I wanna be in the energy
not with the enemy
2026
Asher closed his eyes and inhaled steadily. One of the few times you wouldn't find his familiar and piercing stare. But, it wasn’t a ritual he could skip. A meeting at the base, people that knew who he was and his career—it was always a risk, but years of training and honing his Occlumency and Legilimency had helped with his natural wariness. He exhaled slowly, focusing on his mind. The information he heard today and any emotions attached to that, he carefully placed that to the side. It didn’t need to be in the forefront of his mind when he walked through the Atrium at the Ministry of Magic. Asher’s training had begun as soon as he had graduated from Durmstrang and had informed his father that he would be working at the Ministry of Magic—the Department of Mysteries. Occlumency was highly recommended for future Unspeakables, but also Asher had wanted to protect his most valuable thoughts and vowed to never let his emotions be his downfall.
It was where he and Hazel differed the most—however, it was uncanny how efficient they both were in the most opposite of ways. He focused inward, taking that information and shuffling it behind walls and walls of useless Ministry information. Memorandums for Department Heads, reminders from IT about this, that or the other. Behind the secrets of The Death Chamber—yes, that’s where he kept his most treasured secrets. Being quite aware of other Legilimens at the Ministry, his training was essential if he wasn’t to be the weakest link. No Burke would ever be the weakest link as far as he was concerned. Opening his eyes, they were a bright blue and piercing as always.
