Late January 2026 Not wanting to interfere with any other plans that Sienna might have had to celebrate her birthday, Camila had given her friend enough time to get back to her and ensure that she could take time away from her work at the apothecary before finalizing her plans for Sienna's birthday present from her. She didn't doubt that Auguste would do something incredible, but there was only so much that Camila could think to give Sienna when it came to material things. Besides, she had gotten an idea, and the timing for it seemed absolutely perfect.
Presenting Sienna with the trip itself, she hadn't actually divulged where they were going until the last minute. Without the restrictions that had been in place months prior, it would be significantly easier, though, to take Sienna somewhere that she hopefully hadn't been before. Still, Camila was nervous about it, though that might also have been because of how soon her tour was scheduled to start. It was one thing to take Sienna to Argentina; in the back of her mind, however, she could imagine what it would be like to bring Ilija there.
Back home, it wasn't as though her fame was a secret, but she had been able to keep her life in Argentina relatively compartmentalized from her life in London. London was only ever meant to be a temporary thing; she wasn't meant to be there for as long as she had been at that point, even, but Camila was becoming more and more certain that she wanted to try and remain there, if she could. She couldn't see herself returning home more permanently and cutting herself off from the life that she had started to build for herself so far away. It was hard, but she wanted to see if she could have that conversation with her parents while she was there, too.
That wasn't something that she was going to drag Sienna into, though. The benefit of being in Argentina was that they could see and do things that they couldn't anywhere else on the planet. While time at her parents' house was cozy, that wasn't entirely what they were there for, and Camila had carefully crafted an itinerary of things that Sienna absolutely had to see and do with the limited time they had.
The first on that list was Iguazú Falls, positioned between Argentina and Brazil, with the latter's being the third closest country to her heart because of Castelobruxo. The waterfalls were sure to be like nothing Sienna had seen in her life; they were massive and truly unique in the world, a spectacle of nature on the border between two countries. With its being summertime in Argentina, rather than as cold as it was back in Britain, it would be green and lush, and the fact that it was a non-magical attraction meant that Camila didn't need to worry about Polyjuice Potion or a security detail.
For the sake of convenience, though, she had arranged for a Portkey to take her and Sienna from Córdoba to near to the entrance to Iguazú National Park, from where they had been able to board a train through the park and to the falls. Though there were plenty of other people who had had the same idea, it wasn't at all a tourist trap. Still, Camila had to wonder what Sienna thought about it all. Knowing that they were soon to arrive to the main reason they were there, Camila glanced over to her. "Ready?" she asked her, already grinning. Sienna might have had a little taste of Argentina already, but that was nothing.

Late January 2026 It was bizarre to think Hag’s Fever had swept through the British Isles only half a year ago, if only because it had completely fallen off everyone’s radar since. To be fair, from what little Sienna knew about the disease, it hadn’t been fatal or even anything besides an annoying inconvenience to its unlucky victims. Really, the biggest concern from the Ministry of Magic had been the potential accidental breaches of the Statute of Secrecy, leading to the mandatory quarantine and lockdown they had only recently begun to lift. Having caught the Fever in June – the first time in Si’s life that she’d gotten sick in the summer – the idea of spending a few weeks in St. Mungo’s hadn’t sounded appealing. It really wasn’t the vacation it sounded like, what with the unfortunate symptoms and the way they’d lingered for weeks. But sneezing fire had been worth it to meet Camila! The pair had instantly clicked, despite the language barrier between them. And, as they spent more time together – over the summer, Halloween, and Christmas – it became obvious that they were definitely going to become close friends. Best friends, if Si had anything to say about it! Sienna knew from enough time spent around Gus that celebrities could have a hard time forming real and meaningful connections with people. Meeting fans was all well and good (everybody loved to feel appreciated), but those were usually only surface-level interactions. Most people tended to assume that a celebrity’s public image was the only thing that existed, and so despite all that fame…it could be very easy to feel alone at times. So while attending Camila’s last concert after it had been rescheduled had been an amazing experience – especially after being quarantined in St. Mungo’s for two weeks – Si tended to value their one-on-one time more. Finding that right kind of environment where Camila could just feel like herself, and didn’t need to worry about being watched or followed. Sienna was also an incredibly private person, and after the last several months of getting a new kind of attention as Gus’s girlfriend…she had also learned to appreciate the times where she could just act like herself without worrying what the rest of the world thought about it. Camila had been acting mysterious the last couple weeks about a trip for Si’s birthday, and after waiting in anticipation for so long Si was dying to know what the pop star had planned. Although waiting