself irresistibly drawn to the passion that fueled every look and movement of his. She exhaled slowly as he finally moved away to fiddle with the toaster, and began to clean herself up before sliding off the counter and onto shaky legs. She didn’t fully trust herself to speak yet, so she selected the jam wordlessly and slid it forward, a small smirk on her face as she took in the sight of his coiled muscles and restless movements. He closed the distance between them again and the faint ticking sound of the toaster faded away as Bianca tilted her neck back to allow him better access. Her lips eventually found his ear again as she gave a low chuckle. “As much as I enjoy the challenge…it might be time to stop trying to resist,” she suggested, nipping at his ear playfully before withdrawing at the smell of burnt toast. His words had lit a fire in her again, although he turned away before she could try anything. Bianca leaned against the counter as she considered the burnt toast with a wrinkled nose. “Maybe if my taste buds committed suicide first.” Her tone was unenthusiastic, although her eyes quickly rose to find Felix’s again and she gave a crooked half-smile at his firm ‘no distractions’ while he tried again with fresh bread. “Is that an order?” Bianca asked playfully, an underlying challenge in her tone. She walked past him, letting her fingers trail lightly over his back, although she didn’t pursue it any further, instead leaving to find his bathroom. By the time she returned, this round of toast looked more palatable and Bianca nodded slightly at the question about coffee. “God, yes,” she responded easily – she couldn’t function in the morning without a cup or two. She tilted her head as she considered his question, closing the distance between them so she could absent-mindedly trail her hand over his shoulder before answering carefully. “I suppose...people behave like particles. They choose the path they intend to follow, even if they can’t see more than the next step ahead. Just drifting in the emptiness, until they sometimes collide and share the same space for a little while.” FELIX CICERO TELLER

Bianca clung loosely to him, her skin sticky, her breaths uneven. Felix couldn't sate the hunger for her touch, his lips trailing over her shoulder before firmly landing on her lips. His tongue swept into her mouth, capturing her in a frozen moment, a heated kiss. He revelled in the oxymoron instance, wishing for the first time in his life that time would simply stand still. That the world would stop revolving around the sun, that the universe would hold its breath and allow Felix this one wish.
Felix's wish was regrettably not granted, and he was reminded of the chaotic nature of the universe. After all, it had brought two lonely strangers in a bar into this very moment. He exhaled sharply, pulling himself away from Bianca, dealing with the burnt toast and putting on a new one. He kept getting distracted by her siren call, his blood singing for her touch and rushing through his body. Felix sneaked a glance at Bianca, and his breath caught. There was something so perfect about her perched on his kitchen counter, stark naked with the midday sun glinting off her dark hair. She didn't notice his watching, focused instead on the choice between butter and jam. Felix moved swiftly to make coffee, offering her some.
Bianca disappeared, her fingers trailing along his back and leaving a fire in their wake. Her absence meant Felix had a moment to collect himself, to even out his breathing. He felt like perhaps he would spontaneously combust. He closed his eyes and swallowed thickly, trying to calm the frantic beating of his heart. He poured them both a cup of coffee, and took a tentative sip of his own. Burning hot and black - just the way he liked it. Felix leaned languidly against the kitchen counter, gazing thoughtfully out the kitchen window as he did so. The tree lined street was silent save for the whistle of wind. He mused over the decisions that led him here. The unexpected depth of their initial bond. The pure electricity of attraction between them. Thoughts of Madeleine had been whisked completely from his mind, not even a lingering sense of guilt left behind. It had felt inevitable, looking back on it now, that their relationship would never last. Whatever this was with Bianca, he wasn't sure. There was certainly a connection, a crackling burst of energy in each glance.
Felix pushed away those thoughts when Bianca returned to the room, a predatory grin spreading across his face. Bianca situated herself close to him and took the mug of coffee he offered, describing how people were like particles when he asked how they had gotten to this moment. She knew better than to mention anything to do with fate, something Felix vastly appreciated. He dropped a kiss onto her satin smooth shoulder, his lips grazing the side of her neck before lingering at the corner of her mouth. "And what of the opposite charges of particles? Of electrons and protons and neutrons - is there something drawing these particles together? Do some share space for longer than others?" he murmured. Felix's free hand found Bianca's winding their fingers together. "When the end comes, when the particles stop moving and settle into their forever spaces, if that ever were to happen, I will always be glad for this moment," said Felix. "Especially with the addition of coffee," he added, releasing Bianca's hand and stepping away slightly.

