After the fiasco with her neighbour Xantha owed Emrys a huge debt. Possibly her life, although she more than realised she could have opted to call an ambulance. They probably wouldn't have been there quite as fast as he'd been though. So she'd been a little bit apprehensive about owing such a huge debt to Emrys, even though he didn't treat it like much of a problem. She'd been relieved when there was an opportunity to help him out. It wasn't half as impactful as her scenario since well, his thing sounded fun, but that didn't change the fact she could finally do something beneficial to him. So far their relationship consisted mostly of mutual fun and him buying her meals at times. She had no idea that in return she often served as a meal, which made the feeling of owing him just a little worse. What had she ever done for him? Well, today that had changed.
Emrys needed to lay low and they'd ended up with the idea of going camping. It was a little bit crazy maybe, but it sounded like a good way to relax for a while. Xantha had managed to get some days off work in order to spend time with Emrys and right now they were on a shopping trip for the weekend. After shopping for actual camping supplies (which had already been quite a trip for Xantha due to the supposed 'budget' that was too high to spend for her) they were now at the point they went to the supermarket for food. Xantha had suggested they keep the coolbox in the car so they could instantly transfer the food that needed cooling in there to keep it good as long as possible. She'd offered to cook, which meant she had a strong preference for campfire food. Considering she hadn't even gotten up to a quarter of the budget on camping supplies she had big plans for the supermarket.
She'd just grabbed a shopping cart and had looked at Emrys. She had a feeling he hadn't been in a supermarket in quite a long time, if ever at all. She found the idea absolutely mind boggling, due to the fact she couldn't imagine being so rich a random budget was impossible to spend without buying ridiculous things that were completely unneeded. She knew he liked candy and well, no campfire was complete without some smores so she knew she was definitively taking a trip down the candy isle at some point. By now she was worried more that the cart wasn't big enough to hold his love for sweets, if he truly hadn't been in a supermarket as often as his attitude suggested. "Emrys..." Xantha said doubtfully for a moment. "When was the last time you were actually in a supermarket?" At least the stores tended to not put the candy isle first but started off most commonly with the fresher ingredients. She was thinking steak and some fish as possible dinner. Naturally some bread as well. She was just a little distracted by her friend currently...

Emrys had helped out a friend, that was all. He didn't feel like Xantha now "owed him" or anything. He knew that they came from different worlds. That fact could not be hidden anymore. He had seen where she lived, and it had been quite the opposite of his own residence. He also knew that when she had a mind for something, there was no point in arguing. She wanted to pay him back, and so he would let her. He needed to lay low, and so the idea of camping came up. Emrys wasn't the type to regularly camp, but it seemed like a fun idea. Xantha ensured she had the days off, and Emrys ensured that he didn't have any engagements at the time, which he didn't.
The two needed to collect items for their planned weekend. Emrys had decided to just let Xantha get whatever she wanted, or thought they needed. It was what he normally did, he gave her a budget (a random high number that he pulled out of a hat) and they had gone to get camping supplies. True, he could have probably borrowed from his family, but all their equipment was magical. with the supplies purchased, they had moved the the supermarket. A place that Emrys had rarely visited, the last perhaps was with his mother when he was young. He had things brought to him if he wanted it. It was really that simple. They used one of the company cars, driven by his body guard to go. He insisted the man wait in the car. No need to draw more attention to them. Though he was sure the man wouldn't listen. They headed in, and he was right, not far behind was a suited man there to watch over Emrys. Most likely there in part to provide Charlotta with proof of this event. At least he could help them load the car when they were done.
When they went camping, Xantha would be doing all the cooking, so in return, Emrys insisted to pay for everything, that way they didn't have to skimp. Emrys had a classics black hoodie on, ensuring the hood stayed up, and his sunglasses stayed on, there was a chance he may not be recognized. Shoving his hand in his pockets. He looked around, in a way, it was fascinating. Xantha moved so comfortably there. So he simply followed her lead, but looked from side to side, taking in everything he could see. Charlotta wouldn't believe that he was actually in here. That was when he heard his name. He looked at Xantha, cocking his head slightly. "Huh? Yea?" Then she asked. He paused to think. "Um, I think it was with my mom, and she put me in the cart seat thing." He said. He had been quite young, honestly didn't remember too much. But to be honest, she also probably put him in there so that she could keep track of him.