had been torture – well, she still appreciated the thoughtfulness of waiting because Sienna had wanted to spend her actual birthday with Gus. It had become something of a tradition over the years, and after the chaos of the Christmas ball…Sienna wanted something normal, familiar to lighten the tension of that experience. He hadn’t done anything wrong – his fame was a byproduct of him pursuing his passion, and he deserved it – but…they hadn’t been on the same page about what the change in their dynamic would mean. And something had changed. All that was left was figuring out how to get through it together. So yes. Sienna needed a vacation. She’d given a gasp of delight when Camila finally revealed the destination – Argentina! When Si had never even left Europe before! That fact made the destination interesting enough, but the fact that it was also Camila’s home country was intriguing. Si had started to get hints of who Camila had been before deciding to pursue her career in music, but hopefully this trip could shed more light on her past too. Their first stop was some sort of national park whose name Sienna couldn’t even come close to pronouncing, so she just nodded sagely as Camila explained all the different stops. Magical transportation continued to blow Sienna’s mind as they made the trip from the UK to Argentina – a trip that, by Muggle standards, should have taken over a day of solid flying – and as they made their way to the entrance, Si tried her best not to look too dazzled. And, well…failed. “This is amazing,” she gasped as she turned in a slow circle. Because she knew Argentina was beautiful, but she hadn’t been prepared for how beautiful – and natural – everything would be. “Just…explain to me again where we are,” she said in awe, eyes wide as she tried to take in everything at once. camila calderón

Late January 2026 Camila had had no reservations about bringing Sienna to visit her home country. She knew that it wouldn't be like what she was used to, necessarily, but that was part of the appeal. It was different, but it wasn't anything that she worried might push Sienna too far outside of her comfort zone. In fact, Sienna seemed to be taking in absolutely everything, and Camila thought that she looked positively awestruck by the scenery.
"Just… explain to me again where we are," Sienna told her, obviously trying to take it all in. The national park must have been like nothing she had seen before, Camila realized. Being used to Castelobruxo's location in the Amazon, it felt more normal to her… but fortunately without the Caipora that had guarded her former school in the Amazon.
"Iguazú." Camila told her, trying to enunciate the name more clearly for Sienna. "It is in the border of Argentina and Brazil," she said. And then Paraguay wasn't far away from where they were, either, but she didn't want to spoil the full effect of what they would be seeing there. Going through the trees and the greenery by train was beautiful, but it wasn't all there was.
As they made their way out of the train station at their destination, la Garganta del Diablo, Camila laughed softly, realizing that the meaning of the name of the place to which they arrived would be amusing to Sienna. "This place, it is called the throat of the devil," she explained to her, though not in an ominous sense. "You will understand," she added assuredly, guiding Sienna out towards the waterfalls.

Europe was beautiful, in Sienna’s opinion. Each city had its own unique character, and she’d spent enough time traveling through most of them that she thought she had a good grasp of what the continent had to offer. But she had never seen anything as wild or natural as Iguazú, the sheer amount of green that surrounded them as they traveled farther and farther away from any noticeable signs of civilization. There were no tight roads or old ruins here, only an abundance of wild, untamed nature. Sienna admired the bright flowers as they passed by on a well-carved trail, although she was wary about touching anything. Who knew what kind of exotic animals or plants there were in Latin America that could be dangerous? She’d never paid too close attention in Care of Magical Creatures or Herbology to know the answer to that question. She listened carefully to Camila’s explanation, nodding idly even as the scenery captured most of her attention. Si laughed slightly at the name of the part of the park they were in. “The devil’s throat?” she repeated, smiling in confusion at the name. “Why would they call it something odd like…that…” Si found herself trailing off as she followed her friend out past the dense jungle into a more open space, and her mouth dropped open. Because there was no way they were where she thought they were. Her eyes must be playing a trick, or maybe this was a particularly complicated piece of magic – it was the only explanation. There was absolutely no chance that something this beautiful and big could exist naturally. “Oh my god,” Si said in shock as she took in the sight of the seemingly endless waterfalls. It was louder than she’d anticipated – really, how hadn’t she heard this earlier? She turned to face Camila. “You’ve been holding out on me,” she said accusingly, although her tone was undermined by the delight in her eyes. camila calderón

Late January 2026 Back when she had been a student at Castelobruxo, Herbology had been one of the primary subjects of emphasis in the curriculum. Particularly given Castelobruxo's location in the Amazon, it made sense, though she had never been exceptional at any of it. It was sort of funny, in hindsight, but Camila guessed that half of it was that she had had to study the subject instead of just enjoying the natural world without having to think about the properties of plants and if she had to handle them in any particular way.
