Early February, 2026
Simon couldn't wait for his much anticipated seventh year at Hogwarts to be complete. He had never been a good student, and as the year dragged on, he felt himself becoming more stir crazy in all of his classes. He endearingly referred to the feeling as a severe case of the 'fuck it's. The thing was, as Gryffindor Captain, he had to behave himself or the glorified position could be taken from him. That would be embarrassing. It never stopped him from having fun or doing things he knew he shouldn't, but he had to be more creative at times. Especially when it involved hanging out with Nate. His mate had a penchant for trouble, often Simon was guilty by association. Which wasn't fair. Luckily, he was good at talking himself out of most situations, and they were both quite sneaky.
The wheels of Simon’s skateboard glided down the smooth cement of the castle. As he came around a corner, an angry Professor scolded him, telling him not to ride the "contraption" inside, so he stopped and kicked up the board into his hand wordlessly. Once the Professor made their way around the corner, the half vampire took three steps before dragging it on the floor with a running start, the wheels screeched on the floor. As he came to the end of the hallway, he noticed Brigh flitting along aimlessly. It was the back of Brigh, but there was no way anyone could miss that head of bright red hair. Brigh was cute, fun, and kind of weird, so he liked her. Oh, and not to mention she shared the mutual hate for Jessie Meadows, so Simon appreciated her camaraderie more than she'd ever know.
Over the past couple of months, Bright and Simon had annoyed their Gryffindor housemates day and night by general debauchery of their newfound friendship. Recently, Simon’s favorite activity was hiding behind a wall, tree, anything, and jumping out to scare her. She’d gotten him back enough times to make it worth it. It was a great distraction for him considering the relationshit with Jessie and the ongoing drama involving Claudia and Nate. Though, he'd admit things were a step away from getting sexually tense, maybe that was a part of the thrill.
As Simon rolled passed Brigh, he reached a long arm out toward her to pull her hood over her head passed her eyes. "Ooooh, gotcha!" he bellowed while chuckling, surprised at how smooth it worked on one try. Simon slowed the rolling of his wheels by placing his foot on the ground to stop, looking at Brigh over his shoulder to stick his tongue out at her playfully. He prepared himself for whatever antics the redhead may throw at him next because he knew he asked for it this time.

Brígh often found herself wandering the corridors, mapping out the various twists and turns of the castle in her mind. Though she knew Lily held a special map with the entire castle, Brígh had started this habit long before she knew about Lily’s map. Addy had never understood her amblings, but Brígh couldn’t explain it. There was just something about having a connection to the castle that made her feel more at home. Especially as it had been yanked away from her so suddenly and abruptly last year.
The past month had been tense at best - from her encounter with Gus, to hexing Wendy and getting her to drop out of school, to subsequent detentions and dreaming about Aidan, Brígh hadn’t had much time to grill Addy and Cheese about their non-relationship. It was distressing, especially as nothing had come from her pep talk over the holidays. She and Addy were spending an unprecedented amount of time away from one another, and it hadn’t been helped by the fact that Brígh had accidentally bruised her best friend when smacking her with her charms textbook. Addy was obstinate! Brígh felt like she wasn’t the one to blame.
Lost in thought, Brígh didn’t hear the telltale screech of wheels behind her as she meandered down the corridors. Therefore, she was taken completely by surprise when her vision suddenly went black. She yelped out a noise of shock, then realised it was just her hood. Brígh shoved the material off her head, glaring at the culprit. Simon, a new friend though not an unexpected one, guffawed at the fact that he’d pulled it off so smoothly. ”Dick,” she called back to him, but her grin betrayed her. She shifted her rucksack on her shoulder, and tilted her head at him. ”Didn’t your keeper ever tell you it’s impolite to sneak up on ladies?” she chirped, though held no ill will. Simon and Brígh had become fast friends, particularly in the last month. He’d transferred to Hogwarts in their fifth year and had become her housemate, but hadn’t interacted much more than in classes and corridors. Simon had dated a girl called Jessie, who Brígh had thought was completely and utterly dull and boring. And then she’d been dragged off to Ireland to look after her da.
Upon return this past January, Brígh and a newly single Simon had struck up a devious friendship, trading pranks and mischief. They were almost like partners in crime, or would be if it wasn’t for their Slytherin counterparts. Addy keeping Brígh on the straight and narrow, and Nate involving Simon in much worse than she. Brígh glanced down at the skateboard, and rolled her eyes. ”You’d think you’d find a better contraption than that muggle thing,” she said loftily.