Even though Xantha knew she should not be surprised at the response Emrys gave a part of her was still surprised and baffled. If he'd been put in the seat of the cart he couldn't have been all that old. He'd been a toddler or something, considering he did remember it vaguely. He was also looking around quite a lot and well, the suit was following. Xantha was almost used to having a tail when Emrys was around, even though the baby sitting felt like overkill when she knew some of the things that Emrys had done to help her out. She didn't really think he needed the suits all that much, but she wasn't going to point it out to them. If somebody did decide to aim a gun at his face she certainly wasn't planning to jump in front of it. She hadn't even fully recovered from the stab wound yet, although it was doing much better by now. It was healing a lot faster than she'd expected, although she had seriously misjudged how deep the knife had gone in. She thought she'd felt it sink in a lot deeper, but she realised the mind could easily play tricks on her so she figured it made sense. She'd been stressed and had thought the situation worse than it was.
She smiled slightly, putting some steak and fish in the cart. "I don't suppose you have much of a preference in terms of food? I was thinking of mostly purchasing beef and fish since they have the last risk if they are not cooked perfectly. Cooking over open fire can be a challenge and while I know how to it's been a while." The closest she'd gotten was stolen food over improvised fires in the city when she'd been living out in the streets and squatting whenever she found an empty building that seemed to not be watched at all. She'd gotten very sick of bad food a few times, but that was part of living on the streets. No microwaves and no money to buy any decent food. One made due with what was available. Despite loading up the cart with a bit more ease than usual she still dreaded the bill at the end, even if she didn't have to pay it. It was a natural reflex by now for her, dreading the cost at the end, since every wrong purchase could in theory mean a week without food. At least this weekend it seemed like she could eat enough. It'd hopefully mean Mavis could also spend their household budget on a few proper meals again.
Xantha moved forward and smiled at her friend as his eyes looked around. "Just wait till we get to the candy isle for the smores. I think at that point you'll be doing the shopping." She said playfully, teasing him lightly for his sweet tooth. She glanced back over her shoulder though, looking at the suit. He stood out there like a sore thumb even more so than Emrys himself did by virtue of his curiosity. "Couldn't your suit at least have taken a cart and pretended to be shopping? People are going to looking to see who he's tailing." She muttered in annoyance. People were not used to seeing anybody that needed a bodyguard so the appearance of somebody like the suit that was tailing them was enough to alert the more curious shoppers to the fact that something was going on. The last thing Xantha wanted or needed was to have curious people pay them a bunch of attention. It made her rather nervous, since attention usually meant security and her experiences with security were more commonly running from them because it was that or starving. She could already feel herself starting to tense up. Sometimes she wished he could just leave his babysitters at home and pretend to be a normal human being. Yet his fame and fortune seemed to make that quite impossible unless he literally fled from them, like they'd done when they'd first started to get to know each other.

The protection was stronger now, especially after his little disappearing act from the studio. He didn't feel to justify his actions, he didn't see the point. So, the body guard, or better named, babysitter was reinforced. But he didn't mind it all to much right now. Xantha had been stabbed recently, and while he could help if something else happened, there was automatically someone else who was there to help as well.
The two moved through the store, grabbing meat, he looked around, spotting a lobster tank. Though he really didn't think supermarkets like this would sell them, it was fascinating. She talked about meat preferences, and cooking and Emrys shrugged, looking back to her. "I'm not that picky, whatever you want ot get is fine." He said with a smile. "Both sound great." He didn't mind that she said she didn't have much experience, in all honesty, she had more than him.
