May, 20th 2025 (Note was included with usual order from Alderton's Bakery & Sweets) Hey, I noticed you didn't place your typical order for the past week. Might seem weird but I'm just used to how regular the deliveries were till now. I hope everything is okay. Especially with all this Hag's fever stuff going on. If that is the case, get well soon. If not and you just didn't feel like ordering anything... I'll feel silly. Either way. This one's on me. Stay safe.

Hello!
Thank you so much for the card! My aunt brought it over to the hospital along with the care package. I was unlucky enough to get hags fever but I'm still fighting! It might be a while before I can order again, but I hope I'll recover soon! Thank you again, your shop is the best in the world. I can't wait to taste your pastries again, but my aunt says I can't order until I'm healthy again.
Kind regards,
Juliet

Glad to hear from you but sorry to hear about the Hag’s fever. I hope you recover quickly and that’s not just so you can order again, haha. I’ve heard all kinds of things about Hag’s fever and none of it sounds like something anyone should have to deal with. Take all the time you need to heal and order again whenever you’re ready. We appreciate how you feel about the bakery. We’ll be here when ever your feeling better. Granted, our bakery was named our owners ancestor who blew up most of a town trying to make a cake. Luckily I do most of the baking now since I was hired. So that’s nothing to worry about, we’ll be here when you’re all better.
Well wishes, -Jacob Kowalski

Hey Jacob!
I am finally back yo ordering again! I'm sorry I couldn't write or give updates for so long. Fever hit me hard I'm afraid but I've been released (finally) so my aunt is allowing me an extra large order to celebrate! Any advice on the cake I should go for?
Love,
Jules

Hey Juliet!
No reason to apologize. You had better things to do, like heal. That's obviously more important than sweets. (Well, just a little more important but I've been told I have a problem.) I'm just glad to hear you are doing better. As far as recommendations for cakes, we have a lovely triple chocolate cake. I'm also a chocoholic so that's just my opinion. If you're looking for something else there is an amazing strawberry cheesecake too.
sincerely,
Jacob Kowalski

Jacob,
Triple chocolate?! No doubt on what I'm going to nag my aunt for. While I'm sure the strawberry cheesecake is delightful nothing really beats chocolate, let alone triple! I'm in heaven at the idea.
It's a shame I can't pick it up myself. One day I'll come to the shop to see all the products! For now I'm afraid I'll have to order it in. Hey, do you have any other recommendations of things I haven't tried yet but really should?
Sincerely,
Juliet

Juliet,
I don’t blame you one bit, chocolate is probably what kept me baking in the beginning. So here I am now, a professional bakery because of my chocolate addiction. I tell my family at least there are worse thing I could have been addicted too.
Hey, don’t rush yourself. You just got out of the hospital. I’m more than happy to continue deliveries. As far as other things to try. We have plenty of other pastries and sweets. There is something else though.... I have been experimenting with something and they have turned out very well. If you’d like to try. Experimenting makes it sound weird, sorry. It’s just baked goods that also have the person who eats them experience a certain emotion. It’s finding the right balance between the potion and baking mix for it to be good. I’ve gotten happy and calm/content to work well so far. nothing else had really panned just yet.
Sincerely,
Jacob

Jacob,
I totally agree! There are far worse things one can be addicted to besides chocolate. I think I'm driving my aunt crazy though, since this is like the third time this week I've asked for new parchment. I still have enough ink luckily. I tend to write a lot since my sickness keeps me confined to the house most of the time. I'm lucky that I now also have you to write to! I love getting letters from you, since they always make me smile. Not to mention any other chocolate fanatic is a good person to know. If I ever doubt which cake to eat you'll be the first I ask!
I would love to try emotion food! Although you should really be careful with 'bliss' as an emotion! I saw an episode on a muggle TV show once where everybody got like addicted to bliss and died because they were so blissful they pretty much couldn't function any longer. Like just forgot to do anything at all, including eating! It was kind of creepy! The entire unaffected part of the city was like quarantined below ground for so many years! We probably want to avoid a scenario like that, although a dose of happy could be fun to try! I mean, love potions work, why not other emotions? I think it's like a super cool idea! Think there could be like a confidence thing? That could be so useful!
Sincerely,
Julie