Early February, 2026
The corners of the half vampires lips broke into a small smile, eyebrows quirking upwards at her quickness to meet her gaze. She had a way with shoving Jessie in his face as insults but it never hurt his feelings. Nate had said much worse to him in his days of knowing him. Simon had to admit, Brigh's Keeper comment was actually pretty funny. Hell, he couldn't deny it even if he wanted to.
His mouth gaped open to a dramatic “O” shape, icy blue saucers widening with amusement. ”OOoo, buuurn!” he bellowed down the echoey hallway. Nodding his head in satisfaction. Simon loved a healthy serving of banter, and Brigh was certainly one who could dish it. Simon kicked the board into his hand and sauntered over to the cute redhead, “If it isn’t the bloody skateboard, you’re cryin' about how much quidditch sucks…” he told her, feigning irritation, “I’m startin' to think you just hate things you don’t understand or are incapable of doing.“ he jested, ruffling a hand through his messy hair as he offered her a smile.
Shaking his head in disapproval, he continued, attempting to meet her eyes without laughing, ”All of the things I love, you hate, I don’t know if this friendship is going to work.” he lamented, his expression tugging into a frown. There was a natural hint of flirtation behind the comment. Obviously he wasn't serious about failed friendships because Brigh was one of his favorite housemates by far. It was probably a good thing she didn't play quidditch because Simon wouldn't be able to keep his composure.

Everything about Simon was just as dramatic as Brígh - it was why they had gotten on so quickly. It was also one of the things she admired most in him. He was unapologetically himself, and didn't give a damn what anyone thought, least of all their professors. She groused about his skateboard and he sauntered over to her, carrying the board as he did so. "Imagine if it flew. Oh wait, not sure you'd be able to balance all that ego on just two feet. Dunno how you do it walking," said Brígh, a twinkle in her eye even as she crossed her arms. Simon was also the Quidditch captain and more than a capable flier - not that Brígh had ever cared that much. Quidditch had always been Addy and Cheese's thing, whilst Brígh instead to keep her two feet firmly on the ground.
"Can't help I'm a woman of good taste," she quipped, nudging Simon with her shoulder. "You can always count on me to get detention with you, at the very least," she observed, meeting Simon's intense gaze and smiling. "Besides, I like lots of things I'm not good at," she added, plucking the cigarette that had been balanced jauntily behind his ear. She put it in her mouth, lit it with the tip of her wand, and inhaled deeply. It took half a second for her to start coughing, and to pass the cigarette back to him, grimacing. "See? Bad... bad... but good," she sputtered through a fit of coughs.
At long last, Brígh was able to compose herself, and she shifted her bag slightly. "Ugh, I don't know why you like that shit," she murmured, eyeing the offending cigarette. "Your weed is so much better, why even bother?" she enquired, tilting her head slightly so that her red hair fell loosely over her shoulder.