As they continued through the shop, he continued to look. There were many things he didn't realize were sold at a place like this, and some things that seemed the same, but had different labels and names. All of it was beyond his understanding. He also realized, that it was so much easier to have someone else shop and cook for him. He stopped dead in his tracks. They had an entire isle for candy? How did he not know this? "What are smores?" he chose to ask as he started to move once again. Though she mentioned this, the main point was that there was a candy isle, and yes, he would most likely be grabbing what he could, and wanted. Xantha then mentioned his bodyguard. At that, Emrys glanced over his shoulder to his shadow. "Unfortunately Charlotta personally trains them. I'm their only priority. They don't care about conspicuous. Just keeping an eye on me." He half complained. It was true, nothing but the best for her nephew. Especially with his special ability and skill at evading. Each body guard who worked with him had to be an occlumency, and if they weren't, Charlotta personally saw to their training.
Emrys was used to eyes on him, and could feel some curious shoppers trying to figure out why the couple had a man in a suit following them. He could just feel their thoughts. Was he someone famous? some would be thinking. It was a shame he wasn't bigger in muggle society. Though he was curious if a store such as this had security. It hadn't been unheard of for one of his tailing body guards getting stopped. unfortunately, Emrys couldn't play the "this man is stalking me" card. For that was something they clearly prepared for in the training. It was just so hard for him to get away with anything these days. But that really did make it all the more fun. He could see her tense up, not entirely understanding why, he drew closer, finally pulling a hand from his pocket and putting it on her shoulder. "Hey, it's alright." He said to her softly, in a vague attempt to comfort her.

It was a bit of a relief that Emrys wasn't a very picky eater. Well, probably not when one promised him sweets at the end to wash away whatever had been cooked up for him before. She figured that with some aluminum foil and potatoes she could make some pretty decent food without too much risk towards their health. While food poisoning was hardly lethal in most cases it wasn't exactly what she had in mind for their weekend get away. So she put some fish into the cart, steak, potatoes, vegetables that would do well being roasted and several other items that would make for good food to be cooked over a fire. A roast spit would have been very interesting and for a moment Xantha almost dismissed the idea. Then she almost giggled as she put a full chicken in the cart. She had to be able to get that right! She'd done it several times in her younger years when they'd gone out camping with the family. Back when life was better.
Emrys asked what smores were and Xantha blinked a few times. How on earth did he not know what smores were with his candy obsession? For a moment she wondered if the question was serious or if he was just messing with her. Since this wasn't exactly the kind of subject she expected him to be making jokes about she shrugged. "Roasted marshmellows and chocolate on a cracker. I used to make my mom buy the cookies that had a small layer of chocolate on them already in stead though. More chocolate, less cracker, just the way I liked it." She said with a smile that was oddly cheerful for her doing when talking about her past. Clearly camping was a happy memory for her despite everything going wrong in her life.
She pulled a face at his mention that the only thing his bodyguards were interested in was pretty much keeping an eye on him. She understood why he'd consider them babysitters far more than bodyguards. She noticed a few people shooting very curious looks in their direction and she felt her nerves slowly getting a little frazzled. "Well he's calling a lot of attention to our presence." She muttered in irritation. "Let's just get to the candy isle. I can always leave the cart there for you to fill while I grab some of the last things we'll need from the rest of the place." She suggested, already steering there. She was not comfortable in a situation like this and well, the sooner they got out, the better. The security detail didn't actually help her feel any safer. Just as another target really. Somebody to take down in case she did something funny. Her previous experience with weapons had been unpleasant enough that she wanted to avoid a second violent encounter.
Emrys got a little closer and placed his hand on her shoulder. She almost flinched at the touch, only managing to control the urge because she knew it was Emrys and not anybody else. She sighed and gave him a bit of a tense smile. "This much attention usually means people call security or police on me. Even if I haven't done anything they always want to find something I did wrong anyway to comfort the people with more money that essentially pay their wages. I don't get along too well with any type of security these days, mall cops or otherwise." She looked up at him then, stopping for a moment before the Candy isle was fully in view. "You're not the only one used to escaping security, although we both have different reasons for it." She said before dropping her eyes again and walking further along, leading him to what would probably be the adult version of a candy store. If she ever happened to figure out his birthday and had money left over she was going to the candy store to buy him some of the less easily available sweets to try. At least buying gifts for him was easy enough and possible in her non-existant budget despite the fact he was probably the richest person she knew.