Iguazú was different, and Camila hoped that Sienna was genuinely enjoying herself there. It was hard not to ruin the biggest surprise, not that it was that much of a surprise if one was totally aware of where they were. Mentioning a waterfall was one thing; it was something else to see the falls in all their magnificence. Though Sienna asked her why the location had the name it did, Camila felt that it would be better for her to see for herself and held off on answering as Sienna's voice trailed.
Literally, Sienna's jaw dropped, and Camila thought for a moment that she might have to pick it up off the ground. She continued to say nothing as she watched Sienna's reaction, smiling at her friend's amazement.
"You’ve been holding out on me," Sienna told her. Camila wasn't completely sure what Sienna meant by that expression, but she shook her head and laughed. It hadn't been malicious; it was just that some things were better seen for oneself.
Quickly, Camila pulled out her mobile phone to capture the moment on video, focusing the camera on Sienna. "Welcome to Argentina!" Camila beamed, trying to project her voice over the sound of the rushing water before panning over to the scenery. Truly, Iguazú was only a small portion of what her country had to offer. There was Córdoba, of course, though Sienna had already seen her hometown. There was no way that they could see everything to the fullest in such a short amount of time, even with Apparition, but it was a taste of where she had come from. This was Carmen's world, she thought, rather than Camila's.
She stopped the first video, taking another of the falls and then changing the camera's view so that she was pictured on the screen. "Hi, Ili!" she smiled brightly to the camera, still having to project her voice so that it would be audible when she sent it to him. "We are at Iguazú Falls here in Argentina. I miss youuuuuu!" She would be back in London before very long, but she knew that it would be even harder when her tour began and she would have to be in a new city every few days. At least she wouldn't be halfway across the world then.
Not wanting to put a damper on anything for Sienna because she was now the one seeing someone, Camila saved the video to her phone and hastily sent it off to Ilija, looking back to Sienna as she did. "Sorry," she apologized, feeling guilty about it. She didn't know how long it would be before she would get to bring him to Argentina, too. "I will stop."