Early February, 2026
Simon couldn't help but crack a smile when Brigh commented how she was surprised he could fly with his ego, "Getting knocked around on the field helps level the ego out a bit. And lose a few brain cells. D'ooh." he chirped as he looked down at her. Simon felt a static of flirtation from enjoying things she was bad at, but it was mulled over rather quickly when she yanked the cigarette from behind his ear.
His eye brows crumpled at the center of his forehead, ”Fuuu-Brigh” he watched in slow motion as she lit the end of the cigarette. There was a funny mixture of horror and amusement welling up inside him. As much as the devilish part of him wanted to encourage the debauchery, he also couldn't get caught smoking in the open again. Which was stupid because he was legally of age to smoke. The half vampires eyes widened, shaking his head at her in disapproval, but instantly the irritation faded at her dramatic coughing display ensued...while sputtering some "goods and bads". His eyes settled on her, "Serves ya right. Enjoy the burn." he told her, reaching for his wand and sucking the smoke out of the air. It was hard to be mad at Brigh, especially when she was hacking a lung out.
The redhead made a comment on how she couldn't believe he enjoyed cigarettes, Simon shrugged his shoulders upwards lazily, ”It’s this little thing called...an ‘Addiction’.” he answered her slowly with intensity, snatching the cigarette from her fingers. Simon wasn’t going to sugar coat it. He had much worse habits than his daily does of cigarettes or weed. ”If ya waited for two fuckin’ seconds I would have just given you a joint, mate, for fucks sake.” he said quickly, his tone filled with disbelief than anything. When she gained her composure and looked at him through her hair, he couldn't hide the flicker in his eye. Sometimes Brigh just had a way of looking at him. She had an innocent facade, but in reality she was a jäkel. What the Swedish would call a 'Devil'.
Simon nudged his body into her side, "You wanna smoke?" he waggled his eyebrows, tugging at her arm toward the courtyard, where they'd be able to make their escape to the side of the castle for privacy.

Brígh shrugged, stifling a smirk. "Well, next time keep watch for those bludgers aiming for your head," she replied sweetly. There was a certain level of chemistry between the pair, a spark that had never been explored. After all, Brígh had been much too focused on pursuing Albus in years past to turn her gaze inwards - and by then, Simon had started dating the goody-goody Jessie. Brígh made a face at the thought of the girl, then washed her from her memory. She instead plucked the cigarette from behind his ear, lit it with the tip of her wand, and took a too-long inhale.
Nearly losing a lung was not a good look for Brígh, she attempted to maintain her bravado, but failed miserably as she handed the cigarette back to Simon, complaining about it all the same. Simon vanished the smoke, a trace of worry etched on his lips. "Ah yes, that evil little thing," she said with a frown. Did she have any addictions? Perhaps she was an alcoholic? She wasn't sure. It certainly wasn't healthy the amount of times she snuck out of the castle to imbibe at a pub, whether it was in London or Hogsmeade or simply topping up her own stores. She didn't even want to think about the one time not so long ago that her evening had ended in France...
"Look, am I famed for my patience, Svendsen?" shot Brígh, her mouth quirking upwards in a reluctant grin. She flicked her long curtain of red hair over her shoulder, straightening as she did so. "Yeah, since you're twisting my arm and all," she replied easily, giggling as Simon tugged her arm and led her to the courtyard where they could find some privacy. "You've got to join me on one of my... excursions... at some point," Brígh observed as they passed through the courtyard round the side of the castle. "I'm not so used to confinement - Lily let me borrow the map once and I've managed to basically memorise some of the secret passageways to Hogsmeade. The world is your oyster when you've got a will and a way," said Brígh, arching a brow suggestively as she dumped her bag on the ground and collapsed in a heap on the frosted grass in the shadow of the castle.