Emrys wasn't a picky eater. In fact, his diet was quite interesting, mostly consisting of blood. His aunt and manager insisted that he eat regular food to, and not just sweets, though she did use sweets shamelessly to bribe him into good behavior. The vampire also rarely felt ill, so he had no concerns their either. Like a master, Xantha moved through the supermarket, throwing things into the cart with expertise. Emrys payed little attention to what was going in, he was to intrigued with the constant change of his surroundings.
Emrys ate the finer things in life, ones that were decadent and rich were what he preferred. He may have had one when he was younger, but he took his sweets seriously. Most of the time he payed a pretty price and usually from well respected high end patisseries and baked goods. He knew all sorts of sweets, but knew little about the kind that you made with a camp fire. The girl seemed surprised by this question. She explained the idea, and he felt like he had had something similar, or with the same concept before. Either way, he smiled wide. "I'm confident we'll need a fair amount of those then."
It was true, Emrys' bodyguards were there to protect him. But they were also there to keep an eye on him and his actions. It was how his aunt kept tabs on him. She'd have a field day when she heard the report about today. He knew it was a monster of his own creation, this was the price for doing what he wanted. At least he could still have fun. Though the attention did seem to be getting to Xantha. He guessed it was true, the fame wasn't for everyone. She mentioned the possibility of leaving him and the cart in the candy isle while she finished grabbing things. It didn't sound like the best plan, but also didn't seem like there was much of a choice to the matter. He followed her nodding "If you think that's best." Though he was a bit surprised that she was so willing to leave him alone in the candy isle. It didn't seem like a thing most would want.
He reached out to comfort her, but it seemed as though that wouldn't happen easily. She explained why she was so tense. He gave her a smile. "Well, as long as your with me, you don't have to worry about that. Cause I can confidently say that I have more money than anyone here. If anyone confronts us, just let me take care of it." Emrys didn't normally like to flaunt his money around, and wouldn't even pay off anyone, but what he said was true, he would take care of it if anything did happen. They weren't doing anything wrong here.
Turning the corner, they walked into the sweets isle and Emrys' child like smile only grew.

Xantha smiled slightly as he seemed rather enthusiastic about the entire concept of smores. She nodded for a moment, the smile lingering as she considered. "Have you ever had vodka skittles? It's more of a party drink but I think you might like it.... It's alcohol and candy so kind of best of both worlds." She asked him curiously, wondering which kinds of candy combination amongst the commoner candy he'd actually tried before. She now felt an odd compulsion to get hem one of those candy sushi packs that were just badly copied in appearance to suggest healthy food rather than provided it. He could tell his aunt he had sushi while he just ate candy. It sounded like something he'd possibly enjoy. Odd, how the little things in life brought joy, no matter ones social standing.
Had Xantha needed to pay for all of the food she wouldn't even have dared let Emrys within visual range of the candy isle. She had a feeling that the still mostly empty shopping cart was going to be overflowing before they actually left the candy isle itself. If he had more self control than she anticipate he'd not grab at least a single pack of everything for the sake of trying it. She could almost feel the sugar coma coming up at the mere idea of what their cart would look like and while the idea was amusing she had no clue if she was just imagining it or if Emrys would actually go all that wild. Both seemed equally valid possibilities.
Emrys reassured her that he'd take care of it if they did end up being confronted by security and she smiled slightly. "I'll try to resist the urge to run then." She promised with a slight smile. It didn't surprise her that he thought he had more money than anyone here. Not to mention that it was painfully easy to believe considering the price he'd been willing to pay without winking for a bunch of camping supplies while he seemed to know very little about camping and either hadn't done it before at all or had never done it properly. She did feel a bit of pressure to make sure it was a good camping trip now, especially considering that she herself loved camping and wanted him to see what was so much fun about it. She wanted to share the fun of no obligations and no stress with him out in the wild. It had been years since she'd been able to go camping for fun.