Bianca lingered close to Felix, savoring the warmth of his body and bringing her arms up to dig possessively into his shoulders. It was impossible to ignore the noise of the outside world for too long – her experiences had taught her that the higher one flew, the harder the crash when finally hitting the ground. She had never been a cautious person, but she was starting to become a fearful one. Always wary about what might be waiting around the corner, constantly vigilant for the next threat. There were few certainties in life, but she could always count on the next threat never lingering too far away. Once she might have seen the uncertainty of the future as exciting – what surprises were waiting to be discovered? How could she fight to make the world better? Now she only considered these questions with dread. So she was reluctant to part from anything that could make her forget about that, even for a short while. She hadn’t been expecting to encounter someone like Felix, least of all in such a random encounter like a bar party for New Year’s Eve. Bianca had never enjoyed Divination, choosing not to read into potential ‘signs’ from the universe or the calling of fate. But there were opportunities, crossroads that one encountered periodically without even realizing it. Ones that might divert the path only a little before returning to the original journey, and others that promised a significant, life-altering change. Bianca couldn’t be sure which Felix was, what he might represent. Whether it was the start of something, or the end. But she didn’t want to think about it now. “There’s something to be said about the attraction of opposite forces,” Bianca murmured against his lips, interrupting her own thought to indulge in the sensation. The last thing she might have expected from a one night stand was to gain a deeper understanding of the other person – but then again, that had come first. She couldn’t ever really tune out that bit of her that had been born and raised around Law Enforcement, and so she noted those details now. He had at least some non-magical background, and for all his cynicism about the universe he had put some time into thinking about the future. She exhaled slightly to ground herself back in the moment, glancing up at him from under her lashes as he asked if some particles share space for longer than others. Her lips quirked into a coy smile. “I think someone told me that it’s impossible to know what comes next. That there might be something amazing and meaningful waiting around the bend. I think I might take his advice and stop trying to predict the future.” He stepped away from her, and Bianca took a long sip of her coffee before setting the cup resolutely on the counter. Her phone could wait. The outside world could wait. Last night he had ignited something in her, a burning desire to lose herself to the moment and devour him. She had no intention of letting that go just yet. “As for right now…” Bianca trailed off, turning away from him to slowly glide to the other side of the kitchen, hips swaying slightly. She raised her arms above her to lightly stretch, turning slightly to glance at him over her shoulder and fix him with a dark gaze. She wasn’t blind, she knew the effect she could have when she chose to use it. And she wasn’t above using every tool in her arsenal to get what she wanted – which, at the moment, was entirely Felix. “I’m going back to bed. If you want me…come and get me.” FELIX CICERO TELLER [End post Bianca!]

There was a magnetic pull to Bianca, and Felix found himself unable to draw away. He mused about forces, dwelling on hypotheticals and could be's. And he felt silly at the same time, getting lost in his mind when this beautiful woman sat prone against him, her lips pressed against his, her breath hot on his skin. "I would say that he was a wise man, but I know he is not," murmured Felix, his lips trailing a tantalising line down the side of her neck. He drew her closer, wanting to taste every inch of her again and again.
But Felix stepped back, creating unwanted space between them. Bianca resolutely set her mug on the counter, and slunk off to the bedroom. His gaze was firmly fixed on the sway of her hips, the way she sashayed away from him. He nearly came undone at the look she shot him over her shoulder, his jaw dropping almost to the ground. She sauntered off back to the bedroom.
And who was Felix not to disobey a direct order?