Sienna was momentarily blown away by the sheer size and beauty of the waterfalls around the pair, and it drove everything else out of her mind. Truly, it was hard to conceptualize that something so big and wild and natural existed, at least coming from Europe where everything was quite small and cramped. The continent had history, no doubt, and was a hub for magical and non-magical enthusiasts alike – but, she thought idly, there was nothing remotely comparable to this. If there was one thing she was going to take away from this, one memory that would stay with her forever, it was just how big and beautiful the falls were. Loud, too – it was almost impossible to think with the roaring of the water filling her ears and chest. Like one loud heartbeat synchronizing her and Camila with all the living beings that called Iguazú their home. After a few stunned moments of taking the landscape in, Si turned to notice Camila recording her initial reaction to seeing the falls for the first time. She gave a giggle and winked for the camera, giving a small wave before the scenery invariably captured her gaze once again. “Oh!” Si gasped as she remembered that she had also brought her phone, and fumbled to take it out quickly and snap a few pictures. She recorded one short clip of the nearest waterfall, gallons and gallons of water pouring furiously from the top, then took a selfie with as much of the background visible as possible. It wasn’t easy – not with such a wide and expansive view – so Sienna spent the first few moments changing the angle of the shot until she was satisfied. Then she spun quickly to see where Camila had wandered off to so they could take a few pictures together. Her smile faltered as she realized Camila was recording a video to send to her boyfriend. One of the benefits of this trip to Argentina, besides the fact that Si was getting a new look into Camila’s world and where she came from, was that it became hard to remember all your problems when you were several thousand kilometers away from London. The breakup with Gus still weighed heavily on her mind, and it felt too fresh to even begin to pretend she was over it. But she and Camila had become good friends, and Camila had always been there for Sienna in every stage of her relationship – as it had started, gone strong, faltered, and then ended. So it seemed unfair, and a little selfish, to insist that Camila pretend that she didn't have a good thing going, something that made her happy. As much as thinking about Gus still stung, Sienna was still so excited for Camila. And that was part of being a good friend too, right? So she swallowed and smiled again, and had to raise her voice slightly to be heard over the sound of the waterfalls. “Don’t say sorry!” she insisted. “I’m really happy for you. Honestly! Although I need to hear a little more about this guy too. Who exactly is this mystery man of yours?” Si teased. camila calderón

Late January 2026
"Don't say sorry!" Sienna reassured her in response to her apology for taking the video specifically for Ilija. "I'm really happy for you. Honestly! Although I need to hear a little more about this guy too," she added. "Who exactly is this mystery man of yours?" "Ilija is not a mystery," Camila laughed, ensuring that her attention was focused back on Sienna. With the way in which she'd worded it, Sienna sounded almost like the gossip columns, but Camila knew that it wasn't because she was trying to pry—only as a friend. It was true that she didn't go broadcasting her relationship with Ilija and was probably more secretive about it than she needed to be, but it mattered to her that Ilija could trust her not to put his life under public scrutiny. She thought about it more carefully, trying to figure out how to describe him, and smiled. "He is quiet, you know? …Timid?" Was that the right word in English? Camila wasn't sure, but she liked that he wasn't too extroverted; she didn't have to feel like she had to be in "celebrity" mode all the time. "He did not know that I am famous," she explained, lowering her voice on the word "famous" before bringing her volume back up again, not that it likely mattered very much because of the waterfall. As much as that probably had changed Ilija's expectations of who she was and what she would be like, it made some things harder on her. He hadn't intended to end up involved with a celebrity, and Camila didn't want her fame to create a rift between them. "I want that he has privacy," she continued, and at least he was magical. She couldn't imagine how much harder it would have been if he were non-magical and not famous, but sometimes she felt like he thought that she was doing too much for his sake. Camila hadn't expected things to be the way they were, but she wanted to make it work. It wasn't Sienna she was worried about, though. "Auguste does not trust him," she added, shaking her head. She knew that he meant well, too, because there were definitely people out there who just wanted to be able to claim that they had come within spitting distance of someone famous. "But he is not bad—not a bad person." Ilija wasn't jealous or manipulative. If he were, she thought, she would have seen that from him already. She understood that fame wasn't for everyone, and she didn't want to drag him around to events unless he wanted to go. "Maybe you can meet when we are in London?" Camila suggested. She thought that it would be helpful, too, for Ilija to meet someone else who understood what it was like in his position. Also, truth be told, she trusted Sienna around him more than she did Auguste and didn't think that it would be such a shock for him to meet her first. Sienna Aurélie Linslee