As they walked into the candy isle she looked at Emrys, watching his whole face light up in excitement and she just smiled a little. "Well, get whatever you want, I'll grab what we need for the smores." She said with a chuckle, instantly searching for the marshmellows. The cookies were probably with the actual cookie isle, which was a second but probably less tempting part for Emrys. This stuff was all a bunch sweeter on average, except if one wanted things like chocolate chip cookies. After grabbing the marshmellows she spotted something lower on the rack. Absently she threw the marshmellows in the cart and picked up the giant round block of chocolate. She chuckled slightly as she turned it around in her hands, tempted by the idea far more than the actual candy itself. Chocolate oranges. Now that brought back memories. Shaking her head slightly she put it back. She wasn't going to indulge her own nostalgia on his budget. She in stead turned to look at him and whatever selection he was picking up. Indulging in his discovery of the candy isle cost him nothing after all, and was thus a perfectly fine way to amuse herself.

Excited about what she described, she seemed to mention something else. He stopped to think about it, before nodding. "Pretty sure I had them at a club that I go to, they cater to my specific tastes." Though he knew there was nothing he could say to his aunt to make her believe that candy was healthy, nothing. He knew that, so he didn't bother trying. Emrys had an undeniable sweet tooth, that was a fact. And he wasn't exactly one to think logistically either. Didn't have room in the bag? Couldn't he just enchant it to make more room? Or more bags?
She mentioned resisting the urge to run and he chuckled. "Just grab onto me." He winked at her through his sunglasses. He was happy to let her take charge of their shopping trip. True, he had gone camping when he was young, but magical camping was very different from muggle camping. So he was more than happy to let the girl think that he hadn't gone at all.
The moment had come, they had walked into the isle she had mentioned, and Emrys couldn't help but give an ear to ear grin, fangs and all. Now this was what he was talking about. She mentioned him getting what he wanted, and she would get what they needed. "You know I will." He his grin didn't dissipate as he started to grab anything that looked tempting. Chocolate, gummies, candy, chocolate. He grabbed a decent amount of anything that he knew were good, and one or two of what looked like it would be good. Dropping them into the basket as he went. Hearing Xantha chuckle, Emrys looked over to her, seeing that she had something quite interesting in her hand. He moved to her, peering over her shoulder in time to see her put it back. "What was that?" he took a step back as she turned to him.

It was quite interesting that one could get rich enough to have clubs cater to their needs, as if the club Emrys went to mixed drinks for his specific tastes and benefits. It was an idea that seemed insane and indulgent to her, but up to some point those were two words she felt described Emrys rather perfectly. His life wasn't exactly lived in moderation and she doubted he had to pull the breaks on his impulses often. It seemed more likely his manager was the one pulling the break whenever he was getting out of line in her mind. His carefree nature was part of what she liked about him, since it meant that she didn't really have to worry around him. What was the worst he'd ever do to her? Leave? That was such a common occurance that she hardly dreaded the day. It was only a matter of time until the people she cared about left her behind. She was used to it. It just meant she valued the few moments she got around those that made her feel safe and comfortable.
He said she could grab on to him if she felt the urge to run and she smiled slightly. "Not a bad idea." She said with a smirk and a twinkle in her eyes that betrayed she was thinking of far less innocent things than were allowed in a store. Emrys probably wouldn't mind those sorts of ideas, since he was at least as bad as she was, if not much worse. Probably much worse, as her number one priority through it all was still dancing and his seemed to be enjoying life. It was fine though, since it meant they didn't have clashing interests.
As she grabbed the few things they actually needed she could hear the impact of plastic against plastic as the cart started filling up with many items. No doubt Emrys was having a blast and his manager wouldn't be pleased he'd gotten free reign in the candy isle. Clearly that wasn't her problem. Her loyalties were with the star, not his management. She looked up almost startled as Emrys asked her what she'd been holding. She shrugged. "Chocolate orange. I used to love them as a kid. Haven't had one in years." She said with a shrug. She looked over at the cart that was a lot fuller now than it had been moments ago. She smiled slightly. "Do you think you have enough to get through the trip?" She asked with slight amusement. "Because in that case we can head towards the check out. I think I have everything we need, unless you wanted to go to the liquor store next door to pick up some alcohol." She said, knowing she herself would be fine with enough water around. She knew a few quiet camp sites that were removed from the world without any facilities but the waters there were clear and drinkable and they had plenty of food to get through, not counting the candy.

