October 23 2015
Sixth year, two more to go. Every part of Idris didn't want to be here. He was alone, he had no one. He had received news last year that his mother had passed. The only reason he was still going to the stupid school was because graduation was her dyeing wish. He had just come from his head of house where they talked about his after school plan. The thing was, he didn't really have one. And his grades were barely enough to get into NEWT level classes. Everything was going wrong, nothing was working out. In uniform he stormed down the halls. Something inside of him begging for chaos. He knew the best way to feel better was to see someone else hurt. He had found his unfortunate prey around the corner. It was a kid he had picked on before. One year younger, and such an easy target. Most kids were wary of him because of his last name.
Picking a fight was easy. And once the fight began, there was no stopping him, a sadistic smile on his face with ever hit that connected with the younger student. This hadn't been their first fight, and he was confident it wouldn't be their last. It did go on longer than normal. That was probably because of the hour. There were less students and teachers wondering the halls. But in time, the fight was stopped. Each boy worse off. They were escorted to the hospital wing for some good patching up. Detention was expected to commence after they were physically well enough to do whatever punishment the witnessing teacher saw fit. He lay on the bed. Ever breath was painful. His arm in a sling, set to not move. "You know, if you had been a good doggie, and played dead, we wouldn't be here." He stubbornly said, not even looking at the younger kid. Deep down he knew that he had started it, and he had just as much blame to take as Rhys did. But he wasn't in the mood to admit that.

So lay down, the threat is real When his sight goes red again October 23, 2015 @idris Rhys was trembling. But not because he was cold or anxious or any of those emotions that made him feel so weak. No, he was shaking with anger—with fury. The only thing stopping him from approaching the boy in the other bed in the Hospital Wing was that he wasn’t sure how many ribs he’d broken this time or when the Nurse would be back to help pop his shoulder back in place. This fight had been a bad one, well all of them were bad but because it had been during a free class hour Rhys’ had they had fought for an extended amount of time before a Professor found them. Idris had gotten in his face, and Rhys had almost walked away until he’d kept talking and Rhys’ vision tinted red, and he’d reacted. For now, he focused on his breathing as best he could. At the moment, he wasn’t able to take a full breath without some pain, but he also knew that his current rage was assisting in his tolerance. Then again, what werewolf didn’t have some kind of higher pain threshold?
It was the same routine, the same one over and over again. After five years, Rhys was growing weary. But at least he was much taller than the year before but apparently not tall enough. Idris still had some height on him, but he was older as well. Rhys had managed to get in some punches before Idris had him on the ground by twisting his arm and landing some strategic kicks to the side. However, it was hard to focus on strategy when blinded by fury. Even when the Professor had approached them, they hadn’t stopped trying to kill one another, and each had to be magically restrained. Rhys cautiously touched his nose, it felt swollen, and when he pulled his hand back, blood covered his fingertips. He shook his head. He’d had his nose broken more often than any of the student Quidditch players. And yet, even in their current state, Idris couldn’t keep his mouth closed. ”It’s not my fault you don’t stand a chance against any of the seventh years.” Rhys commented in return. Even through the pain in his hand, he clenched his fist. ”Its not my fault you can’t read either.” Their academic differences were duly noted, and Rhys was happy to remind him, considering what he put him through so often.

The hospital wing was large, but still both boys were placed side by side. That was probably not the wisest idea. But perhaps i was the staffs way of trying to finally get the boys to get along. Both students were worse for wear. The fight had gone on longer than most of their others. The professor even needed to use magic to separate the boys. Idris knew that a number of his ribs were bruised, cracked or broken, and his arm had been patched already, but was required to stay immobile. He was in pain, but a smug look remained on his face. He knew that as much pain as he was in, he had dealt at least that, probably more to the boy next to him. Though he did know that Rhys had gotten him well enough to give him a black eye. He felt the swelling and throbbing. Nausea accompanied him as he lay there. This didn't help. Idris was just mad at the world in general. He knew that Rhys was a hot head and could always be provoked into a good fight. The pain was worth it though. He could hear the heavy breaths of the boy. He was still steaming. What would be the chance they'd have a round two, before the Nurse came back?
Probably no the best. She wasn't far, and he was confident she would hear. The younger boy had started to sprout up, but Idris still had him on height. He spoke, he couldn't help it. Provoking the kid was the best way for him to get out his own issues. If he was fighting, he didn't have to remember that all the professors had given up on him, and proclaimed him stupid, or that his mother had died last year and the he was completely alone. "Who said I don't stand a chance. I'll beat them down just as easily as I beat you down." Idris fought with anyone who would. Rhys just happened to be there more than his other victims. Idris gritted his teeth as Rhys spoke. It was no secret that Rhys was doing better in school. "No matter how hard you study, you'll never amount to anything. Your daddy made sure of that. High marks wont do anything for you, little puppy Greyback."

