HARRY JAMES POTTER
HARRY JAMES POTTER
James still felt uneasy about this plan. It was asking a lot of a person. Though he hadn’t ever doubted the Karkaroffs in their intentions as some others might, he was still wary. If you had asked him a few years before, he would have never doubted someone’s loyalty or promises, but the world had taught him to not be so naïve. James found it hard to think that way. Promises were important to him, and stepping off the promised path was not in his character. His father conceded his point but also stressed that they didn’t have a lot of options either. ”Who else knows?” James asked tentatively, wondering if Harry would tell him.
Still, he didn’t know the Karkaroffs all that well aside from small interactions at the Ministry or in meetings. Anastasia wasn’t one to speak more than needed and James, being very aware of her dueling abilities, maintained a careful distance. Albus always told him that running his mouth would get him in trouble one day, and he’d rather not be on the receiving end of a hex from an Interpol agent’s wand. They were both taken from their individual thoughts when they ran into other people, which wasn’t unusual, but Salt seemed displeased.
James didn’t know what Harry was looking at, but there was a slight air of paranoia. Looking back, he stepped around some uneven ground while the subject was changed. ”She’s doing well. Working about as much as I am these days.” James admitted. That was the downside of graduating, he figured. Irregular schedules and limited time together, but they seemed to manage it. Despite her name and what people may assume, she cared greatly for those close to her. Something that James admired. Like a sort of bright light when darkness kept trying to push in.