Emrys loved having places and people fawn over him. True, the main places that catered to his tastes were mostly magical establishments. That way, he didn't have to hide the fact that he was a vampire. He did what he wanted, ate what he wanted, and indulged in whom ever he wanted. What you saw was what you got. His career allowed him to to have flexible hours with a high pay out. Xantha mentioned how sometimes she had the urge to run away from authority. Though he did mention that she was more than welcome to grab onto him if that happened. That was when he saw the smirk and twinkle that he loved so much. He knew that look. He approved of that look. He moved pressing his lip on hers for a passionate tease.
They always seemed to end their encounters the same way. The way they both treasured, at least for the moment. He wanted to slam her body on a wall and press himself against her in a way that was so familiar to him. But he was certain that an action such as he wished wasn't acceptable in a grocery store like this.
In the candy isle, Emrys enthusiastically started to fill the cart. He knew that his body guard wasn't too far off, and was sure to be gathering photographic evidence of their excursion. He wondered if he'd hear about it from Charlotta. He was intrigued with her reaction to the strange candy that she had put back. Emrys hadn't noticed that he had so naturally snuck up on the muggle girl. Though she didn't seem to mind. She explained that it had been something called a "chocolate orange" he looked from her to the treat. He knew that Xantha was very consciences of what she put in her body, but seemed to really like it once upon a time. He wondered if it was something like a chocolate frog. She turned to look at the cart, questioning if they had enough. With that movement, he moved behind her, grabbing two of the oranges and threw them in the cart. "I think that'll do it." He smiled near innocently to his companion. She mentioned picking up some alcohol, and he shrugged, now knowing that she wasn't to interested in drinks of that sort. "I think I can just bring something I already have if I want it."
Before they left the isle, Emrys took a chance to kiss at her neck, tempted, and tempting. Softly speaking. "Once we pay, perhaps we can get into trouble, and you can grab whatever you want." Whispering in her ear, he gave it a little nibble. He had played "normal" long enough, it was time for some fun.

Emrys had never been too reserved in their meetings but when she replied somewhat playfully she was still a little surprised that he kissed her in the middle of the supermarket. While a part of her was by now used to his very affectionate way of interacting a part of her still found it a little disconcerting. To her it would have blurred the lines between what they were supposed to be and what the world would wrongfuly assume them to be. Xantha was terrified of being in a committed relationship so his easygoing affections, especially outside their more bedroom oriented fun, always had her a little unsettled. She couldn't afford to get attached to him, even more so because he'd never attach to her in any way. Well, not longer than a night, he'd pretty much agreed with her when she'd told her father nobody would really miss her if she was to die. He was there for her, as long as she was in sight. The moment she was out of sight he lost interest in her, which was for the better. No need for him to get more involved in her life than he already was. Sooner or later she'd get in some form of trouble she couldn't escape and she didn't need him around to see the carefully constructed lie she lived in fall apart.
It was just impossible to hide anything from her red-eyed friend, wasn't it? He must have noticed her expression or something, as he grabbed to of the candy as she was getting ready to leave and tossed them in. She narrowed her eyes at him in suspicion for a moment. He was only grabbing them because she'd shown interest in them, hadn't he? She didn't comment on it though. If he wanted them, he could have them. They were nothing but broken memories either way. Even though they hadn't gotten tainted in the divorce there was very little in her childhood that brought her actual joy. It was more nostalgia and a longing for the days when things hadn't been as messed up as they were now. Very little use to linger in those moments. They wouldn't change anything and all in all her life wasn't all that bad. She certainly wouldn't trade her job for anything in the world, even if it earned her very little. He said not to need any drinks, which was fine by her. She wasn't likely to drink them either way. Out in nature it seemed better if at least one of them remained relatively sober. In case anything happened. It wasn't exactly impossible.