So lay down, the threat is real When his sight goes red again October 23, 2015 @idris Some might wonder how Rhys managed to fight so much. He’d get knocked down, but he’d get back up—rage in those stormy blue eyes. Anger provided temporary relief against any pain, but it was also nothing compared to transforming into a werewolf once a month—even with the wolfsbane potion. His last name made him a target, but for some, he just appeared to be this lanky kid who always stared at the ground when he walked and didn’t talk a whole lot. And Rhys was never surrounded by a large group of friends like some, typically he might be with a few at the most, but it also depended on what class he was walking toward. Still, he hated it, yet Hogwarts still felt more like a home than anywhere he’d been since his mother died. But the treatment he received made him feel angry and alone. He was just a punching bag with the misfortune of being Fenrir Greyback’s son—what was he supposed to amount to. The Nurse had placed the boys in beds next to one another, which wasn’t doing anything to Rhys’ effort to calm down.
Idris kept speaking, and Rhys felt his heart rate increase and his face get hot. Reaching up, he realized his nose had started bleeding again, which wasn’t anything new. No amount of magic could help how many times he’d broken it by now. But, when Idris brought up his father, Rhys suddenly got to his feet—blood streaming down his face onto his white dress shirt and green tie. ”I’m nothing like him.” Rhys said through gritted teeth as he began to raise his fist in the air. Suddenly, however, he felt a force against his chest, which forced him to sit back down on the edge of his bed, and he heard the Nurse’s voice. ”That’s enough Mr. Greyback—sit back down before you do something you regret.” Her tone was even but annoyed, typically the tone she used with him. Rhys inhaled deeply and exhaled shakily as the Nurse came around to fix his nose and give him a towel to clean his face. She went to look at Idris before walking away from them again.
Rhys was furious, and he wondered if this was just another symptom of a world that didn’t want him. Out of all the boys that bullied him, Idris was by far the worst one. Letting out a frustrated breath through his nose, he scooted back on the bed, sitting up rather than laying down. Rhys knew that he had missed Charms. No doubt his friends would wonder where he was since he didn’t typically skip class without one of them—not that he’d made that a habit. A swift textbook to the arm from Renfri usually knocked that idea out of his head. Finally, after a few silent moments of seething, he spoke. ”Maybe I won’t amount to anything—but at least I’ll graduate. I think they only let you repeat a year three times before they give up on you.” Rhys put the towel the Nurse had given him to the side for now. His nose had finally stopped bleeding, which was more than he could say about the pain that he was starting to feel from all over his body.

Was Idris asking for it? Yes. Did he knew that was what he was doing? Absolutely. Mentioning the kids father seemed to really do it. Rhys was on his feet. Idris looked at the boy. He intended to give an uncaring expression, but upon seeing blood dripping from his nose, Idris couldn't help but snort a small laugh. It hurt, but was completely worth it. The kids looked stupid. That had hit the mark. The boy had raised his fist, and Idris was about to egg him on. But the Nurse had to ruin all his fun. ”That’s enough Mr. Greyback—sit back down before you do something you regret.” She moved to fix up his nose, as Idris couldn't help but chuckle through the pain. As she turned to glare at him, he held his breath, holding back more laughter. The woman wasn't fooled, she knew that the two were antagonizing the other. This was as much his fault as it was Rhys'. But she didn't stay long, soon she was gone again.
But the moment was gone, Idris gave a heavy sigh as he closed his eyes. He still didn't like the kid being next to him. He would be able to relax so much more if they had been separated. But no, the Nurse had simply put the baby back in his bed and walked away. What, did she think that it wouldn't happen again? Were they stupid enough to think that the two boys wouldn't continue to keep fighting? That was moronic. The silence was nice for a time, though he was incapable of relaxing. Then it was Rhys' time to start. Claiming that Idris wouldn't even graduate. His eyes opened side. His expression cold. His tone even and ruthless. Normally he spoke in a smug way, knowing he was a better fighter. But no, this time, he was cold, calculating. His voice low enough that the nurse wouldn't over hear, but loud enough that the kid next to him would know exactly what he was saying. He had been unhinged by the boys comment. "If I repeat, I'll make sure your ribs puncture your lung, and knock you so hard, you don't wake up." He was serious. He was sure to look the boy in the eye. His own eyes cold, emotionless, meaning every word he spoke. Idris knew he wasn't the brightest kid, but he wasn't stupid. He just didn't learn the classical way that they taught at Hogwarts.