After all the scrutiny Camila’s new relationship must be getting from the press, Sienna could understand her friend’s impulse to correct her – that Ilija (Si filed this name away in her memory) wasn’t a mystery, only a private person. Camila had already told her a few scarce details, although she’d promised more on this trip and Si had been eagerly waiting. They’d met during the Christmas ball that the British royal family had organized. Sienna had vaguely noticed that Camila had disappeared sometime after the tense confrontation with Emrys, although she hadn’t thought much about it for several reasons. The first and most obvious being that Si had been incredibly preoccupied with her own relationship shattering into pieces, but also the expectation that had come from beforehand that Camila was quite famous and would therefore be using the ball as an opportunity to socialize and show off what she was wearing. Still, it hadn’t been until the next day that Si had finished processing that Camila had disappeared, and that was when she’d started shooting off concerned texts to her friend. Either way, Camila looked happy to tell her a little more about Ilija now, and Si nodded along to her explanation. A quiet person who didn’t know Camila’s background when they had met. Not surprising, since Camila’s music had a specific fanbase in mind and Sienna was sure that most British men couldn’t name very many international magical artists, anyway. She couldn’t quite get a picture of what this Ilija must be like, since Camila was a little stingy with the details, but Si didn’t want to push too hard. Her friend must be far too used to being bombarded by questions from the press, who didn’t respect her privacy or the pace that Camila set when it came to sharing details about her personal life. So Sienna smiled and commented, “He sounds sweet. Do you get the chance to see him often?”Her smile faltered a little as Camila commented that she wanted to give Ilija the chance for privacy, which especially coupled with the fact that he seemed like a ‘timid’ person raised a red flag or two. After all, Camila was describing the exact reasons her own relationship with Gus had failed. She loved him so much, and they’d known each other since school – back before either one of them had known what to do with their lives. Their relationship had been built from that friendship, and when it had just been the two of them…it was perfect. But their relationship had gotten so much attention from the press (some positive, but an overwhelming amount of criticism in so many different ways too), and Si had been hounded by paparazzi or opinionated fans. She was a private person, and preferred when her potions got more attention than she did. It had put an uncomfortable amount of strain on her relationship with Gus, until they’d both agreed that despite the fact that they loved and cared for each other…the circumstances just weren’t working for them. What they wanted was just too different. She didn’t know how to say any of that to Camila in a way that didn’t sound like she was intruding. “Privacy is important,” Sienna finally said, twisting a lock of hair around a finger. “It can be… overwhelming to date someone famous, especially if you aren’t used to being watched. It…completely changes your life, and the relationship too.” She looked uncomfortable as she admitted this to Camila. Sienna had shared everything about the break-up with Camila, since she’d desperately needed someone to talk to – so Camila already knew their reasons for breaking up. But it felt important to say anyway. At her suggestion that they meet sometime in London, Si gave a jerky nod. “That sounds nice, I’m sure I’ll really like him. And he must really be something if he got your attention,” she added jokingly, wanting to lighten the mood and not let her break-up cast a cloud over everything. The sun was shining, her friend was happy – Sienna wanted to treasure the moment. camila calderón

Late January 2026 Sienna was complimentary of Ilija, felt Camila, although she hadn't even met him. She said that he sounded sweet, though—which he was—and she asked her if she got the chance to see him often.
"Sometimes, yes," Camila nodded. She would have loved to be able to spend more time with Ilija, but she didn't want to seem too clingy. They had only met a few weeks prior, after all.
At the mention of "privacy", Sienna's tone changed. Camila checked that her phone was secure and not about to, say, fall into the rapids before moving closer to Sienna and reaching out for her hand upon seeing her discomfort. She didn't mind it if Sienna wanted to talk more about how being in a relationship with a celebrity had affected her; in fact, Camila felt that it was helpful for her sake.
Camila had lived the majority of her life as a "regular" person, and she couldn't imagine how she would have felt about dating a famous person as someone who wasn't. It was one of those things that had seemed so unrealistic. If only she were famous, then this thing or that thing would have been possible, if not handed to her. It had been nothing but a fantasy… until she was actually famous.
She didn't want to make Sienna upset, either. It was apparent, too, that Sienna was trying to change the subject just as quickly as it had come up, saying how much she thought she'd like Ilija. "And he must really be something if he got your attention," she added.
Well, Sienna was right about that, Camila thought, smiling a little bit wider because of the fact that Sienna was teasing her slightly with that comment, too. "He is incredible," she agreed. "But that is why I want to have caution." It wasn't because of him; it was because of her and the fact that Camila wasn't about to mess up and drive a wedge between herself and Ilija just because she was famous. "And I do not want to lose our friendship," Camila continued, referring then to Sienna. She and Ilija had time, and of course she wanted him to be able to see her country so that he could understand who she was and what had shaped her as a person… At the same time, she was there with Sienna because she had wanted her to experience Argentina for herself, too.