Juliet, Exactly! Should I send my letters with an extra blank sheet just for you to write on? Haha. Personally I use a No-maj style pen. I’ve spilled my ink enough times that it just saves me from cleaning up future messes. It’s also easier to write orders with and not have to track down the ink as well. I’m glad I could be there for you and I enjoy getting letters from you as well. It’s not often I find someone who wants to talk about baked goods for this long. Haha. Feel free to write me anytime, personally I’m better on paper than in real life. I’d have to watch out for that but it’s not a strong enough effect to cause something like. Just a passing emotion while eating and little after but it fades pretty quickly. Also it doesn’t stop other emotions, if something bad enough happened it would still outweighs the effects of feeling happy. I would have to make sure people don’t feel like they need to keep eating it though. Confidence might be possible but I haven’t found anything that works well when mixed with any baked goods yet. It’s hard to find the right mixture where the potion will still work but won’t ruin the food either. It’s a nice little project to keep me busy. But yes, confidence working out would indeed be useful. Sincerely, Jacob.

Dear Jacob,
I'd love extra paper! But you use muggle supplies? That is so cool! My aunt is very oldfashioned so she doesn't like that stuff. I had to beg for months and months before I finally got her to buy me a phone and computer but I've had those for years. She was delighted to be able to replace them with magical computers since the muggle one kept breaking down. We kept it in a separate room and still had to bring it to the repair shop constantly. It drove her mad.
Who would not want to talk about pastries and baking? Wait... it might make you hungry so perhaps not during thise times. Otherwise I'll talk about pastries and baked goods any day! Nothing beats freshly baked bread. With the right kind of bread I'd eat it without anything on it. Just so delicious.
Oh yeah, it would be bad if that stuff gets addicting. Imagine people that keep getting like a happy high! It's probably good for sales though. If you need a test person I'd be willing to help out! I'm no good at baking but I can design buildings. Nit that it would help much unless you'd want to build a new store. I could in theory design that.
At least if we'd have confidence cupcakes or cookies we'd find talking easier I imagine. I'm totally shy in real life. I'm just too awkward.
Sincerely,
Julie

Juliet,
Yeah, it just makes life a little easier. Pens keep all the ink inside so there is only a spill if the pen busts open. It's pretty handy. My Grandfather on my father's was a No-maj. So he was used to No-maj stuff and so am I, I suppose. I don't have a computer yet, just the Magical phone that came out. I spend more time baking or cooking than with tech like that so it would probably go to waste for me.
Exactly! If you ever get sick of talking about it, you can always just eat some instead. Haha. It's a wonder I'm not the size of a house with how much I sneak while baking at the shop. I guess I'm just used to it at this point.
I'll keep that in mind, I do want to open my own shop one day but that is a long way off. Still, if the day ever comes I might as you to design it. Free snacks anytime you want if you do.
No, I totally understand that. I'm much the same way. It's probably why I always hid in the Ilvermorny and then the Hogwarts kitchens most days. The house-elves got sick of me but that couldn't kick me out.

Jacob,
Can I order pens with my next order? I'll pay! I googled but none of the stores deliver to our adress. Pens look fantastic though. You're lucky with the muggles in the family too! My family is all about the magic and all that, or at least the ones I know. My siblings are more open to technology for a part though, which is nice.
I mean, talking about food will never be quite as good as eating it but if I spent all that time eating sweets I'd be more than twice my current size within the month! I think the right balance should be maintained between talking about food and sweets and actually eating them. Though I'll always be available as taste tester!
Oh, I don't need the temptation of free snacks added on top of getting to design a building! I usually have to do a lot of finetuning since I'm still very low on the ladder within the company now. It makes sense since I'm still very new at it of course but that only makes the opportunity to design an actual building that'll be built more tempting.
Ugh, I wish I could have gone to school! Tell me what the building was like? I love hearing about that sort of stuff! Or just the kitchens! I always imagine everything to be way grand and magnificent. Like, oldfashioned glory or something? I don't know, I just dream of buildings like that. Imagine getting to design a school, now that would be a dream! Especially with like secret passage ways and all of that. The dream!
Love, Juliet.