So lay down, the threat is real When his sight goes red again October 23, 2015 @idris Through his anger, Rhys couldn’t think through the possible reasons why he was such a target. First, there was the obvious—he was Fenrir’s son and a werewolf. Second, Rhys wasn’t all that tall or muscular, his lanky physique a consequence of being a werewolf, but he’d never gained much muscle since he was on the house team. Plus, even if he had been considered for the team, his constant fighting and detention would have ensured he was removed. Boys like Idris made Rhys’ daily life at Hogwarts a nightmare, and the only solace he found was in his best friends. The only people that made him feel anything good and that he was worth something. Even at the orphanage, he didn’t have many friends, but he also hesitated because, for all he knew, they were going to a permanent home the next day.
Rhys’ face felt hot from the blood that hadn’t dried yet and the fury coursing through him. It seemed that Idris did not appreciate his comment, but Rhys could care less. Those blue eyes of his were dark and cold—icy and black. He felt nothing for the boy in the bed next to his own. If the Nurse wasn’t here, well, things would be going very differently, and without even a second thought to the pain, he put himself through. There was something serious about his statement, but Rhys’ gaze didn’t waver. Did he mean it? Probably, he’d seen the look in his eyes from the floor as he was being kicked and how relentless he was until he was stopped. ”You can try.” Rhys spoke evenly. ”You barely got me down today. I’m not eleven anymore.” Rhys was much taller now and had Idris needed to repeat his final years at Hogwarts, Rhys knew he would only grow taller. If there was anything he hoped his father gave him aside from his eyes, it was his height.

Rhys was easy to pick on. He was smaller, and had a massive hot head. Idris knew that the younger boy was the perfect target. When he really wanted to get into a fight, it was serendipitous when he spotted the werewolf. Though the boy wasn't the only one Idris fought with. He never cared what his actions did to those who fought. He was fine with that. He got what he needed from them, nothing else mattered.
It wasn't uncommon for students, and even teachers to think of Idris as stupid, lazy, or simply apathetic. The last thing he needed was to hear that from a werewolf Greyback who wasn't going anywhere simply because of where he came from. That is where the threat came from. The boy didn't seem to fully take it serious. So, it was Idris' turn to try to get up, but it seemed as though the nosey Nurse was now anticipating it. With a wave of her wand, he was forced back down. "Today was a fluke. I'll be sure to take you down faster next time." Idris was a fighter, he learned from ever impact. Height didn't matter to him, nether did size. He could read people's movements, or rather, he had trained himself to do so. Improvement was constant.

So lay down, the threat is real When his sight goes red again October 23, 2015 @idris It was as if Rhys would never be allowed peace in his life. Even if he thought of Hogwarts as some sort of sanctuary compared to everything else, there was still this to deal with. The Professors helped enough in the sense that fighting was discouraged, magical or otherwise, and they’d be separated in one way or another. Though whoever assigned them beds next to one another had not thought this through. Rhys still saw red, and all he felt was rage. Renfri would likely get on his case before the end of the day. They both still had Ancient Runes later this afternoon, and he’d probably not have time to change his shirt even when the Nurse fixed his nose.
Rhys didn’t want to talk to him anymore, and he just lay on the bed while he waited for the Nurse. She returned with a tray of potions and an expression he always saw from her. He was a regular in this office. Whether it was fighting or some injury from transforming, Rhys could be reliably found with the Nurse. ’Hold still.’ She spoke after placing the tray down on the side table. With a quick wave of her wand, Rhys suddenly felt an intense pain in his shoulder. He’d barely had a chance to blink, let alone prepare himself for that. But at least it was back in place. He only felt more pain since he’d inadvertently twitched and put pressure on the side where his ribs were bruised. Trying to normalize his breathing, he closed his eyes and just waited. He would be out of here and away from Idris soon.