Xantha moved then, to head towards check out but Emrys had other ideas. He kissed her neck and she felt a shiver run down her spine, the way it always did when his lips touched her neck. He nibbled her ears and she took a breath to steady herself, growling slightly in frustration. "You're impossible, in the best ways of course." She said, almost annoyed. Not that she ever really was, as she enjoyed his games as much as he did. "When did you want to head out towards the camp site? Do you need to drop some supplies off at your penthouse before we head out?" She asked him, attempting to stay practical before he had her lose most of her sense for ... well probably at least an hour. "And are you getting a driver, a cab or do you have a license?" She asked, almost curious. She dreaded the idea of heading out to a camping site in a limosine but well, considering Emrys was exactly that kind of rich it wasn't exactly impossible. She then bit her lips for a moment, her nose scrunching up slightly as she gave him a very accusing look. She leaned in and gave him a brief kiss before whispering to him. "Stop tempting me, for I'm far too keen to grab a hold on you like that and you know exactly where that'd lead us." She reminded him, although neither of them would even mind. Hell, if there was enough space in the back of whichever vehicle they'd go to the camp site in and neither of them was driving she wouldn't object to make use of the back seat.

Emrys had his sweet moments, although none of them lead to commitment. There were far too many fun people out there for Emrys to stick with just one. The novelty of the shop had worn thin, and the longer he was with Xantha, the more his body yearned for what they always ended up doing. She mentioned how impossible he was, and he gave a wide smile, almost child like. "Thank you." Xantha worked hard to stay focused, something Emrys seemed unable to do any more. She pretended to be annoyed, but he knew that she couldn't stay that way. He knew full well that she enjoyed their activities as much as he did.
Staying focused, she asked him when he wanted to head out. The celebrity gave a shrug. "I'm good whenever." He already had cloths and other personal items, including blood replenishing potions, packed. She also mentioned getting up there. Well, had they both been magic, that wouldn't have been a question. But she was a muggle. He shook his head. "No license, but i can arrange for a car to drop us off an pick us up." That wouldn't be an issue. And he was sure his aunt would appreciate knowing the area he was in, even if he was off the grid.
He continued to tempt her, yearning more and more for what was to come. Her biting her lips and crinkling up her nose didn't help. It was cute. He could tell that he was getting to her more and more. He accepted her kiss with a smile. His wicked grin broadened as she spoke. He didn't mind her grabbing him. Not in the lest. Still close to her he could barely hold back. "Then I guess we should pay these and head out."

At times, Emrys was simply an adult child going after whichever whim held him at the moment. Xantha always found it amusing and refreshing and wasn't particularly bothered as his eyes got distracted towards other girls or men when they were together. He had a very keen eye for attractive people and more than once Xantha found herself looking far longer at the people he'd spotted than he himself did. It wasn't really that Xantha wished for anything from Emrys or the strangers that caught her eye. She simply enjoyed looking a little and she often ended up wondering what kind of a life they led and what demons haunted their past. It seemed as though there was nothing in Emrys' life that had grown to be a skelleton or demon that he worried about though. The first time she'd even seen him in any sort of alert state she'd been a little distracted due to her father showing up so shortly after being embedded with a knife. She'd briefly noticed but hadn't been able to pay it much mind. She'd been busy. Now Emrys was as he always was around her, as the familiarity of it all made her feel more at ease. It was almost possible to forget they came from different worlds that would never intertwine, at best tease and play a little. She was not that girl, and he was not that guy.