June 24rd, 2025 Really? They are just about everywhere but I suppose if you a magical home it might not show up to muggle stores. I’ll send you a couple with this letter... which you should have already found. Haha, sorry, that’s kind of obvious now. Yeah, my grandfather was a muggle, we called them No-Maj’s back in America. So my grandmother had some pretty interesting stories from then. Apparently it was a big deal for a witch and muggle to be together back then in America. Even with some muggle bits in my family, mine still hasn’t attempted to use to much tech. I’ve slowly gotten the hang of the cellphone thingy but that’s about it. Haha, yeah I can understand that. You need to find the right balance. Too much of a good thing and all that. You’ll get there one day. Everyone has to start off somewhere. I spent much of my time learning to bake just from handing my grandmother ingredients or utensils. Hopefully you’ll be off designing large buildings of your own in no time. That way I can request you to design it. Why couldn’t you go to school? If you don’t mind me asking. I went to Ilvermorny for most of my schooling. Only came to Hogwarts for my seventh year. Both are these immense castles. Hogwarts had moving stair cases, which was honestly more a pain than anything else. I didn’t have much time to find any secret passages. I spent much of my free time hiding away in the kitchens. The house elves didn’t seem to like the company but they couldn’t tell me to leave. So they just kind of dealt with it in a very passive aggressive way. Either way both were very old fashioned. Ilvermorny was kind of modeled after Hogwarts so it makes sense they would be similar. sincerely, Jacob

Yeah it's a magical home. It's too bad, I would totally love to hang out with muggles more! I'd probably give myself away within like 10 minutes so I'm trying very hard to act muggle on the internet. It's a bit of a challenge but I've got the basics down, I think. I just feel like we do so many things differently that I mostly miss the things they never talk about because they consider them very normal, you know? Like using pens in stead of quills!
I'm kind of glad it's not a huge deal here to have muggles (or No-Majs?) and wizards or witches dating. Not that I personally know anybody that dated a muggle... I know some muggleborns though, if that counts for anything? My aunt isn't very pleased about my interest in technology though. I can also work with the cellphone though! That wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, although I think I use about half the possible functions on the thing. It's for calling and texting mostly, although it supposedly can do a lot more than that. Go on the internet too and stuff? It's so advanced... but at the same time not? You can't play any complicated games on it.
Even if I don't make it big you can always ask me anyway! I'll always do my best. I like trying out new things and actually played around with a bakery a little bit. I'm mostly concerned with the logistics. I don't know how much walking there is or if there are any extra rules that come with baking things? Or like, is there anything about not placing the oven and fridge next to each other? I can't imagine that is very handy to begin with but that sort of information should help design a bakery right? It has to be functional above all else.
Oh I have a disease that made going to school too much of a risk. I can get very sick from something as simple as a common cold, which is why the hags fever was such a big and long lasting problem for me. I'm still recovering but at least I can do that from home. I'm hoping my aunt will let me out of the house to work again by the end of the month, although I doubt she's keen on the idea. It made me very interested in the big buildings though. I would have loved to roam the halls of old castles and just.. see them in use, you know? It sounds amazing! So there is a no on moving staircases for the bakery? Wait, should a bakery have more than one floor to begin with? How big should a bakery even be? Or like, did you plan to have a huge bakery rather than a regular one? What did you like most about both of your schools? You're lucky that you got to see two of those types of buildings! I'm totally envious right now!
Love,
Julie.
