Late October 2025, just before Halloween
To say that Virva was nervous would be an extreme understatement. She was terrified. She'd been working on becoming an animagus and today was the moment she'd findo ut what her animal actually was. What if it was something... not-cool? Some animal that she could love to pieces but never really relate to as much as any other? What if she was tiny and got eaten?! What if she'd be a marine creature and would only be able to transform in the water? A thousand thoughts were racing through her mind as she stood out in the thunder storm that raged, her feet close to a secluded lake. She didn't really want to scary anybody so she'd sought out a private spot. It was almost time for Samhain and while she was excited to go home she was nervous since she'd told her family she'd been working on her becoming an animagi. What if she had to fess up to being something totally uncool? Like a snail? Nobody would ever take her seriously again after that.
Still, she wasn't going to turn back now. She was fierce and a fighter, she'd proven that time and time again. No matter what it was, she'd take it in stride and see what nature brought her. She smiled slightly, she loved everything nature so even if it was a snail it was her and it was what mother nature had given her. She'd take pride in it if that is what it took. She'd complete the transformation today. Thunder rumbled and lightning crashed and Virva laughed as she spread her arms for moment, enjoying the cool touch of the rain. This was the moment of truth, and she was no longer afraid. She counted five heartbeats to calm herself down and on the sixth she drank the potion. On the seventh she put the tip of her spoon to her heart and said the by now well known incantation. "Amato Animo Animato Animagus."
The pain was impossible to describe, but she had known it would be. Her entire body was taking on a new shape and it wasn't used to that yet. She breathed in deeply, trying to stay calm but she flinched regardless, feeling like her heart was blowing up while all her muscles were stretched far beyond their comfort and her bones were breaking and growing back in different ways. She was vaguely aware of a pair of wings sprouting from her back as her arms and legs transformed into scaly limbs. She roared and was surprised at the amount of sound that escaped her mouth in this new shape. What creature was she even? Why did the world seem so small?
She experimentally shook her wings out and with one powerful sweep took off up into the air, only to see her reflection in the distorted rippled lake below her clawed feet. This was.... something new. She was a dragon? Almost unwilling to believe it (since it was clearly impossible) she conjured up flames and softly out into the sky, shooting a column of searing hot blue flames into the air. Well, guess it was good she'd chosen a very private place to transform. Nobody back home was going to believe this.
