While Wednesday spend most of her days on the ice and the majority of her evenings and otherwise free time brewing potions under the guide and tutelage of the Hogwarts Potions professor she felt the need to ensure she expanded her horizons a little. She wanted to know more about potions and what needs different groups might have. She'd written a girl that had graduated Hogwarts just before she'd arrived with a request to discuss the goings on of potion making at St. Mungo's as one interested potioneer to another. She was a little nervous but all in all she knew it was the right move to make. She wouldn't skate forever and when she retired she wanted to make sure her knowledge about potions was enough to make sure that she could survive.
She had no interested in mastering potion making up to the point she figured most would that entered the branch. She needed to make enough to make a living and generally didn't really ahve much ambition in terms of creating new potions or being able to make the most sophisticated and sought potions. As long as she could at least brew wolfsbane, considering that was one of the most important potions there currently was. The more simple cure for boils and pepper up potions wouldn't be overly complicated and no doubt would manage her day to day life. She just needed more. So she was waiting in the corridor outside the potioneers room at St. Mungo's now to meet up with the other witch. She was a little early and word had been sent she was waiting, so all she really had to do now was wait for the other to show up... @adelaide

[attr="class","nuggetwords"]Adelaide is more than willing to admit that she enjoys her job as a potioneer. Potions follow logic - a magical sort of logic that is still being deciphered, but logic nonetheless - in a way that she can memorize for when the patients in need outnumber the hospital’s current supply. The freedom given in researching more effective potions or how to increase the yield of a recipe or instruction is a bonus as is the supply of potion ingredients the hospital provides for such research - limited but still available for her use. Enjoyment, however, comes after her responsibilities.
Though she derives satisfaction from a duty well-met as she provides for those in need, her obligations to keep the hospital well-stocked, to inform the necessary staff when ingredients are getting low, and to document her experiments, findings, and hypotheses are ones she takes seriously and prioritizes without hesitation. (The last is, arguably, not an obligation so much as a preference, but as she keeps the files neat, out of the way, and available for all laboratory personnel use, few bother to take the time to argue whether or not it's necessary.)
Regardless, Adelaide finds potioneering a profession that agrees with her and hopes it matches others. Recently, someone reached out to her to ask her questions about the job, a fellow Slytherin who is a few years younger than her. While part of her continues to think another potioneer would have been better, someone with more kindness perhaps, she agreed and does not intend to back out of her word.
She is finishing up a Draught of Peace when she hears that the sender has arrived early, watching as the concoction settles into a distinct shade of orange. She waves to allow her guest to enter, carefully adding powdered porcupine quills to the blend.