Early February, 2026
The weaker side of Simon immediately obliged when Brigh mentioned the act of smoking. It was one of his most favorite past times, besides drinking, and painting. As well as the obvious quidditch and skateboarding. He knew it wasn't good for him, but he figured it didn't matter if he was going to die someday anyways, might as well indulge.
Simon shook his head from side to side in response to her question, a smile cracking, ”You have about as much patience as the capacity of a tea spoon.” he deadpanned as she got up with him to smoke. They made their way toward the side of the castle. She mentioned adventures with Lily Potter’s map and he was instantly intrigued about the secret passage ways to Hogsmeade. He understood her feeling of behind confined in the school all too well and needing to explore or rebel. It was one of the many reasons why he hated school, everything was too structured sometimes.
Taking a final drag off the cigarette he didn’t intend to finish, he flicked it behind him, not caring where it went because, well, he was a punk ass kid. “I’m down.” he said coolly, a sudden pique of interest. That was something he hadn’t ever done during his seven years in the castle, and their final months were quickly approaching. What if he never got to see that for himself? That would suck. “What about right now?” he challenged her, seeing how 'down' she’d really be. Realistically, he meant after the joint they were about to smoke.
Simon allowed his long legs to collapse under him as he plopped onto the grass next to Brigh, pressing his back against the cool stone of the castle wall. Reaching into his inner coat pocket for a shiny tin, ”Please share what discoveries you have found on your expeditions…” he asked with a playful tone, but he was interested in what Brigh had to say. Simon opened the tin of joints he had rolled earlier that day, choosing a fatter one. He brought it to his lips, and sparked the joint with a lighter and inhaled with ease before before passing it over.

With a smile that spoke volumes, Brígh simply shrugged, and followed Simon out to the courtyard, then around the side of the castle. She plonked unceremoniously on the crisp grass, ignoring the chill she felt through her robes. Really, being outdoors in the Scottish winter was ill advised. Why couldn't Professor Yaxley place a charm on the castle so that it was temperate year round? Maybe that could be a project for her, as Brígh had always excelled in charm work. Maybe she'd be able to convince Addy's help - that is, if her blonde best friend stopped keeping secrets and whinging about her denial whilst doing nothing about it. At least Brígh had helped ensure her quidditch captaincy - that would surely be enough.
Brígh arched a brow and fixed Simon with a piercing look at his challenge. "Alright. There's a passage under the willow. You ever tempt fate with that thing?" asked Brígh, her eyes bright with delight. Why hadn't she befriended Simon sooner? She then remembered Jessie. Right. Well, she was out of the picture now, and maybe Simon would want to sneak out and visit Aidan with her. She thought perhaps they could be friends too - who wouldn't want to be friends with Aidan? The thought of the young druid made her cheeks flush scarlet, before she took the joint that he passed to her. "You make it look so easy," she groused, placing it between her lips and inhaling.
Naturally, Brígh made every attempt to cough up her other lung, but she dissolved into laugher, tears streaming down her face. "Oh, heaps," said Brígh, holding out the joint to Simon. "One time, I snuck off to Hogsmeade and ended up in Diagon Alley. Then I ended up getting piano lessons from a rock star," she said with a telling grin spreading across her lips. "Stick with me and your life will know no bounds," she proclaimed, throwing her arms out in front of her dramatically. "Addy and Cheese never come with me to these places, so I end up alone a lot. It's strange... but less so since... well, since I've come back," said Brígh evasively. What she had meant was since Addy and Cheese had started hooking up, and moved on in their lives without her. But Simon didn't know the depth of her drama.

Early February, 2026
The grass was cold but nothing he wasn’t used to. Simon naturally ran cold so he didn’t always notice those things, especially when he had a joint distracting him. Brigh stated that he made smoking look so easy and he shrugged, exhaling through his nose with a chuckle. Simon liked how easy it was to hang out with Brigh. She wasn’t jealous or into petty drama, and he didn’t have to worry about hurting her feelings. It was weird how people were brought into life at the most random, but meaningful times. Simon was happy to have a friend who didn’t take things too seriously, she made a good confidant when they weren’t busy dicking around.
His lips curled upwards at the happy look on the redheads face when she mentioned the whomping willow. He nodded knowingly with an inhale, holding it in and exhaling before responding. “Not on purpose. My first week here during my fifth year, the Whomping Willow nearly gave me a concussion when I was trying to sneak a smoke near it…” He told her with a chuckle, a smile breaking across his face when he thought about how scared he was in that moment. ”Didn’t know there was an entrance there. Makes sense…the tree is guarding something.” he mused, passing the joint back over thoughtfully.
”Eh, you don’t need Addy pooping on your party anyways. She doesn’t seem like she’d rebel much when it comes to those things…” he said, more as a fact. Simon and Addy had a rather, strained relationship these days. All involving her being a bloody pitch hog, but whatever. As the redhead passed the joint over again, he carefully pinched it and raised it to his lips. ”Why’d you leave anyways?” he asked knowing it could potentially be intrusive, but he had a feeling like he and Brigh were friendly enough to talk about those sort of things.