He was good whenever, which to her sounded like the perfect excuse to head out as soon as they were done shopping. She wanted to make the most of her time off and her time in nature as there was no telling when she'd have an opportunity like that again. While her work wasn't too fussy considering that she was just in the ensemble it was still a financial thing that she just couldn't take too many days off work. She nodded briefly. "You could call your driver and tell him to come pick us up. He probably won't be able to get here before we are done paying with traffic and the que at the check out. Or is glasses planning to drive us places?" She asked with a vague motion over her shoulder towards his bodyguard. Poor fellow was at least lucky that he wasn't in the mood for mischief that involved running away today. Or if it did she hadn't been updated on that part of the fun for the day. Since she enjoyed their little games of hide and go seek with his bodyguards she wouldn't mind, but it hardly seemed like the type to start in the middle of a store. Then again, telling him to pay at the checkout while they ran off could be easy enough, although it hardly seemed like the body guard would care much about paying. He'd probably be more concerned with chasing them down. Rightfully so of course.
Emrys knew exactly where her buttons were by now and how to really push them. He was starting to turn her on in the middle of the supermarket and she couldn't stay irritated for more than a moment. It was that carefree attitude she enjoyed about the time she spent with him, as it reminded her that she herself could also enjoy a moment of fun from time to time without worrying about every single detail. It was hard for her not to and to let anything at all go, but Emrys forced her to forget it for brief moments. Like just a moment to break the surface before she'd be drowning in her worries again. He said they should probably pay and head out and Xantha smiled just a little bit. "I suppose. Though we might have just a little bit of room left to check out the fridges where they keep the cakes and pie." She said, blinking up at him innocently for half a second before letting her eyes trail his face, biting her lip slightly as the temptation to throw caution to the wind became stronger. Maybe distracting him with more goods would allow her a moment to regroup before they actually left the store. Besides, with how full the cart was he didn't have much space to take enough pastries to feed an orphanage for a week. Since those were goods that could spoil it hardly seemed wise to let him go there unsupervised.

Emrys wasn't haunted by his past, like so many seemed to be. His secret? He lived in the present, and that was it. What happened before no longer mattered. He rarely reminisced, preferring to enjoy life now. It seemed as though Xantha was ready to go out into the wild. That was fine with him. He peered back at his body guard at her mention. "Well, he does have one of the company cars outside." He mentioned, pulling out his phone and texting the man what the pan was. Talking to him would be such a buzz kill, he just couldn't be bothered.
By this time in their friendship, both knew exactly where the other's buttons were. He could see her considering what he was suggesting. In his opinion, the sooner they left, the sooner they could have their way with the other. But then she mentioned that the store had another section where they held cakes and pies. His eyes glistened as he pondered the options. Seeing her bat her eyes and bite her lip made him think more of what they could be doing. But cake and pie was never a bad thing. He nodded "Alright, let's go and take a look." He wished he could enchant the cooler thing that they got what they wanted.

It was somewhat amusing to Xantha that Emrys would opt to text the bodyguard rather than just tell him face to face. Then again, he had never enjoyed having the babysitters regardless so it did make sense to her that he preferred to pretend they didn't exist. The company car sounded like quite the luxury to her but well, she was used to absolutely nothing where he seemed to have the world at his fingertips. The contrast at times still surprised her and overwhelmed her but she took it all in stride. She wasn't too curious, much like she opted to ignore things she couldn't explain in life. She didn't need everything explained, just the things she required to get and keep her job and manage her bills. What people did beyond that was none of her business anyway.
With the ride arranged he took the temptation of heading towards the cakes and pies and Xantha smiled. She led him easily to the part of the store with the coolers that had all the perishables in terms of pastries and cakes and pies and simply stood back after to let the magic happen. She smiled slightly. "Just please keep in mind there is limited storage in the cooler we have and we already have plenty of healthy food to bring as well and plenty of sweets that don't require a fridge to stay good." She said gently, fully ready for him to utterly ignore her and end up stuffing himself on all sorts of things in the car rather than on her. She wouldn't mind, as there was plenty of time for the other entertainement as well, considering they'd be isolated out in nature with little to do except each other. Xantha certainly didn't have any books to bring, although she could always get up and dance to some of the songs on her phone as long as they had a charger. Maybe she'd keep the phone off most of the weekend anyway to just enjoy herself and not worry. She'd figured that out later. For now they still needed to pay up once Emrys was done collecting as many varieties of sugar as he could fit into the cart.