"Hmmm. Maybe we will find you a boyfriend from Argentina?" Camila teased Sienna in return. If Sienna were actually interested, Camila wouldn't hesitate to act on it, even though she had said it in jest.

Sienna shot Camila a grateful smile as she took her hand comfortingly, and she reached out an arm to pull Camila into a sideways hug. In the weeks following the break-up, Sienna had been a mess. There was no other way to describe the mental state she’d been in, because her future had always seemed to certain, and it was always meant to have Gus in it. Si had been convinced that they were endgame, and in reality her oldest friend had always been perfect to her, everything she’d ever wanted in a guy. She still cared for him deeply, and that was what kept the persistent ache in her heart from going away. But things were different now than the last time they’d gone through a similar break-up. Sienna wasn’t a teenager anymore, and she wasn’t alone and in the middle of making one of the biggest decisions of her life to move to the UK and join Slug and Jigger’s. Si had friends now, important people in her life who cared about her too, and she had Aware Wolf. She’d already invested so much of her time and energy into it, but now she poured her soul into the potion too. That was her legacy, more than anything else. And Gus? He would always be important to her, and she’d do whatever work was necessary to keep him as a friend. But she knew that life had to go on anyway, and that she couldn’t lose herself like had almost happened the first time all those years ago. So she appreciated Camila’s comfort, but as the weeks went by she knew she needed less of it. Still, she shot her friend a look of appreciation as she informed her, “You don’t need to worry about me. I’ll be okay, really.” Maybe that wasn’t completely true right now – her heart didn’t feel completely okay – but it was going to be true someday. And in the meantime, Si wanted to enjoy this time she had with Camila. The young girl had so many responsibilities, with her music and fans and celebrity lifestyle, that it was hard to find time just for the two of them. But this vacation was ultimately about their friendship, and everything else was just secondary. She nodded along as Camila gushed about Ilija, although she still acknowledged that she had to be cautious about the relationship. Moving too fast was common for celebrities in the spotlight, and Si couldn’t blame her friend for wanting the relationship to last. She said something along this line by commenting, “That’s good. Taking the time to get to know each other is so important. That’s when you realize if the relationship can last or not. Sometimes people just aren’t compatible, right?” That was the key, and Si had already decided she was done with the whirlwind romances, and the drama. It had been a fun and interesting stage of her life, but it wasn’t completely what she wanted anymore. Quiet, and stability…she hadn’t found that yet, but it sounded more appealing to her now than it ever had before. But not quite yet. Si was still figuring out how to move on from Gus, and she knew she wasn’t ready to start dating again. The snort escaped Si without her realizing it as Camila teased her about finding an Argentinian boyfriend, and she found herself shaking her head. “No thanks,” she said with a laugh, “I don’t think I’m ready to hear the word ‘boyfriend’ again for a while.” Sienna sighed slightly as she turned around again to take in a full panoramic view of the waterfalls, and then she turned back to Camila to shrug and smile at her. “I just want to have fun with my friend. And meet your family, of course. And see some embarrassing baby pictures!”camila calderón

Late January 2026 Part of why Sienna was in Argentina with her was because Camila knew how rough the past month had been for her, and she didn't hesitate to hug her back as Sienna pulled her into a hug from the side. The circumstances of her breakup with Auguste weren't great, but that's what friends and a vacation in a part of the world that wasn't so freezing cold were for. Sienna told her that she didn't need to worry about her, but it was less about worrying over her at that point. She was no longer as devastated as she had been right after the fact, though Camila knew that it would take time. For that reason, she didn't take offense when Sienna told her that she didn't want to hear the word "boyfriend" again. "I just want to have fun with my friend. And meet your family, of course. And," she emphasized, "see some embarrassing baby pictures!"
Camila could stop talking about Ilija long enough to keep from rubbing salt in Sienna's Auguste-shaped wounds, especially as her baby pictures were brought up. People seemed to love getting to see celebrities' baby pictures, though getting photos of her younger years leaked wasn't really a concern for Camila. If it would make for enough of a distraction that maybe some people would forget about her love life, then so what if they saw a couple of photos of her with food smudged across her face or with a few missing baby teeth?