Brígh shrugged, passing the joint to Simon. "Never knew a tree to be so violent unless it's guarding something," said Brígh mysteriously. In truth, she didn't know any other tree that fought back. But she didn't expand on that fact. "Bet you learned your lesson quickly then, hey?" she asked, her lips quirking upwards in a mischievous smile. He took a long inhale, and Brígh watched the way his lips wrapped around the cylindrical paper, then as they parted and he exhaled slowly, the smoke escaping his mouth in a way that was almost artful. She frowned. She didn't look half as graceful as him. Though she supposed he had a lot more practice than she did at this sort of thing.
"No, she's not much of a rebel," Brígh agreed, quieting after a moment. The dynamic between Brígh and Addy had changed since she had come back. A year of separation seemed to leave its mark on the two girls. Now, Addy was denying having feelings for their other best friend, then trying to keep Brígh in the dark, and Brígh was simply acting all over the place. She felt so much like she had a whole year to live in the span of a few months. It was exhausting. Instead of elaborating, she took an inhale of the joint, held her breath, then finally exhaled, managing to keep her coughs to a minimum.
Eyeing Simon critically, Brígh returned the joint to her friend. "I thought everyone knew," she said after a moment. "Me da got ill. Really ill. Not sure what caused it, or why he got better. But me ma thought... well, she thought it would be better for me to be around in case I er... in case I had to say good-bye," said Brígh her voice breaking on the last word. "But he made a miraculous recovery. So here I am, causing trouble once more. Thank Merlin, eh? Can't have you copping all the fame for our misdeeds."

Early February, 2026
"I always just thought the Whomping Willow was just a pissed off tree." he admitted to her, shaking his head in disbelief as he was unable to stifle a laugh now. He turned to Brigh, "So what d'ya do to get passed it? Do you go unseen by the willow? Or does someone distract it?" Simon asked, truly curious about the Whomping Willow now that it had a purpose. Simon watched as Brigh inhaled with ease this time, his head nodding in approval with a flicker in his eyes, "Ahh, you're getting the hang of it. Watch out, cool kid." he chimed playfully, eyebrows dancing at the center of his forehead rhythmically.
His eyebrows threaded at the center of his forehead when Brigh commented that she thought everyone knew of the reason why she left. Honestly, he didn't. Simon wasn't into gossip and never took anything he heard about anyone said to heart because most people were full of shit. Brigh passed the joint back and he flicked the ash off the end, shrugging his shoulders upwards lazily, "I don't pay attention to that stuff, I guess. Or I may have forgotten.." he smiled slowly, raising the joint in his hand to blame. Then, she shared some heavier information. The half vampire raised the joint to his lips again, "Oh, shit." he said, in a 'sorry for asking' kind of way. Simons expression softened, but he had a feeling like Brigh didn't want the sympathy, especially since her father seemed to be doing well now. "I'm sorry about your pops..but glad to hear he's doing better now. That must've been really scary." Simon said. He thought about his frequent 'misdeeds' for a moment before adding, "I've always fantasized about dropping out but my parents would kill me." he confessed with a dark chuckle, smoke exhaling through his nose and burning his nostrils. Simon figured Brigh would understand seeking the feeling of freedom. Now he was so close to graduating he couldn't dream of just quitting now.