"Okay, okay…" Camila agreed with a laugh. "When we return with my parents, you can see the photos." She probably had some of them on her phone, too, but it would be more entertaining for Sienna with her parents' commentary added on top of it. Speaking more seriously, however, Camila continued, "You are the first person from London to visit my country." Sienna wasn't the first person ever, though. "Well, from my life," she corrected herself. "So it is important for me." She didn't want to make a big deal over it, but it was important. Even though her parents had played it cool so far, Camila knew that they understood that it was different to drag an adult friend on a girl's trip to her home country than it was to have a slumber party with a bunch of school friends as a little girl.

The circumstances of meeting Camila had been totally random (although at least one good thing had come from Hag’s Fever) but Sienna was looking forward to seeing more of her friend in a place she felt comfortable. She knew Camila as a celebrity, since she’d been to just about every concert she could get tickets for since they’d first met. And she knew Camila as a friend in London, since they’d spent just about every major holiday over the last year together – everything from tiptoeing around haunted mansions together to forcing Rudolph noses on the other at a Muggle Christmas market. Now she was excited to see where Camila had come from, the city she had grown up in with the friends who’d known her before her meteoric rise to fame. It was about getting to know Carmen, rather than the image Camila and her team had carefully put together once the star had gone international. And if there was anything Sienna valued – it was seeing people at their most natural and genuine. So she gave a satisfied nod as Camila agreed to the baby photos, returning the other girl’s smile as she let her eyes wander around the park. It was impossible to conceptualize something existing on such a massive scale, even when it was right in front of her. Si could almost be convinced that she must be under the influence of a spell, because there was no way these waterfalls could have come into existence without magic. Camila continued to explain (it was so nice to see her worry less about her English and simply talk) that Si was the first from London to visit Argentina, and the honor of that warmed Si’s heart. “It’s important for me too,” she said immediately, if only to reassure Camila that she was invested in this trip. “And I can’t wait to take you to Brussels someday. We don’t have anything like this, but we have our charms.”The girls continued to walk along the trails, and Sienna lost sight of the waterfalls for a moment (even if she could still hear the roar of the water in her ears). It was easy to talk to the other girl, but Si could appreciate the comfortable silence between them as she listened for exotic-sounding bird calls and the sheer force of the water as it tumbled over the edge of the cliffs. Si had talked her heart out to Camila about Gus and the breakup – all her dashed hopes, all the questions about what her life would look like now. The transition back to single life hadn’t been easy, and there were things about being in a relationship that Sienna missed. Especially since she and Gus had known each other for so long, which meant they knew what the other liked without needing to say it aloud. But this friendship with Camila had also become one of the most important things, and it was a relief to know that at least this dynamic hadn’t changed and Sienna could still count on Camila to be there for her. And knowing that the connection went both ways. “Do you visit home much? You always seem so busy,” Si observed out-loud, letting her gaze wander around the dense green around them. camila calderón

Late January 2026 Camila's expression brightened even more as Sienna brought up traveling to Brussels at some point. She was going to get to see a lot of Europe on her tour, but Belgium wasn't on that list despite Sienna's being from there. That didn't mean that Camila didn't want to go there; she did, but that would have to be a tour stop for the next time. (And hopefully a vacation before then, since her upcoming tour had been rescheduled, and Camila really hoped that that wasn't an omen when it came to tour scheduling on the whole.)
What was funny was that Camila wasn't an outdoorsy person. She wasn't one to go hiking for fun or anything like that, yet Iguazú was different. It wasn't just walking around aimlessly, the way many of her Herbology lessons at Castelobruxo had felt.
"Do you visit home much? You always seem so busy."
Having started taking some more photos of the greenery around them, Camila looked over at Sienna and shook her head. "No," she answered simply. She wished that she could spend more time there than she did, but she didn't want to give up living in London, either. "My schedule is busy," she agreed. If she hadn't come down with Hag's Fever, she knew, then things could have been completely different. It wasn't like she had a reason to visit her own country's tourist attractions. "And my life is in London now." She hadn't expected that it would end up that way. Living somewhere where she didn't speak the language as well as she would have liked was hard; Spain or Portugal would have been better there, but she wouldn't have been able to establish herself as widely and would have remained boxed into certain genres because she didn't perform in English. She wouldn't have gotten the same exposure just because she was from Argentina. "I love my family," Camila went on, still clicking a few photos as she spoke. "I do not want to… escape my life or the past… or something," she assured Sienna. If that were the case, she wouldn't have thought of bringing her into that. "My life," she explained, not bringing up the details about fame because of where they were, "is my decision, you know?" It wasn't in a brooding sort of way at all. There were elements of her life and her career in which she had no say and desperately wanted a change, but she was the one who had decided to take a chance and attempt to make it in the music industry.