With a devious smirk, Brígh shrugged. "The more you know," she replied cryptically, waggling her eyebrows. She straightened imperiously, proud to know something that the infamously mischievous Simon did not. Then again, she'd had the benefit of Lily Potter living in her dorm. She'd been kind enough to briefly share the map with her, if only for a quick glance. But that one glance had told Brígh all she had needed to know. "Nah, there's a little knob at the trunk of the tree. Looks like a pimple. Prod that and the tree will freeze for a few seconds and bada bing, bada boom. You're in," she said brightly.
Brígh's head was starting to feel a bit foggy, her movements sluggish as she slumped a bit lower against the wall of the castle. She retold her sordid tale of her da getting ill, keeping it as clipped and clinical as possible. She didn't much fancy getting into the details - she'd recently had an argument with her father, and didn't want to think much about it. "Yeah, honestly it was shite. But he's better. And bossing me around. And nosing into my business," she added, wrinkling her nose in distaste. Why couldn't he just be a distant, removed father? She didn't need him snooping around her life anyways. She huffed.
"Dropping out?' asked Brígh, peering through the acrid smoke to appraise Simon. "But why? We haven't got real responsibility here. And while classes are a bore and such... at least we don't have to work and pay for housing and such. And you get to be around your friends always. None of that moving across the country nastiness," she added after a moment. "I'm scared to leave Hogwarts. Again. The real world is... well yeah, an adventure, but laden with responsibilities. I like sneaking around and not getting caught, the only consequences getting a detention. And to think of what's waiting for us... with the Purifiers and all that. We can try and prepare but who know's what they're planning. I don't want to get caught in the crossfire but if I do, I'll be ready." Another huff, and Brígh tucked her feet under her, crossing her arms as she did so. "I tried to talk to Madam Macmillan about training. She's bound to know some from her time in the DA, right? But then she just punished me for hexing Wendy Weekly."

Early February, 2026
Simon listened as Brigh explained the Whomping Willow. He couldn’t help but chuckle as his eyebrows threaded together, ”A little pimple, you say…” he nodded his head along thoughtfully, making a face. ”That’s pretty gross, but I dunno why these things surprise me still when we gotta tickle a bloody pear to get into the kitchens of this place.” Simon said a stoned chuckle as Brigh passed the joint back to him and he continued. ”Durmstrang didn’t do those things. I only remember it be really fucking cold and everyone kind of looking angry all the time.” Simon shared before taking another drag and exhaling.
The half vamp listened as Brigh listed off reasons why dropping out would have been stupid. He agreed. A year or two ago he wouldn’t have but he was glad he got past that funk. Quidditch helped with that. ”You’re absolutely right, Brigh. That’s why I stuck through it.” he agreed with a nod and smile. She turned a bit to a darker side, mentioning Purifiers and wanting to be ready when they strike next. He wasn’t sure if it was the weed, or if she truly was that worried, but he also agreed with that. ”Hey, I’m sure Madam Macmillan will come around.” he assured her, offering a pat on the back. ”Especially because all you wanna do is use the knowledge to help save the world.” he said lightly, but her words about Wendy had officially sank in.
”Oooh?” his eyes widened with interest as he tilted his head to the side. ”Now what did Wendy Weekly do?” he asked quickly with a chuckle, offering her a nod of approval. Didn’t surprise him really. Brigh had her own way of doing things, it was why he enjoyed having her as a friend, although he wished he had known about how awesome she was sooner.