Sienna felt her head turn as she saw signs of magic in the distance, and her eyes caught on a small group (of students?) in the middle of a fantastic display of nature magic. It was so strange to think of how differently magic had developed in different parts of the world, and Sienna gasped excitedly at the exotic flowers that bloomed on the other side of the path. She’d only ever been exposed to European magical practices, and the transition from Belgium to England hadn’t been so different in that sense. They all used wands, and the same incantations, and nature magic had never been that highly prioritized at school. She’d never asked Camila about Castelobruxo, mostly because she’d always assumed that her school experience would have been similar to Sienna’s at Beauxbatons. But now she found herself wondering… Anyway, Si felt herself nod along in agreement at Camila’s observations about her move to the UK. She loved her father, of course, and the opportunity to visit Brussels and see him was always an exciting one. But Sienna had left that part of her life behind a long time ago now, and she couldn’t picture herself anywhere except London. It was an exciting city, one of the centers of the magical world, and all her friends were there now. “I get it,” she confirmed as Camila wondered out-loud haltingly about her life in Argentina. “You’re just adding a new chapter, miss international pop star,” she added teasingly, nudging Camila’s shoulder with her own as they continued to walk down the path and the small group of other witches disappeared from view. It was a strange friendship, one that had started by accident, but now Camila probably knew better than almost anyone what was happening in Si’s life (besides Heleen, maybe). And with the insanely long hours Sienna had been working at the apothecary (thank you, Aware Wolf), she couldn’t imagine the stress she’d be under if she didn’t have Camila to text at any and all hours. Camila was always touring, or rehearsing, or investing all kinds of time into her career – so she understood the sacrifice too, and didn’t judge Si for cancelled plans. Sienna had never thought she’d be the kind of person to prioritize work, but that was just the stage of life she was in she supposed. She stopped to fan herself slightly as she pointed out, “Merlin, it’s hot here. Is there somewhere we could sit for a moment, before I burn like a vampire in this sun?”camila calderón

Late January 2026 In the distance, it looked for a moment like there were some wizarding students practicing their magic, but Camila didn't think that Castelobruxo would have brought them out so far. It was always risky to do something with magic where non-magical people might see it, one of the reasons why most of the established magical schools were hidden in locations where they couldn't be found by just anyone. Camila didn't call attention to it, though. She didn't want anyone to get in any trouble, nor did she want to end up being recognized in the non-magical world. It would just create even more confusion because she wasn't famous outside of the magical world.
Sienna teased her, though, about "adding a new chapter" to her life, and Camila forgot about the likely magic she'd just seen as they continued walking.
"Yes, it is a new chapter," Camila laughed. She was adding another chapter in a foreign city with a boyfriend and a group of largely famous friends, but that didn't mean that she had to abandoned from where she had come. Case in point: She was there with Sienna, wasn't she? She could keep adding pages without having to go back and edit what had already happened, though she found that songwriting made more sense to her than writing a novel did.
It was getting warmer out, and Camila wasn't surprised when Sienna started fanning herself. "Merlin, it's hot here," she said. Though that wasn't surprising for that time of year below the Equator, it was when one was used to London's weather. "Is there somewhere we could sit for a moment, before I burn like a vampire in this sun?"
"Hmm." Camila looked around for somewhere where they could take a break in the shade. "I don't know." There were trees all over because they were in a national park, but the cover they provided wasn't really sufficient. "We can Apparate to Córdoba and eat something, maybe?" she suggested, frowning a little. "I do not think that Puerto Iguazú is… familiar for me to do without problems." The walkways were long enough that they could use Side-Along Apparition without calling attention to themselves, though.