Brígh laughed, a sound like pealing bells. "Yeah, it is pretty gross, isn't it?" she replied with a grin. "Couldn't think of anything better to describe it though. I'm no horticulturalist, after all," she added after a moment. "The pear is cool though. I like how it giggles," said Brígh honestly. She laughed again at Simon's appraisal of Durmstrang. "Must be miserable in all that cold. Though I thought the Scandinavians were meant to be the happiest bunch in the world. Maybe they're just poor at showing it," said Brígh with a shrug. Her belly rumbled, and her cheeks heated. "Shush, you," she murmured down to her robes.
The reasons to stick it out at school were many and varied, and Brígh only listed a few. She was grateful that Simon had stuck it out - they likely wouldn't have become friends if he had not. Brígh could always count on him for a bit of trouble, especially when Addy and Cheese were off 'sneaking about' as they liked to call it. But since the incident over New Years, Brígh knew exactly what that sneaking involved. Simon took her mind off things like that, and the fact that she couldn't very well sneak off whenever she fancied to go see Aidan. After all, she didn't even know if he was thinking about her the same way she did about him. He was a genuine person, and perhaps all the flirting and talking and all the sparks and heat she felt were all in her head. "I'm glad you did. Who else would encourage my bad behaviour? Or yours, come to think of it," said Brígh with a grin, resting her head on Simon's shoulder.
Brígh went into a monologue about the purifiers, and Simon listened dutifully, humming in all the right places. "I just think... well, we've got to do things ourselves right? To prepare ourselves for whats out there. So our heads aren't stuck in the sand, y'know?" said Brígh, shifting slightly so that she could see Simon's reaction as she spoke. "What if we took things into our own hands? What if we learned how to defend ourselves - properly? Not just duelling but things that can be applied in the real world," said Brígh slowly, her gaze searching Simon's face.
Straightening, Brígh couldn't help her scoff, before her lips curved up into a smirk. "It's more the fact that she exists than anything, y'know?" said Brígh. "Well, that and she stole the Quidditch captaincy from Addy. Can't take that lying down," said Brígh, leaning back against the castle wall. Her stomach rumbled again and she glanced back at Simon. "Kinda hungry. Shall we try to pop a pimple?" asked Brígh with a devious set to her expression.

Early February, 2026
Simon shook his head from side to side when Brigh went on about the giggling pear that guarded the kitchens. She wasn't wrong. As a Swede he took pride in his heritage. Simon nodded along with her with a smile when she said that the Scandanavians were some of the happiest bunch. "Ja. Us Swedes have a longer life expectancy and longer days in the summer. And the longer you live, the more happiness you experience.." he stated as matter of after of factly with a chuckle, knowing how corny is sounded. The redhead followed by saying she was happy he stayed because they were bad influences on each other. He definitely agreed, the small but genuine smile showed it. "I am too. It's probably better we didn't become friends until later because we probably would've been kicked out already." he agreed, tilting his head slightly on hers when she rested it on her shoulder. More platonic than flirtatious at that moment.
As Brigh explained her reasoning for punching Wendy, he listened along with interest, a flicker in his eye. "Ah, that's juicy." he chuckled, nodding his head with approval. "Well, Addy is doing a good job so I guess it was worth it." Simon said, willing to put his pride aside to compliment the snakes ability to lead her team.
Simon snuffed out the joint, hiding the evidence in the grass like a punk ass kid. His head nodded thoughtfully when Brigh met his gaze, her tone getting more intense as she spoke about anticipating something bad happening and wanting to be prepared. He hoped it wasn't the weed making her overthink."I think I get what you're putting down. If you want things done right, do it yourself. What is it you're trying to do?" he asked her curiously with a crumpled brow, wanting to hear more. Maybe picking her brain would make her feel more at ease.
Typically Simon was too confident for his own good, but the thought of dueling for his life made him nervous. More because he hadn't had to do it under a stressful situation before. Maybe if he practiced that would change. Simon had always been a fighter so it did give him a flicker of curiosity.
Bright announced that she was hungry, asking if he was ready to pop a pimple. "Down." Simon pushed himself off of the grass and hopped to his feet with ease, extending a helpful hand for Brigh to launch her off of the ground if she so pleased. His head tilted to the side, ”You’re not too high to navigate, are ya?” he asked with a stony smile, offering a playful side glance. ”Don’t wanna green out and be stuck under the castle for all of eternity due to one wrong turn..” Simon quipped with a chuckle, not actually too concerned. He had confidence in their ability to figure it out if they got turned around. It had been a while since he had a proper sneak around the grounds, so he was willing to see where it took them since Brigh would no doubt be a great adventure partner.
